The end result is a sweet that bears a striking resemblance to an actual paan, both in appearance and taste.
Indulging in Paan Petha is truly a sensory experience:

History of Petha:
To truly grasp the significance of Paan Petha, we must delve into the captivating history of its predecessor, the conventional Petha. According to legend, this luscious dessert was born within the opulent royal Mughal kitchens, under the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan. Inspired by the pristine beauty of the Taj Mahal, the chefs embarked on a quest to create a sweet delicacy as pure and immaculate as the iconic monument itself. Through their artistry, they artfully blended ash gourd, sugar, and water to bring forth the exquisite Petha.
As time went by, this crystallized pumpkin candy gained unwavering popularity, becoming an integral part of Agra's culinary heritage. ~ The one deceived
»»————> ◐◐◐◐◐◐◐◐◐◐◐◐◐◐◐<————««
O lovers, enchanters of your sweet maidens, must you keep in mind to never displease the queen of your hearts.
'She who adorns herself in fine silks and jewels, awaits you at night hiding from the entire town in the heart of the forest where fierce beasts lay, she must never be kept await for long and certainly must not be left alone if ever your eyes droop for a night. Who knows someone else might snatch the beauty away?

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐣𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫
With dark eyes not blue lotus
she fashions a welcome garland.
Petals she strews—
not various species of jasmine
but smiles.
Water she offers from ripe
moistened breasts
rather than ceremonial jars.
With only her own body
she makes for her
lover an
auspicious welcome.
~ Erotic Love Poems from India
A tightly knotted braid pinned by jewelled pins moves like a serpent by her waist. She carefully arranges flowers in her hair, just the way he likes. She spent months apart from him, and now is the time to bring long lost romance back into their lives -- of sweet nothings, stolen kisses, teasing words and the bliss of just being around your lover.
The morning was spent in perfuming the hair and the body. His favourite scent: the rain perfused soil. It always enchanted him when she passed by the busy market place in front of him. She usually preferred a light scent of roses, but today she has to make him heady as soon as he catches a whiff of air around him.
A necklace decked with moonstones sits on her making her look dazzling. Her wrists are adorned with glass bangles, and a shy smile teases her lips when her friends tease her on the various ways glass bangles can be broken tonight.
"Quiet. You must not speak like this. He's a gentle lover," she admonishes them with a stern look that soon melts into a beautiful blush and her friends once again start teasing her.
"You look perfect now. If you decorate yourself anymore, your dazzling form shall blind him as soon as he enters the house," says a friend, dabbing a kohl dot behind the jewelled maiden's ear to ward off the evil eye.

The letter in betel leaves 🥀
Handmaiden bears a large plate on her tender hands.
Soft silks from lands far and wide,
jewels crafted in nothing but perfection,
perfume extracted from only exotic flowers and oils,
But what pleases the bejewelled beauty?
A silver box revealing a richly stuffed Kaushal paan.
'In separation I have burned for several moons, and my heart wailed in agony. Where do I carry this ocean of love when you are the shore that binds me to you? Oh, my dearest, my lovely moon, it is you I desire. Come meet my by the riverside near the sweet-smelling jasmine bower.'

And the moon rose in our eyes, at midnight.'
-- Delicate as the moonstone, bangle laden wrists
alert the love god who stands ever ready with love arrows.
She traverses down the narrow forest path,
Her feet leave behind fresh red footprints on earth,
And jingling anklets make the serpents steer off her way.
-- The jasmine bower fresh and fragrant as ever,
Fireflies adorn the bushes like earthen lamps in a house's courtyard.
The moon unveiled shines on the resplendent maiden
And like the chakora, she fills her eyes with the moonbeams,
In each, a vision of the man prisoned in heart.
-- The forest grows still.
Doe eyes search for him in every corner of the forest.
Is he playing games today? Must I walk and search for him now?
The love god too has dozed off, his bow and arrows discarded beside.
The garland around her neck now frail,
Tiny buds fall down and mingle with the earth...

