when you announce it to him first he’s gonna be surprised like no matter how long you’ve been together the idea of meeting your parents is huge for him so you willingly wanting him to feels like such an honor to him. he’ll be reassuring you nonstop in a way of also reassuring himself that he would be on his best behavior but he knows he might go overboard with all the excitement building up inside him. you should also get ready for him asking a lot of questions like “what is the key to their hearts? they have to love me !”, “do they even know me?”, “will they like me?”, it mostly just shows he cares and wants to make it a memorable meeting. and even though he’s nervous he’s mostly excited and so ready to get to know them because it means he gets to know you more. the main thought would be to make a perfect impression but so many other things came with that but taking on that road with you makes it worth it.

riwoo is really chill about it when you explain it to him he just nods in agreement like it was the logical next step in your relationship and for him it was. it’s not to say he takes it like it’s nothing and just doesn’t care about the grandeur of the circumstances if anything it’s the opposite. he’s seeing things in the long term with you so meeting your parents is an inevitable stepping stone in that process, making sure he gets their blessing right from his first meeting with them because he wasn’t going to settle for anything less than you. he’d be appreciative in so many ways but he wouldn’t show you how much he would put an effort into making the meeting perfect, mostly because he didn’t want you to worry but also cause he didn’t want to scare you with all his life partner aspirations. he knew what his goal with you was and that was enough, he'd make sure your parents had no doubts in his motives as well but he wanted you to have a free mind and dream big without thinking about a relationship tying you down because at the end of it all he would be by your side cheering you on no matter what.

well with sungho it’s different. he will not agree to meeting your parents when you mention it not because he’s scared but because he feels unprepared and he actually has an elaborate plan for how it should go and it starts with him being the one orchestrating the whole thing. he feels it’s absurd for you to invite him to your home and make your parents work to meet him, if anything he should be the one working. he’s all about grand gestures so he’s imagining a nice restaurant where you’d dine together, it would be sophisticated and he’d empty his bank account on 4 pieces of tomatoes styled delicately on a plate and it would be perfect. how could they not love him if they think he’s rich? he’s mostly joking about it but he does want to be the one to contact them first to show his respect but he promises he’ll make it perfect and they’ll love it and they’ll love him and you’ll love him even more. just trust him he’s got it under control.

he’s so pumped like let’s do it he’s ready to take on any trials that may come with meeting your parents because he’s all about you. he’s super determined to make them like him especially if you’re close to them he’ll just have to make it work. even though he has high hopes and believes they’re gonna love him since you love him (it just makes sense) he also doesn’t plan on just accepting if they happen to not approve of him. he’s in love with you and nothing is stopping him from loving you, not your parents not any one. the moment he notices a disapproval he’s grabbing you over his shoulder and leaving never to be seen there again. as much as he would love to get along with your dad for you he’d much rather spend that time showing you all the love he has for you because he has so much. “no seriously, they better love me or i’m kidnapping you. they’ll see you next at our wedding i’m not so cruel to not invite them” he’ll joke about it but sincerely not knowing how much of it is just a joke because he’d go that far for you if you wanted him to.

“are you sure you want that?” leehan would be so puzzled as to why you would think that was a good idea, he recognizes himself to be extremely unserious so he doesn’t see how that would work in such an important situation. he understands it’s a inevitable part of being in a relationship with someone that isn’t an orphan but it still seems unfamiliar to him. he would obviously love to meet your parents but he’s not sure how much they’ll like him and that’s not a risk he’s willing to take. you can try to convince him all you want but his arguments would come out valid and you would just have to accept your fate. he’d reassure you that he’ll meet them at some point, a big party with drinks and food and even his family would be there, you’d be wearing a pretty dress and we’d say “i do” and only then he’ll introduce himself to your parents. “it’s perfect y/n, they would just have to love me” he proudly say actually pleased with his mastermind thinking. he would end up meeting your parents as you proposed just to put you at ease keeping his quiet so he didn’t get to say anything out of pocket.

“why don’t you just break up with him?” you turned over to Taesan shocked at his statement, you thought he liked your boyfriend he’d never mentioned anything bad about him and neither had you so your confusion grew stronger as he continued,

“i mean honestly, i know you can’t see it now but he sucks” you just stood there dumbfounded as he rambled, Tae was your best friend for the past 2 years in uni you met him before your boyfriend so his opinion meant a lot to you, him saying things like this got you worried because while you never acted like you didn’t trust your boyfriend, letting him go and come freely, you had your doubts about his loyalty but you pushed it aside telling yourself what you didn’t know couldn’t hurt you.

“did something happen?”you ask quietly, scared to even hear the answer he could give you, he glanced at you for a second before looking away sighing you watched him walk around the room calculating his next move,

“Tae… i have the right to know” he bit his lip shaking his head before sitting beside you on your bed, he looked over to you this time letting the contact last as he spoke,

“you should probably talk to him”

Taesan barely ever hid anything from you, you were the first one he told everything so now you knew you could be right and all the trust you gave away was wasted, you can’t stop the tears now that they’re pouring, you just cover you face in your hands and let yourself sob, you feel his arms wrap around you and you dig your face into his chest as you cry out,

“he’s a dick take my word for it” you look at him once again with a frown just asking him to tell you and so he did, he caught your boyfriend at a club last night doing everything you trusted him not to, “he really doesn’t deserve your tears y/n” he says wiping your cheeks while you sniff your tears in.

reluctant to be alone you asked Taesan to stay with you for the night, he pet your hair as you laid your head on his lap, “i’d be good to you” he breathes out as you scroll through your phone deleting any signs of the relationship you just concluded, you don’t say anything for a while letting your thoughts run wild,

“i swore i wouldn’t be one of those guy best friends but y/n i can’t stand watching you get hurt by these guys when i know i could love you right” you turn to look up at him and it made sense but you didn’t want to admit it, he had always felt like more than a friend but you’d stuff yourself on situationships and pointless relationships to never have to get the chance to think about it as anything more than platonic love,

“stop joking around Tae” you laughed softly diverting your gaze from his, you knew he meant it but you couldn’t face it yet,

“stop playing blind y/n, i can say it straight up“ you faced him and smiled as if he knew you would give in if you heard those 3 words, he leaned in and whispered it right on your lips,
