Kitty (part 8)
Parts 1-7 here:
Pairings: Rei x (afab) reader Fluffity fluff as per -
After a relatively quiet evening, Miri demands a bedtime story from you. You’re not sure what you’ve done to win the title of chief bedtime story-teller this evening, and Kazuki’s not going to tell you he gave Miri an extra pudding cup as an incentive to choose you, but his parenting boards suggested that reading aloud to pets or children could improve one’s confidence. Once Miri’s in her pyjamas, teeth brushed, goodnights wished to her papas, she drags you up the stairs, already talking about what book you’re going to read her.
Kazuki waits until he hears the firm click of Miri’s bedroom door being closed, then he walks round to the back of the sofa besides Rei, and leans down.
“So,” there’s a sly grin on his face, “how’d it go?”
“How’d what go?” Rei mumbles, switching games from the online library. He promised Kazuki he wouldn’t play any of the more violent ones until Miri was in bed.
Kazuki sighs, walking round to the armchair and sitting down heavily. “You did ask Kitty about the zoo, right?”
“Oh. Yeah.” He nods.
“And…?”
“And what?”
“What did she say?!”
“She said she’d like to go.”
Kazuki squeals and Rei winces – it was a near spot-on impression of Miri. “Knew it! When are you going?”
“I don’t know.”
“Wait, you didn’t agree on a day?”
“No.” Rei pauses. “Should I have?”
“Oh, jeez. Okay, well, you need to do it on a weekday – there’s no way you and Kitty can sneak off on a weekend without Miri demanding to join and though our Miri is a sweet angel child, that’s gonna eliminate any possibility of romance. I wonder if the weather’s good tomorrow…” Kazuki pulls his phone out his pocket.
“Tomorrow?” He raises an eyebrow.
“Gotta strike while the iron’s hot, Rei. Plus, if you leave it, who knows when our next mission will come in?” He answers as he scrolls. “Ah, perfect. Dry, even a little sunny. Trust me, you think it’d be romantic sharing an umbrella but it’s not - it’s awkward.” He’s up from the armchair now. “I still have time to run to the store…” He heads to the kitchen, mumbling a list of what Rei thinks might be ingredients.
“The store?”
“Uh-huh. I’m going to make the two of you the most perfect lunch. Remember the one I made for Miri for the zoo?” He’s opening cupboards now, taking a mental inventory.
“Kazuki, wait…” Rei hasn’t even made it to the load menu when he drops the controller on the couch, stumbles up to his feet from his previously slouched position on the couch and stands the other side of the counter. “Tomorrow? That’s so… soon.”
“Aw, you nervous?” Kazuki teases over his shoulder.
“Yes.”
“Oh!” Kazuki’s surprised at his honesty, and turns to face him with a reassuring smile. “Well, don’t be. You’ll be fine – it’s just the two of you hanging out, like you do here, right? You’re just gonna walk around, talk, look at the animals… She already likes you, Rei. You’re going to have a nice time. Trust me, okay?”
“Okay.”
You exit Miri’s bedroom 20 minutes later, expecting to see both men on the couch but it’s only Rei. From the low sound coming out the TV, you recognize it as some sort of survival horror game. He looks up and smiles, nodding to his side in a suggestion. You walk down the stairs and sit besides him, tucking your legs up under you as he shoots some odd-looking beast in the head, his accuracy spot-on.
“Did Miri settle down okay?”
“Y-yeah. She w-was more tired t-than she was l-letting on, I think. D-did I hear Z-Zuki go out?”
“Gone to the store. I told him about us, and the zoo. He thinks we should go tomorrow when the weather’s nice. And he wanted to make us lunch.” His eyes move from the screen to you, wanting to gauge your reaction.
Your heart skips a beat. “Tomorrow?” You can’t hide the excitement in your voice and Rei is momentarily taken back with how confident and genuine you sound in your question. It had been on your mind all evening, you had meant to ask when he was thinking of going but it had been busy with the normal routine…
There’s a guttural groan from the television followed by a horrible squish as Rei’s character gets mauled by the beast. “S-sorry! I’m dis-distracting you. I c-can go to b-bed if you n-need to co-concentrate.”
“Not at all,” he fibs, adjusting his position ever so slightly on the sofa, “this bit is just a little tough.”
--
Kazuki insisted on givng the two of you a lift in the car, dropping you right at the gates of the zoo that morning after he’d done the daycare drop-off. He seemed more excited than the both of you combined, so much so you wondered if you should’ve invited him along to be polite.
“Take your time, okay?” Kazuki winks, waving his arm through the window as he drives off. Rei’s laden with a backpack that looks a little overstuffed for two people – Kazuki had come back with two paper bags of food last night. He shooed you away when you offered to help and was still at it when you’d headed up to bed. If the weight of the bag is bothering Rei, he doesn’t let it show.
“Have y-you b-been be-before?” You ask as you begin the walk up the stairs, past a cute giraffe-themed arch.
“Once, but I didn’t get much chance to look around.” At your quizzical look he pressed on, “Work got in the way a little.” He didn’t want to regale the tale of how Kazuki basically made them stalk Miri around the place to return her packed lunch.
Rei pays the entry fee – you feel weird when either of the men pay for things for you, but it’s not like you have your own money. You’ve raised it before it with Kazuki before but he was quick to reassure you. The front desk gives you a map of the place, wishing you a pleasant day as you unfold it – the place is huge, drawings of the animals are spotted about to show you what’s where but it seems there’s a route that’ll take you round the whole place. There are some people milling around as you enter and you start to feel a little nervous, but Rei takes your hand instinctively - without question, without fanfare, but it makes your head tingle and with him, all your worries are instantly quelled without a word being spoken.
The morning goes by so fast with all the enclosures and exhibits you visit. Every animal you see enchants you both and there’s a look of childlike wonder on Rei’s face that is just so adorable. At points, you can’t believe you’re actually here, free of that awful place, bruises healed, a full stomach… At any second, maybe you could find yourself back in the closet and it’s all just been a wonderful dream. But then Rei squeezes your hand, points out something, and you’re grounded once more.
Just before lunchtime, you find yourselves at the big cats exhibits – lions and tigers. You’re both quite taken by them, watching as they laze in the mid-morning sun.
“I t-think l-lions are my f-favourite.”
“Mm. Why’s that?” Rei asks.
“I a-always t-thought they l-looked quite c-cuddly.
Nearby the big cats enclosure is the picnic area and it seems the ideal it’s time to partake in Kazuki’s spread. He even packed a picnic blanket, you note, and help Rei lay out a myriad of boxes, all filled with Kazuki’s delicious delicacies.
“D-did he t-think we w-were going to feed the an-animals too?”
Rei smiles at your quip. “You know Kazuki. He was still working on it when I went to bed.”
After an incredibly generous and delicious lunch, you lie down on your back on the grass and sigh contentedly, looking up at the sky.
“I t-think I m-missed this t-the most.”
“Lying down?” You’re not quite sure if he’s teasing you, but Rei lies down besides you a moment later.
“That, and b-being under t-the open sky, c-cloud watching.”
“Cloud watching?”
“Mm. H-have you d-done it b-before?” You turn your head to see his expression grow puzzled.
“I don’t think so.”
“N-not even as a k-kid?”
“No.” He sounds almost embarrassed and you feel bad for mentioning his childhood. Kazuki has mentioned things when the two of you had been alone, mainly talking about Rei’s ‘progress’ since he first met him.
“T-that’s okay. You s-spot s-s-shapes in the c-clouds. Like…” You point up at a cloud and tilt your head, “that one k-kinda looks like a rab-rabbit.”
“Huh,” Rei tilts his head in a similar fashion. “I see it.” He looks around for a few moments, before pointing to his right. “Like, that one sort of looks like an elephant… if you squint.”
“S-see, expert al-already,” you smile, warmly. As he places his arm back down, you can’t tell if he misjudged or it was an incredibly smooth move, but soon your fingers are laced together as you sit and watch the clouds drift by in silence.
“Are you happy, Kitty?” Rei asks, tentatively.
“Y-yeah, I’m ha-happy.” You turn your head to look at him to show him your smile, but he looks troubled. “W-why?”