And, rasikas, here we behold a man who did not keep his promise. Sends the extravagant betel leaf and promises of giving a beautiful night, but gives in to the sweet embrace of slumber while the beauty awaits in the forest, her once radiant face now pale in fear and annoyance.
Oh, the pain of shattered dreams filled of love, sweet words, passionate touches and long nights. How can one scorn a woman this way after long nights of loneliness?
Chuckle in mirth my friends, for the man dreams of kissing her lips in his sleep. Who shall tell him about his lover's wrath at dawn break tomorrow?
*******
Breathing hard into the lotus calyx
Annoyed at his care less actions,
She wipes an angry tear from her soft cheek.
Tosses away the wretched droopy garland,
Flings the silver anklet far across the room.
Red lips that should have been kissed curse the sun.
Arms that should have been curled around his neck
Lay bare bereft of bangles on the silken sheets.
Her bosom that should have carried drops of perspiration from a sweet night of love
That should have been kissed tenderly, Adorned with a chain of bites
Now heave in anger, wanting a respite.
The love god scoffs at the man yet deep in sleep
Who makes love the scorned woman in waking.
The love goddess pitifully caresses the heart broken girl,
And winces when the moon-like beauty sends
A silver box encasing an empty betel leaf and a lone anklet

Blessed Thargelia!
🌕Happy birthday Lady Artemis & Lord Apollon☀️
Orphic hymns⬇️
Artemis:
HEAR me, Jove's daughter, celebrated queen, Bacchian and Titan, of a noble mien:
In darts rejoicing, and on all to shine, Torch-bearing Goddess, Dictynna divine.
O'er births presiding, and thyself a maid, To labour pangs imparting ready aid:
Dissolver of the zone, and wrinkled care, Fierce huntress, glorying in the silvan war:
Swift in the course, in dreadful arrows skill'd, Wand' ring by night, rejoicing in the field:
Of manly form, erect, of bounteous mind, Illustrious demon, nurse of humankind:
Immortal, earthly, bane of monsters fell,
"Tis thine, blest maid, on woody mounts to dwell:
Foe of the stag, whom woods and dogs delight, In endless youth you flourish fair and bright.
O universal queen, august, divine,
A various form, Cydonian pow'r, is thine.
Dread guardian Goddess, with benignant mind, Auspicious come, to mystic rites inclin'd;
Give earth a store of beauteous fruits to bear, Send gentle Peace, and Health with lovely hair, And to the mountains drive Disease and Care.
Apollo:
BLEST Paan, come, propitious to my pray'r, Illustrious pow'r, whom Memphian tribes revere,
Slayer of Tityus, and the God of health, Lycorian Phœbus, fruitful source of wealth:
Spermatic, golden-lyr'd, the field from thee
Receives its constant rich fertility.
Titanic, Grunian, Smynthian, thee I sing,
Python-destroying, hallow d, Delphian king:
Rural, light-bearer, and the Muses' head, Noble and lovely, arm'd with arrows dread:
Far-darting, Bacchian, twofold, and divine,
Pow'r far diffus'd, and course oblique is thine.
O Delian king, whose light-producing eye Views all within, and all beneath the sky;
Whose locks are gold, whose oracles are sure, Who omens good reveal'st, and precepts pure;
Hear me entreating for the human kind, Hear, and be present with benignant mind;
For thou survey st this boundless ether all, And ev'ry part of this terrestrial ball Abundant, blessed; and thy piercing sight Extends beneath the gloomy, silent night;
Beyond the darkness, starry-ey'd, profound,
The stable roots, deep-fix'd by thee, are found.
The world's wide bounds, all-flourishing, are thine,
Thyself of all the source and end divine.
"Tis thine all Nature's music to inspire With various-sounding, harmonizing lyre:
Now the last string thou tun'st to sweet accord, Divinely warbling, now the highest chord;
Th' immortal golden lyre, now touch'd by thee,
Responsive yields a Dorian melody. All Nature's tribes to thee their diff'rence owe, And changing seasons from thy music flow:
Hence, mix'd by thee in equal parts, advance Summer and Winter in alternate dance;
This claims the highest, that the lowest string, The Dorian measure tunes the lovely spring:
Hence by mankind Pan royal, two-horn'd nam'd, Shrill winds emitting thro' the syrinx fam'd;
Since to thy care the figur'd seal's consign'd,
Which stamps the world with forms of every kind.
Hear me, blest pow'r, and in these rites rejoice, And save thy mystics with a suppliant voice.

sharing paan with a beloved.
their words have been dipped in a decoction of sweet jaggery and wrapped in the warm leaves of betel to be hand fed to one’s lover. verses of poetry drips from their mouths in your praises.
when they chew on the fragrant cardamom seeds laced with the reminder of the taste of your skin, your heart is also pestled with a longing.
soon the crimson stain appears on their tongue, painting a picture of the passion that they harbour for your caresses.
soon the lamps will burn out and their wicks will darken like the blanket of the night where the two lovers will unite.

