I commissioned this piece from @maikaartwork and they absolutely knocked it out of the park— it’s perfectly, divinely gorgeous!!! 🥰 I’m so in love with it I can’t stop smiling.

This is for @strngerpairs valentines event: Greatmage (Eleven x Gareth) and Stali (Steve x Kali)

The four of them took a trip to California to celebrate El’s high school graduation.

Neither Kali nor Gareth had ever seen the ocean before, and they had completely opposite reactions to their very first glimpse. Kali whooped with joy and immediately raced headlong into the waves, shrieking with delight. Gareth stood wide-eyed on the sand for a few minutes whispering “it’s so big” before he could even think about wading in.

They spent the entire day at the beach, as carefree as children; building castles, swimming, playing chicken, and (at El’s insistence) collecting seashells. Late in the afternoon Jonathan and Argyle met up with the group, and as the sun began to set Jonathan quickly snapped some photos as a reminder of a blissfully perfect day.

And there he was, front and center, wearing someone else’s patchwork tweed cap and leaning against the long rack with a smirk: Steve Harrington in all his glory and adorably stupid shenanigans. “Took you long enough, Bonnie,” he said, twirling his pair of sunglasses like a toy. “Ready for our next caper?” She squinted, approaching him with a sly expression, and crushed the borrowed hat over his ears. “Oh, Clyde—seems you finally found something nice to cover your outrageous hair.” “You like? I was thinking of asking the Crypt Keeper of this monstrosity if I can borrow it sometime for a date…” “You wouldn’t dare,” she laughed. The coat closet had been their meeting place for well over a year now. It was far from luxurious, reeking of mothballs, a stringent mixture of perfume, and a whiff of grandma's house. But there were major pros to meeting in this closet. She found him standing at the base of the stairs. Jonathan often worked late, but always made it up to Chrissy; her birthday was no exception. A bouquet of the prettiest pink peonies threatened to burst out of its vase. She’d only mentioned once in passing that she never liked roses, and when they’d gone to the garden center she’d stopped to smell one of the potted displays filled with tiny peony blooms. Chrissy rushed down the flood of steps, stopping short on the last one, and her eyes watered at the sight of his tired, smiling eyes. “You remembered?”
