This small animation was inspired by your teased Mayu art back in February! hshshs honestly just so amazed at how a silly game about disney villains can bring you so much comfort and connect you withe people you least expect... Jamil Viper x reader

Notes: This was supposed to be for Mark Grayson but Jamil's Snake Whisper works too well for this. Reader is not Yuu. The original got deleted so here's a hastily rewritten one. I'm tiredddd :(((

"Will you still be with me when the magic's all run out?"

Jamil Viper is no one special, that's what he wants the others to think as well as how he deluded himself to be. He is the vice dorm of Scarabia. He is Kalim Al Asim's servant. He is a Viper, bound by servitude to the Al Asim's.

He is in Night Raven College to look after his master. He is to not outshine him or be noticed. He thought he had come in terms with that.

Until you came along.

A bumbling idiot who wears their heart in their sleeve. You're brutally honest to a fault, saying what you want to say and doing what you want to do. You're as free as a bird, unlike him who is shackled by the duty he wants nothing to do with. You two were so unlike each other that you practically live in separate worlds. And it was supposed to be just like that until you poked your business to him.

He thought you had tact, unlike his master, but you kept lingering in the Scarabia kitchen, not-so-subtly looking at him like you want to say something. He raises a brow on this, eager to get this over with as he have a banquet feast to prepare. You told him that he should stop working himself to the bone, that he's already doing so hard with balancing being a vice dorm leader, a student, and taking care of Kalim's whims. Jamil was... surprised by that. Usually people had ulterior motives when it comes with approaching him, either to want to suck up to Kalim or try to take advantage of himself. He was apprehensive at first but now his suspicions got high, why do you care?

He kept an eye on you after that. You were a good student, being able to keep up with older students when it comes with ranking after the results roll out. He thinks you could do better though, if you stop hanging around those first years who drag you to nothing but trouble. That's none of his business though. Still, you have so much potential, why not focus on improving yourself?

The sound of your laughter across the hall snapped him out of his thoughts as his eyes followed the direction you ran to. He thinks he gets it now. You were enjoying yourself. He's jealous. You're just like Kalim.

Was it out of pity that you approached him that day? Understanding? He doesn't know. For someone who looks like an open book, you're unreadable when you want to. Jamil decided to stop thinking about it too much, maybe it was a one off instance after all. Besides, who would pay attention to a mediocre student like him?

...You personally thanked him for the food after Kalim invited you to a banquet. Why are you talking to him? Isn't Kalim looking for you to dance with on the stage? You held out a plate filled with dishes he made himself and told him to also enjoy the night, your gentle smile illuminated by the moonlight. Jamil was left flabbergasted at the gesture. Why are you doing this?

It's like you want to be friends with him or something.

Maybe you do, and maybe he does too. Maybe that's the reason why he's scrolling through Magicam to see if you have any posts, totally for research since you're still suspicious in his book. Wait, you don't have an account?! Sirens rang inside his head. In this day and age, you don't have a Magicam?! You're totally suspicio— Oh, you're in Cater's post.

It's in the Light Music Club. You're singing something he doesn't know the name of, but he can feel the passion you're putting in it. Are you part of the club? Maybe he should start considering it in his schedule to pick up Kalim after club hours. Jamil heard that you're saving up and eat less these days, and there's always leftovers whenever he cooks something, so—

It's a sign of friendship, even if he's too shy to admit it, as he hands you a casserole on the one time he ran into your outside the clubroom. You brightened up at the gift and smiled, that ming him and promising him that you'll finish it all.

He thinks your smile is cute.

Your exchanges continued to be like that over the last few months. Jamil was inclined to think that he's bribing you with food to talk to him, but even if he gives you nothing, you still hang around the Scarabia's kitchen and talk his ear off about the latest punishment a first year of Heartstabyul got from Riddle or how a certain Pomefiore freshman managed to evade Vil's required regimen. It kept him company, a nice change from the chaotic things he has to deal with outside.

