I was planning on doing the cybertronians body language or anatomy post first but decided to go with this because the info it provides helps with the other two. its also a lot shorter than the other two so I knew I could get it done a lil faster.

fun facts about ukrainian vampires (opyr)

• opyri can be of two origins: born and made. made opyri are made by witches, who can smear a baby with blood of a man who went to sleep without praying, thus making the child an opyr.

• opyri have two souls. when opyr dies, only one soul goes to the otherworld. this is why they continue living after death. they aren't immortal though, and only live post-death for seven years. you can presume the person who died was an opyr and will return later if right after their death was a great storm.

• they are very merry fellas and are known to sing, dance and play musical instruments. you can see them partying if you go to the village border at midnight. they also can be spotted smoking a pipe while laying in their coffin.

• opyr can turn into variety of different things: a child, a white or a black dog, a cat, a wolf, a horseman.

• if someone sneezes and you don't respond with "bless you" such person can become an easy target for opyr.

• to get rid of the opyr, you must take them into your arms and carry them across the town or village three times. classical stake to the heart works too.

THE CHANGELING BROTHERS 🗣🗣🗣

Some design notes under cut:

In mythology, changelings are humanoid creatures that have been placed by fae (broad generalized term) in place of a human child, though there are also some stories here and there of adults being taken and replaced by changelings.

Changelings, based on my limited research, only really refer to the creature left behind during some good ol cradle robbing. They are related to the fae, though. Fae, or faeries, cover a broad range of different creatures in all sorts of European mythos, however, from elves to trolls to imps. In more modern art and stories, fae are drawn as tiny little humans with bug-like wings and long, flowing hair. But there have been less flattering depictions throughout history.

Taking the origin of the mythos, and the obvious bug inspiration in the show, I've decided to redesign these two to look like impish little sprites! Changelings in my AU are smaller than the average pony, usually reaching their chin or shoulders. They have thin, flexible bodies that are protected by an exoskeleton! Their jaws are an odd mix of mammalian and insect, so they can expand and protrude their lower jaws while their upper jaw stays fixed to their skull. Their tongues are thin, based on nectar-drinking bugs and animals like butterflies and hummingbirds.

Most changelings have two wings, only Pharynx and Thorax have four wings (reformed form only.)

Pharynx is also a bit taller than the average changeling drone... Have fun imagining how tall Thorax is. Height chart coming eventually.

Their tails are loosely based on a scorpion's stinger, but I took more inspiration from cartoony imp/devil tails in art and cartoons! 😇

I’m gonna be real. that was the best event so far of qsmp. I enjoyed it so much and have collected my thoughts so here’s an appreciation post! :D

Now I understand why it took the team over a month to work on this. The lead-up preparations with Cucurucho giving Jaiden’s tasks all culminating into today, the teaser images, update account tweets. The giant, amazingly designed custom dungeon with tons of hidden lore, and new developed mod additions like the live countdown timer??? I can’t imagine how much effort and time that took. They seriously outdid themselves.

And the creators all brought their A-game to this despite not knowing anything about what was happening. They all played it super well and roleplayed their characters perfectly:

Jaiden carried the whole mission. I was so impressed at how she solo monologued the entire two hour long journey and never stopped being entertaining. Foolish embraced the role of comic relief and relieved the stress. Cellbit, back to the grind, went crazy with his hardcore investigative work. Bad was the reason they all didn’t perish instantly, and kept the team alive to see the end. Richarlyson was an amazing support that brought everything together.

Like today had it all!!! the qsmp’s iconic qommunication “we won’t let you be alone,” and the comedy, scooby doo shenanigans, mortal peril, horrors, care and love, trauma bonding, family moments, theorycrafting. I loved it soooo much <3

Could you talk a little about your MCI from your Fnaf au?

This isn’t exactly what you asked, but here’s my timeline! It’s altered a bit over the years and characters have changed roles, but this is my little AU:

1983: Evan “Jack” Afton is bitten while Henry murders Charlie behind the pizzeria. Charlie mistakes her killer for William. Fredbear’s Family Diner closes and the springlock suits are moved to Freddy’s. Jack continues to haunt Michael and creates night terrors for him.

1984: Circus Baby’s Rental opens and Elizabeth “goes missing.” William, after losing his second kid, becomes consumed with finding Elizabeth and fails to notice Henry reprogramming the animatronics. Funtime animatronics steadily kidnap/kill kids from 1984~86.

1985: Official first Missing Children’s Incident™. Henry lures five kids (Gabriel, Jeremy, Susie, Fritz, and Cass) and stuffs their bodies in the suits. William is suspected but never convicted, Freddy’s is shut down.

