tea orange  -  what is something that your muse is fascinated with?

Orochimaru honestly…he thinks he is fascinating, because he’s someone so comfortable in his own skin while managing to literally not be in his own skin. He’s able to transform himself while still being himself, and he’s someone who’s able to be so methodical and able to go after what he wants in his life. Kabuto can see himself in orochimaru but admire him for how different he is and how much more he is, and how also, weirdly human he is at times. In Kabuto’s view he’s perfect and flawless at the same time, and that’s so interesting to figure out. With anyone else he’d probably just find it annoying and frustrating because he does tend to be envious of people who are very sure in their identities, but, orochimaru is different and special to him.

It’s actually kind of a point in my mind that he’s not easily disgusted by anything. He’s built up a thick skin for anything like, physically disgusting regarding guts and gore or body horror, not that it doesn’t bother him sometimes but because he’s able to separate himself from the situation and shut it out. THAT SAID, one thing he can’t stand is cannibalism as I’ve mentioned before that’s something he absolutely cannot stomach, somehow it’s just like so morally vile and literally just disgusting that he cannot handle it. Also he’s very disgusted by sasuke’s entire existence and the fact that everyone in the leaf village pines over this shitty emo teenager.

Honestly ever since we’ve become mutuals it’s been nothing but a Fun Ride  with angsty stuff or crack and I love it ?? The thread we have is legit 100 percent suigetsu and sasuke and I love it ——- it’s like our writing, from the get go, flowed very naturally and just ! I love matching chemistry w/ someone concerning writing and you’re such an amazing writer to add onto all of this ?  Your Suigetsu is my Absolute Fav water guy and !! it’s just having the connection between Sasuke and Suigetsu helps ME alot concerning his past with Taka / Hebi / The Cave Squad and writing in his older verse, it just is very reminiscent of his past like u have no idea how much you help me write my own muse honestly. Anyways like look, Raz ur really great at writing Suigetsu and I can’t wait to write more things in the future !!

it really, REALLY, depends on the situation for his patience. in general, he tends to be a very patient man -- most strategies rely on you waiting for the exact moment to strike and such a thing has really bled into his daily life. he isn’t one to take an insult lying down, but if it’s just words and not an actual insult that might damage his reputation, he’ll probably just.......ignore it and let it slide.

that being said, revived madara ( like during his fight ) is NOT PATIENT AT ALL and neither is sage madara, despite being. basically immortal.

appearance headcanons: his hair is really soft, actually, he takes really good care of it. he wears it long because of a tradition in the warring states era -- wearing your hair long is a taunt, basically a ‘i can defeat you before you can use this massive weakness against me’ because i doubt many of the people in that time period were above hair pulling in a fight. 

he’s also a bit darker than what most would consider the uchiha to be, but that’s because he’s used to being outside and working a lot. it makes the scars on his body quite prominent.

friends, huh? weird. Nobody had ever thought they'd be good friends with her. She was a weak little girl. She was an anti-climax, a nobody, a strange freak with poor social skills and an insufferable know-it-all quality. She was riddled with an inferiority-superiority complex that repulsed people from getting too close to her, disgusted by the aura of desperation for approval while simultaneously being keenly critical of others' faults in search of ego-validation. Nobody ever wanted to be her friend.

Until, of course, she ends up hereー in this arena of freaks and monsters. Said a lot about her, huh?

Then againー she frowns, now, her face awash with a miasma of confusion and suspicionー what was to say he even actually wanted to be her friend? More likely he was trying to butter her up, use her apparent vulnerability as a surefire way to bust himself out. Throw her under the bus in the meantime, so he's got a better head start. Why else would he bother making the effort? It's not as if Otogakure prided itself on team morale. It was common practise to throw prisoners in a pit and see what happened. Karin wasn't even sure if there was a point to it, or if it was just some whimsical theatre of violence.

It didn't matter if there was, she thinks. She's accepted the strange logic of the Hidden Sound, of the inherent chaos Orochimaru brought to their lives. The only semblance of order came from the predatory hierarchy, and even thenー if you were weak enough, you'd be dragged down to bottom and eaten alive. Sometimes literally. All that mattered was that Suigetsu was near the bottom ( though she wondered if there was really any lower than being suspended naked in a tank, only released for the odd toss in the fighting pit ) and that Karin was comfortably middling. If she kept excelling at her sensory training, she might even find herself on a higher rung. That was what mattered.

