I would limit it to Takama just beating the crap out of his brother, but oh well.

If I’m not mistaken, DSP previously provided us with this information on one of the earlier streams. At least in OkegomWiki it was already written in Takama’s biography even before this stream.

Does this mean… that non-human DSP's characters could potentially be hermaphrodites (with the exception of Rema, they have no gender, and therefore probably cannot have children)? If in the case of witches, demons, angels and higher in the hierarchy I can imagine this due to the fact that they have magic and that some of them definitely have an “extraterrestrial origin”, then what should I do with animal characters? It could be assumed that they can acquire several gender characteristics at once thanks to various potions and magic, but this statement rather says that they can give birth to children, regardless of gender. And this begs the question: are they all hermaphrodites?

Is Yukisada making so many cookies and cakes because of his love for sweets or because he wants to feed Shirogane all this and cheer him up? However, I am afraid that at this rate, both Yukisada and Shirogane will have diabetes… (6 _ 6)

Now we know that Yukisada wears a mokko-styled fundoshi. At the same time, it was previously mentioned that he also wears undergarments with orange polka dots and “something quite cute”, but for some reason this isn't in the OkegomWiki biography of Yukisada, so now only fundoshi… yeah…

What do you think the name of this ice cream shop in School AU would be? Here are a few of my options: Mogekov-Mogekos, Kremlin-Hashasky, Kremlin-Mogekos, Ice Scream, Under-Iceberg.

I hope Sal will be to EAT it. By the way, how about Mister Mogeko, Donut for Mister, Mister Defect Mogeko, Mogeko Donut?

Hmm…it seems that Orca's older brother has authority. I wonder if this is due to their difference in strength or because Takama is older than Idate?

Takama thinks for two, obviously… Just remember all those times when Idate did not understand the seriousness of what was happening in WaTGBS, could throw a cigarette butt in Castle Town and be punished for it, and we will immediately understand that Takama’s younger brother is not used to thinking and pondering their actions and their consequences, and therefore it was most likely the older brother who had to do all this. (- _ -)

I hope they will show us this in the full-fledged Ice Scream Remake. At the same time, I would like to see other characters from Iseberg Isle when they were still children. I would like to be look on them and on them cuteness, and look at the difference between them as children and them as adults.

Yukiyoshi and Yukisada are twins, but the difference between them is also noticeable in their physical strength. In this case, if Shirogane suddenly cannot distinguish them from each other, then he should check who is who with the help of arm wrestling. At least, even if Yukiyoshi deliberately gives in to Yukisada, he definitely won’t lose to Shiro (after all, he thinks our wolf “extremely pathetic,” so…). =)

WATGBS AU: Summary - Part 1

I decided to make a summary post for our WATGBS AU! I’ll post the rest tomorrow! I’m very passionate about my and my friends’ WATGBS AU!

The main protagonist is Wadanohara, the sea witch

What is WATGBS?

WATGBS stands for Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea. It's a pixel RPG Maker game with some horror elements (so some call it an RPG Maker horror), created by Funa (Funamusea) or DSP (Deep Sea Prisoner), which got an English translation by vgperson, who also translated many other RPG Maker pixel games and Vocaloid songs.

The original WATGBS has many TW/CWs, please be cautious. Funa’s works are all riddled with major issues, very insensitive and distasteful about the sensitive topics it handles, and framed extremely poorly as well

At first, in the first half of the game, WATGBS is just simple and cute. The protagonist, Wadanohara, who is the Sea Witch, just goes around restoring the Blue Sea Kingdom's barriers and it introduces some secondary and minor charas. It's just silly fun. But then the game suddenly jumpsprings tons of lengthy, unecessary gross shit in the 2nd half.

WATGBS could've been remembered as a cute sea animal game with the blue sea witch girl (and some lore with it). Instead, Funa's works are all so infamous for the gross bad endings and lore, and the fucking characters who are pieces of shit. It's a lot of wasted potential, which is sad, since some of the designs and settings are cute.

What is the WATGBS AU?

The WATGBS AU is an AU between me and my friends! We all contribute to it whenever we have time to draw and write for it.