He doesn’t know what it is, maybe the brief mention of his childhood, or things he’s been pushing down since his feelings have been developing. “Kazuki and I just… We took you with us without really asking what you wanted, we just… took you home with us.”
“Not w-with ill in-intent.” You roll over onto your front, propping your head up with your elbows, leaning over him. “And I w-wasn’t r-really saying m-much, huh? I l-like being w-with y-you.”
“I worry we’re just as bad as him.” He says, softly.
“No,” you say, as firm as you ever have. “N-never. Rei, you, Zuki a-and Miri, y-you all care f-for me and I care ab-about you. It’s s-s-so different. Why are y-you thinking a-about that?”
“I don’t know…” He shrugs. “I just… I hate thinking about what your life must’ve been like there. He took all your freedom away, he hurt you…” He’s been piecing it together with the snippets of information that come up in your conversations, along with what he saw of your living arrangements in the house that night. The blank look on your face when your abductor had a gun pressed into your temple and Rei holding his own firearm aloft. People would plead, sob, beg, drop to their knees, bargain, bribe. He would’ve said there wasn’t even an ounce of fear in your eyes when you were a trigger-pull from death, and it would’ve been true, but he couldn’t forget the look he recognized as relief, either. It reminded him of how he was before Kazuki had shown up in his life – cleaning, cooking… caring for him.
“B-but I’m not there any-anymore. I’m w-with you.” You think carefully ahead of your next sentence. “There w-w-were okay t-times, too.” Okay doesn’t seem the right word but you can’t think what else might suit. “Like, s-s-sometimes he was a-away and I w-w-would go into h-his li-library and r-read. No-one e-ever really w-w-went in there.” It wasn’t really a library – he just referred to it as that to guests to try and elevate his status, you supposed. It was a room lined with bookshelves. It was horrendously dusty in there the first time you’d been sent to clean it and you’d never even seen him with a book in his hand or around his general vicinity either. His entire collection consisted of leatherbound hardbacks and you’re sure he didn’t come into possession of any of them legitimately.
“You like to read?” He enjoys finding out this little tidbits about you.
You nod. “I l-like f-fantasy and, well…” you swallow, “r-romance.”
“Oh?” He places an arm behind his head.
“Mm. Like, a val-valiant hero s-slays the beast, s-saves t-the d-damsel.” There’s a warm smile on his face as he listens to you talk. His hair framing his face just so… If this were a novel, you think he’d kiss you. If you were braver, you think maybe you’d kiss him.
But you don’t – it’s too big of a step, there’s still uncertainty, clumsiness in this relationship, if it is a relationship? You don’t know – maybe it’s too soon for that. These are the things you’ve missed out on, you think – the things that he took away from you. But then, if that hadn’t have happened, would you have met Rei, Kazuki and Miri? It’s confusing.
“I’ll have to remember that.”
“I am h-happy t-though.” You emphasise. “Thank you f-for bringing m-me here.”
He nods, sitting up. “Well, still more to see.”
--
You’re near the exit when, without warning, there’s a loud bang nearby and you jump out of your skin. It’s odd - you’d got so used to the gunfire in the house that it seems stupid that such a loud noise would set you off now, but it takes you back there, trying to work out how far away it is from you. Your mind panics though – shelter, you need to take shelter. Table, chair, sofa, none of which are around. This time, though, the shelter ends up being the man beside you, grabbing him around the waist and pressing your head into his chest, before you can really think. Warm arms wrap around you, squeezing you softly.
“You’re okay, it was a balloon.” He murmurs into your ear. He can see the large rabbit and alpaca mascots, holding a bunch of colourful balloons aloft, one string now hanging limply. They’re handing them out to children as they go.
“So-” You go to step back but Rei holds firm.
“Please don’t apologise for seeking comfort from me, Kitty. It’s my honour.”
You can feel your face burn a little at that – how does he know exactly the right thing to say to make you feel so flustered? You nod into his chest and relax into a cuddle, at least until your heart’s stopped threatening to beat out of your chest, you reason.
A few moments later, though you feel you could stay there forever, you head out towards the exit. There’s an employee thanking everyone for visiting as they pass, standing besides the mascots as they pass out the balloons.
“We hope you enjoyed your visit!” The woman bows. “Would you like me to take a photo of you both to remember your trip?”
Rei’s hand hovers over his pocket for a second, debating. He knows that Kazuki and him try and avoid photographs of them together, and now especially with Miri… but maybe on his phone it wouldn’t hurt? Kazuki’s always talking about a cloud something. He’s handed it over to the employee before he can finish rationalizing it before he remembers you.
“Would you…?”
But you’re already smiling in anticipation. He steps closer to you, slides an arm around your waist and you both smile, anxiously, awkwardly, adorably at the camera.
You pop to the restroom in the giftshop on the way out. Rei is waiting outside when you’re finished, his phone in one hand – staring at the photograph taken only a short while ago – but now with a paper bag in the other that he didn’t have before. He holds it out to you as you return.
“A gift - for you to remember the day.” He explains to the quizzical look on your face as you take it. Peeking in the bag, you see the top of a plush lion. “You said you thought lions were your favourite, and that looked like one you could cuddle, so…” He trails off, awkwardly.
You couldn’t stop the giddy smile that was on your face – not that you’d want to - as you pulled it out the bag and clutched it close to your chest. “Rei! Thank you, that’s so sweet.” You look up at him, looking directly into his eyes. “I love it.”
His eyes widen briefly and there’s a split second of confusion but then it hits you – that’s definitely the most words you’ve said stutter-free and now, for some stupid reason, you feel incredibly self-conscious about it. What does he think? What if he thinks it means you’ve been faking it this entire time? Is he going to question it…? Rei takes your hand – doesn’t mention it aloud, doesn’t make a big deal. You don’t know what it is about his touches, but they just make all your worries evaporate.
“I’m glad. Come on, let’s go home.”

Ughhh, I'm not sure about this chapter at all, but I'm finally hitting post and just hoping you like...

Yandere Buddy Daddies x Delinquent Teen Reader (1)
Tumblr media
You’re home was on the streets
Practically abandoned by your parents, you relied on one of the local gangs for your family
Working to join them for some semblance of protection against the world
And as it would happen it helped
Despite your teachers and guardian-having friends warning otherwise
Thanks to them you were eating
A far cry from what you were left to before
But past aside your doing well
Gaining experience and becoming more of an asset to the gang before your saddled with an unlikely obstacle
“Hi there! My name’s Miri, what’s your name?”
Suddenly this bubbly smiley kid is following you around
Somehow finding you in dark alleyways and shadows of buildings
This kid just won’t leave you alone
No matter how much you reprimand, sneer, or blatantly insult this kid
“Kid! Didn’t I tell you to kick rocks? Now if you don’t leave I’ll steal your shoes.”
“W-what, don’t take my shoes my papas got them for me!”
“Then. Leave. Me. Alone.”
she just won’t leave you alone and it all comes to a head when she approaches you when your with your friends
“Well well look at this little tyke!”
“Oh my gosh, they're so small! (Y/n) I didn’t know you had a baby sister!”
“I don’t.”
“Yeah! My name’s Miri.”
And despite your protests they all invite pressure Miri to join you all on a…midnight stroll
Along a train track
It goes as expected and your crew successfully go along the train track until you hear the dreaded sound of the train
And as it would have it Miri’s shoes get caught
“Is everyone off the tracks?”
“Whooo that was close!”
“Where’s Miri?”
Your group resigns to stand by and watch horrified as she struggles with the track and the oncoming train approaches
Way too close to the train you’re able to yank Miri from the tracks narrowly missing the train hurling by
“Whoa that was clo–”
“See what happens?”
“What? What are you talk–”
“See what happens when you hang around me?!”
“W-what but I love be–”
“You! Almost died! Can’t you see?! You don’t belong here so GO! Go home before you really get hurt.”
She goes home that day with tears in her eyes
While you wordlessly turn back to your group to head back to base
hoping that you don’t see her ever again
For awhile you don’t and things are back to normal
And while you’re spray painting the gang’s sign on a wall a burly woman knocks you to the ground
“Hey watch it, punk!”
“You wanna go pipsqueak!”
