February volunteering at the wheelchair tournament going on all weekend. Was amazing to watch these athletes! Tacoma is filled with volunteering opportunities of all kinds. This volunteer opportunity was through @metroparkstacoma . How will you give back to our community this year? Today was my 1st volunteering of 2019. I helped package meals for Nourish Pierce Co. Hunger & food insecurity are year round issues. Nourish is the largest network of food banks in Pierce Co, and rely heavily on volunteers. Nearly 9000 households now count on Nourish for food every month. There are many ways you can help: Make a $ donation. For every $1 you donate Nourish will provide about $7 worth of food. You can do this on their FB page or at www.nourishpc.org. ~Volunteer your time~ Donate food and/or set up a food drive. They can arrange for pick up of the food if needed~ Donate non-food essentials such as toiletries, hygene products, diapers, pet food and more~ They also love to accept food from your garden, just take to your local Nourish Food Bank. We are stronger as a community when we help each other.
