Silence came over the park as the Cadillac stopped and, instead of delivering only Belle to the family party, Rumpelstiltskin stepped down and escorted his wife to the group.

Emma and her parents stared at him for a long moment, before remembering their courtesies.

Privately, Rumpelstiltskin awarded the former shepherd with the least awkward smile.

"I'm sorry we're late," Belle chirped from his side, her arm threaded through his. "We had a last minute delay."

It would have taken a second to send the annoying wolf back to her grandmother, but Belle was fond of Ruby.

"It's all right." David's grin even seemed genuine. "Glad the two of you could make it this time!"

The shepherd's armed arched in suspicious camaraderie. The pinch near his elbow reminded Rumpelstiltskin to accept the gesture.

Similar intervention from Snow diverted the effusive slap on his shoulder into an offer for a hand shake.

Rumpelstiltskin even managed not to sneer as he shook back.

"Auntie Belle!" Henry's voice cut in as he ran across the park.

"Papa. You made it!"

Bae rushed closer, a football in hand and quickly passing his son.

Rumpelstiltskin felt himself relax. He had invested a whole world into their reunion. Of course he would spend a few hours if Baelfire requested his presence.

"Are you actually wearing that?" Henry interrupted his thoughts, taking him in with youthful horror. "This is a picnic!"

The adults chuckled, some more nervously than others.

Baelfire rolled his eyes and cuffed the boy's head playfully. "Just be glad he's here this time," he said. Rumpelstiltskin blinked, unaware he would have been welcomed to previous family meetings. Belle had tried to tell him so, but Baelfire hadn't brought it up until dinner last night.

While he mulled that over, Baelfire was coming into his personal space. "Glad you could make it." He moved in in for a quick hug. Him, Rumpelstiltskin gladly embraced back. Bae stepped away, and looked down at his son with an exasperated smile. "Sorry about that, Papa. Kid's had nowhere to learn subtlety. It's a miracle people still like him."

"Hey!" the boy complained.

The adults laughed a little, before Emma tugged Henry closer to her. "Don't mind your dad," she said loudly. "He once told a police officer he had an ugly face."

"Guilty." Bae shrugged, then put a hand on his son's shoulder. "Sorry, kid. You're doomed."

Rumpelstiltskin smiled at the picture of them. He had barely dared to dream that Baelfire would forgive him one day. To be allowed to see his son become a father...

Sadly, other people broke the moment.

"Henry is right, though." David was saying, eyeing him from collar to leather shoes. "You'll get that nice suit wrinkled, Gold."

Rumpelstiltskin hid a sigh. A glance to his side was no reprieve, as Belle was giving him a knowing look.

"Fine," he grumbled. "You win."

Everyone stepped back at the sudden cloud of magic that enveloped him.

Not Belle, of course. Never her. She only nodded in approval at the result.

If her cheeks flushed a little at his choice of attire, Rumpelstiltskin was smart enough to save that knowledge for later.

"Will this do?" He directed the question to his grandson.

Bae's boy gave him a thumbs up before latching onto his wrist and tugging him along.

Rumpelstiltskin allowed the manhandling in good humor. At his side, Belle was pulled along, already asking questions about Henry's plans.

Behind the trio, Neal stared at Emma. Emma managed to shake off the unexpected reaction to Gold's change of wardrobe in time to see Neal's look of horror.

"Never ever tell me what just crossed your mind," he begged.

Emma ruthlessly forced down a blush. She hadn't expected the result of a pair of jeans on the man, all right? "I have no idea what you're talking about," she grit out, glaring Neal into forgetting the whole thing.

Neal gladly complied.

Meanwhile, David put an arm around his wife's waist. "Remember how Belle used to act so mysterious when we asked why she stayed in the Dark Castle?"

Still a bit speechless, Snow nodded.

David chuckled. "Mystery solved, eh?"

Snow nodded again.

Bae lined up the shot perfectly. With a quick pull on the trigger, his arrow shot off straight through the rabbit’s eye. Silently cheering, Bae slung his crossbow across his back and ran through the fresh snow, cautious not to trip on any hidden branches.

Upon reaching his kill, he carefully removed the arrow from the rabbit, wiping the little bit of blood off on his trousers. He slipped the arrow back in his quiver and reached into a pouch on his belt for a few leather straps. He expertly tied the rabbit onto his belt by the feet next to the other one already hanging there. Bae then grabbed his crossbow and loaded it again before setting off once more.

He was walking for about fifteen minutes when he spotted blue fabric about 30 feet away. While it was a dark blue, it was still a bright enough color to spot amongst the surrounding brown and white of the trees and snow. Figuring it must have been left by some travelers, Bae walked over to it thinking that he’d find some use for the thick material. As he zigzagged through the trees, he realized the cloth had legs.