Raghuvan, teri raah nihare
CHAPTER 1
CHAPTER 2 by @dumdaradumdaradum
Chapter 3
It was five in the evening on Monday. Ram has just summed up his work, tying files and signing others. He strolled out in the hall, when he saw Babai gone. “Where is Babai?” he asked the jangu in the kitchen. “He’s gone to meet someone, he might come back in two or three hours later” he said, keeping the vegetable basket down. As soon as Ram turned around, he heard the jangu curse. “What happened?” Ram asked the hurrying jangu. “He told me to pick up his trousers from the tailor,” the jangu said, getting on his bike. “Where is the tailor?” Ram asked, standing near the door of the house. “Near Sita Mahal” the jangu replied, trying to kick start his bike. “Sita Mahal” Ram muttered and got on the bike too, with a very distressed jangu driving.
As they passed some shops, he wondered if he should take something for Sita- in case he gets to meet her. “What does she like?” Ram asked, leaning forward, the wind fazing his voice. “Paan” the jangu sounded sure. “How do you know?” Ram asked. “It’s Banaras' famous news. Whoever gets to make a paan that Sita loves, they get to spend some really lovely time with her. No one has really made it till now- but all the nearby paan makers are always trying. It's a special ingredient no one knows about, no matter what they try. Coconut, cherry, rose, saunf, it's futile. They get rejected” Ram peered at one of the shops. He stopped by to buy a paan for her, and one for himself.
As soon as they entered that locality, the air changed. There was a sweet camphor smell, but the people held something bitter in their heart. There were candles, lights, paan shops, an environment of entertainment and joy. Yet people were hushed, sneaking their eyes away. Jangu stopped his bike outside a shop with “Dev Tailors” wide on its door. But Ram’s eyes couldn’t leave the bridge that crossed Ganga to reach Sita. Before Jangu could say something, Ram was already running towards the glass dome building.
The building looked even prettier upon close inspection. The glass dome held a jhoomar in center, and the room was clearly meant for dancing for the visitors. There were preparations being done for the visitors to start coming once the sun goes down. Before Ram could take another step in the hall, a hand pressed against his chest. “Come at eight, we are not open yet” she smelled like roses, her hands were cladded with mehendi. “I’m here to meet Sita” he said, and at least four women turned to look at him. The woman furrowed her eyebrows. “Do you know didi? We are seeing you for the first time” she asked in confusion. “No uh, I just want to meet her once, that is it” he said, looking behind her in the hall. “Wait wait” she said, pushing him back. “What’s your name?” she asked. He sighed. “Ram” he said, and three other women laughed. “At least seven rams come a day my dear” she said, smiling.
Before Ram could say something, a voice broke the chatter in the hall. “Kaun hai?” Who's there? “Some Ram” the woman said and moved out of the way so that Sita could see the visitor.
“You're new,” Sita muttered, stepping closer. “I, I just want to meet you” Ram muttered, his gaze not stopping for once.
They were right, she did look like an angel. Her hair was wet, tied in a knot at the back. She wore a light yellow white saree, a pooja thali in her hand. Simple glass bangles and bindi were her only jewelry. “Come with me” she said and Ram skipped his way to her.
They walked through the glass hall, a hallway, and entered an open place. The visitor’s hall had the girl’s residence behind it. The center was an aangan, where they practiced. On the right was a jhoola and a harmonium there. On the left was a small statue of lord shiva. Behind the both were stairs for the rooms upstairs. In the front of the hallway, across the aangan were a flight of stairs, leading to Ganga. Ram sat near the stairs as sita prayed to her god. As soon as she was done, she handed a piece of sweet to Ram, smiling. She sat down on the aangan floor itself, the golden light from the sun falling on her. Her eyes glowed golden and her bones shined.
“So” she started, looking at Ram. “Ram?” she asked, smiling. “Alluri Ramaraju” he said, giving the paan to her. She smiled, taking the paan from him. “The house across ganga?” she asked. Ram nodded, eating his paan. “You didn’t come to just meet, right?” she looked up at him, a sudden flare of sadness in her eyes. Ram smiled, licking his fingers. “I came to know why no one in the whole Banaras has been able to give you your favorite paan.” Sita looked down smiling, and tore her paan in half. She stood up and faced Ram.
Sita licked one of the pieces, maintaining eye contact with Ram.
He gulped.
She probed the piece on his lips.
He parted his lips and took the paan in his mouth.
She smiled when his eyes widened.
The flavor of paan changed, it was sweeter.
“Because none of them came to meet me, like you Ramaraju. They come to devour the betel leaves, not to offer it. My job doesn’t include sending men back home, darling” she said, sitting beside him. “What if I was here to devour betel leaves?” he asked, leaning back to create space between them. Sita smiled. “It’s a monday evening, I would charge extra” she said, getting up.
“Why are you here?” sita faced ram, her hands crossed on her chest. “I hear you from my room all the time. Your name is Sita.” Ram smirked, still leaning back on his hand. “And you want to sleep with me too?” Sita asked, her expression unwavering. Ram smiled and got up, looking at his watch. “And you liked my paan” he stood in front of her, smirking. Sita blushed. Blushed.
“Are men trying new tactics to get discounts?” she asked, walking towards him as he backed to the edge of the stairs. “I am not here why you think I am,” he said, sitting down on the stairs again when his shin hit the brick step. “Then what do you want” she leaned forward, her hands balancing herself on his broad shoulders. The tied knot of her wet hair loosened and her hair spread forward, creating a dark curtain. The sun seeped through her hair and onto her face, and she looked ethereal.
Ram forgot what he was saying. He gaped at the beauty, trying to form words. “What’s your favorite color?” Ram asked and mentally slapped himself. Who even asks that anymore?? Sita was taken aback by his question. “Blue” she muttered, straightening up. Ram smiled and got up again.
He started to leave. “Where are you going?” Sita asked from the center of aangan. Ram stood at the beginning of the hallway and looked back.  “Home?” he said. “But- but no men here leaves without sl-”
“I am more satisfied with our conversation than what you would give those men. I am more satisfied than those men.” Ram said and looked up at Sita, her expression unreadable. This was not part of her routine. Often, men took empathy by talking to her- and then indulge in the same sin as a reward. What this man did, she really wanted to know him better. More. Often.
Sita walked towards him. The chattering in the hall indicated early arrivals of visitors. “What if I make you famous in banaras?” she asked and Ram chuckled. “Babai would kill me” he said and Sita smiled at that.
“How can I repay you?” Sita asked, and Ram held a soft, sad smile. “Let me meet you in the daytime, not in the darks of night. I want to see you in the sunlight under the light blue sky, Sita. The nights here are full of your glamor anyways- i want more. I want-” before ram could continue, sita’s expression fauletered. “You do understand what comes with it right?” she asked in a hush tone- as if that was the wrong thing to do there. “I am getting married soon, maybe” Ram said and Sita furrowed her eyebrows. “That’s even worse!” she said, furious. “It’s like a last wish. Will you fulfill it?” Ram asked hopefully. Sita only sighed.
Sita opened the curtains of the hallway to let Ram cross the hall to exit the building. Everyone stared at the brooding mustached man who was with sita on the evening of a workday. Before Ram could step out of the building, a voice called for him that silenced the hall.
“Ram!” He turned around to face sita.
“Aapke paan ka swaad alag tha, hamein accha laga” Your paan tasted different, I liked it, She said and earned some gasps.
They both smiled, turned around and left.
By midnight, the whole banaras knew that a ram had won the sita.