But it didn't stopped the pressure and anger he felt inside him. Winter break came and Jamil's at his limit. Kalim's getting more and more out of control and the workload from both the school and his whims are getting harder. He can only take much without breaking. And when he saw the Ramshackle Prefect still in campus, an idea popped inside his head. One where he could get Kalim kicked out of the Prefect seat and reclaim what's rightfully his, all he needs is a little nudge from the Ramshackle Prefect and his plan will be complete. Besides, it's not like anyone really thinks that Kalim deserves being the Dorm Leader of Scarabia.

But then you just got to be there to clear his mind. You were also staying behind, working alongside Yuu to get extra pocket money. Jamil likes how hardworking you also are and advises you that you can always stop by in Scarabia if you need to rest. That made you giggle and for a moment, Jamil's anger died down. For a moment he lets himself smile and laugh with you. For a moment he's just Jamil, and not a Viper.

Then that moment passed and he just hypnotized the prefect into coming to Scarabia back with him.

Everything was going according to plan. The students' were getting agitated and unsure of Kalim due to his mood swings, thanks to his Snake Whisper, and even the Ramshackle Prefect is questioning it. What he didn't expected was for you to drop by today! He was barely able to stop Kalim from also ordering you to march into the sand. Don't worry about it, it's just one of Kalim's whims! Besides, didn't you came here to relax? Don't worry, he'll have a room for you prepared, he'll even whip something for you while you wait. You know what, you can stay for the night! For the whole break, even! Surely it gets cold and lonely back in your dorm right? It's always warm here in Scarabia, it'll be cozy!

But then Azul just got to ruin everything, don't he? He didn't expected for the Prefect to escape and bring back the Octavinelle Trio with them. Now, Jamil's scheme was revealed! That was the last straw! It's unfair! So, so, unfair! Why does he have to live his life being out shadowed by someone who doesn't even compare to him? The one time he retaliates and he's the bad guy?

It's just so unfair.

Jamil can feel his own overblot coming as he hypnotized the whole dorm and threw Kalim, The Ramshackle Prefect and the Octavinelle students out to the sands.

His breath hitched as a second of clarity hits him. You're still in Scarabia, and now you're affected by Snake Whisper, doing exactly what he wants you to. You're smiling ever so gently at him, reaching out to cup his cheeks in a manner that is far from platonic. Ah... So this is what he's been feeling all this time.

So this is love.

Perhaps it was that realization that he let Yuu beat him that easily. He can't bear to control you, to be the thing that he despises the most. You're free, unlike him. And it should stay that way, after all, you two live in different worlds.

When he came into, Kalim was crying and clinging to him, apologizing for not noticing his pain sooner, promising that he can stop holding back and that they'll be equals from now on. Jamil frowned, he doesn't want that. He doesn't want to be Kalim's equal, he wants to be—

He met your eyes.

Jamil's stands up, not breaking eye contact, declaring that he'll surpass Kalim. That he won't hold back or lose anymore.

All so that he could say that he won your heart being himself, as Jamil Viper, and not as the Viper servant of an Al Asim.

When Yuya started to hid their scars they would have another layer if it the outfits shows a scar ( most of lasting ones are on her upper body than one on Yuya’s right thigh )

it's the most bizarre funeral antonio has ever attended. all of his previous experiences have been family of some description - including the uncles that didn't share a drop of his blood but showed up at every birthday - and they were far louder. there was colour, food, smiles against tearstained cheeks, sometimes singing. this is tighter, a clenched fist of a union. nobody here looks like they know each other, but they all look expensive; some in the traditional sense, suits and watches that weigh down their wrists, and some in that dirty way that looks unintentional unless you watch. no doubt beau's other friends, the ones who bite when the cameras flash, have already spent time together somewhere gritty and underground. toni wants to ask if trace went with them, lived in the holes and dives beau haunted living, but he holds his tongue long enough to clap trace's slumped shoulder. "i know, brother."