Suddenly filled with a sense of urgency, and rushed over faster, slinging his crossbow over his shoulder just before her reached the body. Dropping to his knees, he flipped it over to see it was an unconscious young woman. Craddling her body in his arms, he moved her long blonde hair from her pale face. Snow clung to her long lashed, and her lips had turned a frightening purple from the cold. Grabbing his knife from its sheath in is boot, he placed the blade right under her nose. A soft fog covered the surface beneath her nostrils, and Bae breathed a sigh of relief before sheathing it.

He gently slapped her face, “Come on, darling! Wake up!”

Shaking her body slightly, he continued slapping at her face until she began to stir.

“Oh, thank the gods!” Bae gasped, softly smiling as she blearily opened her green eyes. “Hey,” he said gently.

She opened her mouth as though she was trying to say something before her eyes slowly slid shut again.

Satisfied for the time being that she was alive, he positioned the girl in his arms in a way that he could carry her back to his cabin. Glancing around to make sure he didn’t forget anything, Bae carefully made his way home.

Swanfire Month Day 10: Cursed Personals (Hyperion Heights)

Emma and Neal of course agree to aid Henry in the fight against Drizella and Lady Tremaine, and their second born, Audrey, sneaks through the portal with them, determined to have an adventure like her older brother, and she does, taking to archery just like her grandmother. Communication with Storybrooke is easy thanks to the enchanted mirrors Rumplestiltskin had made prior to their departure, and eventually, her parents and younger brother visit for Lucy's 8th birthday.

And then everything goes south when Drizella successfully casts her curse.

In Hyperion Heights, Ophelia Prince and Nicholas Weaver are bitter, begrudging co-parents of fifteen year old Eloise, after a drunken night of passion bound them for life... or at least, eighteen years. Each counts down the day until Eloise's eighteenth birthday, when they can cut the other off for good.

Nicholas is a normally uptight, straight laced attorney, and the son of one of the best detectives in Seattle. He assumed primary custody of Eloise when she turned three (using some, perhaps, underhanded tactics to undermine Ophelia), and pushes her hard to succeed in academics and after school activities.

Ophelia Prince is the estranged daughter of two of Seattle's top educators, who works at Roni's bar was known to spend her nights out on the town instead of bonding with Eloise, but she does love her in her own right, working hard to make sure she can still be a teen, despite Nicholas' pressing for hard work. She attends every concert and game Eloise has, phone in hand and showing her off to everyone who comes into the bar.

1. How many works do you have on Ao3?  about to be 230 on Thursday! (what up, plan on hitting 250 before the end of the year.)

2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?  466,023 words!

3. What fandoms do you write for?  ....too many. whatever hits my fancy when it comes to the whumptober prompts but main focuses are Pride And Prejudice, Willow, DC, Star Wars and The Vampire Diaries.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos? screaming at the cold, say the words as such, our hearts are hungry, this is where the heart lies and going up against it all. the fact that all of these are Star Wars fics and four out of the five are from NTCM. pls.

5. Do you respond to comments?  yes! I've set aside one day a week - Wednesdays - to respond to comments (and then a fic chapter or oneshot goes up on Thursdays.)

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?  so there are actually a few that end angstily, some not on AO3 (I-F, I miss you.) but I've transferred at least one of those over here too so - Humari Adhuri Kahaani and Woh Miley The for them. and then love is not a victory march (ColdAtom I love you.).

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?  oh! most have happy endings? so? i won't list them all. i am particular to the ones where i have Palpatine explode. that's always fun.

8. Do you get hate on fics?  not on fic though i have gotten comments that have made me go "you could have just not said anything". some people nitpicking the way i chose to write characters - in both the Star Wars and Pride And Prejudice fandoms.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?  so i challenged myself to do this a few years ago and i've written a bit but not much? i prefer writing around it for the most part.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?  none here but Haule Haule my beloved nonsense.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?  YES! it was a couple of Primeval one-shots.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?  way back when i was writing on ff.net @bhavvyyy and i started a fic that we never completed lmao.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?  ....... okay look, for the most part i'm a multishipper but Swanfire and PremHeer my beloveds.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?  i will finish the TVD fic some day - but the time travel Star Wars fic i haven't posted anywhere is one i hope to finish but i haven't touched it in literal years.

16. What are your writing strengths?  i think i do well at bringing out emotions. i've made enough people yell at me for it!

17. What are your writing weaknesses? keeping to a plot. outlining. finishing a draft of my novel.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?  absolutely done it will do it again i used to write fic for a Hindi serial and did full on dialogue in Hindi.

19. First fandom you wrote for? i think it was Charmed to be honest. it's been almost 20 years...