After that, my friends and I have separated and distanced our WATGBS AU far enough that our AU stories and characters have nothing to do with the original at this point.

The WATGBS AU is literally just (Yoinks characters and the settings, makes an original story)

The WATGBS AU is centered around Idate, a demon orca man who is the protagonist of our WATGBS AU instead. It also focuses heavily on IdaTatsu (Idate/Tatsumiya), and the platonic familial dynamic between the orca brothers, Idate and his older twin brother, Takama. 

We heavily revamped the characters' designs and writing, and we also created a lot of original OCs for it too.

How did it start?

I originally played WATGBS back when I was a young kid. I was always suspicious of the way Funa portrayed certain sensitive themes in her work and the questionable story elements (even back then). But when I came back to replay the game as an adult, I had a lot more self-awareness. So I became very critical of the creator, Funa, and her content.

Ok so, I got into Idate stanning in December 2021, and when my friends first became aware of WATGBS (or started playing the game) in March 2022, we started making a WATGBS AU focused around our faves. It's a revamp/fix-it AU.

We threw out everything gross Funa included in WATGBS. Easy fixes. As we wrote, our AU completely diverged from the OG WATGBS, so it's more like we're telling our original story with the characters now.

I've been invested in our WATGBS AU and versions of the characters since then, and I genuinely adore and cherish all the ideas that everyone comes up with <3

Basically this whole WATGBS AU started when I got obsessed with Idate and IdaTatsu and my friends first found out about WATGBS

Important Disclaimer:

Since I draw and write a lot of WATGBS AU related stuffs, I feel like this is an important post to make.

I do not support, nor do I condone anything that the creator, Funa (Funamusea) or DSP (Deep Sea Prisoner), perpetuates in her works. I'm very critical of both the creator and her content. 

I'm extremely uncomfortable with the way she deals with serious subjects presented in many of her games, mangas, character stories, lore, and universe of OCs. 

I feel like it's worth informing that Funamusea is a pretty bad person, and to please steer far away from the rest of Funa's works if you're uncomfortable with fetishy depictions of heavily sensitive themes. Funa's portrayal of sensitive topics is extremely distasteful.

I'll try my best!!! Here's a "summary" write up. Feel free to read, only if you're curious. Our WATGBS AU is very important and personal to me, so I'm always excited to talk about it :)

WATGBS AU SUMMARY: INTRO

It's a WATGBS AU between me and a couple of friends! It has nothing to do with the original WATGBS, it's just us writing our own stories with the characters instead. We made up our own lore and completely revamped the characters' writing and designs.

Our AU focuses a lot on Idate, who is the evil protagonist of our AU. It's very IdaTatsu (Idate/Tatsumiya) centric. Demon orca DILF and magical oarfish MILF

It's also orca brothers/twins centric. It focuses a lot on the platonic familial dynamic between Idate and his older brother, Takama.

And we have our own OCs we created for it too, like our IdaTatsu fankids, Rumia and Shion, as well as our Red Sea and Blue Sea Kingdom ruler OCs, Algol and Lucinda

The basic plot (generally speaking) is about the conflict between the Red Sea and Blue Sea. There's also tons of orca family fluff and backstory angst

WATGBS AU SUMMARY: MESSAGES/THEMES

Our AU's main focuses are like: Angst and fluff. Hurt and comfort and family bonding with the orca family. Romantic attraction, meet cutes, soulmates/fateful encounters and domestic fluff with IdaTatsu

It's just good writing when protagonists (and charas in general) have characters learn from them, and also actively learn from others too.

Even with Idate's setup as a chaotic evil meow meow protagonist in our AU, he still learns things from others, and others learn things from him.

IdaTatsu both benefits and grows from their relationship greatly. The same goes for Idate and Takama's brotherly love/familial dynamic, and every character that Idate grows to love and treat as family. I love everyone's growth.

Despite all the angst that happens in our major angst/backstory arcs, I'd say our AU's main focuses are on growth and development, and allowing these characters a space/setting where they can grow and develop. Everyone comes out of their relationships having grown to become a better, healthier to themselves, person.