And she wasn't going to let him threaten that, with his false friendships and dangerous ideas. Karin narrows her eyes, glaring at him with a scientific coldness. She wasn't some easy-going soft kidー there was something in her, Orochimaru saw it, some gleam of potential that made her different from him, floating in his prison. He couldn't manipulate her into ruining everything. ❝I don't. I don't want to be friends with something like you.❞ Something, she says, hoping that it will ward him off from trying to pull at her heart-strings ever again. Something, she says, so she feels a little better about hurting him.

basil :   does your muse have a love - hate relationship with anyone or anything ?

For some the line between love and hate may be a thin one, but to Kabuto it’s clear as day. That was until after the war. 

Kabuto finds himself very grateful that Itachi showed him there was another path beyond self-destruction. But after Itachi’s jutsu set him straight, life has been a bit more complicated.  Things used to be easy when he could blissfully serve Orochimaru and show disdain towards everyone else. And sometimes Kabuto wishes for that simplicity again. But he also understands his sense of self being tied to a single person/ideal was unsustainable.

Unfortunately, in an effort to find himself Kabuto has found his feelings towards Orochimaru become a bit more complicated. There’s this sense of familiarity with Orochimaru. Despite his initial reaction to seeing the other at the tail end of the Fourth Shinobi War, Kabuto doesn’t hate Orochimaru. At least, not entirely. It’s almost as if he wants to hate him, blame him for the wayward path his life took. But he also knows that his time with Orochimaru was not under duress. He enjoyed working side-by-side with him, and finds himself missing their time together. As much as he hates to admit it, he loved his time with Orochimaru and knows it’s just as much a fundamental part of who he is as was his time in the orphanage.

chrysanthemum :   how does your muse express romantic love ? how do they feel about love as a concept ?

Kabuto’s idea of love probably doesn’t jive with how most others view it. He’s not incapable of it, and has even felt it, however briefly, in its purest form while living at the orphanage. 

Kabuto has never experienced romantic love in its entirety. If you asked him to describe it he’d list off the chemical reactions which happen in the brain. That’s what love is to him, a chemical reaction. Now if if you asked him whether he’s ever experienced that reaction, well, that’s a harder one to answer. 

The closest thing Kabuto has to love is his relationship with Orochimaru. But you can hardly call what they have romantic. It’s a twisted mess of symbiotic codependence and somewhere hidden beneath all that toxic sludge maybe, just maybe is a hint of romantic attraction. The thing is, love isn’t what Kabuto wants. He prefers the dependence of another. To know that a man as powerful as Orochimaru relies on him, confides in him, and desires him is far more pleasurable than anything as fleeting as love. 

In terms of love languages he’s definitely someone who shows it by acts of service and spending time with them. He’s not particularly physically affectionate and his verbal affirmations probably sound more like verbal assaults'. He’s a pro at anticipating the needs of others. Definitely the type to do shit without being asked. A bit of a stalker, really. You might want to invest in a good lock for your doors.

gladiolus :   describe a moment from your muse’s life that they will never forget.

His life is a fast paced mess of moments that would leave the average person emotionally drained and broken. Luckily for Kabuto life has kicked him in the nads so many times he’s pretty deadened to the big things, at this point. Usually creating a Naruto-robot to kill the Akatsuki or watching your boss consume the body and soul of another human being every 3 years would be the highlight of your Christmas card, but for Kabuto it doesn’t even make the ‘this and that’ section. No, beyond a few notable moments like being found by Nonou, becoming a spy, killing “Mother”, meeting Orochimaru followed a decade later by his demise, etc there aren’t many things that blip Kabuto’s radar. Sure, he remembers them, but rarely are the significant in his mind. 

No, truly the moment he will truly never forget is the when he had a 15 minute break where he sat, did nothing, and drank a cup of tea. And let me tell you, it was the best damn cup of tea he’s ever had. Kabuto hasn’t had a work break since, much less a vacation.