Apparently she was from a rival gang, looking to contest this area
Sending a quick call to your team, you prepare to fight this lady
Narrowly ducking her first punch
You throw your own
Standing victorious as she buckles
But you too would fall to your knees
after a whopping hit in the back of your head
It was an ambush
And easily you found yourself at their mercy
Only being released when you hear the separate thuds and the released grip from your arms
“What the–ooomf!”
Your original attacker is silenced by a guy with blonde hair
Who punches them into a headlock before pulling a gun with silencer
“H-hey-”
Before you could stop him he pulled the trigger, nonchalantly reaching to the sky in a stretch
“Ah man after so long it seems I’ve still got it!”
You shakily stand holding your arm that stings in pain
You try to limp away while he continues flexing
But he notices
“Ah ah! (Y/n) don’t run away!”
You sneered, “How do you know my name?”
“Uh…not important. But look, you need to come home with me! Miri misses-”
“Ugh are you Miri’s daddy or something?”
“Papa actually–” “Look old man, what I said to your kid is true. She needs to stay far away from me and you know what? Maybe you should try watching her better.”
“We did. And we were.”
The tired voice was right above you
Close enough to your back that you could now register the warmth teeming off them
You jump, despite the pain you back away against the brick wall
The man that spoke had black hair pulled back to reveal a pale guy with a grave look on his face
“Ah-! What he means is: we’ve been watching after you and Mirin. And we’ve decided that we’re going to be the papas you need!”
“What?!”
“Ahem we’ve decided–” “You're coming with us.”
“What?! Huh?!”
“Rei! You can’t just say that they're not going to understand!”
“They’ll understand better when we get them home.”
“No no but there’s a method for these things and with someone of their age–”
The blonde kept talking to the one identified as Rei seemingly dividing their attention
You took the chance to limp as far as you could away reaching into your pocket to retrieve your last line of defense
“That’s enough of that.”
In a flash of black your pocket knife was out of your hand
Briefly squealing in pain at the pressure point being hit near your neck
Slumping into Rei’s arms he moved to cradle you rolling his eyes at Kazuki’s musings
“Rei!? They obviously weren’t ready!”
“They would’ve never been ready.”
“But we did the whole save-them-be-the-saviors-routine!”
“Does it really matter now that we have them?”
“...Mmmm….Mmmmm!...I still would’ve preferred my way.”
The sounds of tires screeching and the sound of modded engines coming to halt
Had them both perking up
“Oh! Those bad influences actually came!”
“That was unexpected. The broken brakes should have kept them busy.”
“Now here’s the question: do we handle them now or later?”
“Did you throw your back out yet?”
“Hah! Not yet, yours?”
“...”
“Then I say we give ‘em a show!”
When you next awake
You’re in a well furnished room
All patched up and nursing a sling for your arm
Immediately you get up finding yourself at the top of the stairs before you spotted them
“Hiii (Y/n)!!!” “Ah, good morning (Y/n) did you sleep well?”
There words don’t reach you as you register the blonde man from before and the little girl who’d been following you around
Why were they acting so calm?
They kidnapped you!
And the little girl was in on it too?
“Welp, we're heading out for preschool.”
 “Yup bye (Y/n) later I can’t wait to cele–mmmf!”
The blonde’s hand goes over her mouth sending her to get her shoes before waving to you
“I’ll be back soon! Breakfast is on the counter!”
Not long after they disappeared from sight you heard the slam of the door
Good now you can–
“Going to have breakfeast?”
Once again that voice rang from behind you
Turning to see the same man with the grave face but this time with scruffier-relaxed look to him
His eyes were still intense and they held you in place all the way to the kitchen
While eating some regretfully delicious french toast with Rei watching diligently
Guess this was your life now…the newest unwilling addition to the family

OK, see, here's the thing:
I'm fine with Rei and Kazuki being friends only. That's absolutely fine! A family doesn't need to have two parents that have romantic feelings for each other! And also, we need more queerplatonic relationships and platonic life partner representation in media anyways! So, screw romance!
But then. The mf show pulls this sh*t on me:

LIKE, KAZUKI, MY DUDE WHY YOU HAVE THAT LOOK IN YOUR EYES HUH?
That scene is the definition of "and his gaze softened" YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE
P.A. WORKS WHY YOU GOTTA DO THIS TO MEEEEE

Tub Time (Rei x Reader)
Tumblr media
Genre: Fluff + Smut | fem!reader Word Count: 1.9k Content Warning(s): Smut Spicy time in a tub, Rei’s first time, Praise kink, 18+ only Author’s Note: Very self indulgent soft smut because he won’t leave my mind <3 Esp how fatherly he was in today’s episode okie enjoyyy.
You kicked off your shoes as you entered Rei’s apartment. You practically lived there by now with how close you two have gotten and how much he wants you around. After a long day at your corporate job, you just wanted to relax in his arms. You took long strides and approached him, noticing that he was playing games in in the dark again. You were able to slip yourself under his arms, sitting between his legs as you gazed at his shooting abilities in the game. “Welcome home,” he mumbled whilst planting kisses on your scalp and inhaled your scent while still keeping his eyes still on the game.
You relaxed into his touch and tilted your head back to look at your lover. “I missed you baby,” you mused. “Missed you too,” he hummed, still attentive on his game. You wanted his attention and touch after a long day, but you knew how much his games acted as a relaxer to him. “Where’s Kazuki and Miri?” you asked wondering as the entire apartment was dark other than the TV screen. “Arcade. Miri kept complaining so Kazuki took em.” You hummed, realizing that you had the whole apartment to yourselves at the moment. They wouldn’t be back for awhile as it was still early if they just left. You shifted your weight and turned to face him, wanting to shower him with kisses.
You planted your face in the crook of his neck and smiled. You peppered kisses up his neck and on his jawline, something that always got him flustered and a surefire way to give you attention. “Baby…” you whispered calling him a pet name he oh so loves. He whimpered, giving into your attempts at getting him to pay attention to you. He set down his controller and gazed at you, something he would never do for anybody else. He would usually be irritated if somebody interrupted his gaming sessions but you? He gladly would put everything down for you. He leaned down and captured your lips with his. He seemed needy too. The two of you hadn’t gone too far in terms of being physical. You knew that Rei was still a virgin as he shyly confessed the fact to you and you hadn’t gotten any action in years. As of recently, the two of you have been taking it further, furthest being making out and touching each other fully clothed.
You knew that he loved being praised and being called pet names whilst being intimate. He always felt comfortable with your touch and craved it at times. You pressed your forehead onto his and caressed his jaw. “You’re so pretty Rei, I missed you a lot…” you trailed off, staring into his blue-grey orbs illuminated by the TV screen being on in the background. “You’re beautiful,” he mumbled leaning in to close the gap between the two of you. You let your mouths collide and tongues dance around each other in a heated kiss. You snaked your hand to the back of his head, ruffling through his hair and running your fingers through his scalp, something that he surprisingly loved and made calmed him down.
You pulled back, feeling warm in the cheeks as you pressed your body closer to his, straddling your legs around his waist. You could feel his length bulging from the skinny jeans that he was wearing, indicating that he was thoroughly aroused by your actions. You pressed into him whilst sucking a hickey onto the side of his neck. “Just marking you as mine love,” you mouthed as he tilted his head back in pleasure. He let his hips be in control as he thrusted a bit to put pressure on your core that was already very needy. You ground down on him after the action, eliciting a soft moan of pleasure. His moans were high pitched, something that you did not expect when the two of you fooled around for one of the first times. “Let’s go to the- tub,” Rei breathed out, not wanting Kazuki and his daughter to walk in on the two of you getting frisky on the couch. You hummed in agreement as you reluctantly got off of him, core still aching and his bulge now more apparent and damp from your juices and his precum.
You interlaced your fingers in his hand as the two of you made your way to the washroom and to the tub where he sometimes slept. He never imagined getting intimate in it but he didn’t mind if it was with you. You pressed him against the wall, taking charge a bit as he was still a bit awkward with his actions at times. You trailed your hand down his collarbone, past his abs, and towards his hardened length. You rubbed your hands over his bulge, squeezing at his tip eliciting another moan from him. He was definitely needy now and so were you. “Do you want your first time to be with me tonight Rei?” You asked, looking at him with lustful eyes. “Yeah, I’m ready. (Y/N) I need you…” he pleaded. You smiled at him sweetly, unbuttoning his jeans letting his cock breathe a bit more. You let yourself slide down his body and plant gentle kisses on his bulge, just separated by his boxers. “You’re doing so well my love, let me know if you’re not okay with anything I do.” He nodded whilst staring down at you with his cheeks tinted pink. “T-touch me (Y/N)”.