I think the main messages are the characters learning to be better people via each other, and the mutual cycle of learning from others (These wonderful messages/themes are inspired from Magi's writing. Magi has excellent character writing, themes, and worldbuilding :) So it gives me a lot of inspiration while writing our WATGBS AU! Also Douman (FGO) is a major inspiration for how Idate is written in our AU. I’d say Douman (FGO) and Magi are my biggest writing inspirations for our AU.)

I call the WATGBS AU characters our OCs lovingy, but we also created a bunch of original OCs for our AU too.

WATGBS AU: IDATE

Idate actually has traits in common with all my top main faves: Hibari (KHR), Douman (FGO), Xanxus (KHR), Judar (Magi). So he's very important and personal to me, and I treat him just like one of my OCs :)

Idate is like if Douman and Judar were put into a single skrunkly. Out of my faves, he has the most traits from both of them. Cuz he's a smiley murderous (^-^) sen-core meow meow mf, a violent smug bastard cat type with emotional issues and a black/white colour scheme :) My fave character type!

I’ll talk more about him in my post tomorrow ^v^ I adore him. He’s one of my sons hehe

CRITICISM OF THE CREATOR AND OG SOURCE MATERIAL

I remember someone made a tweet before like, "If you enjoy some characters but think the source material and/or creator is messed up, you should just take the characters and do your own thing."

You can always criticize Funa and her works and "steal" the characters away from her to take them for yourself, it's always morally correct. Fixing Funa's characters and stories is just morally correct at that point, especially since she's a public indie JRPG creator with such a notorious reputation. I think it's worth pointing out issues with bad public creators and bringing attention and awareness to it (at least within contained spaces)

My friends and I enjoy a couple of the WATGBS characters, but I think both the creator, Funa, and tons of things in her source material are really gross and fucked up. So we just "stole" our faves. Our OCs now. We've been writing and drawing the characters the way we want. No one's going to stop us. Stealy time against bad public creators. Operation: successful

We "stole" Idate and other WATGBS charas (only the ones we like enough to fix) to redesign, revamp and rewrite for our own purposes, and my friends and I are writing our own stories for them. They're our rehomed cat cots. "Steal" as in, we're using them for our own purposes and not paying attention to the original source material anymore

WATGBS AU: OTHER 

The WATGBS AU is literally just us running with the characters as our rehomed cat cot OCs. We just used basic names, settings, and/or character basics to make an original story

I call Idate and the others our OCs, cuz if at least 95% of the lore and characterization we added to the charas are ours, they're bsaically OCs at that point. The WATGBS AU is what happens when you and your friends blorbo so hard the characters are all basically your OCs now. Everytime I talk about the charas, I refer to our revamped WATGBS AU versions of the charas by default. Like, when I say Idate, I mean our WATGBS AU Idate, and the same goes with everyone else

Our WATGBS AU is so diverged from the OG WATGBS, it's more like "Fantasy world with our sea creatura faves" Ther ason why I’m obsessed with Idate, IdaTatsu, and our WATGBS AU faves is because I love the fanon versions we made for our WATGBS AU

GUYS I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING ABOUT GRIS, this isn't the first time that Gris and Idate have met. Remember that old information about how Idate had a 'tie phase' (especially the red tie) Remember that image of young Takama and Idate?

A RED TIE. Now, DSP had said that Idate was over his "tie phase" and no longer wears ties. Now, Idate was wearing a black tie around the time he spent on the iceberg isle and in watgbs.

so what can this mean about gris? GRIS AND IDATE MAY POSSIBLY HAVE A LONG HISTORY TOGETHER, where Gris had known Idate back then when Takama didn't have scars.

or they just dressed fancy for that date but this is something to consider because there are two art works of them wearing different suits. (if this was the case then idate dressed up all fancy for a date, how cute!!)

Honestly though, despite how gross Idate and Sal are, I still find them interesting. Like, “interesting” in a “I really wanna find out how these dudes became so fucked up“ way.

