Decklist Contraption - Holiday Special!
Warning: Long post
*inhales*
*clears throat*
*pushes up glasses*
*adjusts bunch of plushies- uh- ahem.*
Season's greasons, Duelists! A very merry Zarcmas to all!!
(Oh God it's the 8th time now what the fuck-)
Today I present you a very silly, very convoluted, veeeeery sacky decklist in the spirit of the holidays. Ever wondered how it'd feel like to end the duel before it begins? Well, you're in luck, because I have one such method of highly fluctuating consistency!
Introducing.... Tricksturbance Strategy Turbo!
Tumblr media
The premise is very simple, in spite of all the variables. You need to go first, punt Z-ARC into the Pendulum zone, and set down either (or both) of Trickstar Reincarnation and Disturbance Strategy, all before your opponent's main phase.
Every card in the deck plays a part in that (to the best of its barely coherent ability)- and that's what I'll be detailing below!
Main Deck (40 cards):
1x Odd-Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon: Just fodder for Celestial Soul, really.
3x Supreme King Gate Magician: The main playmaker on the Z-ARC side of the combo; he can search out either of the two Souls to get you to your dragon overlord.
2-3x Supreme King Gate Zero: A pendulum scale for Gate Magician's self-summoning effect, nothing more, nothing less. Ratio interchangeable with Darkwurm. Oh, speaking of...
2-3x Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm: Self-summoning little guy that searches Gate Magician or Gate Zero, in case you didn't open with both.
2x Cup of Ace: Card advantage. RNG-dependent, but oh well.
3x Dragon Shrine: Mill Darkwurm, summon Darkwurm from grave, profit.
1x Upstart Goblin: Card advantage again.
1x Foolish Burial: Darkwurm mill. Again.
3x Pot of Prosperity: More card advantage, with the added bonus of potentially jackpotting a missing combo piece.
3x Wings of Light: Universal Supreme King searcher (have you noticed how that side keeps searching itself? Yeah it's still janky as fuck. Somehow.)
3x Trickstar Reincarnation: Key card #1! Basically resets your opponent's hand (and can revive a Trickstar, but that's irrelevant here.)
3x Oops!: Self-destruction button. Pops 1 of your own monsters, which is A Lot more useful than it looks on the surface.
3x Trap Tracks: Great role consolidator, and arguably the lynchpin of this deck. Pops 1 monster, sets 1 trap from the deck- precisely what you need to pull off the combo. It does have antisynergy with Trap Trick, though, so do watch out for that.
1x Soul of The Supreme Celestial King: First (and better, and costlier) choice of your two gateways to Z-ARC. If the opponent somehow interrupts your silly goofy combo, you can spring this on them midway through their own combo, and..... uhhh.... pray for a win by beatdown. Lmao.
3x Disturbance Strategy: Key card #2!! Alternate option to Reincarnation, resets your opponent's hand via shuffling instead of banishing their starter opening.
2x Trap Trick: Worse Trap Tracks, but useful in a jiffy. Gets you to Oops, Reincarnation, Disturbance, or one of the two Souls. Whichever it is you're missing. Again, do beware this can't tutor Trap Tracks (or you won't be able to resolve more Traps for the turn).
3x Soul of The Supreme King: One good ol' Z-ARC at the small cost of, uh, half your LP. This isn't half as bad as it looks, trust me- it's actually more reliable than its Celestial counterpart, since it doesn't need Gate Magician to stay on field.
Extra Deck (15 cards):
Up to 9x Dimension Dragons (or variants), as fodder for Gate Magician and Celestial Soul.
3x Flex spots where you put whatever, because empty ED spots lowkey look bad.
3x Supreme King Z-ARC: Key card #3!!! The star of this hotpot of cards, widely known for board wipes... and significantly less so for his Pendulum effects. This is why you need a self-destruct button, by the way.....
...Figured out the combo yet?
Steps:
1) Go first. If you go second, then what are you even doing? Magic your way into it, idk (I did say this was of highly fluctuating consistency).
2) Cycle through the bajillion searches and draws in your deck to end on 1 each of Z-ARC (or a way to summon him at the start of turn 2), a way to destroy him (Oops or Trap Tracks), a hand reset (Reincarnation or Disturbance- or Trap Trick, if you can't get to either), by the end of turn 1. If Trap Tracks was your choice of pop, this excuses not having a hand reset because you can just dig it out from the Deck.
3) Turn 2 begins. In the draw phase, flip your pop. This gets Z-ARC to the Pendulum zone, and from there you proceed to the standby phase.
4) In said phase, flip up the hand reset so your opponent has to redraw a hand. This is where Z-ARC's second Pendulum effect triggers... and promptly destroys the new hand they just drew.
Yes.
Every single card of it.
Congratulations; they can't start a thing now, and will either quit on the spot or... watch you tickle them with battle damage?
(Sometimes they can still play, but kicking off a combo from the GY is something special to just a few decks. Besides, the sight of their hand going POOF! is still priceless, even if it doesn't win you the game then and there.)
Aaaand there you have it! Results are pretty much guaranteed to be atrocious, but hey, it's still a fun experience to pull off at times!! Here's your cookie for sticking around, by the way- have fun dueling, and happy holidays!
(shhhhh it's still the 25th in some places-)

Soul of the Supreme Celestial King
I desperately want to see the details on this card more clearly. I'm sure this card looks fantastic in bigger form (or even holographic on an actual card), but as it stands here it kinda looks more like a bright, complicated mess. The bottom half of it isn't all that bad, and Supreme King Gate Magician is clearly visible even with all the lighting effects and cute sparkles around him. The top half though... It really truly is unfortunate that all the detail is drowned out by the light color choice, overlapping patterns, and the glow effect right in the center of the sigil that blurs everything within to a glowy blob. I so wish they had used more contrasting colors here; the green and blue in the background has promise, but it's not quite enough to combat the glow effects.
Rating: 7/10

Cover archetype of Age of Overlord features new LIGHT Z-ARC support, including:
**A retrain of Astrograph Sorcerer, called Supreme King Gate Magician, or Magician of Supreme King Gate.
**A Tuner Darkwurm retrain called Supreme King (Servant) Dragon Lightwurm.
**A retrain of Z-ARC called Supreme King Heavenly Dragon - Odd-Eyes Arcray Dragon.
***Yes, this card’s name is literally a combination of Z-ARC, and Ray. Its “Heavenly” title comes from Odd-Eyes Revolution Dragon.
**A new Pendulum Continuous Spell, called Pendulum Evolution. Its artwork features the Pendulums of all the Yu-boys.
**One new Quick-Play Spell, called Dragon of Light Wing, or Light Wing Dragon.
**Two new Normal Traps.
***One of them is called Miracle of the Supreme King Dragon.
***The other is called the Supreme King Heavenly Dragon’s Soul.
****First card is a homage to Beyond the Pendulum’s Kanji name, which is read as Kiseki (Miracle), but means Trajectory.
****Second card is a homage to Soul of the Supreme King.
********************************
Because Judai is confirmed to be in this set, we might get support for the other Supreme King as well, presumably also uncorrupted.
Since early sets of each series tend to have additional cards, there is likely going to be another card to match this.

Edit 2: Corrected the tag.

Magecraft CE’s + Descriptions (Part 2)
Finally getting part 2 of this done! Part 1 is over here
Crystallized Wisdom Chocolate
Tumblr media
Valentine's chocolate from Brynhild. See, it's perfect for you. I used runes to freeze it, so it will never melt again. You can display it eternally, or you can eat it immediately. ...Oh, I'm sorry. If you eat it, you may get a stomach ache. (A/N: I just think it’s neat that she used runes for this)
Threefold Barrier (I actually have no idea what this description is trying to say)
Tumblr media
Fugu, Kongou, Dakatsu, Taiten, Chougyou, Ouken. The triple-layered barrier that he's surrounded himself with, as if he's woven a web out of spidering threads covering the ground and all spaces, flat surfaces, and three-dimensional objects. This circle is an unwavering philosophy. Those lacking wisdom, be ashamed.
Vivid Dance of Fists
Tumblr media
"AzoLto!" This is a slightly new type of modern magecraft, a style of fistfighting blended with the sounds of music.
Mystic Eyes of Distortion
Tumblr media
Bend, bend, bend... Distort. The repeated words became a curse, twisting and destroying everything within her sight.
Repeat Magic (idk what this description is about either)
Tumblr media
A revolution in spell-casting! These old farts are seriously stubborn. Printing technology has ruined the Mystics, communications technology has poisoned the Mystics? Copy, repeat, that's totally fine by me! Like these words being propagated by a vulgar crowd, spell-casting, too, one time should be enough!
EXP Card: Kuji Kanesada
Tumblr media
An ancient sword with a 9-character inscription on the back. This historic weapon is a Mystic that rivals magecraft.
Volumen Hydrargyrum
Tumblr media
In the hands of a skilled wielder, Volumen Hydrargyrum's silver stream can turn into swords, its waves into shields, and even its splashes can become deadly.
This is the supreme Mystic Code of the Archibald family, the depths of which an ordinary mage could never pierce. All you lowly creatures who called yourself mages, you will know that your toys are of no match before true arts.
Self Geass Scroll
Tumblr media
This is a set of laws that are unbreakable by mages, a type of spell that is so powerful it even binds the soul. When the contract is signed... No one can break it, nor escape from it. ...Only for the ones who signed it, that is.
EXP Craft: Burrowing Worms
Tumblr media
Many creatures are often chosen as familiars, but not many mages would choose insects, especially those insects that are not of this world. This insect is the informant to hell itself. As a parasite, the host will gain various abilities, but ultimately, this insect's true nature is to devour, multiply, and destroy. There's nothing that awaits the host except terrifying demise.
Key of the King’s Law (apparently a Mystic Code! Who knew!)