You slid his boxers down to reveal his length, already leaking from his tip and ready for you. You felt your core flush with wetness as you became more aroused. You stood back up and proceeded to strip yourself of your pants. You stayed in your panties as you took a hold of his length and dragged it across them, practically feeling what is underneath because of how soaked them have become from your arousal. He let out a moan as his hands gripped your hips. “Let me make you feel good tonight baby,” you whispered to him with a kiss on the cheek. “Please…” he begged, thrusting up into your clothed core for friction. You finally peeled yourself from the wet panties and dragged his length across your now, bare, entrance. His tip slid across your folds and slipped in your hole really easily from the amount of arousal the two of you had amounted. “Fuck…” he whimpered, feeling the pleasure from the nerves on his tip. “Mm baby let’s get in the tub, it’s kinda hard for me to make you feel good when you’re so tall and I’m down here.” He nodded, not wanting to let himself slip out so soon but he knew what was coming soon. He slipped out, his length hardening even more, wanting your touch.
He crawled into the tub and you followed, getting on top of him so you could make him feel good as his first time. You leaned down and captured his lips with yours as you placed a hand on his hardness, squeezing it and putting pressure on his tip. He moaned into the kiss and panted after you pulled away. “I want to feel you,” he confessed as you gestured his length across your folds again. You sunk down on his cock, feeling his ridges for the first time as you tilted your head back in pleasure. “F-fuck Rei, you feel so good in me, you’re taking me so well,” you praised. He let his hips thrust into you as you let out a small yelp, not expecting him to move so fast. “Shit (Y/N), did I hurt you?” You shook your head and smiled. “No baby just wasn’t expecting it, it’s been awhile for me too so I’m kinda getting used to it too.” He gave you a soften lustful smile, something that you hadn’t seen before.
You let yourself settle on him before moving again, bouncing your hips up and down on his length. He was whimpering, gripping at your hips with his mouth half open. You had never seen this side of your lover before, so vulnerable and weak for you. You clenched around his length, eyes half open to see his reaction. He squirmed under you and thrust his hips up involuntarily, wanting more of you. “Mm Rei you feel so good like this, I feel like one with you,” you mused as you planted kisses on his bare chest and on his scars. “You make me feel so good Rei,” you whispered to him. “Fuck… (Y/N) I’m so close…” he breathed out. You rode yourself on him more to get closer to your release. Clenching around him, you rasped, “Then finish, inside me, I’m… on the pill, please,” you panted. You felt him twitch inside you as his rhythm of thrusting became irregular. You felt your core flush again of how aroused you are, watching him underneath you in such a pleasure-filled state. You clenched around him as you felt a gush of his seed inside of you, followed by more pumps from his pulsating length. That was enough to send you over the edge as you whimpered his name out. “Rei… Rei I’m… there too!” You tilted your head back in ecstasy as he interlaced his hands with yours, clenching your hole around his overstimulated length made him also whimper with pleasure. “Damn Rei… you felt… so good,” you managed to sputter out after your high.
The two of you were a bit of a sweaty mess. The mirrors in the washroom were fogged up too, you noticed as you placed your forehead on his. His dark strands now sticking to his face and framing his jawline. You gave him a soft kiss on the tip of his nose. “You did so well baby. I hope it was a good first time for you,” you mumbled. He opened his eyes and gazed into your orbs as well. “It was amazing. I love you (Y/N).” You pressed another kiss onto his lips again, not wanting the intimacy to end with your lover.
The moment was cut short by a slam heard throughout the apartment and banging on the washroom door. “Rei please let me in, I gotta go so baaadd.” The sound of Kazuki on the other side startled the two of you. The two of you looked at each other, realizing you were still connected with each other and haven’t cleaned up yet. “Fuck…” Rei mumbled under his breath. “Rei please!!” Kazuki sounded desperate on the other side. “Shit uh, one second!” The two of you awkwardly separated yourselves as fluids dripped out from you. You wanted to give him good aftercare but it was awkwardly cut short by his partner in crime. You wrapped a towel around yourself as Rei was able to shimmy into his clothes again. You opened the door ajar as you peaked your head out, surprising Kazuki. “(Y/N)? You’re here too?” He glanced up at Rei, looking more disheveled as usual. “I was just uh, gonna take a shower…” you excused as you stepped outside the washroom. Rei slid past as Kazuki stepped in. “Wait shower, but Rei you… wait…” he narrowed his eyes at the two of you and noticed the fogged up mirrors.
“You two are nasty!”

Headcanons for Aihaitham, Vox, Luca, and Rei with shy gn s/o?
hi, anon, i did get your request, and thank you !! hope you like this <3
Vox, Luca, Alhaitham & Rei with a Shy! GN Lover
characters: vox akuma & luca kaneshiro from luxiem, alhaitham from genshin impact and suwa rei from buddy daddies
notes: gender neutral reader, slightly ooc, uses of petnames such as love and darling, just fluff, nothing else enjoy!! (haven't proofread yet, so lmk of any errors!)
[ vox akuma ]
you've known vox to be someone who isn't shy with affection nor words, so he definitely likes bringing out a reaction out of you knowing that you're shy.
pda is his thing, and the first time he held you and you got so red, the image of that is basically permanently planted in his head.
vox is very reliable, so i assume that he would be the type that will do stuff for you if you can't. for example, he'll initiate most of the affection and will always be sure that you're comfortable.
he would ask for permission before touching you, so that you don't get surprised when he suddenly snakes an arm around your waist while your doing some chores.
he definitely notices your efforts in being the first to approach him, but he'll never push you to do it. so imagine how proud he was when you were the first to ask for a kiss after you both started dating.
"my, isn't this something, darling?", still manages to tease you before he gently leans into your lips, slightly feeling you tremble before holding you tight to reassure you.
he would tease you sometimes, but doesn't do it often because he doesn't wanna make you feel uncomfortable. so, he'll only usually do it if he notices that you're being playful.
the type to definitely sneak kisses when he thinks your asleep because he just finds you adorable!
overall, isn't really a problem to him knowing that his loveable significant other is shy around him, in fact, he likes it!
[ luca kaneshiro ]
luca's very social! so it was a surprise to him at first when he found out that you were actually shy.
hesitant to tease you, but does it anyway lmao
he thought you didn't like him, that's why you were so quiet (you were actually so into him, you just didn't know what to do)
once you both progressed into the relationship, luca would be the type that would play small pranks on you to see your reaction (mostly because he wants to see you smile)
isn't pushy with pda, but you can never resist his puppy eyes. he doesn't even know it's his charm, it just works!
pda in public happens occasionally, mostly because it's you who initiate it. otherwise, luca wouldn't want to push it (not that he doesn't like it, he's also kinda flushdge)
luca's a man of many words, so he's definitely one to tell you plenty of stories while you listen attentively.
talks a lot, listens kinda trope
after a while, luca's become a natural around you. he knows you best when others don't! so, people sometimes say that he's a pro when it comes to you.
"ofc i'm an expert! i'm the best bf ever", makes you laugh when he says that in a silly voice.
long story short, luca's the type of so who tries his best to make you feel comfortable, so he's definitely the #1 material man.
(more utc!)
[ alhaitham ]
ah, yes. the scribe. the acting grand sage. the man who ppl assume has no care for others and is extremely ignorant.
lies. lies everywhere.
alhaitham is the type to act really cold or carefree in front of others, but in front of you? baby.
it's probably your shy nature that makes him so comfortable. (prefers you over anything, so >>>>)
comes home and would drape himself all over you, while you get all flustered and red. this man will just laugh and pecks your cheek.
hes cheeky like that, i just know it.
very protective. literal definition of protective.
saw kaveh try to talk to you one time while he wasn't home and mans ran just to push kaveh away from you.
people know that you're both together because alhaitham makes it a habit to flaunt his locket of you every chance he has.