I’m hoping the manga will explain how Sal became the ambassador (though knowing dsp’s heavily rushed writing, I doubt it). And Idate? Well, even if I’ve come to accept that he’s just as disgusting (and I despise how dsp has mostly shown him doing such cruel things to Yukisada (LEAVE THE POOR BIRD ALONE), at least compared to Sal, he was alright in WatGBS. But also, I’m curious about his relations with his family besides Nagi, and, like, how the hell did he become such a jackass when Takama is a much better person?!

Most of this post will be devoted to my comments on the new information that has appeared, and not mediocre my assumptions on them, since the amount of this very information from the streams from DSP has increased so much lately (she streams almost every day). So expect a lot of text from me here and a small amount of any pictures. And yes, these drawings were also made on the stream, if I'm not mistaken.

I wonder what Rock did that makes Shirogane not even want to call him by his first name? Okay, he still doesn’t call Idate by name, but is this hot-tempered penguin really even worse than Rocma and Suno-san in the eye(s) of our depressive wolf? And yes, when did all the characters from Ice Scream manage to find out the name of the Orca? He had never introduced himself to anyone before. I understand that his niece Nagi and his "best friend" Rock may have learned his name as well as he learned their names due to long acquaintance, but what about the rest of the characters?

And the second warmest DSP character will be his brother Yukiyoshi? =)

--Especially in a place where there is a orca-rapist-abuser-bully-sociopath, a polar bear that can shred you to pieces at any time if she doesn’t like you or she is in a bad mood, a swearing penguin, which can also because of a bad mood or if you are not a child, say more nasty things and shoot you, and, finally, a living piece of pissed snow, mocking you at every opportunity. Indeed, Shirogane is really hard to get to think positively. I believe in it. Sounds like true.

I see that Takama has become more talked about on streams. Well, not as often as about his younger brother, but still… =\

Sorry dude, I forgot to mention you earlier. This character during the whole time that was his shown in Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, wasn't presented as very intelligent. I mean, all his conversations were about his hunger and even his longest monologue in essence consisted of the fact that "an empty stomach is the world's greatest pain". Even if he knew how to transform into a humanoid form, he wouldn't do it, simply because he couldn't even think about it: it would be easier to get food in his animal form, and he wouldn't even think about it, only because he is tormented by hunger more often than thoughts about his possibilities.

Most likely, those who don't find this guy scary will themselves be no less scary persons… And it seems that everyone that Idate considers weak (they either cannot fight back, or don't want to for some reason, or all at once), he classifies as "toys". Now I remember that he calls violence a "play", and in my head it just goes "play with toys" -> use violence on someone. I want to hit him.

Gosh, this friendship between Shirogane and Yukisada is clearly starting to go in some strange direction, don't you think? xD "Childhood friends" -> "close friends" -> "housemates" -> "great friends" -> "share a bed"…

They look youngful and at the same time younger than Orca. The Orca looks older, and at the same time he is older than these two. It remains to find out who else looks older/younger than whom, in order to collect at least an approximate picture in myself head regarding their age composition.

At least, before the meeting with Orca, he was definitely good health… ( - _ - )

DSP clearly keeps all information regarding the Shirogane family a secret. This wasn't the case with the family of Idate, Rock, Peraco, and, possibly, Yukisada (no one has yet asked anything about Yukisada's and his brother's parents). Does it mean that they can play some role in the Ice Scream itself…?

We recall that DSP divide into virginity into "rear virginity" and "genital virginity", and, based on this, we are already building our conclusions about what has been said.

I remembered that there was an official art showing Yukisada with a suitcase. Is it possible then that not only Yukiyoshi, probably, not living on Iceberg Isle, is visiting his older brother, but Yukisada is also visiting his younger brother as well?

But he only and does what he thinks about his childhood friend Shirogane and takes care of him all the time, so Yukisada indeed doesn't have time to think about love, ALTHOUGHWAITASECOND--! ( 0 _ 0 )

Ah, sorry dear, that’s not him. That’s Takama, Nagi’s dad and Idate’s brother. It’s nice to see that DSP is drawing more of their other characters! But...sadly, it’s not Old.

I got so excited too.
