Announcement: September Event !

Hey ghosties and ghouls! Welcome to the new members and hello to our veteran boos! It’s Rha here to fill you in on the exciting matter of our September Writing Event! I’ve been waiting all week to make this post.

BGWN PRESENTS: DYNAMITE DADS!

Yes, that’s right! This event is a celebration of the release of dynamite and an opportunity to explore the much-loved trope of dad!bangtan. It is a network-wide collab, which means that it is open to members only. Let me run through the general gist of the event:

This is a prompt and length challenge!

What this means is that participants will choose a genre and be given a randomised combination of a related prompt and a member, and will be challenged to write a fic containing those at a length of 5k.

**This challenge will span from September to mid-november!

The goal is to have the fic completed by the end of October, but the cut-off won’t be until mid-November. Don’t stress! This deadline is not strict, and there is not a large amount of pressure with this collab.

There will be four categories/genres to choose

Participants will choose one of four categories: crack/humour, fluff, angst, or smut. Within each category there are seven prompts, which will be randomly combined with a member and allocated to a participant.

Ideally, we want a fic for each prompt and each member in each category.

This means we will need at least seven per category, so a total of 28 participants! This isn’t capped, however, and if more than seven end up choosing a category then it will be orchestrated so that each participant has a different combination of prompt and member. 

What this also means is that we ideally want to fill each category to the minimum of seven (7), before we add more participants to other categories. This will be explained further in another point!

Details and participants of this event will be finalised in the coming days, so we encourage you to fill out the form ASAP so we know how many are interested and can get started and give everyone as much time as possible!

EVENT RULES/GUIDELINES:

The fic must adhere to the prompt and member given. It is absolutely fine to add additional members or elements if you so desire, but you must include the given prompt and member and adhere to the chosen genre!

The fic must reach a minimum length of 5k words. This is part of the challenge! You can make it into a oneshot, or a series, however you would like– but we are challenging you to write 5k this month, so please ensure that there is at least that amount in the fic! Going over the wordcount is absolutely fine, and there are no penalties…

Rather, members that exceed and manage to reach 10k words will receive special shout out and promo on the network blog! This is not a requirement, but rather an extra! Hard work is rewarded and we are proud of any ghostie that puts in the work, so we want to support those that aim high as much as possible!

Allocation of genre will be first come, first serve. To elaborate, this means that in regards to the genre/category, since we are trying to fill seven for each category we won’t be adding more to each category until all of them have at least seven participants. So, when filling out the form, please let us know if you are happy with multiple choices or whether you are interested in only the one.

If you are interested in only the one genre/category, then you will have to wait until the other categories are filled to be allocated to it. Once each category has at least seven participants, it won’t really matter how many more there are!

The tags to be used for this challenge are #bgwdynamitedads and/or #btsghostie event. The two tags are to ensure that the admins will be able to find your submission, but don’t worry! If your work is mysteriously not appearing in either tags, please submit the link to your fic here.

The kinks and finer details of this event are being continuously ironed out, so this post will be updated and edited should anything change! We will also be making a post with details of some of the example prompts that each genre may contain. Once allocations have occurred, we will be making a promotional masterpost for maximum anticipation and excitement, so stay tuned for that!

[NOTICE] Looking for admins!

Hello! As you may have noticed, this blog has been a bit inactive lately due to the admins being busy over the past few months. With that being said, it would be a waste to let this network die when so many creators still have so many stories to share, so we will be opening applications for new admins!

We are currently looking for two admins. Each of their jobs will be listed as follows:

1. Queueing Admin

basically all you have to do is queue member posts + the occasional non-member post

there are specific tagging systems implemented for the blog, and admin zee will teach you the ropes on how to use these correctly!

having xkit is a huge bonus as it will make your job easier (you can download it online for free!)

2. Maintenance Admin

you’ll be in charge of blog checks (seeing if the members are active + following the net + has the net linked on their blog) which will happen every three months

in addition, you’ll also be in charge of acceptances!! while all admins are technically part of this, you’ll mostly be checking each application to see if they are qualified for acceptance (i.e. they followed all the rules before applying)

this is a really chill job, so you’re also free to help queueing admin with their work just in case they become busy!!

No experience of running a network is required, though being a Fake Text/Social Media AU creator is a must! Additionally, you’ll have to follow the same rules as regular members in order to retain your position.

General Rules before Application:

Follow the network and reblog the official post. The admins will be checking this! Likes will not be considered.

You must have posted at least two previous fake texts/snapchats before applying. Since this network is made specifically for fake text creators, having at least two works posted will serve as proof that you do create fake texts.

You do not need to be a 100% BTS blog. We don’t mind if you’re multi-fandom, but only BTS fake texts will be reblogged. Any other fake text done for another fandom will not be reblogged by the network.

Your blog needs to be active. You must post at least one fake text post within 4 months to be considered active. However, if you inform us beforehand that you will be undergoing a temporary hiatus, we will still consider you as a member.

Support each and every member of BTS. Any hateful or disrespectful language aimed at ANY member of BTS will be dealt with accordingly.

Once Accepted:

Link the network somewhere on your blog. It can be in your about page, mobile theme, etc. The admins will be checking this as well.

Use the tag #btsfaketext-net for your fake text creations. Please include this tag within the first five slots in order to ensure that we will see it. If we do not reblog your texts within a week, please send us a message!

Please be considerate of other members. This means that any acts of reported bullying or plagiarizing will lead to the immediate termination of your membership, as well as landing you on our blacklist. 

If you change your URL, please inform us!

Chat Rules:

Since btsfaketext-net is meant to be a safe environment for content creators, any form of bullying, plagiarizing, foul play, and any other activities that actively try to make other people feel disrespected can lead to the termination of your membership.

Similarly, any disrespectful comments aimed at any BTS member will also be dealt with.

Member Status

Hello! This is just an announcement that I will be looking through our current member list and removing inactive blogs (i.e. those who have not touched Tumblr in over 4 months) and those who were found to have broken any of the rules. To check your membership, look through our member page here. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to send an ask.

If you have found that you have been removed from the network, applications will be reopening the following weekend, so make sure to sign up then. All previous applications will be deleted, as most of them are most likely outdated.