Early 1986: William, suspecting foul play and feeling guilty, goes to the now closed Freddy’s location to search for clues. Charlie and Co, believing their killer to be William, scare him into the suit and he is springlocked. Using William as a scapegoat, Henry has the walls sealed up so that William can “remain at large” should the case be reopened. Becoming more paranoid that he will be found out, he hunts down Michael’s friends from the bite of ‘83 and hides their bodies in the not-yet-released toy animatronics.

1987: After the disappearance of his father, Michael finds William’s frantic theories over Elizabeth’s whereabouts and decides to go look for her. Scoopage occurs.

After discovering the truth of the incidents, the not-yet-rotting Michael takes a job at the new Freddy Fazbear’s under the guise of Jeremy Fitzgerald. (The dayshift guard, also named Jeremy, gets bit by Mangle) Michael comes back later as “Fritz Smith” and sneaks Charlie out with him.

~1988: Ennard (without Baby) sneaks into Michael’s apartment and asks to stay. Michael begrudgingly lets Ennard live in his closet.

~1991: Circus Baby finds Michael’s apartment and demands to stay. Michael and Ennard begrudgingly let her.

1993: Mike takes a job at the reopened Freddy’s. Finds out that his uncle (Phone Guy) died there not too long before him. Mike continues working there for a while until he gets fired for “tampering with the animatronics” and the place gets shut down. He sneaks Phone Guy’s ghost out with him and hides him in his apartment.

2017: Michael takes a job at Fazbear Fright under the name Eggs and “meets” Springtrap. Neither recognize each other and form a friendship. This culminates in the two of them burning the place down and Michael sneaking William back to his apartment, where Phone Guy reveals both of their identities to each other.

2019: Michael, in an attempt to lure Henry and kill him, franchises a Freddy’s location and steadily sneaks his animatronic family members in. It’s the most successful Freddy establishment and becomes incredibly popular. When Henry tries to burn the place down, the Afton family captures him and forces him to burn in the restaurant with them. Despite everything, everyone but Henry survives. Henry’s soul escapes into the computer.

2020: Realizing they now have to live “normal lives” in the aftermath of the fire, Michael and William retrofit illusion discs so the whole family can pose as living people.

2023: After developing into a malicious computer virus, Henry/Glitchtrap poses as a Fazbear Entertainment email address and commissions a VR studio to make the FNAF series. On top of using this to possess the beta testers, he uses this to spin the narrative that William was the murderer and that he was the hero that stopped him. Michael joins the VR team as “Iggy Wilson” in order to stop Henry.

A fishwif, also called a fishmaiden, seamaiden or seawif, is a mythical creature known to people of Nebokraj and Soncejav. They are depicted as monstrous giantesses with fish-like or serpent-like features.

In yavitan tradition, fishwifs are believed to be the first people made by God, when the creation was new and the world was a never-ending ocean. He later abandoned them, for fishwifs didn't have a soul and were unable to create. It is said that when sailors pass them by, seamaidens ask them, weeping: "when shall Lord our God return to us?"

Seamaidens are a popular motif in yavitan art. Their depictions are used as apotropaic symbols, and fishwifs are frequently painted on doorways, baby cribs, dinner tables and temple walls. An aspect of yavitan God known as Lady of the Bones is strongly associated with sea and fish, and is sometimes imagined as having fish legs or emerging from a fish.

In krajan tradition seawifs are believed to be one of thirty three monsters born by the goddess Njarlanaj. Like most of the giants in krajan folklore, they are depicted as having golden skin — a color which is strongly associated with the otherworld.

Krajan goddesses associated with the sea, such as Maranval, Njarlanaj and Valkarna are often portrayed as seawifs.

A unique motif of a fishwif, known only to northern krajans is a "mournmaid" or "arysen" (from krajan "arys" — "grief, sorrow" and feminine suffix "-sen"). They are believed to inhabit lakes, ponds, springs and rivers, and their name comes from the calendar myth that every winter when the Sun dies and is later reborn, they mourn his death with loud weeping.

Town of Puddle: Vampires

In the world of Puddle, vampire is a catch-all term for any humanoid creature that needs to consume something from a human to survive - usually human flesh or blood, but some subsist on other things such as emotions, dreams, etc. The most common vampire is the classic undead vampire. Vampires are usually immortal or very long-lived. 

While vampires are thought to have any number of origins, there is in fact one singular origin from which they descend. The first vampires were nephilim, the children of the demon Asherah and the angel Rapha. Asherah was the queen of a kingdom named Hell. Tales of this kingdom and her rule would pass through the ages and become distorted into mythology. Rapha was an angel of blood with a terrible hunger his children would inherit. Both are long dead and gone, but their influence on their descendants lingers. Common vampiric powers, such as glamours and shapeshifting, come from these ancient ancestors.