As much as this scene can be seen as containing a lot of religious undertones, I gotta say that this plot development was pretty on point, in the sense that this was not something that one wouldn't see incoming.
Like how we see Ace still striving to make people happy, yet he realised that as much as his wish for people to become happy... and he found out later, even THAT had a cost. No matter how he'd try to spin it, someone would still end up suffering in order for some other's happiness to happen. Yet, can one stop trying to strive for that happiness?
And we see from Keiwa's pov when he found out that his family (as well as other innocent people as well as players) ended up being sacrificed - as a collateral damage - to become fuel for Mitsume to use to change/remake the world how many times a new Desaity won and 'earned' their wish. How can Keiwa NOT hate the fact that such sacrifices had to be made? Even if he knows that Mitsume was innocent and coerced to do what she did, does that change the fact that her powers was what led to DGP causing all these calamities? Since at first the DGP prize for the victor had only just be a coin and the glory that came with it, but since Mitsume's power was awakened it led to the DGP having the prize of one's wish as the ultimate goal.
Yet there's also that same conflict where Keiwa also realize that in order to save/recover the lives that had been lost, he's also had to use that same method that he hated, in order to make it happen. How can he NOT hate himself for that very same desire/action and not fall into despair and lose any faith that he could really escape from that vicious cycle and just gave up on everything? And still, Keiwa wished that he could still have a bit of happiness (aka getting his family back) but can he really be happy, knowing that the happiness he received was at the cost of someone else's suffering? So he just shut himself off from that thought.
Regardless, Ace still wished to create an ideal world where everyone is happy, and it's not just 'certain' people who can be allowed to be happy... but it's a world that Keiwa could be happy, a world where Buffa can be happy, a world where Neon can be happy, even Nadge, Kekera, Beroba, Da-paan, Gyago, Neon's mom, countless other unknown people... heck even Mary (probably) can be happy... regardless of whenever misdeed that they have done. Because being UNhappy was what caused other people to hurt another. But in order to do that, one really does need to not HATE the person (regardless if their actions are hateful) in order to be able to give that [someone] happiness.
So that was the core of everything... and later we can see this used by Keiwa to allow him to still be able to forgive Daichi (as well as forgive himself and resolve his issues with Miichi).
And that was a pretty sweet kind of reasoning coming from Ace. 💖💖💖