Tumblr media
In the Age of Gods, where man's domain was still limited, a king gathered all the treasure across all the lands and stored them inside a vault he had built. Those were known as the origins of all treasures that followed. The evidence of all mankind's wisdom and knowledge. People started to praise it as the "Gate of the Gods." Truly, it is. Eventually, the "vault" itself became a Mystic more mysterious than the treasures it held. Also, the key to the vault can only be used by the King. The key will constantly change its shape, and the vault will constantly store new treasures. Without the wisdom to instantly understand those Mystics, the key will never be able to open the vault's gate.
Bronze-Link Manipulator
Tumblr media
A Mystic Code designed by a certain talented mage to cover for her own physical limitations.
However, its true function is not to assist in her daily life, but to be used in battle. It is said upon unleashing its true combat capability, it could even rival the proud El-Melloi family's Volumen Hydrargyrum.
Ath nGabla
Tumblr media
NA Translation: When the Child of Light, Cú Chulainn, became aware of his imminent death, he tied himself to a pillar and would not allow himself to fall to the ground. To Celtic soldiers, this formation is the proof of their oath to be invincible and determined, that they shall never retreat as long as they are alive.
Direct Translation:  Upon realizing his imminent death, the Child of Light, Cú Chulainn, tied himself to a pillar. Not as a form of defeat, but to proudly welcome his end on his feet. To the Celtic soldiers, this formation was proof of their oath to be determined and indomitable, as fleeing was absolutely unforgivable.
Jeweled Sword Zelretch
Tumblr media
This is a Mystic Code designed and created by Zelretch, a magician known and feared as the "Kaleidoscope." Its true form is not a sword, but a staff. Although limited, it can draw out magical energy leaked from parallel worlds...Making the Second Magic a reality and creating slashes of light from concentrated energy.
Origin Bullet (doesn’t actually talk about the Mystic Code)
Tumblr media
NA Translation: His origin is to cut and connect. He has cut away many things in his life, and struggled to reconnect with even more. The image reflected in the broken windows... May it be the one from those beautiful days.
Direct Translation: An origin of severing and binding. Having discarded many things and stroven desperately to connect even more. Afterimages reflected in a cracked window. I beg you, leave those beautiful days as they are.
Prelati’s Spellbook
Tumblr media
NA Translation: It's said that the book he accepted is bound in human skin. It was composed of curses towards humanity in every conceivable way. By rights, the book deserves to be burned. However, as he is now, it was the truth of the world.
"You have crushed my saint." He screamed to the heavens. "Therefore, I too shall trample the miracles you have created. I shall slaughter those pure and lovable children to my heart's content." The man's pitch black eyes were utterly stagnant...
Direct Translation: The book he received was said to have been made from human skin. In every conceivable way, it was composed of curses towards humanity. This book is something that inherently deserves to be burned. However, to the current him, it was the truth of the world. [You have trampled my Saint.] He screamed to the heavens. [Therefore, I too shall trample the miracles you have created. I shall slaughter those pure and lovable children to my heart's content.] The man's pitch black eyes were utterly stagnant―
Sharing of Pain (the full description would be too long and also this is Chloe so I refuse to write out all of it)
Tumblr media
NA Translation: Whew, curse access point, transfer of ownership complete! Now your pain is mine! ♪ Though it's a simple spell, it's surprisingly annoying... It tickles, and makes something shiver in the depths of my body.
Direct Translation:  Whew, curse access point, transfer of ownership complete! With this your pain is now mine♪ Though it's a simple ritual, to be so surprisingly flustered... It tickles, and makes me a bit excited inside.

Maya’s more refined and sorted out backstory and character sheet. also picrew
Character name: Maya aep Anlarr
Race: half-elf
Gender: female
Aliases: Maya of Leyda, Folie Evall [Crazy Horse in Hen Llinge]
Titles: Archmistress [when other mages care about it], The Royal Advisor [long ago], Enid's Pet [not the nicest one]
Age: ~150 [at the time of TW3]
Sexuality: bi & poly
Place of origin: Elven communities in the Blue Mountains
Lodge Of Sorceresses or Brotherhood: Maya was a member of the Council - merely for a few weeks before it and the whole Brotherhood were disbanded. Later she was involved in bringing back the Chapter and rest of the infrastructure and again become a member of the Council, yet later she decided to leave her position. She was invited to join the Lodge of Sorceresses, but because of other obligations at the time, she had to decline. In 1272 she traveled to Loc Muine to vote against the creation of the third Chapter and Brotherhood.
Hair and eye color: dark brown and even darker brown
Notable features: freckles, curly hair, slightly pointy ears, smaller canines
Combat skills: Maya has enough training to in 'classical' combat to get by, but she prefers her magic to bow & arrows or sword.
Powers: As Archmistress of Abjuration she has expertise in this particular area of magical knowledge. And she can and will cast fireballs.
Training: Training in the School of Mirt, where she finished her education mere weeks before the whole city was destroyed by Falka.
Signature Spells: [found in trpg, except for the last one, which is homebrew]
Luthien’s Quill - Named for its inventor, Luthien of Ebbing, Luthien’s Quill can etch writing or drawings into any solid surface. It cannot be used on living creatures.
Urien’s Shelter - Urien’s Shelter, created by the nautical air magician Urien of Cidaris, allows the mage to negate hostile weather effects around them. This negates extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, and snow.
Stammelford’s Earthquake - Stammelford’s spell disrupts the ground and creates a jagged, crumbling terrain, everyone in the area sink into the ground and might die from suffocation. After the spell ends, the ground stops churning but it will remain shattered.
Carn Mithe - Spell created by Maya of Leyda to honor victims from Mirt. Mage casting this spell inscribe a harmful glyph either on a surface or within an object that can be closed to conceal the glyph. The glyph is nearly invisible and once triggered people in the area of effect can: be stunned, fall asleep, lose their minds, or fall dead.
Wealth: Maya doesn't spend much, but she maintains a few bank accounts, one in Kovir, one with Vivaldis, one in Nilfgaard...
In-depth personality:
People often see Maya as an artistic, sensitive soul, which she is, to a point. She already lived long enough and through many tragedies, that there are no traces of youthful naivety in her.  She knows ups and downs of life and just tries to make the best of it.
She values honesty and want’s to always be truthful about her intentions and plans. Secrecy and plots are one of many reasons why she stopped appearing on kings’ courts. She values integrity, the will to stand by one's ideals no matter what's the political climate or what opportunities arise. She would values also honor, but she finds it hard to define. The way some people use this concept as a shield... Is what are Scoia'tael doing honorable or not? Was denouncing them honorable or was it a betrayal? And what about mages? They stopped teaching ethics in Aretuza and Ban Ard long before Falka’s Rebellion…
Growing up among elves and then spending her first adult years in man’s lands, taught her to categorize the world around her. There’re men and elder races, there’re artificial order and natural chaos, there’re laws and traditions. There is dualism, and there is a choice - what world you want to live in? For Maya, despite years spent in cities and towns, the call of forests and trees, the elven blood is always a little bit louder.
Maya enjoys anonymity, how she could go on a stroll in Tretogor or Ard Carraigh and be just some noble’s beloved daughter, instead of royal advisor. How she could one day disappear from the court, by simply walking through the front door and then settle down in some small village, deep in the forests, that required the assistance of a clever woman. Not many sorceresses can do this, and even less actually want it.
Maybe, when she was a child or teen, there were ambitions and dreams, but she’s is no longer bothered by unobtainable. Peace is nice. Simplicity. Living a life that makes you content - that’s actually easier than it sounds.
Family:
Mother was a human and while she agreed to carry a child, she knew she would never be happy living among elves. Maybe she was right to climb off mountains and start from scratch somewhere in Kaedwen. Anlarr on the other hand… Anlarr aen Mar’muire was one of the rare kind in elven society - too young to remember Aelirenn’s face, and later too old to die stupid death when Aedirn entered Dol Blathanna. Second, he realized his daughter might have magical talents he sought all over the Blue Mountains for elven teachers willing to work with her. In the end, Maya landed up in human school anyway. In later years they met each other on a few occasions, but the last time she heard of him, he survived Drakenborg.
Backstory:
Maya was born in the 1140s - sometimes it feels like a whole eternity ago, sometimes like a blink. Her father, Anlarr wanted to give her everything, as any father would do, he tried. One of the tutors he found, elven mages willing to work with a child that's not entirely Aen Seidhe, was Francesca Findabair. Enid. But soon after girls become friends, she departed to study in Aretuza, and mages from Mith got interested in Maya herself.
Maya studied in Mirt, the city of mages, clever and intelligent, and so ready to shine. Mages were being hunted, being killed so frequently that the Chapter gave her position in Supreme Council even tho she couldn't be older than 20 at the time. And then Mirt was destroyed by forces of Falka. And even more people died.
But Falka wasn't invincible, and when her Rebellion eventually died out, and all kings were again happy to see mages in their castles, Maya found her place in the court of Dynasty of the Unicorn of Kaedwen. Partially because her monicker 'of Leyda' suggested she is kaedweni in heart, partially because it was nearer to beloved and dearly missed the Blue Mountains.
Most of the time, living among humans, Maya preferred to hide the elven part of her heritage. She learned in a hard and painful way that mages aren't untouchable. But when anti-human voices grew lauder and lauder, she decided it was enough so her. And found her new place on the edge of human settlements and elven mountains, where both could ask for the help of a witch is they needed it.
Years passed and eventually, the one asking for help was Enid an Gleanna. Daisy of the Valleys. They were fiends one, Maya helped her with the restoration of the magical Chapter, but then, with passing decades, they have grown distant. Francesca send her with other young elves to the Nilfgaard, 'to help them wherever they would need magical assistance'. But didn't do it without revealing the risks of this whole operation. So Maya knew from the start what fate awaited Scoia'tael. And didn't tell any of them.
At first, the other solders called her Folie Evall, thanks to her crazy plans and restlessness. But once they were all arrested and stod over the Ravine of the Hydra, watched her getting her cuffs unlocked by redanian officer, they screamed way more hurtful things. "Pet of that Bitch from the Valley". Enid's pet.