"acting grand sage, regarding this matter-" "it's 5. work is done. now, if you'll excuse me, i have someone waiting for me at home", literally leaves the office in the middle of a meeting bcs he will never come home late.
"love, im home" "uh, haitham, your co-worker called-" "pay them no mind, love. they're idiots", gets all handsy with you.
alhaitham doesn't really care that you're shy, he actually likes when you act all natural and blush around him only.
anyways, you're his beloved that he cares more than anything else. lowkey a simp. (i love goofy alhaitham sm im sorry)
[ suwa rei ]
rei is not a man of many words, we know that. so he doesn't really mind your preserved nature. in fact, it's like you both connect telepathically.
you were the first to ask him out (much to your own surprise), and rei thought you were really cool.
i feel like rei is also protective but he hides it a lot. the type who would sort of stalk you just to make sure your safe.
he may not talk much, but he does it for you. he knows what it feels like not being able to speak, so he doesn't push it onto you.
you and kazuki are probably besties, because kazuki bribes you with information abt rei you've never heard of before, and rei is always trying to separate you both.
he actually likes seeing you all sparkly and excited.
the both of you were pretty awkward early on in the relationship since talking wasn't really a thing.
but after a while, rei got used to the idea of having you around that he doesn't act all lazy anymore (kazuki thanks the lord for you).
if you also play games, expect a lot of late night dates where you both play games and hang out.
rei trusts you with his life, and is probably most comfortable with you. so, he isn't shy to prove that he loves you.
confesses out of the blue so often just to make sure you still love him.
"y/n." "yea, rei?" "i love you", sees your cheeks redden and smirks in satisfaction. (hes a fucking tease, i just know so)
overall, rei is the best if you're an introvert or prefer quiet dates. idk i just feel like rei doesn't mind you being shy because he himself has no care for anything skskksk (in a good way ofc).
a/n: okay, i just wrote what came into mind, so im sorry if this is a little scuffed! since valentine is tomorrow, feel free to request for valentine-themed hcs or imagines -> here!
happy early valentine's everyone <3 i'm spending it alone sadge T.T but i'll probably write some fics tmrw! see you - eden

I need to point out that Rei never sleeps soundly, he is easily startled and ready to jump up in case of someone breaking in. But he slept so soundly and calmly when he was in a bed with Kazuki and Miri because he felt safe with them. Miri pulled his hair! Kazuki even called his name and he wouldn't wake.

Kitty (part 9)
Parts 1-8 here. Rei x (afab) reader, usual fluff but also... Warnings: Implied gun violence, kidnapping, blood, panic attacks
This chapter is suuuper long, so buckle up! --
Kazuki and Rei get assigned some reconnaissance work from Kyu that takes place over the weekend and into the early week. You reassure the blonde you’re perfectly happy to watch over Miri whilst they’re out, keeping her entertained and fed as they spend the next three days on the job. They’re up early and back late, but Rei sends you sweet text messages to check in whenever he can.
It’s now early Tuesday afternoon – Kazuki dropped off the information to Kyu this morning, and you’re working on the breakfast and lunch dishes with Kazuki. Rei is tackling the folding of the laundry, though Kazuki is keeping a close eye.
As you dip a pan in the hot, soapy water, a sharp pain shoots through your head and you let go, instinctively rubbing the side of your head when you flinch – it’s the telltale beginning of a headache.
“You okay there, Kitty?” Kazuki questions, a cloth in hand as he dries. You nod your head, continuing the therapeutic scrubbing of the pans but he’s leaning forward now, trying to get a good look at you. “You’re looking a little flush.”
The back of his hand is suddenly pressed on your forehead. “Huh, you’re feeling a little bit warm too.”
“A fever?” Rei questions over his shoulder.
You shake your head, “No, I f-feel okay,” but another pain twinges through your head, ruining your performance. The two men stare at you. “OK, maybe m-my head hurts a l-little, b-but it’s f-fine.”
Kazuki side-steps between you and the sink now and hands you a cloth to dry off your hands. “Go sit down. I’ll get the thermometer.”
You nod, walking around the counter to go sit on the couch, unsure why but it’s obvious that Kazuki isn’t going to let you bluff your way out of it. You’d always worked through illnesses in the past, he was hardly going to give you a day off.
Moments later, Kazuki is kneeling down in front of you, asking you to stick the thermometer under your tongue. There’s a beep and he muses over the results, Rei hovering over his shoulder. “Temperature’s running a little high, but only a little. I still think it’s the beginning of a fever. It must be something from daycare, Ms Anna warned there was something going around.”
“Should we go to hospital?”
Kazuki smiles at his room-mate’s concern. “It’s just a bug, no need for that.” The blonde gets to his feet, clearing a path in front of you. “Go on, to bed with you. I’ll send Rei up with some medication in a minute, okay?”
“B-bed?”
“Yep – you need to rest. Go on.”
“B-but I can finish the d-dishes first…” You frowned at the counter.
“You’re sick.” Kazuki stressed. “Pyjamas on, in bed, rest.”
“Go on, Kitty. I can do them.” Rei nods, hoping that might encourage you to listen.
“Okay. Just f-for a b-bit.” You hold the railing as you go up the stairs, knowing that every step is being scrutinized.
By the time you’ve changed into your pyjamas – an activity that seems to make you feel more warm than anything else – and got in the bed, Rei arrives with a tray in hand, balancing a glass, pitcher of water and a box of medication, looking concerned. “Kazuki says to take two of these – that’ll it help with the temperature and the headache.” He places it down on the bedside table before removing the tablets from the box, popping out two and holding them out to you.
You’d be skeptical of taking them if it wasn’t Rei offering them to you. You pop them in your mouth and wash them down with water, leaning back into the pillows.
“I r-really don’t f-feel that bad…”
When Rei was young and sick, Boss made him run. Sweat it out, boy. All he’d wanted to do was sleep, but he wasn’t permitted a day off training for such a trivial thing as a fever. He has a job to do, it’s not going to wait, and Boss said working through it would only strengthen his immune system. He’d been sick once soon after Kazuki had moved in – he’d blamed the blonde for bringing his germs in – and Kazuki had manhandled him into his actual bed, got him to drink some disgusting medicine, put a wet cloth on his forehead – he had to admit that bit had been nice - and promised him unlimited ramen cups if he’d remain in the bed the rest of the day and night. Hell, the man had even stayed besides him, switching over the cloths periodically, getting him to drink more medicine, watching him like a hawk.
The next day he had felt much better, he had to admit.
“I know,” Rei kneels down besides the bed, “but better to be cautious. Just rest a bit - for me, okay?”
You’ve been getting better at saying no, but how can you say no to that face?
“Okay,” you mumble, shuffling down in the bed a little. “Are y-you r-really going to w-wash the dishes?”
“Kazuki started doing them as soon as I headed up here. Said we still need to work on a ‘proper scrubbing technique’, apparently.” Rei huffs. “Why are you so worried about the dishes?”
“I’m n-not,” you avoid eye contact, staring at the bed covers.
“Kitty…”
“I w-want to e-earn m-m-my place.”
“Earn?” He frowns.
“Y-yeah. I d-don’t h-have a-any m-m-money or a j-job and I k-k-know Zuki is a-always k-keeping a c-close eye on the b-b-budget and I’m an ad-ad-added ex-expense”, you’re growing flustered, your breath catches in your throat and your stutter is out of control. You dig your nails into your palms, “so the l-least I c-can d-do is c-clean a-and…”
Rei’s hand is now on your cheek, tilting your head to face him. “Breathe,” he reminds, gently. Looking in his eyes grounds you for a moment and you nod, inhaling deeply and purposefully.
“You don’t need to earn anything here. What’s mine is yours, okay? I don’t even need to ask Kazuki to know he’d say the same. Plus, he’s the original couch crasher, so that position’s already taken.” He jokes.
“I w-want to b-be useful, h-have a p-p-purpose…”
“You are and you do, and we can figure out some things when you’re feeling better. But, for right now, I just need you to rest. Please?”
You nod, a little shakily, before laying down fully. It is nice to be lying down.
“Thank you.” He gets up to his feet and pulls the blinds down, blocking out the early afternoon sun.
“C-can you s-stay f-for a bit?”
