Yes, I saw them recently on the AIC website!!! TRULY AWESOME! There's a dinosaur for TDPDH, a Rooster for Dirt, a heart for BGWTB and the three-legged dog (Sunshine) from the self-titled Alice in Chains album. Adorable little lovelies! 💕

5 days until christmas. For those that don’t know, it’s my favorite holiday and for the first time ever in my short life - I’m not celebrating it. No decorations. No tree. No presents. Nothing. The little girl in me has definitely cried a few times within this month as it slowly but surely set in for her. I’m still not trying to think about it.

My seasonal depression is nowhere near as bad as last years but still. I could be better. I wish I had a reason to be here right now. But the truth is, I don’t. My financial situation and just overall bad luck has destroyed everything I had to look forward to. So really, I’m just surviving at this point.

It definitely makes me cherish last year’s christmas a lot more though. We were pretty broke back then too but not as bad as we are now. I remember getting five presents which I think is the least amount that I’ve ever gotten. I didn’t mind. Being horribly spoiled as a child....I’ve thankfully grown up and appreciate stuff.

I got one LP vinyl, two aic shirts, one necklace and probably the best present out of the five - a signed TDPDH booklet from AiC. That was enough to make my year. I remember it being a pleasant day. We don’t get a lot of those. But everybody in the family was getting along great and we had a nice lunch.

I drank lots of wine till I was contently tipsy and joyful about everything. It was a chill, relaxing day. On Christmas Eve night, I remember sitting underneath all the lights we had put up in the lounge room with my mother. On the spur of the moment, she let me order Pizza Hut for dinner to have my favorite pizza which was the “breakfast” pizza - honey bacon with eggs and cheese.

Later on, we watched Home Alone 2: Lost In NY aka my favorite christmas movie all of time. It’s kinda been a tradition for me to watch it every year on eve. I remember feeling so warm and cosy like a child, towards the end - I peacefully began to doze off in the lazy boy chair. It was nice. A nice little moment.

It makes me sad that I now have to treat that day as if it’s any other day of the week. Just an ordinary day. Everybody in the neighbourhood is celebrating but us. We managed to get a small amount of turkey to eat on the day but sadly, I cannot drink due to my medication. Not a big meat eater in general tbh.

I don’t know. That little girl in me is still searching for a magic miracle. Because it will be a hard day for me. All social media will be alive with posts. Constant reminders. And there’s me. Trying to force a smile as if I’m okay with it all. 

That one day of guaranteed happiness that I always had to “save” the shitty year that I’ve endured and end it on a good note...it’s gone. What’s saving me now....

I'm actually not active for the same reason, I started college, and it's at night time. My internet time has become school time. I remember your face from that time you were so excited when you found an aic shirt, I think? I found some amazing people on this site, it will always have a place on my heart, and now, just like a long time before, this place makes me feel less alone