Maybe Maya could walk thought the gates of Dol Blathanna, but she never actually tried to. Instead, she started anew in Novigrad, Aldersber, Tretogor, Vizima, moving from one northern city to another.

Appearance
Gilgamesh is a tall and dignified young man with golden hair standing up like a blazing flame. He is described as handsome with an elegant face, and his eyes, crimson like blood, are visibly not those of a human and give off a mysterious radiance that makes people wither. He has a "perfect, Golden-proportioned body" described as emanating majesty that makes flames surrounding him afraid to come close, and his very soul glows golden. He normally wears golden armor that makes a heavy first impression on those he encounters.
Personality
Gilgamesh greatly differs from most of the sovereigns and leaders in the history of humanity. He placed himself before his nation and the people, and he had neither the curiosity nor desire to conquer, possibly because he had too much in the beginning. He takes the time to enjoy himself, mastering every treasure and every pleasure. With a conviction to treat good and evil equally, he has no need for other ideologies and ways of life when the absolute basis is "himself." His actions and way of life left him alone, so Enkidu compared rectifying his attitude to rectifying his solitude.
He follows a simple style of ruling, acquiring worthy treasures and guarding them. He exterminates those that stand in the way of his enjoyment without exception. All living beings are "something that is about to die" or "something that will one day die." If he decides that there is a "being that should die this moment", he will simply execute the sentence no matter if they should be a sage or a god. If it is an astute judgment synonymous to universal truth, or even a misrule during a drunken stupor, anything carried out by him, the absolute king, becomes the indisputable sentence of the king.
He is extremely arrogant and selfish, believing himself to be the sole potentate and only king of the world even many millennia after his death. He cannot acknowledge the authority of anyone, including that of other kings and especially that of the gods. He considers all those around him as inferior due to this fact, viewing all other kings and heroes as a collection of mongrels, and loathes any individual who would try to be on the same level as him. The only exception is Enkidu, who he considered to be his equal and only friend.
He believes that all who look upon him when he honors them with his presence, should be able to recognize him instantly, and feels that the ignorance of not knowing him is worthy of death. If anyone so much as looks upon him with a "lowly and filthy" gaze, it is an intolerable disgrace for a nobleman who claims the title of the king more so than anyone else. This is enough to make that person a complete malefactor in his eyes, instantly marked for death (Except Merodach, which was his leader). He doesn't view the modern world as worthy of having him rule over it because humanity has become too weak.
Gilgamesh has a natural disposition to collect magical artifacts for his treasury, which lead to collecting all the treasures of the world. The treasures he amassed went without use until his fight with Enkidu, causing him to develop the "bad habit" of utilizing them as projectiles. The act of collecting is something that has never brought him true joy due to essentially being on the same level as breathing to him, but he still persists at it nonetheless. He lives by the Golden Rule, only accepting the finest of luxuries, and those who fall to it are utterly blinded by money.
He is prone to underestimating his opponents and views combat as a game of amusement. His gigantic ego prevents him from acknowledging his opponent as a real threat and he does not battle them seriously. He will properly fight those he respects, or simply utilize more power than necessary on a whim depending on the situation.
He was often told by people that his nature is cruel and heartless. Never hearing people's opinions, a tyrant who holds only his own standards as absolute. Pretentiously displaying an extremely gaudy golden armor, this exceptional magician releases his excessive treasures as if abundant water.
Gilgamesh is a collector of treasures. His favorite phrase is "I've assembled all treasures in the land", but that is not a metaphor. He has assembled, stored and sealed away every sample of technology that was developed in his age. His argument is "humans are foolish, but there is value in the tools, the civilization that humans create".
Abilities
Gilgamesh can be said as one of the most ancient magicians on Earth, as he was walking on the continent for more than 5,000 years, he also had the ability to absorbed "Power of the World" (世界の力(せかいのちから) Sekai no Chikara?) into his own body by the Clothes of Kishar ever since, making his own mana reserve increased over and over to adapted the mana from the core like when the intestine received more food than normal so it expanded itself to contained that amount more easier the next time. Gilgamesh claims that his current mana reserve was so vast that it can comparable to at least 20,000 average magicians. In other words, he's nigh-fallible from mana exhaustion. Moreover, over the course of 5 millennia absorbing the Power of the World had made Gilgamesh possessed the 'connection' between himself and the core. Gilgamesh described the 'connection' like an umbilical cord that sends nutrition and oxygen (Mana) to himself, it can be said that Gilgamesh has an infinite amount of mana from the 'connection' as long as he intends to open the connection to him. The 'connection' was also able to grant Gilgamesh's longevity (and if he still had the 'connection', Gilgamesh can be virtually immortal from the infinite mana source) and also regeneration to the extent that its power was only a step lower than a Magic God. However, the 'connection' between himself and the core was unstable, as sometimes he received too little mana or on the other occasion he received too much that his body almost exploded from trying to contain it. As such, he orders the blacksmith of Babylon to created the relic called the Key of Anu to control the flow of mana from the core, making the refilled process stable. The 'connection' could also be 'disrupted' through Touma's Imagine Breaker, but only for the very short amount of time until the 'connection' returns to him, Gilgamesh stated that even if the connection has been annihilated, he would only receive minor backslash or there's nothing that disadvantages him at all.
In his reign as the king of Uruk, Gilgamesh has learned through every profession possible, strategy, politics, construction, psychology, martial arts, and any other profession ever created by humanity. Making him as the 'king' of the jack-of-all-trades. Gilgamesh had also learned the arts of magic in Babylon and had mastered it enough that he can be the replacement of the הקוסם העליון (Sorcerer Supreme) of Uruk, even though he clearly denied it as 'I, who was the king, shouldn't and never taken the role of mere commoners' and right now he holds the title of Magic God itself. Gilgamesh stated later that numerous artifact in his Treasury was enough to give him 100% success for any magic he used, making him one of the very dangerous threats in Sirrush, and the one that should be eliminated the most since he holds every power and knowledge of an entire world.
Gate of Babylon
Gate of Babylon: King's Authority (王の権限 (ゲート・オブ・バビロン)  Ō no Kengen (Gēto Obu Babiron)?, lit. "King's Authority"): Is the phase created unintentionally by Gilgamesh. It was unknown when Gilgamesh possessed the unique type of phase in his command, but he first realized it when he was ruling as the King and training his sorcery. When he first trying to tamper it, Gilgamesh had somehow been sucked into the phase and stuck in it for a very long time until he able to get out through sheer desire of 'wanted to get out'. Gilgamesh later discovered that the phase can be manipulated into any appearance or functionality as he desired, the resulted phase Gilgamesh created in the Gate of Babylon are showed in this list:
1. Gate of Babylon: King's Treasure (王の財宝 (キングストレジャー)  Ō no Zaihō (Kingusu Torejā)?, lit. "King's Treasure"): Is the primary phase and the phase Gilgamesh uses the most. In this phase, Gilgamesh puts all of his and the others Magical artifacts and relics he had at his disposal into it, making it literally the King's Treasury. With the use of Bab-ilu (and later on through his own will alone), he connects the real world to the phase, opening an "invisible door" that allows for the contents to pass through upon the user's command.  Allowing for the easy access to the items of the treasury, he is able to pick and utilize them as he pleases. The items that pass through the gate forming glowing ripples in the empty air as they appear. He can summon items directly into his hand, pull out weapons from directly behind him, or prepare numerous weapons in the air, loaded like bullets. The treasury can be said as the infinite "ultimate expression of overwhelming force." as he can ready numerous weapons, letting their hilts stick out when he is waiting and instantly showing the blades when about to fight. They move and take aim at the target according to Gilgamesh's will, allowing him to fire without having to even touch them.
Gilgamesh can send out as little as one or two weapons or enough at a single time that it becomes comparable to a torrent of "gushing water" directed at the opponent. He will increase the amount depending on the situation, opening the Gate wider to reflect his anger or when forced to become more serious. He will generally use weak treasures unless the situation should call for his highest class of treasures, such as in the case of Ollerus's Hliðskjálf. He can prepare and launch dozens, hundreds, and even thousands if he is serious. Upon firing them, he can allow them to pierce the ground after striking the target, causing a large amount of destruction with each weapon that is comparable to something being blown up by an explosive blast, or he can instantly return them to the vault before they hit the ground at such a speed that they appear to have been illusionary. He utilizes a Magical artifact to retrieve any weapons left on the battlefield, instantly dissipating and returning them to the vault. He can also leave them out if he wishes, such as when they have been "broken" from Kamijou Touma's Imagine Breaker contact.
Upon snapping his fingers or without even a gesture, the weapons can be continuously launched at the opponent without a break. Each weapon has the ability to cause certain death to an opponent, and they are shot with enough force to repel a swing from Marian's Surtr summon. While it is possible to block many of the strikes, to do so without knowing the abilities of the weapons can be seen as suicidal. He will generally fight at long range while shooting projectiles from behind him directly at the opponent, but he can also freely move while the portals also moving with him. He can freely deploy the portals mid-air while piloting Vimana or using Armor of Nintinugga's float function as well. When fighting at extremely close range, he shows the ability to loose weapons from above, below, and to the side of the opponent. He can also summon weapons completely around the target for a full 360-degree barrage that should generally leave not even a single trace of flesh from the opponent. When closed upon by a target, or simply to play with the opponent, he can freely draw weapons into his hands for melee combat. The ability to handle them depends upon the user's capability. Gilgamesh makes use of the many unknown abilities of the weapons, and constantly switches them to keep his opponent off-guard.
