These are my picks for the @strangerthingsreversebigbang sign up brackets!! I think ultimately, Erica will win. I have explanations under the cut. Side A Round 1 polls are live, Side B starts tomorrow, and if you want to jump in on the predictions, I'm attaching the blank brackets below!!

Round 1 A

Robin and Max - Max. I think they both want to go, but Robin would get so flustered with the queue or she’d get distracted waiting and would time out. Max would just not back down, she’d somehow find a way to stare Ticketmaster down and would be offered the best seats on a reserve. 

Joyce and Lucas - Lucas. Okay, Joyce would stop at nothing if Will asked her to get tickets, but she would go in so underprepared. Meanwhile, Lucas has been trained by both Max and Lucas to try and get the tickets. He’s treating it as seriously as a campaign, with all of his notes ready to go at least a half hour before the pre-sale starts. 

Erica and Steve - Erica. There’s no doubt about it. Steve probably likes Taylor and if we’re talking modern AU, he’s probably a casual swiftie either by his own choice or just because he’s surrounded by so many. And he’d do his best, but he’s going up against THE Erica Sinclair??? She’s the one who’s researching everything for the concerts, triple checking all the codes, making sure they get into the pre-sales, and studying the stadium to make sure they get the best seats possible. Steve would think he could just do the regular sale or, god forbid, show up to the stadium day of and get tickets from the call box. He’d so underestimate what he’s getting into. 

Dustin and Mike - Dustin. On one hand, he has Suzie. She’s probably hacking Ticketmaster or coaching him into reading the code so they can get tickets faster at a better price. Mike just wouldn’t even bother. Like maybe he wants the tickets for someone else, but he wouldn’t put in that much effort into getting them. Not compared to Dustin who would thrive with the challenge. 

Round 1 B

Argyle and Nancy - Nancy. Is this even a debate? Nancy would be like Erica and nothing could stop her from getting those tickets. Argyle would be so chill about it and would probably be able to get tickets the day of somehow, or he’d end up with a personal invite. I just feel like he’s got connections and decent luck that it’d just work out while the rest of the world has to fight tooth and nail for the tickets. It would still be an iffy for Argyle but Nancy would guarantee those tickets. 

Eddie and Eleven - Eddie. Alright, listen. This isn’t who wants them more, it’s who scored the tickets. Eddie has concert experience, he probably has gone through the ticketmaster bull a few times now (especially if this is a modern au). Or he has the connections if you go the rockstar route and can guarantee the tickets. Eleven wants them, but I think she’d be underprepared or depend on Max to get the tickets for them. Hell, maybe Eddie gets them for Eleven! Either way, he’s working the system to get those tickets. 

Murray and Jonathan - Murray. I just don’t think Jonathan would listen to Taylor if he’s older, and maybe if he did listen to her casually in a modern au, I don’t think he’d care much about going. Murray I think would just try a little harder, but I think he’s getting them to resell not necessarily go himself. 

Hopper and Will - Will. Will’s got easy competition here. He just has to want to try and he wins this bracket. Hopper doesn’t care, he wouldn’t even attempt to get tickets for Eleven. He’s too old for this shit. 

Round 2 A

Max and Lucas - Max. They’re both fighting for them, side by side on the laptops. It’s all frantic typing and frustrated yelling as Ticketmaster crashes over and over again. At first, Lucas has the tickets. He’s in the payment section, the tickets are his and he’s typing as fast as he can. He hits submit. The site starts processing it. He’s shaking with excitement. Then it times out and he loses those tickets, gets kicked back to the start of queue. Max is sitting beside him laughing as she gets through the payment section way faster since she thought about presaving her card information. It’s all okay, though. She was getting the tickets for the two of them and Eleven and Erica. Lucas doesn’t even pout, they both jump up to celebrate as soon as the payment goes through! 

Erica and Dustin - Erica. Dustin may have Suzie on his side, but Erica has her own set of powers. She’s just more determined to make it happen. 

Round 2 B

Nancy and Eddie - Nancy. Unless Eddie is a rockstar here, I think Nancy would just be more prepared in general and the Eras Tour presale is unlike any Eddie has seen before. 

Murray and Will - Murray. I think Will would start to get flustered as he’s trying to get the tickets, but that kind of flustered where he just starts laughing and just dissolves into giggles. 

Round 3 A

Max and Erica - Erica. This is SO TOUGH. I think it boils down to Erica isn’t ashamed of her interests and will do whatever is necessary to get what she wants. Max is at that age where she doesn’t want people to know she cares about something, so she would brush it off, even if she’s trying so hard for the tickets. But it’s okay, she’s going with Erica, Eleven, and Lucas anyway so if Erica gets tickets, so does she. 

Round 3 B

Nancy and Murray - Nancy. Murray gets booted out of the queue twice and has to restart so he just gives up. The resale value isn’t worth losing an entire day and he has a karate lesson to get to. Nancy gets them on the first try.  

Round 4

Erica and Nancy -  Erica. It’s a battle of wills. I do think Nancy would want the tickets, she’d give it her best, but the reality is she’s got other priorities and I’m not sure if she would make it a priority. Erica has nothing better to do, in her eyes, this is the pinnacle of existence and she has to be the very best, because she’s Erica Sinclair.

Week 5 of the @strangerthingsreversebigbang sign up brackets: Which character is most likely to drop their phone in the toilet? Explanations for my choices under the cut.

