Ok so in MOTUC it's revealed that Gar Firian is a hidden kingdom of where the surviving Gar had sequestered themselves after the destruction of Anwat Gar eons earlier. Their current ruler is King Malkor. They have an unique combination of sorcery and science. (Battle Armor Sy-Klone bio).

This is literally the first I'm hearing of this.

Spoilers for new revelation comic
I remember thinking a while ago that one of the heroes we haven’t seen show up is Sy-klone, even in the teaser clip from SDCC. I think it’s weird they’re going this backstory route with him, since they keep saying rev is meant to be a spiritual successor to the filmation show. I don’t think I really mind that they’re picking Sy-Klone for this, I’m just surprised.
AT THE VERY LEAST it’s nothing like Sy-klone in 200x. His redesign there was pretty good but… the questionable cultural inspiration for his character (read: racism) was pretty unbearable.
I thought it was funny that the one hero and villain that we haven’t really seen in rev yet (Sy-klone and Webstor) are making an appearance. It feels as if it could be strategic, but I wouldn’t blame the writers if they just thought oh hey ok cool we haven’t seen these guys yet. And just included them bc why not?
(Unless I’m missing or forgetting something. Which is always a possibility)

I really have a feeling that this episode’s purpose was either to give more screen time to Two Badd (to help sell their toys) or to set up that Hordak does indeed exist in this continuity. There wasn’t much plot or character interaction in this episode compared to others, outside of the brief moments with Sy-Klone’s family issue. However, since that issue doesn’t really tie into the actual plot of the episode at all, the episode's focus is all over the place. The characters move from location to location, and the actual adventure doesn’t really enrich the characters much. I was kinda expecting, since Stinkor also got to get development in the previous episode, that Two Badd would also learn the lesson about togetherness and at least learn to reconcile their two halves. It would certainly make them a more dangerous threat to the heroes, since the moments the two halves worked together, they were quite competent.
I still wouldn’t call this a low-quality episode, though. The callbacks in this episode were on point. Stinkor got to show up again, and he’s very consistent with his thinking that being an Evil Warrior is the best thing ever, and Dragon Mom from ‘Dragon’s Brood’ also showed up and kept being awesome. I also enjoyed the cameos to locations and peoples we’ve seen previously with the Caligars and Kulatak. There was a lot of focus on the continuity and the world of the series.

Ok Magic-User ramble for Prima Materia.
Magic is the lifeblood of Eternia, and every Eternian uses it in their day to day lives even if they don't actually wield any magic powers. Magic Use is defined in Eternia as someone who is capable of channeling the planet's passive magic into a concentrated form.
There are specifically three classes of magic user:
sorcerer/sorceress:
Funnels their magic through their body and/or a physical object (ie staff or wand). Sorcery is what a majority of magic users fit under. Notable users are: Skeletor (+havoc staff +self); *Teela Na (+staff); Sy-Klone (+rings on armor); Stratos (+gloves); and *Spinal Tap (+blood/self).
Artificial sorcery exists for magic-technicians, which includes Tri-Klops and Man-At-Arms, although their status of if they are legitimate magic users is seen as a controversial subject in Eternia.
wordsmith/wordwitch:
Funnels their magic through their mind and speaks it into fruition. Spells can be said in any language, but they are commonly written in Preternian. They are a smaller but still notable portion of users, and tend to be familial groups. Notable users are: House of Powers (Faceless One, Evil Lyn); Teela Clan (Teela Na*, Tee-La [Teela]); and Orko (w/Trollans being primarily wordsmiths).
alchemist:
Funnels their magic through the planet via potion creation. On the surface this form of magic-use is very rare, almost always used for poison, and for some time was considered "lost" due to the God of Alchemy, Starseed, being cut off from Eternia by the 'Seal of Grayskull' in year 2500. However in Coreternia this accounts for almost all magic users in the region. Notable users are: Spinal Tap (the healer); and Kobra Khan (the poisoneer).
**Both servants to the married gods (Sorceress of Zoar, Panacean of Starseed) tend to specialize in one class, but have some skills in a second. The Sorceress is from a clan of wordwitches, but ended up being muuuuch better at sorcery and thus she became THE Sorceress, but has wordwitchery skills under her feathery belt. Spinal Tap is an alchemist, but his curse-lifting abilities, and his power being concentrated in his blood categorize under both alchemy and sorcery.