2. Gate of Babylon: King's Everdistant Utopia (王の全て遠き理想郷 (キングスユートピア)  Ō no Subete Tōki Risōkyō (Kingusu Yūtopia)?, lit. "King's Everdistant Utopia"): Is the phase where Gilgamesh created as his 'ultimate defense'. Gilgamesh claims that if he can enter the phase before his consciousness had gone completely any damage he received before (ranged from just a plain fatal damage, irreversible curse, onto erased/deleted from existence.) would be immediately healed and automatically rendered his body to be at its best condition. Not only that the phase
King of Uruk's utopia phase in the form of Babylon city.
grant Gilgamesh's 'instant absolute regeneration', but it also completely shields and isolating its user from the real world beyond the words of 'defending' or 'reflecting'. Gilgamesh stated that the phase was automatically 'created' another phase inside itself like a layer on top over and over and over an infinite amount of times, making even Othinus's ability of phase manipulation or Aleister Crowley's attempt completely futile to breakthrough into the utopia. The individual is shielded from all destructive interference in the physical realm, from possible parallel worlds, and multidimensional communication as far as the twelfth dimension. It is on the level of Magic God's magic, that not even another Magic God themselves could interfere with it.
However, the 'instant absolute regeneration' can only be fully used when he's in the phase, and that he cannot stay in the phase at all times. So he instead creates the armor called Armor of Nintinugga that can partially holds the power of the phase in the real world like a substitute of the phase itself to the extent that the wearer of the armor is granted with potent healing, allowing for a critical and fatal wound to be rapidly repaired to restore the wielder's health.

Supreme King Gate Zero ———————————————— If you control "Supreme King Z-ARC", you take no damage. Once per turn, if you have "Supreme King Gate Infinity" in your other Pendulum Zone: You can destroy both cards in your Pendulum Zones, and if you do, add 1 "Polymerization" Spell Card or "Fusion" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand. ———————————————— Once per turn: You can target 1 other face-up card you control; destroy both it and this card, and if you do, Special Summon 1 Dragon-Type Fusion or Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck, but its ATK and DEF become 0, it has its effects negated, also it cannot be used as a Material for a Synchro or Xyz Summon. If this card in the Monster Zone is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can place this card in your Pendulum Zone. ———————————————— Can Be Found In: Maximum Crisis (MACR-EN017)
The role of monsters in a Deck are mainly reduced between support and winning conditions. While many monsters can lead Duels with attacks and effects, is thanks to those with setup potential that will provide both setups and good performance. From working as materials to managing certain cards with their abilities, support cards will often be the true potential from the whole Deck as they quickly pull out our best summons and strategies.
"Supreme King Gate Zero" is a monster that compensates its awful stats with an array of effects as well one of the lowest Scales in the whole game. In the Pendulum Zone "Zero" obtains different effects depending of one of two Supreme King members on our field, with the archetype's lead monster "Supreme King Z-ARC" unlocking complete nullification of any damage (Even if "Z-ARC" ends in our Pendulum Zone), and its partner "Supreme King Gate Infinity" in our other Pendulum Zone giving us the ability to search for a Fusion of Polymeriaiton SPell Card in exchange of destroying both Supreme King Gates. As a monster it won't take a very different role for the build, as can destroy itself along another card of ours to summon a Fusion or Synchro Dragon from our Extra Deck with its stats and effects negated as well limiting its uses as material. Last but not least important, "Zero" can place itself in an empty Pendulum Zone of ours once destroyed by any source. Overall, "Zero" obvious purpose is to provide several benefits to the archetype that works for, with the ability arround "Z-ARC" being the final reward once we achieve our main goal.
Despite its potential role arround its archetype, "Zero" severely lacks in options when compared to the rest of Supreme Kings. Most of its availability will come from the effects of "Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm", a monster that either places "Zero" in our Pendulum Zone or adds it to our hand depending of its circumstances. On the bright side "Darkwurm" is one of the most reusable members in the build, so is quite possible to keep looking for "Zero" as well "Supreme King Gate Infinity" to activate its searching effect. Later on "Zero" will most likely be Pendulum Summoned back to our field to use its summoning effect, and since that will trigger its last effect not only we will obtain a Dragon from our Extra Deck but also have it in our Pendulum Zone ready to use its Scale and other abilities. Overall, "Zero" might lack in early game options, but with the help of Pendulum Summon and its own effect it will be back and forth as the Duel progresses.
The uses arround "Zero" are quite versatile depending of the monsters available and the cards we can interact with. Obviously the archetype's goal is to summon "Supreme King Z-ARC", and while this monster is already powerful on its own "Zero" will assure no damage goes through our weaker monsters or even from certain effects (Even our own). "Supreme King Gate Infinity" on the other hand is not just about using their low and high Scales to cover almost most Pendulum Summons in the game, but give us the chance to trade themselves for a Fusion Spell Card to setup one of the many ways we can summon "Z-ARC" as well other potential Fusion Monsters. The same goes for the monster effect of "Zero", as although trades itself with another card to summon a Fusion or Synchro Dragon with very limited uses, it will be yet another approach for the arrival of "Z-ARC" and its Fusion Summon. Let's not forget the last effect of "Zero", as while can act as coverage from certain opponent actions it will most likely end in our Pendulum Zone after using its ability to sumon a Dragon or even by effects like "Torrential Tribute" or its own and "Infinity" abilities to summon Dragons.
"Supreme King Gate Zero" provides a big array of benefits to not only two particular monsters, but overall the entire archetype that works with. Its effects will try to aim towards "Supreme King Z-ARC" regardless of the damage protection or not, while "Supreme King Gate Infinity" provides either its massive Scale or the various interactions with "Zero" to obtain Fusion cards and/or Dragons. Unfortunately like most Pendulum strategies the arrival of the Extra Monster Zone damaged the overall performance of "Zero" in some situations, like the mere fact that cannot summon Dragons from the Extra Deck until either said Zone is clear (If for example we Pendulum Summon “Zero” in that area to use its effect immediately) or we obtain a proper Link Monster. Adding the fact that is solely supported by "Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm" it further damages its image to the point that might be easily replaced by cards like Magicians to achieve similar outcomes. However, with a massive list of effects to provide several benefits in one way or another as well one of the lowest Scales in the whole game, "Supreme King Gate Zero" deserves one or two copies in the build to provide one of many supporting options we might need in several situations.
Personal Rating: B+
+ One of the lowest Scales in the entire game + Grants damage immunity if "Supreme King Z-ARC" is on the field + Let us search for a Polymerization or Fusion Spell Card by destroying itself along "Supreme King Gate Infinity" + Can destroy itself along another card to summon a Fusion or Synchro Dragon + If destroyed as a monster will be placed in our Pendulum Zone
- Reliance on other cards to use its effects - Very limited uses arround the summoned Dragon as well the Extra Monster Zone forbidding the use of this effect in some circumstances - Almost complete lack of support - Might be overshadowed by other options obtaining similar results

So, let’s do the new Z-ARC cards (Z-ARCards?), invididually.
This bad boy right here, Pendulum Evolution, is based off Structure Deck: Pendulum Evolution from the OCG.
Each one here represents a Yuboy, and they are in the order of their appearance (and their Dragons’ Magician forms’ set order in Pendulum Evolution).
**Reddish-orange one is Yuya.
**Blueish one is Yuto.
**Green one is Yugo.
**Purple one is Yuri.
The colors superficially resemble their eye glows during their Berserk Modes, and their Duel Disk’s colors, but more specifically meant to reference En Cards.
**Yuya’s Pendulum is reddish-orange, because that is the color that represents Effect Monsters (see, Herald of Orange Light), which En Flowers negates.
***It is also vaguely similar to an orange tomato.
***Orange is shown to draw “an arc of light”, referring to the Pendulum Summon chant, but also Ray’s Beyond the Pendulum form’s Kanji name, Trajectory Magician. (The actual arc itself is reddish-fuchsia, alluding to Ray.)
***En Flowers’ card artwork actually has a reddish-orangish glow.
***While some versions of Dark Magician, and Dark Magician Girl have orangeish background, this colour is more likely in reference to Gandora’s official non-animé artworks, particularly Gandora-X’s aura.
**Yuto’s Pendulum (or at least, presumably), is bright blue, this alludes to Astral, and other stuff associated with him, such as Emperor’s Key, or Astral cards.
***It is also vaguely similar to a blue eggplant.
***Blue one more or less has the same colour as Yuya’s regular pendulum, alluding to his status as his aibou.
***Printed version of Number 39: Utopia also has a blue background.
***En Birds actually as a blue glow/artwork, despite having a yellow gem in its bracelet form.
***Black Fang Magician, Dark Rebellion’s Magician form also has a blue aura.
**Yugo’s Pendulum (or at least, presumably) is bright green, though this isn’t as bright as Rin’s hair. It is closer to Synchro Gates.
***It is also vaguely similar to an unripe banana.
***Though it is not clear in the most pictures, the printed version of White Wing Magician has greenish aura.
***Printed Version of Stardust Dragon also has a green background.
***En Winds is more or less the same colour.
**Yuri’s Pendulum (or at least presumably) is dark purple. This is not similar to his Berserk Mode eyes, but rather to his purple aura.
***It is vaguely similar to a dark purple plum, or dark purple red cabbage.
***It is similar to Elemental HERO Neos’s regular artwork’s background glow, which is purple.
****It is also similar to Yubel variations.
***It is actually dissimilar to Purple Poison Magician, who has a bluer aura to match En Moon.
****
I have already discussed the effects, but here goes:
**First effect supports Main Deck Pendulums with 2500 ATK. This effect is designed to switch Astrograph Sorcerer with Supreme King Gate Magician, but it can work with other cards, such as Odd-Eyes variants, Yuya’s Pendulum Spellcasters etc.
**Second effect supports Extra Deck Pendulums. This one is more important, since not only this support Z-ARC directly, it can also work with the Odd-Eyes variants.
**Third effect works for Z-ARC specifically. It grants him the ability to attack all monsters your opponent controls.
***This is the inverse of Z-ARC’s regular strategy, as seen in Supreme Face-Off, which forces the opponent to attack his monsters.
****
The effects, and artwork seem to imply Yu-boys were involved in Astrograph Sorcerer’s purification, since, as seen with the individual pendulums’ colors, they also carry the essence of En Cards.
