Here are a few baby mers (the rest of Ris’s pod except Sorbet) and a Giorno.

After an hour and a half, I finally finished Vincotto’s reference sheet!!

He looks so cute!!!

Here’s some more info:

Vincotto is not in a pod and is considered more of a “Lone wolf,” similar to Giorno. One day he met Illuso, and followed him and the pod from a distance. Vin doesn’t go onto land often, so his tolerance is only about 3 hours. Even as a merman, he can still do drag, in a sense. His ability is based off of his stand, obviously. He can hide in shadows and dark areas and can sting (much like a regular jellyfish).

He takes pride in his tail and grooms often, however he doesn’t bother with his upper half. His hair is messy and he’s never bothered to fix it. He doesn’t have any back or side fins, as jellyfish don’t have fins, so he is a slow swimmer. He makes up for it with his venom though.

The scars on his arms were caused by a motorboat from the last time he went near shore. He hasn’t gone on land since, so it’s been a few years. His land legs are relatively normal, but his tail colors still show up. However, because of their color, his legs just look badly bruised.

I forgot this on the reference sheet, but he is 22.

(JJBA Mer AU) Mer Prosciutto taking on an intruder. His tail eyes only open to intimidate, often scaring off would be attackers or at least stunning them. Risotto makes the spears and weapons for his pod to use, seen here. Prosciutto is also a formidable opponent on his own, despite being smaller than Risotto. He’s ruthless.

Territory disputes are common in the sea, the King having given his assassins a good area with plenty of fish. His guards already have the castle which is considered more luxurious so his assassins have to deal with intruders on their territory like any other pod. Unfortunately for attackers they often underestimate why they’re assassins, thinking they can take on this pod of strange looking mers.

(Mer AU) Merfolk enjoy doing each other’s hair and perching on rocks, that part of the stereotype is true. Well with Risotto’s pod, you’re more likely to get dragged over and your hair done up nicely by Prosciutto. He’s fussy and needs control. Melone doesn’t mind and actually likes it.

Melone does his research once he gets bored of annoying Prosciutto. At this point he becomes super focused on it and Illuso took the opportunity to step in and do his hair.

(Mer AU) been a bit since I’ve drawn Risotto and Prosciutto cuddling in the AU (And Prosciutto shoving his face into Risotto’s chest). The usual.

And for newer people: In my Mer AU only some of the characters are mers, and the humans are supposed to be unaware of their existence according to the King (Diavolo). Fugo found an injured, sickly merman in the netting on a beach, and decided to help him. He brought him back to town to get assistance on a whim. It turned out Narancia, looking for food with food being scarce in the ocean and being very sick with an eye infection, decided to attempt to get food caught in netting floating around and became trapped. He was too weak at that point to get himself out. And now he and his pod have to try to make sure the  King doesn’t find out about this, as this will mean death to them all.

Panini the Human (Mer AU)

He took the job not knowing how weird and cutthroat it was and ended up with a stand. His role is to go around to get buyers or deal with buyers and convince them to buy. He tries to do his job regardless of how weird and shady it is, and is pretty good with it. He had to move from the city to a smaller town. And heard locals talking about how you could go to this certain cove and make an offering, and a mermaid would grant you a wish (or would take out someone you wanted). He thought it was bullshit until he caught sight of two people who didn’t exactly fit in at the market, checking out his gems. So he decided to see for himself, making an offering that was actually a trap meant to begin turning the mer to stone if they tried to fight or flee. He could reverse the effects of course once the mer complied. Unfortunately for him, the one that came was the mer who could counter his ability. And thanks to making a deal through that, he’s tied to this mer.

He’s noticed that mers seem to be fascinated with gems. Or shiny things. Well at least Farfalle and Illuso seem to be noticeably so. They also don’t seem to have any issue with resorting to drowning a human for an inconvenience-

(JJBA Mer AU/JoJo OC) Farfalle’s mer AU reference because it was sitting in my WIP pile for a while-

I can add another OC to the AU. As a treat. Farfalle is part of Risotto’s pod (King’s Assassins). But sort of by accident. Risotto sank a ship Farfalle was on, Farfalle discovering they were a mer because of that and Risotto being dumped with New Merperson. And they have a pretty potent ability. He can’t shake them off no matter how annoyed Prosciutto gets.

They’re playful, Narancia enjoys having them as a playmate. Risotto nor Prosciutto allow the two to be together alone because suddenly they’ll get messages from Farfalle saying they somehow wound up in the Indian Ocean??? Or was it near Australia. They’re not quite sure how they got there, they were both following a boat and then a plane and then a whale and then there was the neat shiny thing in the distance and-

They eventually befriend a human (Panini) before Narancia was discovered by Fugo. They like shiny things but Illuso keeps stealing them. They also like having an octo-mer tail as it’s helpful to grab things, but not as fast.

MeloGhia fans can have a crumb from me. As a treat. Tried a new method of drawing and mer AU Melone and Ghiaccio became the subject. Ghia probably telling Melone that an English scientist at work dared to say “Venice” or something. Or they thought Latin came from a country called Latina. Melone is taking advantage of his distraction to cuddle up.

When women…. When the women… when they’re mermaids……..

Insta mutual wanted to see more fem mer La Squadra (specifically Risotto but I needed to throw in a Prosciutto) so uh tada. I’m happy with Ris, Pro just gave me a hard time while the goddess beside her sat nicely. It’s been a year and a half last time I drew fem mer LS (link) and that was Ris and Melone. I feel like I’ve improved since then. Below the cut is the two without all the bells and whistles.

I think mermaids are a bit more cruel than their male counterparts which might be saying something with these two.