Reguit genetiese familie paters; bepalings Suid-Afrika
166 P. ZATTI, Towards a right for bioethics, cit., 65.

I just discovered the vintage box back for the Horde Monstroid and I love it.
Its wind-up mechanism being treated as a real thing in-universe Hordak has to do is... chef’s kiss
Tumblr media
It makes me want 80s Entrapdak to be a thing.
Monstroid stops spinning
SY-KLONE: AAAH-- huh.
ROBOTO: This is awkward.
ENTRAPTA: HONEY! You need to wind it back up!
HORDAK: Ugh! *snort* FINE, Entrapta, but let’s try a gas engine next time.

I was mostly looking for asks involving the gar. Examples like their planet Garius and how they're apparently scholars and craftsmen? Anything lore related really tbh
So, as far as I'm aware, there is not much canon information on planet Garius. We know it's name, and we know that the whole planet was vaporized when the Rosen Space Bridge deiced to rip right through it.
"Planet Garius" is not the Garius Asteroid Belt
Tumblr media
The opening of the Rosen Bridge also threw the ship carrying the last surviving Gar back in time where they crashed on planet Eternia during its Preternia Era. The ship crashed in the Gnarl Ocean and dug deep into the seabed, burying the ship, but also pushing the land up to create the island of Anwat Gar, which became the Gar's new homeland on Eternia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, 1000 year later, the Gar spaceship is still buried under the planet's crust during the reign (heavily debated) "Reign of King Skeletor".

The Sorceress’s job comes with no benefits, huh? Old geezers who are long dead tell her how to live her life. She’s stuck with a duty that isolates her from everyone else, and we don’t even know why her duty has to be so isolated. Like, Skeletor already knows the power of the Ancients is in Castle Grayskull, so why on earth does she need to hide herself and her mission from her allies? None of the Masters outside of the inner circle know why Castle Grayskull is so important, they’re just defending it because Skeletor wants it and that’s reason enough to not let him have it. I get it, they’re heroic, they don’t need a reason to defend a place from the villains, but the unnecessary secrecy keeps the heroes from truly being a team, instead of the Sorceress being a separate entity from them all, except maybe Zodac.
I was already calling her out on keeping important knowledge away from Teela. Being the daughter of a sorceress is kind of a big deal, especially since we’ve seen that Teela has the potential to develop those powers. And now we find out that she’s also keeping Man at Arms in the dark over the fact that they used to be in a relationship and that Teela is actually his biological daughter as much as she is the Sorceress’. That’s kind of a big thing, especially since Man at Arms has proven for sixteen years that he loves Teela and considers her his daughter regardless so the knowledge wouldn’t affect their relationship, at least not negatively. Who knows, maybe Teela blusters so much because she has abandonment and self-esteem issues over not knowing why her birth parents didn’t keep her. The Sorceress seems to be hurting herself and her family strictly out of a sense of duty, because of an idea that it’s noble and heroic to suffer for your duty, a fate she’d also have forced on Adam if Orko wasn’t right at Adam’s side like the good friend he is.
The Sorceress and Sy-Klone would benefit from a chat, is what I think.

MOTU Revelation got inspired to do an Master of the Universe AU.... Why not, I already have an She-ra AU. That’s one of more positive things I can about Revelation
Most of them aren’t Good Designs but At least I have an idea for what the characters could look like this AU
'Wait, Zodac isn’t a Heroic Warrior.' I know, I just like this character and I wanted to draw him.