This probably ties into Beyond the Pendulum (Ray’s current monster form)’s card destruction effect, which requires the Pendulum Summon of two cards with different original Levels. The original card was designed for Gentrude, and Ladyange, the representations of Yuya’s self-image, and Yuya’s image of Yuzu, but presumably Astrograph Sorcerer, and Chronograph Sorcerer, Z-ARC’s Dark Magician, and Dark Magician Girl equivalents also work, latter of which is not appearing here.
Though, since Soul of the Supreme King Heavenly Dragon showcases Astrograph Sorcerer being purified after Z-ARC, the destruction effect is likely initially used to destroy Z-ARC’s backrow (Supreme King Gates, Supreme Face-Off, Supreme Presence), and then the Supreme King Servant Dragons. So 4 Yu-boys correspond to 8 cards.
****
I guess if these pendulums get physically released, Yuya will likely end up wearing his second one as a bracelet to match Yuzu’s, since this is technically just another form of En Flowers. Or he will have worse taste, and wear them by tying them together the way Ray does in her Beyond the Pendulum form.

Celtic Pathworking
These are the Gods/Goddesses I will include in my book. It will be a ceremonial magic grimoire dedicated to Celtic-Irish Gods and Goddesses
Celtic Pathworking-Irish
1.     Brighid-Celtic (Irish). One of the triple Goddesses of the Celtic pantheon. She is the daughter of The Dagda, the All Father of the Tuatha de Danann, one of the most ancient people of Northern Europe. Some say there are actually three Brighids; one is in charge of poetry and inspiration; one is in charge of midwifery and healing, and the last is in charge of crafts and smiths.
She probably began as a sun Goddess. According to legend, she was born at sunrise and a tower of flame beamed from her head.
As Goddess of fire and water, she is immortalized by many wells and springs. Most important of her monuments, though, was a shrine at Kildare where there was a perpetual flame burning for Brighid. It was tended by nineteen virgins called the Daughters of the Flame, wearing deep crimson habits and bearing swords. They would not talk to men, nor could men come near the shrine. Her feast is St.Brighids Days in Ireland and is the Pagan Festival of Imbolc
When Christianity began its onset, so loved was Brighid that she was made a saint. However, the upkeep on her flame was considered pagan by the church and it was extinguished out of more than a thousand years of burning. St. Brigit remains one of the most popular Irish saints today, along with Saint Patrick.
Identical to Juno, Queen of Heaven. Symbolizes human potential. Also known as Brigit, Brigid, Brigindo, Bride.
Dark the bitter winter,  cutting its sharpness,  but Bride's mantle,  brings spring to Ireland.
 2.       Morrigan-"The Great Queen". Celtic Goddess of war and death who could take the shape of a crow or raven. Supreme warrior Goddess. She is associated with the sometimes frightening aspects of female energy. Married to the Daghda. She symbolizes the power of fertility, the dark Goddess' prowess, death, war, fate. A shapeshifting war Goddess of sensuality, magic, prophecy, revenge, war. Known as Great Queen, Supreme War Goddess, Queen of Phantoms, and Specter Queen, she kept company with Fea (hateful), Badb (fury), and Macha (battle). Also known as a Triple Goddess form Maiden, Mother and Crone. Variants: Morrigu, Morrighan, Morgan.
3.       Babd Catha-Celtic (Irish) Goddess of war. Mother aspect of the triple Goddess. Symbolizes life, enlightenment, wisdom and inspiration. Sister of Macha, the Morrigan, and Anu, the name of this Goddess means "boiling," "battle raven," and "scald-crow". Known as Cath Bodva in Gaul. A Mother Goddess and Triple Goddess and part of the trio for which Ireland was named including Eriu and Fotia or Fodla, Badb's cauldron boiled with the ever-producing mixture that produced all life. Variants: Badhbh, Badb, Banba
4.     Balor-Celtic. Although he was born with two good eyes, one was ruined in an accident; the eye is so hideous that he only opens it in battle so that its venom will slay whoever is unlucky enough to catch glimpse of it; his daughter marries Cian. Also known as Balor of the Evil Eye.
5.     Bel-Celtic (Irish) Fire and sun God, also God of purification, science, fertility, crops and success. Symbolizes element of fire, health. A sun and fire God closely connected with the Druids and the festival of Beltaine (May 1). Variants: Belenus, Belinos, Beli Mawr (Wales).
6.     Branwen-Celtic (Irish)Goddess of love and beauty. The sister of Bran the Blessed and Manannan mac Lir, daughter of Lir, and wife of the Irish king Matholwch. Died of a broken heart after Bran's death. Known as Venus of the Northern Seas
7.     Cailleach-Celtic (Irish & Scottish) Goddess of disease and plague. A Destroyer, or Crone, Goddess, she was also called "Veiled One". As the Crone, she ruled with the Maiden and the Mother. Monsterous Dogs guarded the gates of her afterworld realm where she received the dead. Celtic myth has her gatekeeper dog named Dormarth "Death's Door". Irish bards who could curse with satire were often called cainte "dog".
8.     Camalus-"Of the Invisible Sword", "Heaven". Celtic God of war and sky. Similar to Mars, only more vicious.
9.     Cernunnos-Celtic God of virility, fertility, life, animals, forests and the underworld. The Horned or Antlered God is born at the winter solstice, marries the Goddess at Beltane, and dies at the summer solstice. He alternates with the Goddess of the moon in ruling over life and death, continuing the cycle of death, rebirth and reincarnation.
Symbolizes element of earth, love, fertility, death the virile male aspect and the dark half of the year. The two fold aspect of the God year with the Greenman or Jack o' the Green being his light aspect. This takes on a similarity to the Oak King and Holly King legend. Leads the wild hunt at Samhain, hence the day best associated with the Dark Lord.
Also A consort to the mother Goddess. Druids knew him as Hu Gadarn, the Honored God. Ancient Celtic images show him seated in a lotus position, naked, with antlers or horns on his head. Christians demonized this benevolent God for easy conversion and is where the image of the Christian devil comes from(Couldn't be further from facts nor truth but alas yet another tragedy of misdeed and "bearing false witness", to quote a commandment).
Animals that were sacred to him: bull, ran, stag, and horned serpents. Variants: Cerowain, Cernenus, Herne the Hunter.
 10. Cyhiraeth -Celtic Goddess of streams, her scream fortells death. Coincides with the Beansidhe or Banshee

A formidable fighter, but a God of simple tastes who dresses in a brown tunic, hooded cape and leather boots. Dagda had a club which could slew nine men with one end, but could bring back life with the other end. He possessed two swine, one of which was perpetually roasting, the other perpetually growing. His other symbols are the bottomless cauldron of plenty and a harp with which he controls the seasons and is the harp that is seen on many Irish flags and symbolizes Ireland to this day(Hehe, Including the signature symbol for Guiness Beer). God of the arts, knowledge, magic, music, prophecy, prosperity, regeneration. Known as the "Good God" and "Lord of the Heavens," he was one of the high kings of the Tuatha De Danaan and had four great palaces under hollow hills.
12. Danu -Celtic (Irish) Goddess, the mother of The Dagda the All father, Creation Goddess, and Mother of the Tuatha de Danaan. Aspect of the Morrigan or Triple Goddess. Considered to have been an early form of Anu, the Universal Mother. Patroness of wizards. Symbolizes rivers, water, wells, prosperity, magick, and wisdom. Tuatha de Danaan literally means Children or Clan of Danu. The Tuatha de Danaan are the Fae folk of Ireland. EXTREMELY potent Goddess form I easily connect with and work very closely with, personally for most of my rituals and castings. Her celebrations were either Beltane and/or Litha (Summer Solstice)
 13. Labraid  Celtic (Irish) God of the underworld. Corresponds with Gwynn Ap Nudd.
Math Mathonwy -Celtic ( Irish & Welsh) God of magick, sorcery, and enchantment. Legend has him as a king who was also a God of enchantment and magick.

Milo, Zack, Melissa, Bradley and Amanda vs. Dark Karlee
For @karlee-the-teenage-witch
Milo, Zack, Melissa, Bradley, Amanda, Queen Star and former Queen Moon had been held captive by Dark Karlee. Possibly the only way out and the only way to potentially get through to the real Karlee is to duel and defeat her.
“Milo, you can’t go through with this alone! Karlee’s far too dangerous now!” Zack freaked, activating his Duel Disk.
“If Zack’s in, I’m in!” Amanda jumped in, her Duel Disk automatically activating.
“That goes double for me! I’m not letting my man stand up to an evil princess without me!” Melissa chimed in, her Duel Disk booting up.
“Karlee’s my fiancée and I think I can get through to her! So count me in!” Bradley beamed, turning on his Duel Disk.
“So...5 against 1, eh? It doesn’t matter what the odds are....you’re all going to lose!” Karlee quipped as her staff turned into a Duel Disk. “Now for the rules - since this is 5 against 1, the 5 of you will all share 8000 Life Points, but will have separate decks and fields. Additionally, I get a free turn after each of you goes!”
“If the legendary duelists could stand up to someone like that, then so can we!” Zack beamed.
“Good. Then let’s begin!”
“DUEL!”
Milo, Zack, Melissa, Bradley and Amanda: 8000
Dark Karlee: 8000
“Since we’re in my castle, I’ll make the first move! I DRAW!” (Hand: 6) “I’ll start by setting the Pendulum Scale with Scale 0 Supreme King Gate Zero and Scale 13 Supreme King Gate Infinity! With these 2 monsters in my Pendulum Zones, I can summon monsters between levels 1 and 12 all at the same time! I’ll summon out 2 Supreme King Dragon Darkwurms!” (1800 Attack Points/1200 Defense Points) “And after laying this face-down in my backrow, it’s Bradley’s turn!” (Hand: 1)
Bradley smiled. “Don’t mind if I do! Here goes!” (Hand: 6) “I play POT OF GREED! This lets me draw twice!” (Hand: 7) “It looks like I’ve drawn Watapon! When it’s drawn outside of my normal draw, it appears on my field automatically!” (200 Attack Points/300 Defense Points) “But I’m not through yet! I play MYSTIC BOX! This will destroy one of your Darkwurms and give you Watapon in its place! And now that you’re one dragon short, the stage is now set for my ace monster! I play ANCIENT RULES! This lets me call my favorite monster....THE DARK MAGICIAN!” (2500 Attack Points/2100 Defense Points) “I’ll then call OBNOXIOUS CELTIC GUARDIAN to the field!” (1400 Attack Points/1200 Defense Points)
“SWEET! Bradley’s got his ace monster out on his first turn!” Milo cheered.
