Out for a paddle with grandson George yesterday, met this wonderful Northumberian fisherman lifting his pots. Not only did he say hello, but took time to show us his catch, young lobsters, codlings, velvet crabs, all of which were returned. He did catch a lobster of the right age and size for keeping. He also gave us a couple of nice fresh Codling to take with us. 60 years on the Northumberland coastline and still out working. Made me think that in our Social Media driven, 24hr News, instant gratification world, we laud, praise and adulate the wrong people in our world today.