“Of course.” He returns to the space besides the bed, leaning up against the bedside table. “Close your eyes, I’ll be here.” He lays his hand on top of yours, gently before he withdraws his phone with his other hand, muting the volume and loading up a game. You close your eyes – your head hurts less so with the darkened room. You could just lay like this for a while, right? Then the headache will pass and you can get up and get on with the housework, just lay there for a little longer, listening to Rei tap away at the phone screen…
--
“Come on,” Kazuki whispers. “We haven’t picked Miri up together in a while. Kitty’ll be fine – she’ll probably sleep better without you hovering over her.”
Rei nods, getting up from his vigil. He hadn’t wanted to leave you really in case you needed anything, but Kazuki is probably right. It isn’t a long trip to the daycare, at least, and you do seem pretty asleep now. He leans over you to brush some hair out of your eyes, noting you still feel a little clammy. He grabs hold of the lion he got you from the zoo – it’s lived in your bed ever since – and tucks it into your arms.
“I’ll be back soon, okay?” He murmurs, before leaving the room quietly and pulling the door to behind him.
--
You wake up a few hours later, a dull pain in your head but nothing as bad as earlier. You sit up and reach over to the bedside table, taking a swig of water from the glass, before getting to your feet. The alarm clock suggests you’ve been asleep for over three hours and Miri should be home from daycare and you get to your feet, hoping Kazuki and Rei will deem that enough of a rest to let you help out with the evening activities. Your bedroom door is slightly ajar and you hear Miri squeal – she’s usually quite excited when she first gets home but this level seems new. You wince, the noise sending a sharp pain through your head as you approach the door.
You then hear a distinctly female voice, followed by Kazuki. That’s different. Unexpected. There’s a short sentence that you recognize as Rei, then Miri giggling. You push the door shut, softly, unsure what to do. You think hard, trying to remember any female friend that they’ve mentioned before, but nothing springs to mind. You’re also not sure what rules there are, if any, around guests. They’d never had guests before. He always had guests – don’t talk unless spoken to (that one soon became unnecessary), show them respect, serve them as you would him. You turn and climb back into the bed and wait.
Downstairs, the little girl clocks your absence.
“Papas, where’s Kitty?” Miri frowns.
“You have a cat?” Misaki asks, politely.
“No.” Kazuki grunts. “She’s… a guest. Kitty wasn’t feeling very well, Miri, she’s resting in bed.”
“Oh, poor Kitty.” Miri frowns. But then her attention span drifts as she sees her pile of drawings, dragging her mother over to look.
“I should go check on her.” Rei suggests, getting up from the sofa but Kazuki grabs hold of his arm as he tries to walk past and pulls him back, hissing in his ear, “You are not leaving me alone with this woman, who knows what I’ll do?! I’ll go, you stay.” Rei pouts a little. He doesn’t want to be left alone either.
Kazuki knocks on the door gently and he finds you sitting up in the bed, looking nervous.
“H-hi.”
“How are you feeling?” He steps in and closes the door. You can tell his mind is preoccupied though.
“A l-little b-b-better, thanks.” You lie. “I w-would’ve come down b-but I heard so-somebody e-else and…” You don’t finish, feeling a little cowardly.
“Mm. Yeah, we have a ‘guest’. She’s called Misaki and she’s… Well, she’s Miri’s mother.”
You frown. “I t-t-thought…”
“Me too.” Kazuki sighs, leaning against the closed door. “Misaki seems to have had a change of heart. She wants to take Miri back.”
“Oh.”
“Can she do that? It’s been nearly a year. She just… She let her travel across the whole city on her own with nothing but a letter and an envelope of photos. She can’t just demand to take her back, can she?”
“I… I’m n-not sure.” You wish you could comfort Kazuki better. “You’ll n-need to s-sit and t-talk p-properly.”
“I know, I just don’t want to.” He sighs. “Do you feel up for coming downstairs? Miri was asking for you.”
You don’t really want to, but you do for Miri and Kazuki’s sake. You nod, getting out of the bed, grab the black zip up hoody and pull it over your pyjamas, following the blonde out the bedroom door.
When you get downstairs Misaki is nowhere to be seen, but Miri is delighted to see you, cuddling up against your legs. “Kitty, Mama’s here! Well, she was here, but she’s coming back. She’s going to make us dinner!”
“T-that’s exciting.” You smile, warmly.
“Are you feeling any better?” Rei stands besides you, scrutinizing your face.
You nod, give him a smile and lower your voice. “Is Z-Zuki okay?”
“Not particularly.” He shrugs. “We need to keep calm in front of Miri though. Are you sure you’re feeling better? Come on, sit down.”
A little while later, the buzzer goes.
“Do I have to let her back in?” Kazuki grumbles, but Miri has already sprinted to the front door and is jumping up and down, waiting for Kazuki to let her mama back in. He frowns as he sees her laden with shopping bags in hand, informing that she’s going to make Miri’s favourite dinner.
“Oh…” She smiles at you, unsure, looking you up and down. You wish you’d got changed out of your pyjamas. “Hello, I’m Misaki.”
“Mama, this is Kitty!” Miri beams, giddy with excitement to have all her favourite adults in one place.
“Oh, yes, the, er, guest?”
“Yes. H-h-hi.” There’s the look – the one you always get when you stutter. “N-nice to m-meet y-you.”
“What’s all this?” Kazuki asks, gesturing to the plastic bags in Misaki’s hands - thankfully ending this awkward interaction.
“Oh, well, I’m going to make Hamburg steak. I’m afraid I’ll have to use your kitchen…”
--
Dinner is awkward. There isn’t enough steak for everyone – Misaki only buying four – but that’s okay, you reassure, your appetite is a little off and you’re happy with rice and vegetables. Then there’s not enough chairs at the table, so you offer to sit elsewhere. Kazuki mutters that Misaki should offer to sit elsewhere, like in her own home for one, she’s the one imposing…
You can hear the stilted conversation - Kazuki getting upset as both Miri and Rei compliment the store-bought steak, but Miri is happy to have her papas and mama all together. You’re knelt down besides the coffee table with your dinner, trying your best to not feel excluded. You’d ate worse places and you’d offered, after all…
Rei comes and sits with you on the sofa after dinner, asking if you’re okay, squeezing your hand. You nod – it’s not like Misaki is moving in, you reason in your head, you’ll get your place back. Kazuki is mumbling angrily under his breath as he wipes the dining table, Miri and Misaki working together on the dishes. Miri is telling her mother about how they’re going to sing Silent Night at the daycare’s Christmas party. It’s clear how much Miri loves her mama, but you’ve seen how much the little girl adores Kazuki and Rei too. Not long after the dishes are complete, Miri jumps up besides you on the sofa with a loud yawn when Misaki visits the bathroom and in the time it takes her to return, Miri is snoring happily away. Seeing this, Kazuki takes his chance.
“Talk.” The blonde orders, sitting down at the table and pointing at a chair for Misaki to take.
“Can we do it in, er, private?” She asks, sitting down. You look down at Miri – maybe she hasn’t realized she’s asleep? But when you look up to clarify, you realize she’s looking at you.
“Kitty stays, she’s part of this family too.” Rei replies in a tense tone. You avert your eyes again, looking back at Miri sleeping peacefully on the couch. You’re not sure how this conversation is going to go – you know Kazuki is finding it difficult already and maybe tempers will fray. Miri is a solid sleeper… but, still, you’d hate for her to wake up to find her mama and papas having heated words.
“It’s o-o-okay. I’m f-f-feeling a l-l-little t-tired, so w-why don’t I t-t-take Miri up t-to b-bed?” You suggest. What would you add to the discussion anyway? You worry that you being there will give Misaki ammo, somehow. What are you exposing my daughter to?
“Are you sure?” Kazuki asks and you nod, perhaps a little too eagerly. “Okay, thank you.”
You gently pick the little girl up and she unconsciously snuggles into your arms. Three pairs of eyes of eyes linger on you as you walk up the spiral stairs, padding into Miri’s room and tucking her into her own bed. When you exit, you can hear Kazuki finding it difficult to contain his anger, but you head straight into your room, closing the door to behind you and climbing into bed, cuddling your lion to your chest.