“Here’s where the fun begins! Dark Magician, destroy her Darkwurm! DARK MAGIC ATTACK!”
Dark Magician raised his wand and fired a beam of magic at Darkwurm, destroying it.
“A good move, Bradley...at least it would be if I didn’t have my gates! Gate Zero blocks all the damage your Magician would’ve dealt to me, while Gate Infinity gives me that same amount as Life Points!”
Dark Karlee: 8700
“Unfortunately for you, those only work once a turn, so take this! Celtic Guardian, destroy Watapon with SILVER BLADE SLASH!”
Celtic Guardian charged in, swung his sword and destroyed Watapon.
Dark Karlee: 7500
“I’ll play 2 cards face-down and let you go.” (Hand: 0)
“Prepare to meet your end! I draw!” (Hand: 1) “With my Pendulum Scales up, I can summon monsters from my Extra Deck as well! RETURN, MY DARKWURMS! I’ll also summon the master magician of space....ASTROGRAPH SORCERER!” (2500 ATK/2000 DEF) “Now for Astrograph’s special power! By sacrificing him along with the 4 Dimensional Dragons, I can summon my most powerful beast! Dark Rebellon Xyz Dragon, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, Starving Venom Fusion Dragon and Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, I sacrifice you and my Astrograph Sorcerer to bring forth my ultimate monster!” Karlee rose up into the air as her new monster took shape. It was 20 feet tall, gold, long-winged and menacing. The next time they saw Karlee, she was a part of the monster. “MEET SUPREME DRAGON RULER Z-ARC!” (4000 ATK/4000 DEF) “I AM SYNCHRO! I AM PENDULUM! I AM XYZ! I AM FUSION! I AM THE SUPREME RULER! AND WHEN I COME OUT, ALL YOUR MONSTERS ARE DESTROYED AND YOU TAKE DAMAGE EQUAL TO THEIR ATTACK POINTS!”
Bradley was having none of it.
“On summon of Z-Arc....I PLAY THIS! My VOID TRAP HOLE! When you would summon a monster with 2000 or more points, I can stop the summon of your monster and DESTROY IT!”
“NO!” Karlee screamed as Z-ARC was eliminated.
“But that’s not all! I play the Spell Card TWIN TWISTER! Now all one of my teammates has to do is toss out a card from their hand and both your Pendulum Scales are destroyed! Milo, if you’d be so kind...”
“Be glad to, Bradley! I discard my Healing-Wave Generator to destroy Karlee’s Pendulum Scales!”
“OH NO!”
“I’m afraid so, Karlee! It’s my turn!” Zack said as he drew. (Hand: 6) “I’ll start with the Spell Card TAKE OVER 5! This sends the top 5 cards of my deck to the Graveyard! Next up, I think I’ll play this...ELEMENTAL HERO PRISMA!” (1700 ATK/1100 DEF) “With Prisma’s power, I’ll change him into Clayman! This will set up....MIRACLE FUSION! Heroes of Earth, Water, Fire and Wind - Clayman, Bubbleman, Burstinatrix and Avian - now become one and bring justice to our enemy! I Fusion Summon....ELECTRUM!” (ATK: 2900/DEF: 2900) “When this hero comes out, all banished cards return to the owners’ decks! Now for my assault! Electrum, Attack Karlee Directly with ELEMENTAL RADIANT BURST!”
Electrum let out a bursting aura at Karlee...but instead it was reflected back to Zack!
Milo, Melissa, Zack, Bradley and Amanda: 5100
“Zack, you fool! I played my Trap Card - SUPREME KING’S REBIRTH! When you declare an attack while a Supreme King monster is in my Graveyard, I can negate that attack and send your monster’s Attack Points directly at your Life Points! In exchange....Z-ARC RETURNS!”
“I’ll conclude by playing a face-down, then sacrificing Bradley’s down card with EMERGENCY PROVISIONS! For each card I ditch, we gain 1000 points! I’ll then end with O-Oversoul to bring back my ace! Meet NEOS! (2500 ATK/2000 DEF)”
Milo, Melissa, Zack, Amanda and Bradley: 6100
“That’s it for me.”
Karlee chuckled as she drew her card. (Hand: 1) “I’ll play this face-down, then have Z-ARC attack Celtic Guardian!”
Z-Arc breathed fire, aiming the attack at Bradley’s Guardian...but it was blocked by a devil-like gardna!
“When you attacked, you triggered my Necro Gardna’s special power! By banishing it from the Grave, your attack’s blocked!”
Karlee growled. “My turn’s done!”
“That means it’s my go! I DRAW!” (Hand: 5) “I’ll use the effect of Zack’s Take Over 5! By banishing it, I get an additional card!” (Hand: 6)
“An additional card that’ll be eliminated by Z-Arc’s effect!” (Milo’s hand: 5)
“I can still play Junk Synchron in Attack Mode! When he comes out, I get back a level 2 or lower monster! Return to battle, Speed Warrior! But they won’t be out for long because I’m tuning them together! Just like Zack, Melissa, Bradley, Amanda and I are joining our might, these 2 monsters have now combined theirs! I Synchro Summon....JUNK WARRIOR! (2300 ATK/1300 DEF) Then when a monster is Special Summoned, STEAM SYNCHRON comes out! (600 ATK/800 DEF) I’ll then tune Level 3 Steam Synchron to Level 5 Junk Warrior! From 2 come 1 and from 1 come great cosmic might! SYNCHRO SUMMON! TAKE FLIGHT, STARDUST DRAGON! (2500 ATK/2000 DEF)”
“NO! NOT STARDUST DRAGON!” Karlee feared.
“THAT’S RIGHT! Your most feared monster is out! I’ll then activate CARD OF SANCTITY! This forces us to draw until we all have 6 cards! I’ll end with 4 cards face-down and have Bradley switch Dark Magician to Defense Mode!”
“My move! And thanks to your Card of Sanctity, the pieces are in place for my victory! I’ll reset the Pendulum Scale with Gate Zero and Gate Infinity! RETURN, MY DARKWURMS! NOW ATTACK THE DARK MAGICIAN!”
‘Why would she do that? Dark Magician has 2100 Defense Points and her Darkwurms have only 1800 Attack Points....’ Then it hit Bradley. ‘OF COURSE! Her Gates will just absorb the damage and give her Life Points!’
“You thought right, my prince of darkness....now my Gates will kick in, giving me 600 more Life Points!”
Dark Karlee: 8100
“Z-ARC, DESTROY ELECTRUM!”
The dragon launched a fire blast at Electrum, destroying it.
Milo, Melissa, Zack, Bradley and Amanda: 5000
“I’ll throw 2 cards face-down and activate SUPREME KING DANCE! Since I control a Supreme King monster, I can change the target of your attacks once per turn during your turn and have my Supreme King monsters attack again! That’ll do for now!”
“Then it’s my turn!” Amanda beamed as she drew.
“Hold it right there!” Karlee said, stopping Amanda. “I play the Trap - SUPREME KING BRUTALITY! When this card is active, I can discard cards from your hand equal to the number of Supreme King cards I control and deal you 300 points of damage for each!”
Amanda’s hand was revealed - Gagaga Magician, Tasuke Knight, Bacon Saver, Gogogo Golem, Hyper Quick, Half Unbreak and Half Or Nothing.
“Looks like everything other than Half Or Nothing is now gone! And as a bonus, you get hit for 1800 points of damage!”
Milo, Melissa, Zack, Bradley and Amanda: 3200
Amanda wasn’t fazed.
“Thank you....you’ve sent my HYPER QUICK to the Grave! When that happens, I can flip a card. If it’s a Spell, it’s added to my hand and I get to play it as if it were a Quick-Play Spell! Also, I chain Milo’s set HOPE FOR ESCAPE card! All I have to do is give up 1000 points and I can draw cards for each 1000 points difference in our Life Points!”
Milo, Melissa, Zack, Bradley and Amanda: 2200
“And as of right now, that’s 6! Now, for Hyper Quick’s ability....looks like I’ve flipped RANK-UP MAGIC NUMERON FORCE! Since I did, it’s added straight to my hand!” (Hand: 8) “Now, I summon GAGAGA MANCER! When he comes out, I get back a Gagaga monster from my Graveyard! Return, GAGAGA MAGICIAN! And with these 2 Level 4 monsters, I build the Overlay Network! I Xyz Summon...NUMBER 39: UTOPIA! (2500 ATK/2000 DEF) But that’s not all! I play RANK UP MAGIC NUMERON FORCE! Now until the end of the turn, all your cards are negated and I get to rank-up Utopia! CHAOS XYZ EVOLUTION! I rebuild the Overlay Network with Utopia to summon CHAOS NUMBER 39: UTOPIA RAY VICTORY! (2800 ATK/2500 DEF)”
Karlee wasn’t fazed by this new monster. “Anything you can do, I can do ten times better! I overlay my 2 Darkwurms to Xyz Summon....SUPREME KING DRAGON DARK REBELLION! (2500 ATK/2000 DEF) Now to use his ability! By using an Overlay Unit, I can steal all of Utopia Ray Victory’s Attack Points and add them to Dark Rebellion!”
But nothing happened.
“What part of ‘your monster’s effects are negated’ do you not understand? I, however, can use an Overlay Unit to take your Dragon’s 2500 points and add them to Ray Victory for a grand total of 5300! Next, I flip up Milo’s DOUBLE ATTACK card! With it, Ray Victory can declare a 2nd attack this turn! Ray Victory, TAKE DOWN DARK REBELLION AND Z-ARC NOW WITH TWIN RISING SUN VICTORY SLASH!”
