por lo que veo en las fotos las galletitas que hiciste creo que son galletitas mantecosas (?): masa fina, donde la manteca es lo importante y cuando las comes se “derriten” en la boca. no son complicadas de hacer pero sí son delicadas y con instrucciones muy fijas. principalmente el tema de enfriar la masa y sus ingredientes.

yo en tu posición buscaría una nueva receta de galletitas mantecosas, usaría manteca en vez de aceite (si queres, sino buscas alternativas veganas/vegetarianas), las dejaría dos/tres horas de frío y se que parece mucho pero cuando las dejas más tiempo, mejor te van a salir y las vas a poder manejar con más tranquilidad. además de fijarme que harinas sirven para la masa o no, que sean buena marca, que ya las usaste y quedaron bien, etc etc etc. a veces sin darte cuenta los ingredientes son muy cruciales, más para una receta así.

y por el tema de la amargura, seguramente fue tema de la leche que estaba vencida o no se habrá cocinado del todo dejando ese sabor raro.

Halle stares at the number. It's not one she recognizes, which means it's either spam, someone from work, or—

God. She's not even going to think it. It's too pathetic. She flips open the phone and brings it to her ear, clutching it to her face with her shoulder after a moment so she can pour herself another glass of wine. “Hello?”

“Happy birthday!” It's a man's voice, one that seems similar to Matt's, but that could be the wine and the idiotic sentimentality skewing her perception, too.

“Thank you,” she says, swirling the wine in her glass a little and adjusting to hold the phone with her hand again. “May I ask who this is?”

“Ouch, Halle,” the man says, and now she's pretty damn sure it is Matt. “Guess you haven't been thinking of me as much as I've been thinking about you, huh?”

She laughs, face warming at the overt flirtation. “Matt,” Halle says. “Forgive me. I wasn't expecting to hear from you.”

She hears him sharply suck air in through his teeth. “Fuck, did I wait too long to call? Sorry. I'm— sort of shit at this kinda thing.”

Halle resists the urge to ask him what kind of thing he thinks is going on between them; she's not even sure what she wants the answer to be. “You're fine,” she assures. “I appreciate the kind wishes.”

“Yeah, of course,” Matt says. “What're you doing for it? Throwing a rager?”

Laughing again, Halle crouches to peek at the chicken she has in the oven. It's still got a ways to go; there are another twenty minutes on the timer, but she thinks it might take closer to thirty. “I'm afraid not,” she tells Matt. “I don't actually have many friends in the city anymore. Most of them have gotten married, moved to the suburbs.”

“How frightfully dull,” he replies in a posh British accent. “Uh, of them, I mean. You're not dull.”

She hums. “I don't know. I'm thirty now, might have to take up knitting or something.”

“Hey, knitting is kinda cool," Matt says. "You'd make it hot somehow.”

“Careful,” Halle says. “Or I might think you're trying to invite yourself over.”

She winces the moment the words are out of her mouth, belatedly realizing how desperate she sounds.

“Here I thought I was being so smooth about it,” Matt says. There's a tense pause as Halle tries to determine if he's serious. “For real, though,” he adds, “I'd really love to see you.”

She forces herself to relax, taking a sip of her wine before replying. “I wouldn't mind the company,” she says. “If you happen to be free.”

“I'm so free,” Matt blurts. “Where do you live?”

“I'm in Manhattan,” she says, then rattles off her block and the name of her building.

“Sick, I'm actually not that far from there,” Matt says. “I'll be there in like— fifteen minutes?”

“Sounds good,” she says, though fifteen minutes gives her virtually no time to freshen up. “Ring apartment 202 when you get here, I'll buzz you up.”

yeah, part of me is sad that there's only 8 episodes because the show really is so, so good (and it's such a mood esp in October/November) but the narrative and editing are so tight that I really don't mind? I know lots of people would rather binge supernatural BLs because of the suspense but I really hope the show does well. Even on mdl people seem to praise it so 🤞
