Dear Taylor,

I wasn’t sure if you saw this on Twitter. I know there are like a ton of people trying to get your attention. Hell, I don’t know if you will see this now. But, it can’t hurt right. I’m not sure if I ever told you, but I am a high school math teacher. I have been for the last 16 years. I have worked in some of the worst neighborhoods in the country, by choice. ‪On 4/29,I was covering for another teacher when two students began to fight.While separating them to keep the rest of the students in the room safe,I was hit in head.I ended up w/ a concussion and was diagnosed with Post-Concussive Syndrome. I’ve spent the last month w/massive headaches, dizziness, nausea, etc... I couldn’t remember things,I couldn’t find words,I would be having a conversation&just stop talking,not remembering what I’d been talking about or what I did say would make no sense.Not even some of my closest friends know all this. My neurologist has said that I could experience difficulties for the next year, maybe longer.June 3rd,was my first day back teaching.Things are better,but I still end every day in pain.I’ve spent my adult life in service to my community,I’d take a bullet for anyone of my students.Even after all that has happened. I truly love my job and I just wanted to say on behalf of all the teachers I know how much we appreciate you music and positive messages. Thank you! Forever and Always, Nicole