Utopia Ray Victory slashed his swords at the dragons, destroying Dark Rebellion, but not laying a scratch on Z-Arc. It did, however, do significant damage to Karlee’s Life Points. Amanda then played the remainder of her hand face-down.
Dark Karlee: 4000
It was at this point that the real Karlee started to return.
“Guys, what am I doing here? Why am I part of a dragon and what the blank am I wearing?” She asked.
“Karlee? Is that you, my princess?” Bradley asked.
It wasn’t enough as Karlee’s dark side returned. “GET BACK IN THERE! I’M IN CONTROL NOW!”
“No good, guys! We have to win this if we want Karlee back!” Milo told his friends.
“And I’m certain you won’t! I play SUPREME KING’S WRATH! Since I took 2000 points or more of damage this turn, I can bring forth Z-ARC’s faithful servants! Go...SUPREME KING DRAGON DARK REBELLION! SURPREME KING DRAGON ODD-EYES! SUPREME KING DRAGON STARVING VENOM! And SUPREME KING DRAGON CLEAR WING! And need I mention that Supreme King’s Wrath lets me attach my Darkwurms as Overlay Units to Dark Rebellion? My move!” (Hand: 3) “Now...DARK REBELLION, USE YOUR ABILITY TO STEAL RAY VICTORY’S ATTACK POINTS! ATTACK UTOPIA RAY VICTORY AND END THIS DUEL!”
Not so fast, Karlee!
“You’ve triggered my Xyz Revenge Shuffle! By sending Ray Victory back to my Extra Deck, the original Utopia is sent in to take his place in Defense Mode with Revenge Shuffle as an Overlay Unit!”
Karlee grunted. “FINE! STARVING VENOM, ATTACK NEOS!”
I don’t think so!
“I play another Trap! NEGATE ATTACK! Your attack’s canceled and your turn immediately ends!”
“Thank you, Amanda! I’ve let mine and Karlee’s fight go too far...and I’m gonna end it here and now! IT’S MY....TURN!” Melissa beamed, drawing her card. (Hand: 7) “I set my own Pendulum Scale with Scale 1 Stargazer Magician and Scale 8 Timegazer Magician! This lets me summon monsters with levels 2-7! Come on out....ODD-EYES PENDULUM DRAGON! PERFORMAPAL SECONDONKEY! PERFORMAPAL FRIENDONKEY! AND PERFORMAPAL WHIPSNAKE! Now....it’s time for a LINK SUMMON!”
Karlee gasped. “A LINK SUMMON?!”
“That’s right! I link my Friendonkey, my Whip Snake and my Secondonkey in order to summon.....THE FIREWALL DRAGON!” (2500 ATK)
That was Bradley, Zack, Milo and Amanda’s cue.
“GO, DARK SPIRAL FORCE!” Bradley said.
“NEOS SPIRAL FORCE, ACTIVATE!” Zack added
“FROM MY HAND, I PLAY MY STARUDST SPIRAL FORCE!” Milo chimed in.
“AND I REVEAL UTOPIA SPIRAL FORCE!” Amanda shouted.
“Allow me to recap. First, since there’s a Stardust Dragon out, Milo can play Stardust Spiral Force from his hand. This will double the Attack Points of my Firewall Dragon! Next comes Dark Spiral Force, which once again doubles the attack of my Dragon to 10,000! Then, it’s Zack’s Neos Spiral Force. Since Hero Neos is out, Zack can play it from his hand to double Firewall’s Attack Points to 20,000. And finally, Amanda’s Utopia Spiral Force doubles my dragon’s power 1 more time, all the way up....to 40,000!” Melissa explained.
“40,000 ATTACK POINTS?!” Karlee freaked.
“MORE THAN ENOUGH TO WIPE YOU OUT! This is for your own good, Karlee. I’m sorry for letting everything get out of hand. Please....forgive me. FIREWALL DRAGON, ATTACK SUPREME KING Z-ARC AND END THIS DUEL!” Melissa commanded as Firewall Dragon launched a stream of data at Z-Arc, purging Karlee of her dark side and ending the duel.
Karlee: 0
Milo, Melissa, Zack, Bradley and Amanda: WIN!

The Daily Sheeple Dial T for Tyranny: While America Feuds, the Police State Shifts Into High Gear
“Big Brother does not watch us, by his choice. We watch him, by ours. There is no need for wardens or gates or Ministries of Truth. When a population becomes distracted by trivia, when cultural life is redefined as a perpetual round of entertainments, when serious public conversation becomes a form of baby-talk, when, in short, a people become an audience and their public business a vaudeville act, then a nation finds itself at risk; a culture-death is a clear possibility.” — Professor Neil Postman, Amusing Ourselves to Death: Discourse in the Age of Show Business
What characterizes American government today is not so much dysfunctional politics as it is ruthlessly contrived governance carried out behind the entertaining, distracting and disingenuous curtain of political theater. And what political theater it is, diabolically Shakespearean at times, full of sound and fury, yet in the end, signifying nothing.
Played out on the national stage and eagerly broadcast to a captive audience by media sponsors, this farcical exercise in political theater can, at times, seem riveting, life-changing and suspenseful, even for those who know better.
Week after week, the script changes—Donald Trump’s Tweets, Robert Mueller’s Russia probe, Michael Cohen’s legal troubles, porn star Stormy Daniels’ lawsuit over an alleged past affair with Trump, Michelle Wolf’s tasteless stand-up routine at the White House correspondents’ dinner, North and South Korea’s détente, the ongoing staff shakeups within the Trump administration—with each new script following on the heels of the last, never any let-up, never any relief from the constant melodrama.
The players come and go, the protagonists and antagonists trade places, and the audience members are forgiving to a fault, quick to forget past mistakes and move on to the next spectacle.
All the while, a different kind of drama is unfolding in the dark backstage, hidden from view by the heavy curtain, the elaborate stage sets, colored lights and parading actors.
Such that it is, the realm of political theater with all of its drama, vitriol and scripted theatrics is what passes for “transparent” government today, with elected officials, entrusted to act in the best interests of their constituents, routinely performing for their audiences and playing up to the cameras, while doing very little to move the country forward.
Yet behind the footlights, those who really run the show are putting into place policies which erode our freedoms and undermine our attempts at contributing to the workings of our government, leaving us none the wiser and bereft of any opportunity to voice our discontent or engage in any kind of discourse until it’s too late.
It’s the oldest con game in the books, the magician’s sleight of hand that keeps you focused on the shell game in front of you while your wallet is being picked clean by ruffians in your midst.
Indeed, while mainstream America has been fixated on the drama-filled reality show being televised from the White House, the American Police State has moved steadily forward.
Set against a backdrop of government surveillance, militarized police, SWAT team raids, asset forfeiture, eminent domain, overcriminalization, armed surveillance drones, whole body scanners, stop and frisk searches, roving VIPR raids and the like—all of which have been sanctioned by Congress, the White House and the courts—our constitutional freedoms have been steadily chipped away at, undermined, eroded, whittled down, and generally discarded.
Our losses are mounting with every passing day.
Free speech, the right to protest, the right to challenge government wrongdoing, due process, a presumption of innocence, the right to self-defense, accountability and transparency in government, privacy, press, sovereignty, assembly, bodily integrity, representative government: all of these and more have become casualties in the government’s war on the American people.
All the while, the American people have been treated like enemy combatants, to be spied on, tracked, scanned, frisked, searched, subjected to all manner of intrusions, intimidated, invaded, raided, manhandled, censored, silenced, shot at, locked up, and denied due process.
None of these dangers have dissipated.
They have merely disappeared from our televised news streams.
The new boss has proven to be the same as the old boss, and the American people, the permanent underclass in America, has allowed itself to be so distracted and divided that they have failed to notice the building blocks of tyranny being laid down right under their noses by the architects of the Deep State.
Frankly, it really doesn’t matter what you call the old/new boss—the Deep State, the Controllers, the masterminds, the shadow government, the police state, the surveillance state, the military industrial complex—so long as you understand that no matter who occupies the White House, it is a profit-driven, an unelected bureaucracy that is actually calling the shots.
In the interest of liberty and truth, here’s an A-to-Z primer to spell out the grim realities of life in the American Police State that no one is talking about anymore.
A is for the AMERICAN POLICE STATE. A police state “is characterized by bureaucracy, secrecy, perpetual wars, a nation of suspects, militarization, surveillance, widespread police presence, and a citizenry with little recourse against police actions.”
B is for our battered BILL OF RIGHTS. In the cop culture that is America today, where you can be kicked, punched, tasered, shot, intimidated, harassed, stripped, searched, brutalized, terrorized, wrongfully arrested, and even killed by a police officer, and that officer is rarely held accountable for violating your rights, the Bill of Rights doesn’t amount to much.
C is for CIVIL ASSET FORFEITURE. This governmental scheme to deprive Americans of their liberties—namely, the right to property—is being carried out under the guise of civil asset forfeiture, a government practice wherein government agents (usually the police) seize private property they “suspect” may be connected to criminal activity. Then, whether or not any crime is actually proven to have taken place, the government keeps the citizen’s property.
D is for DRONES. It is estimated that at least 30,000 drones will be airborne in American airspace by 2020, part of an $80 billion industry. Although some drones will be used for benevolent purposes, many will also be equipped with lasers, tasers and scanning devices, among other weapons—all aimed at “we the people.”
E is for ELECTRONIC CONCENTRATION CAMP. In the electronic concentration camp, as I have dubbed the surveillance state, all aspects of a person’s life are policed by government agents and all citizens are suspects, their activities monitored and regulated, their movements tracked, their communications spied upon, and their lives, liberties and pursuit of happiness dependent on the government’s say-so.
