BC Spirits "Spirits a Day" #361 - Bohemian Spirits Limited Gin
DISTILLERY NOTES
Get off the fence! Limited Gin favours those who venture further than the front yard. The botanicals in this wild little number include juniper, fir tips, rose-hip, cottonwood, Oregon-grape and huckleberry. All hand-harvested in the Rocky Mountains, in our back yard.
BC SPIRITS NOTES
I don't get much Bohemian Spirits products in Victoria so I am always happy when I find some. After yesterdays big citrus bomb gin, this is a change of pace with earthy green notes, bold juniper and complex earthy botanicals in the mix. Classic juniper forward style is perfect for the purists.
Alcohol - 46% / 92 proof
Color - Clear
Nose - Big juniper on the nose, earthy and herbaceous
Taste - Green earthiness, rich juniper, complex almost woody botanicals and an underlying sweet aromatic
Finish - Rich juniper, hints of aromatic fruitiness and earthy tones
Best Enjoyed - Gin and Tonic all the way

BC Spirits "Spirits a Day" #360 - Provincial Spirits Gin
DISTILLERY NOTES
One of a kind blend of botanicals with a good kick of juniper and a smooth blend of lime and lemon for a punch of citrus. A classic dry gin that is made for splashing in the deep end of cocktails.
BC SPIRITS NOTES
Have done Provincial Spirits very tasty RTD's but never there straight spirit products. Their gin is very reminiscent of Roku from Japan, a big lemon bomb with underlying complexity of botanicals and earthy juniper. Fun one for your G&Ts for sure.
Alcohol - 40% / 80 proof
Color - Clear
Nose - Huge citrus on the nose with only slight juniper underlying
Taste - On the palate, it expands but is still very citrus forward with poignant juniper and then complex aromatic botanicals to tie it together
Finish - Big citrus peel and slight juniper berry
Best Enjoyed - White Lady or with grapefruit tonic
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MuZm7VfPzVg" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

BC Spirits "Spirits a Day" #357 - Jones Distilling Bathtub Gin #3 Strawberry
DISTILLERY NOTES
Made with real strawberries and botanicals, our Award Winning gin uses a steeping method to get the full colour, flavour and aroma from the fruit.
BC SPIRITS NOTES
Fantastic little find from Jones Distilling , there Bathtub Gin Series #3 infused with strawberries. Strawberries are actually super hard to infuse into a spirit and make it still taste like strawberries but they did a great job. Their gin is bright and botanical and the strawberry is perfectly nuanced in the mix. Soft and subtle but still there.
Alcohol - 37.5% / 75 proof
Color - light pinky yellow
Nose - Soft fresh strawberries, then Jones Distilling gin, bright juniper and subtle earthy tones
Taste - The strawberry is soft and fruity on the front of the palate and then the classic gin rolls over the palate with bright juniper and botanicals. Balanced
Finish - The poignant gin is balanced with the soft fruity strawberry
Best Enjoyed - Clover Club riff

BC Spirits "Spirits a Day" #354 - Bruinwood Distillery Earl Grey Gin
DISTILLERY NOTES
The distinctive flavours of juniper, bergamot and a hint of creaminess present a delightful take on a spirited cup of tea.
BC SPIRITS NOTES
I have done a ton of things with Bruinwood Estate Distillery in the last few weeks, I picked this little number up from Vintage Spirits and I am glad I did. The fragrant and aromatic bergamot with hints of earl grey and gin on the nose. The palate though explodes with earl grey tea, bergamot and just the slightest hints of Bruinwood gin below, not over extracted, perfect notes of tea, citrus and gin
Alcohol - 40% / 80 proof
Color - Reddish brown
Nose - Dried bergamot, aromatic earl grey, hints of vanilla with the juniper forward gin sneaking in behind
Taste - So floral and fragrant, bergamot and earl grey just explode on the palate with rich and aromatic flavors. The gin is subdued but lingers in the background
Finish - Like a perfectly brewed cup of earl grey tea
Best Enjoyed - Earl Grey MarTEAni

DISTILLERY NOTES
Custom cask strength, French Pinot Noir cask finished single malt for Wee Rock Whisky Club.
BC SPIRITS NOTES
For the 350th episode, I had to do something special and luckily enough, good friend and fellow whisky nerd, hooked me up with a bottle of Shelter Point Distillery Wee Rocky Whisky Club Single Malt finished in French Pinot Noir Barrels. I think I am in love, beautiful grain bass notes on the nose that sets up that spiced vanilla, dried red fruit and hints of funky Pinot Noir flavors on the palate. Maybe one of my favorite expressions from Shelter Point to date.
Alcohol - 57.5% / 115 proof
Color - Deep burnt copper
Nose - funky red fruit notes with rich French oak notes with that classic Shelter Point notes.
Taste - Classic Shelter Point grain structure but the French Pinot Noir funky red fruit balances out the heat of the alcohol content.
Finish - Long, red fruit, vanilla spice, structure French oak notes and a nice prickle in the back of your throat
Best Enjoyed - Neat

BC Spirits "Spirits of the Week" #19 - Mad Lab Sarsaparilla Schnapps
BC SPIRITS NOTES
Two things if you know me well enough is, that I love Scotty from Mad Lab Spirits and I adore sarsaparilla. But don't take these crazy schnapps as those sickly sweet root beer schnapps that you would have had as shots as a kid. These are complex and layered, sassafras, hints of burdock, gorgeous herbal complexity with just a kiss of sweetness. This is close to an amaro without the bitter notes, will work perfectly in a bourbon sour rift to give it some fall feelings.
Alcohol - 30% / 60 proof
Color - Root beer brown
Nose - Soft vanilla, dry sassafras, autumn spice
Taste - Complex herbal and spice notes, sassafras, burdock, nutmeg and clove with underlying vanilla softness
Finish - Dry sarsaparilla lingers with underlying spice notes
Best Enjoyed - In an Old Fashioned or Manhattan rift
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/nZPQD2wjSrI" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
