Cairo-T’Shan Williams! I was listening to Never Shut Up Again today, and it just gives me such enormous Cairo energy I can’t stand it. Plus she and Jodie already have onstage chemistry!

Kate-Carrie Hope Fletcher! Let’s be real, Kate and Veronica have similar vibes already.

Day 3 - T’Shan Williams as Alternate

T’Shan Williams is a British singer/actress who most recently appeared in The Colour Purple!

Why: Have you heard her voice? Her power, her vocals, her vibrato, her riffs, she’s just so so so incredible.

Heathers UK

So this is a really late hot take but here I go anyway. Please note I have not actually seen the show, this is based purely on the sound track. Also spoilers.

• I loved how much the actors made it there own, it was very much not a carbon copy of the original. Like Martha’s “and a horse with wings” in Kindergarten Boyfriend was beautiful.

•THE HARMONIES. Literally the altos killed it and I think the harmonies came out way better than the original.

• I didn’t really like I Say No. like don’t get me wrong it wasn’t a terrible song and Carrie Hope Fletcher sounded amazing, but it just didn’t feel like it needed to be there. We already had Veronica’s big standing up to JD moment in Dead Girl Walking Reprise.

• I think replacing Blue with You’re Welcome was smart. I thought it treated the situation as the serious issue it is and made it understandable as to why JD hated them. Like they were more than just douchey idiots, it made them an actual, scary threat. I’m glad they are thinking about replacing it permanently.

• I didn’t like Jamie Muscato as JD. Just the way he gave his lines felt cartoonish, over the top, and just overall weird. See Dead Girl Walking Reprise in particular.

• Heather Mac sounded really young. Like everyone else they definitely sounded like adults but she genuinely sounded like a teenager. Especially compared to Veronica and Heather Duke.

• Jenny O’Leary was definitely my favorite part. She was so good. Kindergarten Boyfriend and Lifeboat still remain my favorite songs.

• Neve Shut Up Agian was good. I think Heather Duke really needed her own solo and it was something that was missing from the original. It just seemed kind of out of place? I can’t put my finger on it but I still liked it.

• And just one last shoutout to the ensemble and Felming.
