For a special #SyndullaSunday here are some of the many breathtaking photos by @aleestudios of my Hera Syndulla and Kanan Jarrus from @starwarscelebration. I’ll be sharing more over the next week or so. • This shoot means a lot to me. Both because of this beautiful and powerful Star Wars story I fell in love with but also because my husband joined me as Kanan and he reminds me a lot of and has the same temperament as him. Hera is the most transformative costume for me and it’s easy to play the part when I’m dressed as her. It’s almost a feeling of proud responsibility. Hera and Kanan’s emotional connection and love for each other was deep and strong and it’s something I relate to in so many ways. They built their own family from fellow lost and broken souls and gave hope to them and others they encountered. It’s also why their story is so heartbreaking. • Hera and Kanan costumes are both made by me. It’s the last #SyndullaSunday before the #StarWarsRebels series finale! 😭 It’s going to be such an emotional night. I’m so sad that’s it’s ending ... and we all know what has to happen leading up to episode 4 and all that changed in order to get to that point. Rebels is fun to watch, wonderfully tragic and immensely rich in lovable characters and great, consistent story telling. Truly one of the best narratives in the Star Wars universe. Thank you so much! I fully encourage this - more Hera’s! If you check out my Hera WIP tag, I documented some parts of the process there. Also over on Instagram, but I crossposted pretty much everything and it is mostly cats there. Cat. Just the one cat.

There’s also my Rebel Legion process thread, which is much more in-depth. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to link it (or if you can access it without being a forum member?), but I’ve had quite a few people asking about my process so.. here it is. I’ll get rid of it if I must.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to help!

In need of a chin strap (need some brown leather) and a good ol' press, the base cap to be trimmed; the lekku need to be de-cling filmed and paint job finished, but… boom.
