Here's a replacement for electric guitar, University EP.
Superflux ÜberUV Default
Recolors & decorative add-ons
Download: SFS | BOX
Polycount: 2110 (was ~850). Textures are 1024x512 px, I also included 3 amplifier recolors, 512x512 px. New guitar mesh is not 100% compatible with old recolors although some of those might look ok. Texture PSD with layers is here (SFS).
Updated 07.04.2024- Deco guitar floor stand can be placed on surfaces without moveObjects cheat
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*This is for The Sims 2
More pics under the cut:
>> If guitar recolors don't show up in your game - apparently there's some kind of conflicting CC object that's causing this. No idea what it is tho. <<
Included add-ons feature guitar stand and wall-mounted guitar. Of course these require my default to work.
Default guitar features: mesh, textures, TXMTs and SHPE resource.
Tumblr media
The original guitar is a peculiar mix of cordoba stage guitar and Gretsch electric guitar. The strings are missing for some reason.
I separated some parts as non-recolourable subsets with new 256x256 px texture. There are two color versions to choose from.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
FYI I've edited amplifier recolors after taking the pics so these look a little different.

Here's how recolor for original mesh looks like on my default. It's this one by Michelle.

Of all Shakespeare plays, which would you say is most Team Smallfolk?
For all that I love the Bard of Avon, he's rather anti-populist in a lot of his plays. Think about the rather negative depiction of the Roman "mob" and the populari in Julius Caesar or Coriolanus, or the similarly negative depiction of Jack Cade in Henry VI, Part 2.
I would argue that Shakespeare's most pro-smallfolk play just happens to be my favorite of his plays (surprise, surprise): King Lear.

"O, reason not the need! Our basest beggars Are in the poorest thing superfluous. Allow not nature more than nature needs, Man’s life is cheap as beast’s..." "Thou wert better in a grave than to answer with thy uncovered body this extremity of the skies.—Is man no more than this? Consider him well.—Thou ow’st the worm no silk, the beast no hide, the sheep no wool, the cat no perfume. Ha, here’s three on ’s are sophisticated. Thou art the thing itself; unaccommodated man is no more but such a poor, bare, forked animal as thou art. Off, off, you lendings! Come, unbutton here..." "Poor naked wretches, wheresoe’er you are, That bide the pelting of this pitiless storm, How shall your houseless heads and unfed sides, Your looped and windowed raggedness defend you From seasons such as these? O, I have ta’en Too little care of this. Take physic, pomp. Expose thyself to feel what wretches feel, That thou may’st shake the superflux to them And show the heavens more just."
I think that's as radical a political statement about poverty and the failures of government to protect the neediest in society as one could get away with in early Stuart theatre.

Research into artists.
*I've been researching various artists.
*I have the information in my sketch book.
*Forgot to post them on here.
*So, I'm posting them all together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These artists were recommended to me for research by my tutors.
All except the Arberes.
When I researched Anne Hamilton, she metioned them and I looked for them.
They are an amazing pair of artists. They seem to be able to create anything and everything.
Beautiful works of art, both for exhibit and for practical purposes.
I dont know if they will be of use to me in my making art but they are very interesting to read about.
I found that I took inspiration in the work of Butler.
I like how she can create beauty from everyday stuff.
I hope to take some ideas from her.
Bodl Manz work is practical, beautiful, delicate and looks like something I could take inspiration from.
Anne Hamiltons work is fully related to my brief at the minute.
I have taken some ideas from looking at her art, mainly, how I might display my work.
Superflux artwork is related to my brief.
I also think they have made such fun of their creations and have made it accessible to all.
Paul Jackson was recommended to us in class.
I don't really have much to relate to this artist but did find his work intriguing,
Im very impatient so when I look at artists like Jackson, I admire the skills involved.