--
“Run!” A voice demands. “Run…!” It’s your father, of course that’s your father’s voice – how could you have forgotten? He repeats it again, but this time, he says your name, or what you think is your name. The thing is, it’s muffled, almost as you’re underwater – you can’t make it out but you know that’s what he’s saying. Why can’t your brain comprehend it? “Run!” You know, somehow, he doesn’t mean out the front door, so you head to the one at the rear of the property – the one that overlooks the woodland. There’s screeching tyres from the front but you don’t look back. The ground is unsteady and you stumble over roots, branches scratching at your legs. It’s muddy – it’s not ideal for running and your shoes are getting stuck in the mud, you’re clumsy, you’re causing a racket. Why are you running? Where are you running to?
You trip, crashing into the ground, mud splatters up on your face. You know there’s no time to waste – your father’s tone had been desperate - so you grasp above you head blindly, trying to find purchase on a branch or a trunk or a rock. You manage to get back up to your feet, but there’s a sharp twinge in your ankle – you must’ve twisted it in the fall. You stagger forward but it’s useless, you’ve lost your momentum, you’ve lost the little bearings you’ve had, but still you limp forward. There’s a racket growing behind you and you try to increase your pace. Your ankle burns with every step, the mud seems to be grow stickier, pulling back at your feet every time you lift them. Pathetic. An arm grabs you around the waist, and you elbow back, demanding they get off you but you know it’s over then. They’re so much stronger – your elbows don’t even make them flinch.
Your wrists are pulled tightly behind your back, feeling like they’re trying to pull your shoulders out of their sockets. Something’s looped around them – a zip tie? – and tightened until it feels like it’s cutting deep into your skin. You’re span round and you get a glimpse of a face – not one you recognize - before you’re thrown over your assailant’s shoulder. They grumble at the state of you, the mud from your fall now sullying their suit.
You struggle but it’s pointless. Fingers pinch into your thighs as they begin to walk back to the house with you, or at least you think they are. It’s hard to tell, the way you’re being held means you can see nothing but the back of your captor. He’s looped an arm through your bound arms to keep you snug against him, and every jostle the restraints cut into your skin more. You know you’re not screaming – you know there’s no-one around here for miles.
You’re back inside the house now, but the room smells different – tangy, bloody…
You’re dropped down on the floor, opposite your father. His nose is bloody, his eye is blackening rapidly. You stare at him but you don’t say a word. Someone new enters the room and you look down at the ground.
“Aktomi, please.” Your father pleads, “If you just give me a little more time…”
“I’ve given you plenty of time.” He replies. “You haven’t even begun to scrape the surface. I need to collect today.” A pair of well-polished shoes appear in your view and the newcomer crouches down in front of you. A hand grasps your chin and tilts it up so you have to make eye contact and you try and swallow back down your fear. “And when I came to collect, you sent the most valuable thing you have running out the door.”
“Please, sir, I beg of you. My mistakes are nothing to do with her. She has her whole life ahead of her…” Your father is on the verge of tears.
He’s still holding you by the chin, fingers digging into your jaw as he twists your face side to side. You don’t what to think what he’s looking for.
“How old is she?”
“19, sir. She’s a dutiful daughter. Ever since her mother died, she’s been so good to me. I don’t deserve her…”
“No, you don’t,” he lets go at last, seeming happy with his findings and gets to his feet. “Put her in the car.”
“What?” You gasp, but you’re hoisted roughly off the ground, an arm looped through your bound wrists again, a hand grips hold of the back of your neck and forces your head down as you’re dragged out. You can’t get purchase on the ground to make a step, tripping over your own feet as they half-carry you. “Father!” You cry out, but it’s useless – you’re already out the door and up the footpath to the dirt road. Every step further they take you, you can hear your father plead and plead and plead… until there’s a solitary gunshot and you know.
There’s the sound of a door being opened and your neck is released, only for you then to be swept off your feet and dropped into the trunk of a car. You try and sit up but a hand pushes your shoulders firmly back down, causing your head to bang against the side console, making your vision swim. Then he appears, smiling at you.
“Enjoy the ride, sweetheart. I’ll decide how you can pay your father’s debts once we’re home.”
The world goes black.
Your eyes shoot open as you sit up, your breath already caught in your throat, covered in a cold sweat. It takes a second for your eyes to adjust – you’re in bed, you’re in Rei’s bedroom, you’re not in a car, you’re not back there… You’re fine, you’re fine, you’re fine - you try to reassure yourself but you have the sickening feeling once more of your breaths not being enough.
“Kitty?” The voice to your side startles you and you’re hyperventilating now, tears trickling down your cheeks and you’re gripping the bedsheet with both hands – willing yourself to just breathe but you can’t. Your head is trying to remember what Kazuki told you, breathing in and out for so many seconds, but you lose count and maybe you’re not breathing deep enough? Did it feel deeper last time? It’s not getting in.
Misaki had left a little while ago. Kazuki had stormed off to bed, but Rei couldn’t sleep. He wanted to see you, make sure you were okay, talk about what had occurred. The bedroom door had been slightly ajar when he’d got upstairs, so he’d poked his head in to find you tossing and turning in the sheets. He’d just made it to your side when you’d shot bolt-right up in the bed, panting.
He’s kneeling besides the bed now, pulling your hand from the bedsheet and gripping it tightly. He’s saying something but all you can hear is the pounding of your heart in your ears – why’s it so loud?  Rei is panicking too - should he get Kazuki? No, he doesn’t want to leave you on your own, not even for a moment. If he shouts for him, that’ll wake Miri too, surely. He takes a breath himself and tries to repeat what Kazuki told him but it’s soon clear you’re not focusing on him at all, staring blankly ahead of you as your eyes are damp with tears. He thinks back to his training – his instructor used to put his hand over his to adjust his positioning on various weapons, so maybe that could work here too. Could he get you to feel how he’s breathing? He gets to his feet and climbs behind you in the bed. His long legs are now either side of you and he reaches forward, grabbing your hands in each of his. He pulls you back and into his chest and he squeezes your hand one, two, three, four times as you feel him inhale behind you, his chest expanding. He’s exaggerating the movements, hoping to get through to you. One, two, three, four, he counts with a squeeze as he holds the breath. Another one, two, three, four as he releases the breath and starts the sequence again. You close your eyes and just try and focus on the rise and fall of his chest, mimicking the motion, and on the squeezes of his hands on yours. You don’t know how long it takes – minutes, hours? – but your breaths become deeper and calmer once more, returning to almost normal as Rei continues holding you tight, squeezing and breathing.
“Feeling better?” His voice murmurs in your ear, his breath tickling your neck.
You nod. “T-thank y-you.”
“No problem.” He hesitates briefly, before letting go of your hands. You immediately grab hold of his left arm, pulling it around your stomach. He tenses for a second but relaxes soon after.
“D-don’t g-g-go. P-please.”
“I won’t.” He soothes, “I’ll stay as long as you need me to, okay?”
You squeeze his hand, taking a shuddering breath. “N-ni-nightmare.” You confide before Rei can ask. He leans his head on your shoulder, wrapping his other arm around you without prompt, leaning back into the pillows. “A-about t-the n-n-night my f-father died. F-father, he… H-he was s-saying m-my n-n-name but I c-couldn’t h-hear it.”
“That must be frustrating. I’m sorry.”
You sit for a few moments, enjoying the grounding feeling of being wrapped in his arms as you continue to breathe in sync. As your thoughts begin to rationalize, you remember what had occurred before you’d fallen asleep.
“W-what happened with M-Misaki?”
“She’s got cancer. She doesn’t think she has long left to live.”
“Oh, t-that’s aw-awful.”
“Mm. She wants to live out the rest of her life with Miri, live her life now for Miri.” A pause. “She said she knows about our line of work, and that if we truly care about Miri, then we’d do what’s best for her.”
“T-that’s not f-fair.” Rei doesn’t reply, musing over it in his head. “What d-does Zuki t-think?”
“He didn’t say much – he just went to bed. I don’t know what we should do.”
You wish you knew the right thing to say, but you don’t. You know Kazuki and Rei love and adore Miri, they’ve done nothing but good for her. You don’t know much about Misaki’s life, but Miri obviously adored her so she can’t have been a terrible mother. Then again, how could a mother send their little girl out alone…?
