New York Rangers at the Bronx Zoo.

"Are you really gonna leave without asking me the question you've been dying to ask me?" the woman asked her brother. She knew the man had questions for her but he wasn’t wanting to ask. Which surprised Xandra. The man had always been one that was never shy or cared that he was stepping on toes. What was the difference now? Did he know about something that she didn’t know about or was he curious to see if she had been planning to go finally meet her grandparents. Or was he wondering if she had dropped her bad habit that she had picked up when she had been in high school and college. The possibilities for what he could be wanting to know, but not asking were infinite. When her older brother shook his head and turned around to rush off away from her to go and meet up with some of his buddies. “See ya later sis, we’re going to go find the big cats” he told her over her shoulder. The woman grumbled. That was just like her brother to leave her when he had something on his mind. “JERK!” she grumbled as she crossed her arms over her chest. She would corner him later to make him tell her what was on his mind-- for now she would just simply enjoy their day at the Bronx zoo. This had been planned by the head coach for the Rangers as a team building day. The guys on the team had been having issues getting along and this was a way that the coach had thought would bring them together. Which, Xandra had to agree that it would help, at least a little giving them a whole day doing nothing but enjoying the great weather and seeing all the animals together. It had been an idea that her and the coach had came up with together when she had told him that many of the athletes were feeling as if they were on the outside, that there were cliques within the team.

Xandra watched her brother walk away with a few others on the team and shook her head. He would be getting a hard smack upside of the head as soon as she seen him when she was off the clock. The blonde loved that she was getting paid to be at the zoo. Although, she knew that her legs and ankles would swell up like balloons for all of the walking that she was about to do. Not that she minded, she needed to stay on her feet as much as she could since soon she would most likely be told that she wouldn’t be allowed to do much of anything other than lay in bed until the baby was born. Xandra prayed that she never had to deal with that. That would be a nightmare-- she was already going crazy and all she was doing was not working nearly as much. Just the little bit of extra time that she had gotten she was going a bit crazy. Shaking her head, the woman went on her way. Her first stop that she wanted to go and see was all the animals that were located in the children’s part of the zoo. In a way this was her way of bringing her little girl to see the zoo before she was born. Her hand rested against her large baby bump as she walked to the children’s area of the zoo.

 The blonde could already feel the soreness in her feet starting to move up to her ankles and her calves. She couldn’t stop now, she needed to at least try and make it to the exhibit that she wanted to go to before she took a seat. As she walked toward where she was going, she looked around a smile on her lips as she seen everyone around her enjoying the zoo as well. The day was beautiful, it was a perfect day to be at the zoo. Not too hot, and not super cold. Just the perfect weather to be at the zoo for the entirety of the day. Which was what her and the rest of the New York Rangers would be doing. An entire day at the zoo together. Although, Xandra would venture off on her own. This was for the team to grow closer to one another, not feel like they are being watched by who they call the ‘team shrink”. The coaches would be watching them to make sure that they were actually spending time together and not just using this as a way to get paid for doing nothing other than being at the zoo.

Once she had arrived to the children’s area, she smiled at all the kids that were around with their parents. Xandra couldn’t wait to actually bring her baby girl to the zoo. Of course it would be a few months before she would even try that. Xandra wanted to make sure that everything would be alright with her little one before exposing her to this many different germs. Probably overreacting but she couldn’t help it, she didn’t want anything bad to happen to her baby. The blonde slowed her pace as she stopped to look at the various animals that were there in the exhibit. A huge smile was plastered on her lips as she stopped to look at the Fennec Foxes that were the first exhibit in the children’s area. Going over to the edge of where they were kept, she smiled as one came up to her. The foxes were such beautiful creatures. “Hey there little one.” she said with a smile. Xandra knew that people would probably be looking at her oddly for talking to the fox that had came up to her, but couldn’t quite reach her due to being blocked by the exhibit walls. “Baby Perez, there’s a little fox sniffing at you.” she stated as she rubbed her belly with a soft laugh. The fox was sniffing in the general direction of where her rather large stomach was covered by her ranger’s t-shirt.

Spending the day at the zoo had been a wonderful idea. She was enjoying everything about it, even though she was technically there on work. It was still a nice change for her to have the time alone and not have the athletes all around asking her a billion and one questions. Moving away from where the Fennec foxes were, she started to follow the small line of people that were already heading towards the next exhibit. The next exhibit happened to be an area where the children could go and pet the baby goats. Xandra smiled at the kids as they petted the animals with a look of pure joy. She went and took a seat on the bench and watched them. One day she would be able to bring her little girl here and have her pet the baby goats. That thought brought a smile to her lips as she rubbed her hand against her stomach. As she sat there, allowing her feet to rest for a while before she would get back up to continue her adventure. While she sat there, she smiled at the kids as they happily rubbed and fed the goats little treats. 