c. Lear uses alliteration such as "pelting of this pitiless," "houseless heads," and "shake the superflux," which demonstrate his fanciful state of mind and the fact that his serious and kingly side has given way to madness. He uses imagery such as "looped and windowed raggedness" to describe those whose misfortunes are greater than his. c. The figurative language compares the fluidity of a woman's mind to smoke, which cannot be contained in any way. Rosiland uses alliteration like "the wiser, the waywarder" to denote a playful approach to her subject. Puck, Touchstone, and Lear's fool all serve comedic purpose, and they are all fools, and yet each character serves his master differently, and serves a different role in the play. Puck, the most independent, is nonetheless bound to Oberon, with some degree of awe and fear for his master. Touchstone, who chooses to follow Rosiland and Celia, also takes the liberty to amuse himself at the expense of other, and is faithful to his mistresses, but with more devotion and less respect. Lear's fool is completely devoted to the King, choosing to suffer beside him with no regard to his own suffering. Puck's actions have a huge impact on the plot, interfering with most of the mortals' journeys. Even in serving Oberon, all his actions are done with the purpose of entertaining himself. Puck gathers the plant that makes people fall in love and who mixes up the dose, turning the lovers' night into an odyssey of confusion. As Oberon says, "This is thy negligence" (3.2.345). Puck also puts the ass's head on Bottom, ensuring a lively night for him and Titania. His central role is also demonstrated by his delivery of the epilogue. He has a reputation known to all the fairies, who immediately see "you are that shrewd and knavish sprite Called Robin Goodfellow" (2.1.33). Touchstone also lays claim to a reputation, since he has been in court and is aware of the conventions of society. Although Puck has more power, Touchstone has more leeway, since Puck will always be Oberon's subject, whereas Touchstone may choose who to follow. Although he is the Duke's subject, Celia knows "He'll go along o'er the wide world with me" (1.3.130) He has less effect on the plot, serving primarily a comic purpose for comparison. His trumped-up manners are compared to those of the honest rustics (particularly in his wooing of Audrey), while his over-the-top mirth is contrasted with Jacques's melancholy. He too, while devoted to Celia, seeks to please himself in his jokes, although he also hopes to entertain those around him. Lear's Fool is the most faithful of fools, applying himself only to the king's needs. Although he can be funny, his purpose is to use humorous license to make serious points. Only the fool has the power to tell Lear that he has made a Read the full article

Fixing Futures

Anab Jain: Refuge for Resurgence
Anab Jain is a futurist and co-founder of Superflux, a design studio exploring how technology, society, and ecology intersect. She uses speculative design to imagine future scenarios, addressing global issues like climate change and inequality. One of her project's Refuge for Resurgence shows how all life forms can live together in harmony. It reimagines architecture as a shared space, not just for people but also for animals, plants, and other species. Instead of showing futuristic technologies, it uses metaphors that imagines a world where humans are no longer in control of the Earth.
Tumblr media
The setting reflects a world destroyed with a flooded city surrounded by wild plants. At the center is a banquet where humans, animals, insects, and plants come together as equals to survive and rebuild. Humans are represented by broken objects from today’s world, like old tools and appliances, that are repurposed as plates and utensils for the banquet. This depicts how nature and humas are interconnected and how we must reuse to adapt to the changing world.

Anab Jain
Anab Jain, co-founder of Superflux, is known for her ability to work with weak links, connecting unexpected ideas and disciplines to address complex global challenges. Her work blends speculative design, technology, and storytelling, crafting immersive experiences that explore potential futures. By using design as a lens, she examines how humanity might navigate uncertainty and adapt to emerging social, environmental, and technological changes.
One of her acclaimed projects, "Mitigation of Shock", imagines a future impacted by climate collapse. The installation presents a survival apartment equipped with tools, hydroponic food systems, and hacked technologies, portraying how people might adapt to food scarcity and resource depletion. By merging familiar elements with speculative ones, the project bridges the gap between the present and the future, encouraging individuals to engage with the consequences of their actions today. Jain’s work exemplifies how weak links can inspire innovative, thought-provoking narratives about the challenges and possibilities of tomorrow.

Anab Jain and Radha Mistry
Anab Jain and Radha Mistry represent two compelling voices in speculative and future design, each bringing distinctive approaches to imagining possible tomorrows.
Anab Jain, through her studio Superflux, transforms abstract futures into tangible experiences. Her installation "Mitigation of Shock" stands out by presenting a lived-in vision of climate-impacted domestic life, making distant concerns immediate and personal. Rather than crafting utopian visions, Jain specializes in creating immersive scenarios that help people grapple with complex challenges like resource scarcity and technological change.
Radha Mistry approaches futures through the lens of architecture and urban spaces. Her work explores how emerging technologies shape our built environment, with particular attention to hidden systems and their human impact.
What unites their work is a focus on the human experience within rapidly evolving systems. Both designers excel at making abstract futures relatable through compelling visual and narrative approaches. They don't simply present possible futures – they prompt us to consider what futures we should actively work toward.
Their ability to blend provocative ideas with practical implications has particular resonance. Rather than treating speculation as purely artistic exercise, they use it as a tool for inspiring meaningful dialogue and action in the present. They don’t just present visions of the future; they demand introspection and action in the present. This duality—provocation and practicality—is something I admire and aim to integrate into my projects, especially in speculative storytelling and design.
