My first Tulia let Watcher X go, just because she was my first DS!Agent and most of her choices were driven by being sort of comically evil, but this time around, I am being a little more careful about her choices in terms of her actual motivations (which, to be fair, I didn't really know when I played her the first time around, since all I had in my head for her was tol murder machine hurr durr and then she started simping at Zhorrid)
but anyway
This time she shanked Watcher X. While it was tempting to get Dirt on some folks who had annoyed her, Tulia's loyalty (at the moment, anyway), is primarily to Intelligence and she has a lot of faith in Intelligence as an Agency. 100%, her true loyalty is to herself and to staying alive at all costs, but she did the math on it and decided that the risk that he's a fucking liar far outweighed any possibility of him having good information (especially if his information might lead her to have an Existential Crisis about why she's doing what she's doing).
Also,
He talked to her like he was better than her when, in her mind, he's not, so fuck him.

I always forget just how weird Agent!Nar Shaddaa is. There's some really clever bits with Watcher X (like the suggestion that he's there because he was piecing together the existence of the Star Cabal) but there are also bits that leave me baffled as to why Imperial Intelligence is trusting this "unstable" ex-Watcher so much.
Sure, it's the Agent's choice whether they want to be drugged to attempt to get Cyclone or not, but Watcher X apparently has one hell of a chemistry set at his disposal to be able to come up with the drug in the first place.
And then there's the whole droid disguise (which is not optional). Not only has Watcher X cooked up some pretty impressive implants (they hide your life signs!) but he has the knowledge and wherewithal to implant them along the Agent's spine.
Dear Imperial Intelligence: he could be sticking anything in your agent! How is this the plan!? Why does it not come back to bite Intelligence and/or the Agent horribly? It really should, you know.
It gives the impression of an Imperial Intelligence that considers its agents to be awfully expendable.
Then again, did anyone in Intelligence sign off on Watcher X's plan? Are they even aware of it? Shit, he bribed whoever's supposed to be keeping an eye on him, didn't he. He shared secrets in exchange for a lab, medical supplies, and technology. (Rather like he offers the Agent, later.) No wonder he's doing things he shouldn't be able to do. And no wonder he was able to set up his own escape.
Clever bastard. He really should get to escape Nar Shaddaa no matter what the Agent chooses.

My headcanon for my SWTOR imperial agent is that the hallucinations never really went away after he broke free from the mind control — he suffered some irreversible neurological damage in the process, which he just never told anyone about. The hallucinations eventually settled as something predictable tho (this is a scifi video game headcanon it doesn’t have to be realistic) where he sees/hears Jadus when someone is trying to influence him via the force, Watcher X when shit hits the fan during a mission and he needs to focus on being coldly analytical and pushing his emotions aside, and he sees Hunter when someone is lying to him or trying to manipulate him. It’s basically how his subconscious warns him when something feels wrong.
So one day after he’s joined the alliance he walks into his quarters and Hunter is just sitting there like « hey babe, missed me? » but Cypher just figures it’s an hallucination again, business as usual, so he ignores him and gets himself a drink and tries to think about why his paranoia is making him think he’s being manipulated this time
And Hunter is like « lol okay silent treatment, rude »
Until Theron walks in and is like WHOMST. THE FUCK. IS THAT????
And that is how Cypher Nine finds out that Hunter is back from the dead

This is me ranting ab the spy storyline
!major swtor agent storyline spoilers under the cut!
(Also, a lot of me crying for my spy baby.)
So i was playing as my gurly (shes my pfp btw lmao). And in her storyline she got brainwashed.
Basically when someone says a code word she has to obey (she literally cant physically go against the order or anything).
And the code word used for her is called "onomatophobia".
For those who don't know, "Onomatophobia means an abnormal dread of certain words or names because of their supposed significance".
Which made me die a little inside, bc shes a spy her whole life, and now the word used to control her literally means fear of that said word.
But yk, she gets through (thank you very much, watcher X).
She cant reverse it, so she made a new brainwashing serum, so watcher X made a new code word which noone would know. (shes delusional and sees him even though hes dead for me (literally)).
And that word is Iconoclasm.
"Iconoclasm can be defined as the intentional desecration or destruction of works of art, especially those containing human figurations, on religious principles or beliefs".
SHE MADE THE NEW CODE WORD A WORD THAT IS A REPRESENTATION OF SOMEONE GOING AGAINST THEIR WHOLE BELIEF.
Right now im busy bawling in a corner, crying sobbing vomiting.
Ik its kinda hard to understand why i feel that way, bc u need to play through that to see the whole symbolism of that new word.
Bc she went as a double spy and those bitches somehow knew that code word. So now she was forced to be silent to EVERYONE bc they used the code for her not to tell.
Just imagine when you can finally visit your nation, your friends who u consider family, and every time i used option for telling them the truth THAT FUCKING CODE WORD MADE HER SAY THAT SHES FINE.
EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.
I am NOT okay.
I will absolutely make fanart for both of those words, and they way my gurly changed through them.
Also, i am not done with chapter 3 yet, so please dont spoiler me for that part. I absolutely want to tear my heart out with the emotions im going through while playing that storytelling masterpiece. /srs

okay I’m finally free of class which means I CAN WILL SMITH AGGRESSIVELY AT THIS ACTUALLY PERFECT CREATION @captainderyn made!!!!! I’ve had a night to vibrate about it and I’m still at a complete loss for words. ;_; They are everything to me, your honor, and they are. immensely in love.
Just Tyr & Shara stealing a date night out in Kaas City to put aside Imperial Intelligence for at least a few hours and just. be two young fools in love. ;_; They end up half-soaked anyway on their way home because Tyr won’t stop dancing with her to half-recalled fading cantina music.
And also completely shameless plug for Deryn’s commissions - a completely lovely experience from start to finish and I’m just kadnfladsfnlsdf. Like I said, completely speechless with the results. Actual magic.

my interpretation for the 'agent break free from mind control with Watcher X's help' was different from canon version because Watcher X did not show up as a hallucination to Ania. More specifically that Ania left a cryptic message to Marr that played into them looking for a way to save, and free, Ania through a lot of struggles getting to her.
also lowkey wished I had gone with iconclasm as a chosen phrase for Jadus to use on Ania under Castellan Restraints (due to a caption on one of my swtor sims edit argh. i wonder if it too late to change that?).

"prone to seeing connections and conspiracies where none existed"
How much you willing to bet Watcher X found out or otherwise became suspicious about the existence of the Star Cabal and they arranged for him to be put away?