F is for FUSION CENTERS. Fusion centers, data collecting agencies spread throughout the country and aided by the National Security Agency, serve as a clearinghouse for information shared between state, local and federal agencies. These fusion centers constantly monitor our communications, everything from our internet activity and web searches to text messages, phone calls and emails. This data is then fed to government agencies, which are now interconnected: the CIA to the FBI, the FBI to local police.
G is for GRENADE LAUNCHERS and GLOBAL POLICE. The federal government has distributed more than $18 billion worth of battlefield-appropriate military weapons, vehicles and equipment such as drones, tanks, and grenade launchers to domestic police departments across the country. As a result, most small-town police forces now have enough firepower to render any citizen resistance futile. Now take those small-town police forces, train them to look and act like the military, and then enlist them to be part of the United Nations’ Strong Cities Network program, and you not only have a standing army that operates beyond the reach of the Constitution but one that is part of a global police force.
H is for HOLLOW-POINT BULLETS. The government’s efforts to militarize and weaponize its agencies and employees is reaching epic proportions, with federal agencies as varied as the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration stockpiling millions of lethal hollow-point bullets, which violate international law. Ironically, while the government continues to push for stricter gun laws for the general populace, the U.S. military’s arsenal of weapons makes the average American’s handgun look like a Tinker Toy.
I is for the INTERNET OF THINGS, in which internet-connected “things” will monitor your home, your health and your habits in order to keep your pantry stocked, your utilities regulated and your life under control and relatively worry-free. The key word here, however, is control. This “connected” industry propels us closer to a future where police agencies apprehend virtually anyone if the government “thinks” they may commit a crime, driverless cars populate the highways, and a person’s biometrics are constantly scanned and used to track their movements, target them for advertising, and keep them under perpetual surveillance.
J is for JAILING FOR PROFIT. Having outsourced their inmate population to private prisons run by private corporations, this profit-driven form of mass punishment has given rise to a $70 billion private prison industry that relies on the complicity of state governments to keep their privately run prisons full by jailing large numbers of Americans for inane crimes.
K is for KENTUCKY V. KING. In an 8-1 ruling, the Supreme Court ruled that police officers can break into homes, without a warrant, even if it’s the wrong home as long as they think they have a reason to do so. Despite the fact that the police in question ended up pursuing the wrong suspect, invaded the wrong apartment and violated just about every tenet that stands between us and a police state, the Court sanctioned the warrantless raid, leaving Americans with little real protection in the face of all manner of abuses by law enforcement officials.
L is for LICENSE PLATE READERS, which enable law enforcement and private agencies to track the whereabouts of vehicles, and their occupants, all across the country. This data collected on tens of thousands of innocent people is also being shared between police agencies, as well as with fusion centers and private companies. This puts Big Brother in the driver’s seat.
M is for MAIN CORE. Since the 1980s, the U.S. government has acquired and maintained, without warrant or court order, a database of names and information on Americans considered to be threats to the nation. As Salon reports, this database, reportedly dubbed “Main Core,” is to be used by the Army and FEMA in times of national emergency or under martial law to locate and round up Americans seen as threats to national security. As of 2008, there were some 8 million Americans in the Main Core database.
N is for NO-KNOCK RAIDS. Owing to the militarization of the nation’s police forces, SWAT teams are now increasingly being deployed for routine police matters. In fact, more than 80,000 of these paramilitary raids are carried out every year. That translates to more than 200 SWAT team raids every day in which police crash through doors, damage private property, terrorize adults and children alike, kill family pets, assault or shoot anyone that is perceived as threatening—and all in the pursuit of someone merely suspected of a crime, usually possession of some small amount of drugs.
O is for OVERCRIMINALIZATION and OVERREGULATION. Thanks to an overabundance of 4500-plus federal crimes and 400,000 plus rules and regulations, it’s estimated that the average American actually commits three felonies a day without knowing it. As a result of this overcriminalization, we’re seeing an uptick in Americans being arrested and jailed for such absurd “violations” as letting their kids play at a park unsupervised, collecting rainwater and snow runoff on their own property, growing vegetables in their yard, and holding Bible studies in their living room.
P is for PATHOCRACY and PRECRIME. When our own government treats us as things to be manipulated, maneuvered, mined for data, manhandled by police, mistreated, and then jailed in profit-driven private prisons if we dare step out of line, we are no longer operating under a constitutional republic. Instead, what we are experiencing is a pathocracy: tyranny at the hands of a psychopathic government, which “operates against the interests of its own people except for favoring certain groups.” Couple that with the government’s burgeoning precrime programs, which will use fusion centers, data collection agencies, behavioral scientists, corporations, social media, and community organizers and by relying on cutting-edge technology for surveillance, facial recognition, predictive policing, biometrics, and behavioral epigenetics in order to identify and deter so-called potential “extremists,” dissidents or rabble-rousers. Bear in mind that anyone seen as opposing the government—whether they’re Left, Right or somewhere in between—is now viewed as an extremist.
Q is for QUALIFIED IMMUNITY. Qualified immunity allows officers to walk away without paying a dime for their wrongdoing. Conveniently, those deciding whether a police officer should be immune from having to personally pay for misbehavior on the job all belong to the same system, all cronies with a vested interest in protecting the police and their infamous code of silence: city and county attorneys, police commissioners, city councils and judges.
R is for ROADSIDE STRIP SEARCHES and BLOOD DRAWS. The courts have increasingly erred on the side of giving government officials—especially the police—vast discretion in carrying out strip searches, blood draws and even anal probes for a broad range of violations, no matter how minor the offense. In the past, strip searches were resorted to only in exceptional circumstances where police were confident that a serious crime was in progress. In recent years, however, strip searches have become routine operating procedures in which everyone is rendered a suspect and, as such, is subjected to treatment once reserved for only the most serious of criminals.
S is for the SURVEILLANCE STATE. On any given day, the average American going about his daily business will be monitored, surveilled, spied on and tracked in more than 20 different ways, by both government and corporate eyes and ears. A byproduct of this new age in which we live, whether you’re walking through a store, driving your car, checking email, or talking to friends and family on the phone, you can be sure that some government agency, whether the NSA or some other entity, is listening in and tracking your behavior. This doesn’t even begin to touch on the corporate trackers that monitor your purchases, web browsing, Facebook posts and other activities taking place in the cyber sphere.
T is for TASERS. Nonlethal weapons such as tasers, stun guns, rubber pellets and the like have been used by police as weapons of compliance more often and with less restraint—even against women and children—and in some instances, even causing death. These “nonlethal” weapons also enable police to aggress with the push of a button, making the potential for overblown confrontations over minor incidents that much more likely. A Taser Shockwave, for instance, can electrocute a crowd of people at the touch of a button.
U is for UNARMED CITIZENS SHOT BY POLICE. No longer is it unusual to hear about incidents in which police shoot unarmed individuals first and ask questions later, often attributed to a fear for their safety. Yet the fatality rate of on-duty patrol officers is reportedly far lower than many other professions, including construction, logging, fishing, truck driving, and even trash collection.
V is for VIPR SQUADS. So-called “soft target” security inspections, carried out by roving VIPR task forces, comprised of federal air marshals, surface transportation security inspectors, transportation security officers, behavior detection officers and explosive detection canine teams, are taking place whenever and wherever the government deems appropriate, at random times and places, and without needing the justification of a particular threat.
W is for WHOLE-BODY SCANNERS. Using either x-ray radiation or radio waves, scanning devices and government mobile units are being used not only to “see” through your clothes but to spy on you within the privacy of your home. While these mobile scanners are being sold to the American public as necessary security and safety measures, we can ill afford to forget that such systems are rife with the potential for abuse, not only by government bureaucrats but by the technicians employed to operate them.
X is for X-KEYSCORE, one of the many spying programs carried out by the National Security Agency that targets every person in the United States who uses a computer or phone. This top-secret program “allows analysts to search with no prior authorization through vast databases containing emails, online chats and the browsing histories of millions of individuals.”
Y is for YOU-NESS. Using your face, mannerisms, social media and “you-ness” against you, you can now be tracked based on what you buy, where you go, what you do in public, and how you do what you do. Facial recognition software promises to create a society in which every individual who steps out into public is tracked and recorded as they go about their daily business. The goal is for government agents to be able to scan a crowd of people and instantaneously identify all of the individuals present. Facial recognition programs are being rolled out in states all across the country.
Z is for ZERO TOLERANCE. We have moved into a new paradigm in which young people are increasingly viewed as suspects and treated as criminals by school officials and law enforcement alike, often for engaging in little more than childish behavior. In some jurisdictions, students have also been penalized under school zero tolerance policies for such inane “crimes” as carrying cough drops, wearing black lipstick, bringing nail clippers to school, using Listerine or Scope, and carrying fold-out combs that resemble switchblades. The lesson being taught to our youngest—and most impressionable—citizens is this: in the American police state, you’re either a prisoner (shackled, controlled, monitored, ordered about, limited in what you can do and say, your life not your own) or a prison bureaucrat (politician, police officer, judge, jailer, spy, profiteer, etc.).
As I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People, the reality we must come to terms with is that in the post-9/11 America we live in today, the government does whatever it wants, freedom be damned.
We have moved beyond the era of representative government and entered a new age.
You can call it the age of authoritarianism. Or fascism. Or oligarchy. Or the American police state.
Whatever label you want to put on it, the end result is the same: tyranny.

Whitehead has taken on everything from human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia, protection of religious freedom, and child pornography, to family autonomy issues, cross burning, the sanctity of human life, and the war on terrorism in his weekly opinion column. A self-proclaimed civil libertarian, Whitehead is considered by many to be a legal, political and cultural watchdog—sounding the call for integrity, accountability and an adherence to the democratic principles on which this country was founded.
Time and again, Whitehead hits the bull’s eye with commentaries that are insightful, relevant and provocative. And all too often, he finds himself under fire for his frank and unadulterated viewpoint. But as he frequently remarks, “Anytime people find themselves under fire from both the liberal left and the conservative right, it means that that person is probably right on target.”
Mr. Whitehead’s commentaries have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Washington Post, Washington Times and USA Today.