Omg I think I dreamt that I sent u my initial BPAL impressions and then didn’t! 😭 I got imps of Qandisa and Snooty Rose and when I got them I kicked myself for playing it safe and not getting a few more in one fell swoop! The longevity is soooo satisfying and I think they both smell layered + rich. I’ll almost def get a full bottle of Qandisa at some point, it’s woody but sweet and exactly as robust as I like my perfumes to be most of the time. Snooty Rose smelled almost like this betel leaf snack called paan when in the bottle but I rlly appreciate how the rose notes are more prominent on my skin! Will mourn when it runs out, but I think I’ll try more of their rose scents before deciding whether or not to get more Snooty Rose 👀🌹
ohohohoooo this is my absolute favourite discussion topic yes yes!!!! dw i received the dream message but it's nice of you to confirm <3 i'm not familiar with those scents but Qandisa sounds super interesting... and it is nearly october (the month in which i am allowed to buy perfume)... HMM... also the imps last a mad long time tbh i can see you using them for a while <3

Here are some Hindi movies for you @hrtiu!
I’m not going to tag this post because I don’t want people to come after me for my bad genre placement/categorization. 😅
Romantic comedy: Qarib Qarib Singlle, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Love Per Square Foot, Action Replayy, Luka Chuppi (I actually don’t remember if I saw this or not lol),  Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (There are probably a ton of romantic comedies you’d like but I tend not to watch them so much so explore on your own! :) )
Dark comedy: Peepli Live, Blackmail (2018), Ishqiya
Crime/mystery/thriller: Raat Akeli Hai, Kahaani, Mom, Badla, Te3n
Crime/mystery/action: Dhrishyam (2015), Singham, Andhadhun
Road films: Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Karwaan, Highway (this film is emotionally heavier than the other two)
Sports-related drama: Paan Singh Tomar, Dangal, Lagaan
Drama (generally more lighthearted): Three Idiots (this movie is a classic), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (fun and sweet film), Hindi Medium, English Vinglish, Badhaai Ho, Badhaai Do (deals with serious topics in a generally more lighthearted way, climax is more serious and emotional), Pad Man, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Rocket Singh
Drama (generally more serious): The Lunchbox, Sonchiriya, Masaan, Ship of Theseus, Manto, Udta Punjab (deals with drug addiction—good movie but I also don’t want to watch it ever again :( )
Others:
Rang De Basanti
Haider (based on Hamlet but set in Kashmir, deals with political conflicts)
Gangs of Wasseypur (two-part film looking at the multigenerational rivalry between two crime families, I love the soundtrack)
Stree (comedy “”horror”” but it’s honestly not scary—I don’t like horror either! —and I really enjoyed it)
Manmarziyan (somewhere between romantic comedy and a more emotionally serious drama—wasn’t sure whether to recommend this or not because people seem kind of polarized on it as far as Anurag Kashyap films go)
Padmavat (historical drama with some action, villain was one-dimensional though)
I guess Jodha Akbaar is worth checking out too for historical romance? I actually didn’t finish watching it though.... 😅