Asherah and Rapha’s children were destined to rule, for a time anyway, over all corners of the earth. Some were more suited to the forests or mountains or cities, others to the sea or even the skies. These first vampires would eventually give rise to all the different types of vampires we see today.

The kingdoms of vampires were matriarchal, modeled after Asherah’s own kingdom. Matriarchs are a special type of vampire suited to rule, and childbirth. Mundane vampires have difficulty bearing children, most being completely infertile. Natural-born vampires are thus rare but not unheard of. Most vampires nowadays are turned, from human to vampire as other creatures are immune or will simply die to vampirism.

A childe (plural, childer) is a vampire that has been turned by another, who is their sire. One of the few remaining widespread cultural norms for vampires, is that a sire has some degree of responsibility for their childer shortly after they are turned, and it is good practice to teach them local vampire rules, history, and etiquette.

While most vampires prefer solitary existences, many vampires form groups for mutual support. These groups often vie for power in shadowy undergrounds that exist away from human eyes. A vampire group might be called a gang, a pack, or a coven.

Below are my named vampires so far. If you’re curious about even more, @wyrmzier also has their own Puddle vampire characters you can ask about.

Vivian Moon used to be human, but she was turned into a vampire. She is like a siphonophore, a colony inhabiting a human form. Because she is a colony of organisms she can survive grave injuries or even dismemberment, for short periods of time. When her limbs are separated from her body they have their own intelligence, like an octopus’s. Vivian works as a forensic consultant for a special precinct dedicated to investigating monster-related crimes. 

Ethel Stone is Vivian’s friend in City Hall, who keeps her informed of political goings-on and secretly helps out her fellow vampires. Ethel is a lamprey vampire.

Teutho Melua is a vampiric pirate captain with a love of theatrics and parties. He is Vivian and Mordecai’s sire. Teutho is initially very narcissistic and bloodthirsty, but after some character development he becomes slightly less narcissistic. He is still bloodthirsty.

Mordecai Esadze is Teutho’s first mate. He is dark, serious, and grumpy, to balance Teutho’s more flashy personality. Mordecai is responsible and secretly more of a softie than he lets on.

Adelaide is Mordecai’s childe, his only one. As a human she sought the change, vampires call these sorts of humans “bite-chasers.” Now she manages a modest network of underground clubs and casinos, and in her spare time enjoys breeding snakes.

Lilian Heather is the adopted daughter of Samuel, and an up-and-coming actress.

Melanthios is an ancient vampire, thousands of years old and now more monstrous than humanoid. He is Menodora’s mate.

Malakos was the youngest of Menodora’s children, a cruel and egotistical vampire who controlled a small criminal empire on the Black Sea. He was Teutho’s sire, and was killed by Teutho and Mordecai.

Hyacinth is another of Malakos's childer, who pursues Teutho for a time.

Chise is Vivian’s mother, a bakeneko vampire. She abandoned Vivian at a young age, leaving her with no knowledge of her heritage.

Lycan was an ancient vampire, a child of Rapha and Asherah. His pursuit of a cure for vampirism led to the creation of werewolves.

Felisity is an ancient cat vampire, and a Matriarch. She was a queen of a small kingdom and was worshipped as an aspect of the goddess Bastet for many years, but eventually was dethroned and went into hiding.

Notable classes of beings of the nameless world home to Tetra, in order of their appearance.

I. FREE GODS

Characterized by stereotypical dragon behaviors, the free gods are boundlessly aggressive, lazy, and greedy titans. They've never created anything, own nothing, and typically they are senselessly hostile and don't negotiate. They have no need for food, but the stronger god devours the weaker one anyway. They usually tear into and start eating each other the moment they get close enough.

II. GODS

Tetra got its name from the fact that everything on it is owned by and was made of its four gods: ELI the dreamer, SOL the judge, ORM the sculptor, and ARK the warden. These are not names but three-letter codes assigned to them. They are referred to as "the gods", or as Tetran gods.

III. SPIRITS

Spirits were created by the gods as blueprints for species - flora and fauna both. Their primary objective as such was to preserve themselves. They were given a high level of sentience and godlike control over their own selves to this end, although that initial objective has been obsolete for a while.

They are incorporeal beings who can temporarily create themselves in corporeal space. They have no lifespan, no single default form, no sex, no orientation, no physical needs. By default, they communicate via telepathy, although they don't typically communicate at all.

IV. MORTALS

All mortal species have been created out of chosen spirits by the gods. Not really a "class of being", a companion - often called spirit-master - is a mortal with whom a spirit has some kind of bond and/or frequent, willing interactions.

The nature of these relationships varies wildly, but every spirit has the same ulterior motive, as all of them are in the same boat. As of now, spirits are perplexed and unsettled by the sudden and unprecedented silence of the gods, and the simultaneous appearance of people.

