hey, note that I made a proship TMNT server with ore no otouto. he's not too bad (/aff) and we have lots of channels and some emojis. it's pretty sweet u guys should stop by :3

server's mixed age (13+) so keep that in mind, but all ships friendly. we're also system friendly and radinclus ofc. also we got a ticket entry and people-run security system so not just anybody's gonna be strolling in seeing everything.

Before we get started, please note that Creature Con is not a competition. There is no "winner" or "loser," but you can earn achievements! It'll be an online convention so that people can interact, share their stories, and make new friends!

Creature Con will be hosted on Discord! Both AU creators and guests are more than welcome to join.

However, guests do need to wait until all AU's are in and submissions are done for the Discord to be open to the public.

What Counts As A Creature

For the purpose of this con, a creature counts as a character being a different thing, having something happening, or both! Here's a list:

Rules

While more rules will be available in the Discord once the server is open, here are some of the basics.

NO Tcest [This includes showing images/art with the intention of mocking it].

NO directed racism, ableism, transphobia, homophobia or sexism. If your AU contains these themes, they must be tagged and have the according TW/CW's.

Sensitive topics MUST be blocked out [In Discord, this means having || on either side of the word/sentence, which covers it] and tagged with TW/CW's.

NO Arguing, harassment, bullying, ect. If you have a problem with someone talk in private to sort things out, or contact a mod if they are causing issues.

NO heavy venting in the server.

NO spamming the server.

Want To Submit An AU?

When the forms are open, anyone is welcome to apply if their AU fits! As said above, it can be an AU from any generation. However, there are only 30 spots as to not overwhelm the mods with too many people!

SUBMISSION FORM

SUMISSIONS WILL BE OPEN FROM 6/19/2025 - 7/3/2025, WE WILL NOT BE TAKING ANY MORE SUBMISSIONS AFTER JULY 3RD AT 11:59PM UTC OR 6:59PM EST.

Once submissions are complete, there will be a break so everything can get set up and so invites can be sent out.

Some creators may be asked extra questions, here is where we'll ask if they are any extra TW/CW's forgotten when the form was filled out, along with things like custom achievements for the AU.

To make sure every AU has it's time to shine, there will be Spotlight Segments. During these, certain AU's from different categories will get focus put onto them. Think of it like a panel in an in person convention. This way, no AU gets overlooked!

being on Bluesky is very interesting...

a lot of tcesters/proship assholes have moved there and i get to watch in real time as i find people who interact with me here on tumblr, like my stuff, or follow me are intentionally disrespecting my boundaries.

my disappointment is... hard to express. mainly i'm just tired. like what did i do to deserve this, man.

it feeds into my paranoia that like half the people who like my stuff are genuinely horrible people who have not an ounce of respect for me or any adult who clearly states they don't like that crap and wants it as far away from them as possible.

there is some sort of really awful problem in fandom about not respecting others' boundaries, and it's truly revolting behavior. i catch people not respecting my tcest/proship boundaries, i catch kids lying about their age to get into my nsfw stuff, i catch tcest/proshippers in my discord server that is clearly marked as not for them... it's gotten worse and worse.

i just have to calm myself and remember that i have a lot of good friends in the fandom, and have faith that they would not betray my trust the way others do. and i have to continue having hope that a majority of my followers are not the sort to intentionally violate boundaries, that they are good people. that i give off a good energy that similarly good people vibe with.

idk. it sucks to find out these things. unfortunately i do way too frequently.

but you know what sounds exhausting and miserable, more than anything? living in a web of lies and feeling you have to sneak around all the time because you know deep down that you're doing something wrong. this may suck, but i'm so glad i don't live the way many of these miserable people do. get well soon.

What is Turtles & Turnips?

Turtles & Turnips was founded on July 25th, 2024 by our admin @thunderberryz, AKA Star. It originally began as a community Discord server for fans of the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series with a simple aim: to provide a welcoming environment for fans and enjoyers of the Y2K turtles to hang out, talk about the show, and have fun. Since it was created, the Discord server has grown tremendously and we are now looking to expand our community beyond our neck of the sewers and into the surface world above--hence, the creation of this blog!

What does the server and community offer?

Within the server, we have various VC events such as our Turtle Pile chats and monthly TMNT Watch Parties for members to participate in, as well as an ongoing DnD campaign. If you're not part of the server, though, there are still plenty of ways you can participate in the community! Through this blog, we will be providing fun turtle-themed art/writing prompts, promoting the blogs and fanworks of our community members, and plenty of other fun stuff relating to the 2003 series and TMNT as a whole. Stay tuned!

We do not discriminate based on one's preferred iteration. Everyone is allowed to participate, even if the 2003 series isn't your favorite.

Are you an Original Characters-friendly community?

Yes! We absolutely love Original Characters and would love for you to share yours!

What should I know if I plan to join the server?

Although we are a SFW server, we request that everyone who joins be at least 18 or older. We have nothing against minors--this is simply for everyone's safety and comfort. Other general rules include remembering to tag spoilers and potential triggers, and just being respectful of anyone and everyone participating in discussions.

Are there any kinds of fanworks that aren't allowed in the server or community?

Sexually explicit NSFW is strictly prohibited. We also don't allow for tcest or any other incestuous ships (what might be considered pseudo-incest IE something like 2012 Leorai is something of a gray area; see our server rulebook for details), as well as minor/adult ships. We also have a ban on AI-generated images.

Any other information I should be aware of for the server?

We do request that members of the server avoid discussing real-world politics (seriously, those can get messy extremely fast.) In addition, we have a "Three Strikes" rule regarding instances of rule breaking and poor behavior in the server; this is to ensure that problems do not persist for too long while still giving members a chance to clean up their act before they're kicked/banned.

What should I do if I created something for the community and want it promoted by the blog?

Hello! Follower of mine brought this up to me.

I chose to use the anon feature as I'm not really into the whole Tcest thing and would rather not be questioned about why I'minteracting with Tcest accounts. I really don't give a shit what you guys do as long as you're not out here harassing people.

Whoever submitted that fanfic stole my headcanons of the turtles and are most likely in a tmnt server and seen me posting the headcanons.

I do not write Tcest at all. The name Ryuji is a name I chose for Raphael since most children from Asian families have their western name used for school and their American friends and the Asian name used by their family.

I don't know who it was but the fact they used my headcanons for a tcest fic makes me feel sick to my stomach. Especially since if you noticed with Raph's speech pattern, he speaks like a child. Raphael in my own universe's mental age does not reflect his chronological age due to trauma he's been through.

While, yes, it does take inspiration from other iterations, it is its own continuity.

I wasn't sure how to understand the intentions, hence why I didn't add any additional trigger tags to the post. To me, it read more abusive than anything and not my normal style of storytelling whatsoever.