The blonde leaned her head back and looked up at the sky for a moment with her eyes closed, just basking in the great weather and the wonderful ambiance of the zoo. After sitting on the bench for more time than she had expected, the woman stood up with a soft groan. No sooner than she had gotten up from the bench and took a few steps forward, she walked into another body. “Crap! Sorry!” she said as she glanced at the person that she had bumped into. He looked like he worked for the zoo, although she couldn’t be sure. “I should seriously watch where I am going! I sincerely apologize.” she said as she gently rubbed on her belly, since she had mostly hit the man with her stomach. She knew that neither of them had been hurt they hadn’t collided that hard, but it still didn’t make her feel good that she had bumped into the man because she hadn’t been watching where she was going. Xandra had to really work on watching where she was going rather than watching her stomach as she walked since she could barely see her feet at this point in her pregnancy.

There were so many words unsaid between them, the air thickened with the tension of everything they wouldn’t speak about, “what is this?” he asked holding up a small thick stack of papers, but Sarah remained quiet which in all honesty was pissing Lucas off even more. He remembered coming home from his tour and finding this on his dining table along with her weddings bands, “I thought we discussed this, I didn’t do anything, and tabloids were lying about shit I was doing on tour!” He slammed the divorce papers on the table as he kept his greenish blue hues locked on Sarah, but she still remained calm as if this wasn’t a big deal, “what’s done is done Lucas. I want a divorce and that’s final…” she said as her arms crossed against her chest waiting on Lucas to put his signatures on the papers, “this is bullshit Sarah and you know it,” he said knowing she wasn’t going to talk to him about this. Hearing a gun cock caused Lucas to look over seeing Sarah’s father coming out of his office a shot gun now pointed at his chest, “I think it’s best you left now son,” Lucas shook his head a bit, “are you fucken serious right now?” he asked looking from Sarah’s father back to her, “I never really loved you Lucas… I used you for the fame…” she spat, it was almost as if Lucas’s heart sank nodding his head a bit, “fuck you Sarah…” he said finally signing the papers before tossing it in Sarah’s direction, “there you go bitch, have a nice life,” he said before watching her father step forwards with the gun causing Lucas to back out of the house, “yeah I’m fucken goin!” he said as he eyed her father for a moment before letting himself out of the house, “don’t let me catch you around here or around my daughter or I won’t hesitate to use it mate,” Lucas laughed lightly shaking his head, “fuck you both!” Making his way over to his motorcycle he grabbed his helmet and got on before starting it up he slipped his helmet on before looking over towards the house seeing Sarah standing at the door with their son, gritting his teeth he slammed his visor down before taking off, the first place he could actually think of going was the SoHo, his usual spot. He needed a drink or 10 maybe he’d even call Jessie or Brielle to hook him up with something to take the edge off.

I can’t believe Mom thought this would be a good idea. Georgia fucking sucks. It’s hot and muggy. What the hell was wrong with good ol’ Iowa? I’m already not feeling this. Whoever she met on the internet, this can’t be worth it.

What the hell just happened?

Mom took me to meet her significant other today. I thought I was ready. Prepared, at least, in the most basic way. Some douche with tattoos and a motorcycle? No problem. All the more motivation to get a job and save up for a bus ticket back to Iowa.

Holy shit, was I wrong.

Mom’s a lesbian? Which is fine. I mean, who cares. If that’s what makes you happy. I kissed a girl on a dare in seventh grade. Whatever.

But how did I not know?

Now, I’m questioning everything. Who is this woman I call my mother? I didn’t know she was online dating. I didn’t know she was into girls. I didn’t know any of this. And this woman she’s seeing, this woman I know nothing about because I zoned out and didn’t pay attention to anything she said after the big revelation... This woman knows my mom better than I do.

I can’t stay here. I can’t stay in this place I don’t like. All my friends are in Iowa. I’m not meant to live in the south. I don’t even like tea.

But how can I go back home when it feels like everything’s been a lie so far?

The first day of school sucked. Even with Hope in my lunch, I still feel all alone. These people aren’t my friends. They don’t know anything about me.

I’ve never been so happy to come home in my life.

Wait. Did I just call this place home? With Hope, and her mom, and my mom...

I guess it’s as close as I’ll ever get, right?

I never thought I’d figure it out. I never thought I’d fit in here. But guess what? I’m a fucking legend. Sort of. At least... I have friends.

Volleyball, photography for the paper... I’ve been busy. You’ll have to excuse me for not writing. But holy shit, have things gotten different around here.

For example: this is the best Christmas I’ve had in years. The tree looks amazing. Our cookies taste fucking amazing. Even the frosting didn’t get hard all that soon like the past couple years.

I’m so fucking pumped for 2010. I have a feeling it’s gonna be the best new start I’ve ever had. Besides coming to this place.

But it’s kind of like home now. So does that really count?

Day 4 task 26

Today's task is to paint something and I have successfully completed it. I picked this task due to the fact that I have been to busy with school lately that painting something flew out the window for me. So this task was super fun, painting relaxes me so I enjoyed this a lot. It took some time but its done and I'm happy with it. I guess it's not a master peace but its an achievement. I will post it later on a separate post. But it's a painting of the night with a moon and trees, yes it is very simple. I also painted some stars which I can't decide if they look more like stars or snow. I had a lot of fun with this task today so I have decided to do more painting when I have time in these holidays just so I am not so bored. :)