The most involved companions are Pegasus's master Holly, and Phoenix's son Ryan; whereas the three highest-profile, busiest spirits are Phoenix, Griffin, and Pegasus.

I like to focus on the little stories of spirit-human relationships, instead of the big questions. I'm mainly working on a comic about how Holly got Pegasus to be her spirit. In the meantime, there will be the usual disjointed sketches and illustrations.

Cybertronians are masters of disguise, easily able to integrate themselves into most alien societies. Especially ones that consist of other cyber life or heavly plated alien, things cybertronians can easily mimic. When unable to mimic the native life, bots will often take advantage of halo Forms technology, creating a near-perfect solid light replica of the native life. Cybertronians also have the built-in ability to pick up and decode languages just from hearing them. with Their vocalizer being extremely flexible and able to mimic the sound of other species, and if they desire, some can mimic the voices of specific individuals.

Scouts and infiltrators are usually able to figure out how to mimic the native life's behavior and better integrate themselves. Their disguises are often imperfect, but they're usually good enough not to cause any alarm, allowing these cybertronians to integrate themselves into alien societies undetected so they can insert themselves into roles that would give them the most power and influence. This allows Cybertronians to easily take other alien planets/societies out from the inside either to destabilize them so they become non-threat or to convert Their planet into a cybertronian colonies. But if an infiltration is unsuccessful, Cybertron has enough military might they can usually enforce their will on a planet by force, if need be.

During the war, due to Cybertron's unstable state, many Cybertronian colonies were able to break free from Cybertron's control, and many civilizations whose development was purposefully stifled were able to finally Advance without Cybertrons Influence.

Course, an infiltration campaign is not the reason why our little groups of stranded Autobots and Decepticons are stuck on Earth. So, the stranded bots don't have the same tools that an infiltrators might have. On earth, they can not mimic the native life very well, They are too small and often lack any plating, but they can mimic their vehicles and other mechanical devices, but that can only help so much. Neither side Possesses a haloform generator, leaving them reliant on native beings to perform certain tasks for them and help keep their existence hidden. Barely any Bots on either side had been on an alien planet before, and the ones that have only ever really been on Cybertronian colony worlds. But, one of the stranded Autobots is an ex-infiltrator and is more than familiar with dealing with unkown alien worlds. :)

hello friend. a mavka, navka or nyavka is an undead forest spirit, one of type which ukrainians call the covered dead (заложні мерці) — spirits of people that died of unclean, improper death, and therefore couldn't finish the transition and weren't allowed to the orherworld. the name covered undead comes from the fact that in old times they weren't properly buried, and were left in forests covered by leaves and twigs.

generally mavky are envisioned as beautiful girls, although in some regions there are beliefs about male mavky (sometimes called didky). mavka looks perfectly human except for the fact that their backs lack skin and muscle, exposing their innards and spine. they aren't malicious, but are obliviously playful and can hurt people during their plays — tickle or dance you to death, drown, ward you off your tray. in some western regions it's also believed that time goes faster when encountering them — what is felt like several hours could actually be several hundred years.

navky live in forests and mountain caves, and they like to dance, weave, play and prank wanderers, especially young men. to ward off mavky valeriana, garlic and wormwood are used, as well as wearing your shirt inside out. like most undead spirits in ukrainian mythology, navky are most active during the green festival/rusalka week.

there is a ukrainian holiday called navsky velykden, or undead easter, celebrated at the first thursday after easter. in this day all mavky, rusalky, upyri and all the other unclean forces celebrate easter. at night during the holiday it was prohibited to visit churches, since celebrating undead could dismember you if spotted.

Found this old photo album. I remember my parents telling me how small I was compared to the other dragon eggs. They had no clue how I was going to turn out, and because of this I was hatched in a cave instead of the nesting grounds. For the first 4 years of my life I grew up there. These two have taught me everything I know, thanks guys.

How is Branch's relationship with the other bounty hunters? I can see him hating all of them at first but I really do love that scene with Branch and the k-pop and regaton trolls :)

He'd probably hate Chaz forever but who can blame him lol

Heeloooo! Tysm for the question (a very good one, I hadn’t really thought of this before) and ty, I’m very bad at naming things but it was silly so I liked it :)

I think overall branch would try to keep his relationships with all the bounty hunters non-existent / minimal (he is failing) because yknow branch and his abondonement / trust issues can’t be getting too attached to ppl when you know they could leave at any moment!

Branch is not immune to the reggaeton trolls attempt to bond with him, he is not immune to the baby-brotherification that tresillo subjects him to

Hashtag it’s complicated, he’s very bad at identifying his feelings, especially when they’re more complicated than happy/sad/angry

And there we go! This is just my initial thoughts but they could change if I decide to develop the story more but these questions are super helpful for figuring things out
