SWANFIRE APPRECIATION WEEK 2023 (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

It’s time to get ready for another Swanfire Week!  (the best week of the year!) Let’s celebrate our favorite OTP together. The event will run from September 18 to September 24 but don’t worry if you can’t do it on those days. Our babies thieves will always wait for you 〆(・∀・✿)

Please use this week to celebrate Swanthief in any way you want to, whether it’s making gifs, graphics, mixes, or fanvids, writing fic or meta, creating fanart, etc…

✧ SCHEDULE:

🦢🔥 Day 1: Favorite Important location  ||  Parallels || Writing Prompt: Emma and Neal playing on the swings at a small playground that nobody goes to anymore.

🦢🔥 Day 2: Family moment  ||  Season you associate with them  || Writing Prompt: Neal and Emma spend the night on the perfect hill for stargazing.

🦢🔥 Day 3: Love Languages ||  Favorite Episode  || Writing Prompt: Neal likes stealing Emma's phone to change Emma's phone wallpaper into something stupid. Neal is doing another routine swipe of Emma's phone but doesn't have the heart to change it because this time because Emma's phone wallpaper is a cute picture of the two of them.

🦢🔥 Day 4: A personal headcanon ||  Time travel AU || Writing Prompt: Emma and Neal go to a fair/amusement park and Emma wants to go on the roller coaster and Neal agrees. Later, Neal regrets their decision and ends up clinging to Emma for dear life.

🦢🔥 Day 5: Song/quote  ||  Holiday  || Writing Prompt: Emma and Neal wearing matching Halloween costumes or ugly Christmas sweaters. Or any matching outfits.

🦢🔥 Day 6: Favorite Trope ||  Meme  || Writing Prompt: Emma captions everything Neal does with 'That's hot/cute'

🦢🔥 Day: 7: Free Day || Writing Prompt: Emma and Neal sit outside together late at night and as the temperature begins to drop they snuggle up together.

DAY 3: LOVE LANGUAGE; PHYSICAL TOUCH

I think this small sweet little family all of them have that physical touch need.

Sometimes with Love Languages not all the time it's what you lacked as a child is what your love language is or if that's how you've been shown love if you are more comfortable with physical touch than not.

Emma we know grew up in foster homes her first 3 years of life with parents who we don't know much about but I'm gonna go and say besides giving her up when she was 3, were pretty good parents. She was probably cuddled a lot as a child but as she got older her foster parents maybe weren't so nice. Emma is really only seen initialing physical touch with people she trusts/relies on and sometimes it takes some time.

For example, Emma does not hold Henry when he is born but you can see her holding on to the bars of the bed, in my mind, she doesn't want to hold him because she knows she would not want to let him go if she did and she was trying to do the best thing for him. Because for her that little bit of touch forged a trust. Now granted we didn't get to see all of Neal and Emma we saw a few scenes of them pre Manhattan/storybrooke but she is still the one who initiates the physical contact.

Neal if I remember correctly Rumple was very affectionate physically and it wasn't until Rumple was the dark one did Neal shied away from his touch. But with the Darliengs (Wendy) he hugged her and had that physical touch. I think on some level he knew touch meant he was loved or that he loved someone.

Herny was raised by Regina. (Don't want to get too much into Regina but it seemed that for her touch is power and was negative in the parent-child relationship which could be why she also may not prefer physical touch) We see that she holds him close as a baby and maybe she was very cuddly with him as a baby. But by the time we meet HEnry, he's 11 and he shies away from her touch but was that when he got the book or did it happen before that we don't know. But when Emma and HEnry are in Archie's office, he hugs Emma saying "I knew you were going to help me." Emma seems startled by it but lays her arms gently around him. After that, it seems he and she both intialte contact. Actually besides Neal and HEnry Emam is usually the one who initiates contact with someone. Less than a day or a week after Neal and Henry meet. Henry is already initiating contact with Neal with hugs and with Neal keeping his hand on Henry's shoulder ran dnot Henry not shying away.

I truly belive the Physcial Touch for our Modern fairy tale family is their main love language. Probably because on some level they have all been starved of it for multiple years.

Day 2: Stargazing Hill: I'm going back to the start

Neal and Emma had been offically back together for 3 months. They would go on dates together and sometimes he would do what Henry dubbed as family dates. The three of them would do things together. But tonight was what Neal would call his and Emma's anniversary. As Neal had taken walks around town he saw this hill that was high and you could see the sky perfectly from it. Also it was aways from small town prying eyes. Neal hadn't told Emma yet what they were doing but they did have plans for tonight.

Neal got a picnic together with some actual food but he had also went to the convienct store to get snacks that they also would have gotten in the past. Neal came up to the apartment and knocked on the door. Emma opened the door and she was wearing some form fitting jeans with some ankle high boot. On her top she was wearing blue sweater that brought out her eyes.

Neal couldn't help but have his eyes roam over Emma up and down. When hie eyes got back to her eyes. She was smirking. "Hey.. You look breathtaking."

Emma blushed a little bit with some red coming on her cheeks and said. "Thanks, you don't look so bad yourself." Neal was wearing a pair of jeans and had a t-shirt under the infamous red jacket. Emma notice the red jacket and was surprised she didn't even know he still had that.

"So..." Emma started, where are we going, Cassidy?" Neal smiled and held his arm out and said "It's a surprise, I though it might be nice to have a picnic and I found this hill that is out of vie wof everyone."

Neal and Emma ended up on the ill and as he sat would the blanket and getting the picnic ready Emma looked at the horizon. "you can see the whole town from here." Neal nodded yes, and it's easier to see the stars.

Emma looked at Neal when he mentioned seeing the starts without any interference. She smiled. "YOu remembered." Emma had told Neal years ago that in one of the better foster homes it was more in the country and she could look up at the stars and she could forget all the problems she felt she always dealt with."

Neal and Emma just sat and ate the actual food along with the snacks from the convenient store. Afte they at they laid back and looked up at the stars and Emma had her head on Neal's chest looking up as Neal talked about the different constellations. Emma now unknowing he wasn't messing withher but in the world they were originally from those were the constellation names.

Emma looked up and kissed Neal on the lips and said "this is th emost relaxing night I've had in the past two years."

Day 1: Favorite Important Location

These are not my pictures. They belong to whoever edited/created them.

Unfortunately we don't get to see a lot of favorite places for Emma and Neal to have. We have the carnival which is great but I really love the Bug.

The reason the bug is my favorite place is where they had the meet-cute. It's where their journey began. I think it's interesting that these two people who have had these hard difficult lives go straight for the pretty yellow bug. Now this may be my headancon but why was it not some other color. Do colors matter in the scheme of things I do think it does on some level. To be Yellow is Happy. It's an Optimistic color. They are drawn to this car, they are trying to run from things or away from things and both of these dorks choose a bright yellow car.

I like to think that maybe when they see it they think it's a new beginning when they see the car and it is but not in the way they imagined.

Also, Emma keeps the car. Yes when she first gets out of jail, I'm sure she does not have money to get a new car because of (Damn August, but I digress). Emma was a bounty hunter, she lived in Boston, it looked like a niece's apartment. She could have gotten a new car one that did not have all the memories of her and Neal. But I think it still represented hope to her, a new beginning. She kept the swan necklace as well. For Emma "I don't really care anymore, not sentimental" Swan actually cares a whole lot. Anyway, that's why I feel that my favorite place is their bug car.