Owens vs Karen: The amount of time Owens has dropped the ball in just everything to do with the upside down. I have no faith that this man wouldn't fumble his phone into the toilet.

Wayne vs Joyce: This one was tough for me. But Joyce is so flighty and chaotic sometimes I can definitely see her dropping her phone a lot.

Owens vs Joyce: I'm going with Owens on this one, mostly because I just think she's more responsible than he is in general.

Ted vs Bob: Bob was like obsessed with his video camera, and keeping it in perfect condition so I think he would be the same way about his phone. Ted Wheeler is hopeless. I feel like even if his phone isn't in the toilet then he's asking Karen at least five times a day where it is while he stares directly past it on the counter.

Dmitri vs Claudia: Claudia has to have Dustin show her how to do everything on her phone and I think there's absolutely a high chance she would knock it into the toilet at some point and then take it to Dustin to have him fix it.

Ted vs Claudia: I fully believe that Ted Wheeler has dropped his phone in the toilet multiple times. Claudia would learn from the first time and make sure it was in a safe spot.

Owens vs Ted: The lack of faith I have in Ted Wheeler, honestly. Alexei vs Hopper: The only reason Hopper even has a cell phone is because Joyce basically forces him to. I honestly can see him getting annoyed because it won't stop going off and throwing it in the toilet.

Murray vs Callahan: There is no way that Murray trusts owning a cell phone. If he has one it's turned off and in a fucking jammer box until he has to use it.

Hopper vs Callahan: Honestly, Callahan is about as useless as Ted Wheeler.

Brenner vs Scott: I'm picking Brenner just because Scott seems like he would take care of his stuff, and Brenner sucks.

Powell vs Yuri: Yuri is just pure chaos. His phone would be in the toilet, in the freezer, in the shower. Wherever he last was is where it would get left.

Callahan vs Yuri: This one is tough but I think Callahan is just more likely to do this more than once, so I'll give it to him.

Ted vs Callahan: Ted Wheeler would not only drop his phone in the toilet, but would fully not even realize he did so, flush, leave the room, ask Karen where she put his phone ten times, and then Nancy would find it in the toilet when she went in there next.

My Week 5 Bracket for the Stranger Things Reverse Big Bang Sign Up Brackets!

Explanation under the cut!

Side A, Round 1

Owens v Karen - I just don't see Karen being on her phone on the toilet. I think if it was the bathtub and she dropped it while reading smut... that would be a different story. Wayne v Joyce - Joyce is gonna be married to her smartphone. What if her boy needs to get ahold of her? She's using Find My Friends to track Will on an hourly basis. She's dropping it purely because she cannot let it out of her sight. Ted v Bob - Bob is someone who knows all the important details for maintaining electronics. His phone is going nowhere near any water, toilet bowl or otherwise. Ted on the other hand, could not care less about electronic maintenance and definitely get stuck scrolling while on the porcelain throne. Dmitri v Claudia - Dmitri. Dmitri is operating under desperate measures. He's keeping his communication lines as close to him as possible. As a result... there are some blunders. Claudia barely looks at her phone unless it's videos of cats, and she's not doing that in the bathroom.

Side B, Round 1

Alexei v Hopper - similar to Bob, Alexei knows the details of how to maintain his tech. He's keeping his phone away from all moisture possible. Hopper on the other hand is very careless with his phone, and might drop it on purpose in hopes to be rid of the thing. Murray v Callahan - Callahan. Murray doesn't even own a cellphone, he barely bought a flip phone when they came out. Callahan has lost several phones to the bowl. Brenner v Scott Clarke - This was a hard call, because I don't really see either of them dropping their phone in the toilet... but... I went with Brenner. I think Scott Clarke worships his tech, and if he's investing in a good phone he's going to treat it like gold. Brenner doesn't even value humans. He's not going to be that careful with a cellphone. Powell v Yuri - Yuri. Yuri, similar to Dmitri is acting on a "desperate times, desperate measures" mentality. He's also pretty confident that if he does drop it in water, he can repair it... even if the methods are questionable. Powell on the other hand is leaving it in the other room when he needs to use the facilities.

Side A, Round 2

Owens v Joyce - Joyce. I really don't see that woman parting with her phone for anything. After all she's been though, who can blame her? I don't think Owens is as glued to his phone as Joyce is. Ted v Dmitri - Ted. I truly think this man is a menace with his phone. He is so nonchalant that it happens way too often with almost no reaction. Dmitri, is less likely in my opinion.

Side B, Round 2

Hopper v Callahan - Callahan. Again, I think he's just ridiculously careless with his phone. Brenner v Yuri - Yuri. I think between the two of them, Yuri is more likely given his confidence in his ability to fix it in the event that happens.

Round 3

Joyce v Ted - Ted. I think his lack of caring about what happens to the phone is his ultimate downfall. Joyce values her smartphone. She's doing everything she can to avoid it getting ruined. Ted simply does not care. Callahan v Yuri - Callahan. Similar to Ted, Callahan does not care what happens to his phone, and he's irresponsible with it, and this guy definitely hides out in the bathroom to avoid doing his paperwork. You can't convince me he's not on his phone while he's doing it.

Round 4

Ted v Callahan - Ultimately, I went with Callahan for this one. I think it's a tough call between these two since they are both so careless. That said, I think Callahan is more actively hiding out with his phone in the bathroom whereas, Ted will ignore everyone on his phone to their faces.