“S-sleep on it.” You suggest. “Everyone’s e-emotions a-are high. S-sleep w-will help.”
You feel him nod on your shoulder. “And you, will you be able to sleep?”
“I… I d-don’t k-know.” You bite your lip. “I… I don’t want you to go.”
“I won’t go. I told you, I’ll stay as long as you need me.”
You close your eyes.
--
The first conscious thought is there’s a sharp burst vibration on his right leg. It’s signaling a text. The second is he has his arms wrapped around you, spooning you into the wall and he’s in your bed. It’s pleasant – your breathing is steady and you feel so soft and warm… There’s another vibration against his leg. He carefully removes his arm from around you to retrieve his phone – his other one will have to remain trapped under your sleeping form for now.
He turns away as he unlocks the device, not wanting the light from it to cast on your face. It’s a number he doesn’t have saved, which makes his gut sink because it can only mean one thing.
Boss wants to see you – immediately.
It’s a little after 6am – Boss has always been an early riser. It hasn’t been that long since he last saw him on his birthday, but so much has happened in that time. He was meant to be tying up loose ends, but then you came along and… Well, dominated his thoughts.
Rei slides his arm out from under you but you abruptly turn, mumbling in your sleep. He freezes, he doesn’t want to wake you up because of the Boss of all things. He spots the plush lion and presses it under your arm. You sigh, squeezing it and your breathing returns to its steady state.
He know he’s stealthy – it was a large part of his training, after all - but it doesn’t feel right to get changed whilst you’re in the room. He gathers up the necessary pieces of his suit and heads towards the door, pausing briefly to glance back at you and smile.
He dresses in the bathroom, checking his appearance in the mirror as he ties up his hair. He puts a change of clothes in a bag – the suit’s been feeling more constrictive recently, and not due to Kazuki’s cooking, so he doesn’t want to wear it longer than necessary. He’s halfway to the front door when he turns back, finds a scrap of paper and leaves a note on the dining table.
Taken the car. Back later – Rei.

Rei x Reader
Warning: Female reader.
Scenario: Not even an argument could keep Rei away.
Genre: Very light angst, but fluffy ending.
Word Count: 1,343
-------
"You're not sleeping over?" Miri frowns as she sees you putting on your shoes by the front door.  "No, sorry, Miri-chan. Not tonight."
"Tomorrow?" "Not tomorrow either. I'm a bit busy, but I can still see you during the afternoon when you're finished with daycare." You squat down to her level as she continues to pout at you. "You haven't sleeped over in forever!" "It's slept. Not sleeped." You corrected before embracing her. "It's only been a few days. Maybe soon I'll sleep over again. Just right now, I have a lot to take care of first, okay?" "Okay." Miri lets out a loud sigh after you let her go and stand to put on your jacket. "Let us know when you get home." Kazuki says before you completely leave the house. "Yeah, I will. I'll see you all later. Good night!" Once you exit through the door, Kazuki tells Miri to get ready for bed. The blonde male then looks to his dark haired roommate, frowning at how glued he was to his game. And it seems like he wasn't really paying much attention to it either based on his lack of wins. "You really should've walked __(y/n) home." "She didn't want me to." Rei answers back. Ever since you and Rei had an argument a few days ago, you two stopped talking. You only interacted just enough to avoid any questions from Miri. Other than that, Rei kept quiet and you and Kazuki did most of the talking. You didn't stop coming over to their place for Miri's sake, but you didn't feel like staying the night. If this fight continued, you were considering slowly coming less. It was painful to be around Rei at the moment. "It's going to be day four of you two being like this. Don't you think you want to talk it out?" Kazuki could feel the tension whenever you both were present. Rei only grunts in response, applying just a bit more pressure on his controller buttons. "I just don't want you regretting anything." Rei ignores Kazuki, trying to focus on the race that he's been trying to win for the last five rounds. ----- As usual, Rei is still up, immersed in his video games. His ears pick up a door being opened followed by heavy footsteps down the hallway and onto a few steps of the staircase. "Hey, Rei. Have you heard from __(y/n), yet?" "No." Rei pauses his game to raise a brow at his friend. "Why?" "I texted in our group chat asking if she got home, but she hasn't answered. I even called her, but her phone is dead." Rei checks his phone for any messages or calls from you. None. "It's been over two hours now. I'm getting worr-" "I'll be back!" Rei quickly abandons his game, running towards the door while grabbing his jacket. His heart starts pounding at all the negative thoughts pouring into his mind. Even if you both were arguing, you typically told someone that you arrived home safely. And your place wasn't far from his so you should have already been home. Rei is zipping through town, searching for a woman with __(e/c) eyes and __(h/c) hair. Not normally his style, but he then resorts to yelling your name. He tries your number again and immediately is transferred to your voicemail. He had hoped to hear your voice, even if you probably wouldn't sound too happy to see him calling. Finally, he spots you exiting a tavern, adjusting the bag on your shoulder. Suddenly, he sees a tall male in black standing in front of you, blocking his view. The man looks horrifyingly familiar. He's reminded of Ogino, a terrifying killer from the organization. And he's right in front of you. Rei wastes no seconds, dashing towards the broad man and looping an arm over his neck. "Run, __(y/n)!" "R-rei!?" You're surprised by his abrupt appearance. You didn't see or hear him at all! You see your boyfriend choke holding the man in front of you and you quickly pull at Rei's arm to loosen the grip. "Stop! Stop! What are you doing?" "He's going to kill you! Run! I'll catch up!" "Wh-what? No! He was just asking directions! Let him go!" You knew of Rei's occupation so you understood his paranoia, but you also knew that this older male was innocent. Rei glances at his victim and his eyes widen at an unfamiliar person. He may be tall like Ogino, but his facial features did not match. At all. You apologize immediately to the older gentleman, forcing Rei to bow with you. It was hard trying to explain Rei's behavior, but you two got lucky that the stranger didn't press charges nor did he ask any further questions. "Rei, what the hell was-" Your sentence gets swallowed by Rei's lips, his hands gently cradling your face. He doesn't breathe, only deepening the kiss further. All frightening thoughts of potentially losing you and his regrets slowly dissipate. When he sees your confused yet angry face, he still makes a move to hug you. He knows you're upset at him and he doesn't care if you yell or push him away, he just needs to feel you. Rei leans down to rest his chin on your shoulder, arms coiled tightly around you. "What is going-" Again he cuts you off. "I'm sorry." Kazuki was right. Rei felt stupid to let an argument get in the way of the time that you could have spent with each other. He wouldn't know what he'd do if his nightmare came true. "I'm sorry." He says again and your eyes continue to widen. You weren't expecting your night to turn out like this. The sincerity and the shakiness of his voice leaves you a little less angry and compelled your arms to return the embrace. "I'm sorry, too." You knew you both were wrong for the bickering and needed to open the communication lines. Your hearts yearned for one another. "You don't need to apolo-" Now it was your turn to not let him finish. "Yes, of course I do. We both said some things that weren't nice and I'm not letting you be the only one apologizing." That's what he loves about you. You were so reasonable, patient, and understanding with him. A person who didn't understand much emotions or how to approach them. "So, what was choking that poor old man about?" You both give each other a little space. "You didn't say that you were home and when we called, your phone was dead. I thought something had happened." You looked through your bag and found that your cell was out of battery. "Oh. I had no idea. I wasn't ready to go home yet so I stopped by this place to grab a drink. I'm sorry for worrying you." You felt better knowing that Rei still cared about you even if you weren't speaking to each other. You were glad he wasn't that stubborn. "It's okay. Not your fault. Just glad you're safe." The hitman fills the space between your fingers with his, lifting your hand high enough for his lips to touch. "Let me walk you home." "And spend the night with me? If you're okay with that." You didn't want to force him into something he wasn't ready. You both just apologized so you weren't sure if he was still trying to work out his feelings. You two rarely get into altercations. "Re-really?" His face looked like you just gave him the new Morio Kart game. He was just too cute. “Of course. Just because we weren't talking didn't mean I didn't miss you." "I missed you, too. The bathtub is cold without you." "Well, my bathtub isn't big enough for us to sleep in, but I still got my bed." "Perfect. I don't care as long as we're together...and talking again." "And cuddling?" You laugh lightly, leading him to the street where you lived. "That's a must."
