Hello aspiring clown owner!!! You asked in you're first post about good clown breeds and I am a die-hard teacup clown fan so I am here to recommend them to you! Teacup clowns of any variety are a favorite of mine and I especially recommend them for beginners because they're so small and therefore are able to more easily integrate into the balancing act that is the life of a new clown owner. Don't skimp on proper supplies and habitats though! Teacup clowns are small and do technically require less space but they're still clowns. I have found mine particularly enjoy their own smaller spaces to preen their ruffles and powder their faces as well as a big tent for performances and hijinks, though different breeds may need different facilities. I hope you find your new friend and good luck with your clown journey!
Thank you so much!! I will definitely be looking into teacup clowns more-- they seem like a good fit! And they're absolutely adorable from all the pictures I've seen of them!! Though I do have a cat, and I worry that if the clown is too small Hugo (the cat) might think that they're a new toy instead of a new buddy .... I do have the ability to keep Hugo out of a rather large room that I believe would have enough space for most clown breeds (it also has access to the fenced in backyard). Hugo is a really sweet, peaceful cat, but he does really love to play, so I worry that he might accidentally get too rough with something smaller than him. He grew up with other cats, so I know he wouldn't ever try to hunt any other pet, but, he's pretty big for a house cat (I think he might have a little bit of Maine Coon ancestry?) and I worry.
But thank you so much for telling me!!! You're an absolute delight my friend!!! And I'm so sorry I took so long to reply, I'm not very active on my phone, and I'm still getting used to the Tumblr platform

Good day! I’m in a bit of a predicament.. My neighbor got her first clown a week ago. She has to move and can’t find anywhere in her price range that will let her keep her clown. She decided to give me her clown.

This is Kelly!! Neither of us know her breed, but I think she’s got some teacup in her as she’s teeny! If anyone could give me any advice for taking care of her, that would be a huge help!

I got a picture of one of them! I know it's not perfectly clear, but these teacup clowns are surpisingly fast. If anyone recognizes the costume pattern or their general breed, please reach out to me. I hope I'll be able to catch them soon. (This one right here sounded like he was scratching my couch, even though he doesn't seem to have hands, or claws.)

I GOT
I GOT ANOTHER SILLY BOY!!!!!!!
I have named him Timothee
He was a stray my friend found and that we took to the vet, and I decided to keep him
Please give me your insight on this man!! Thank you!!
OH MY GOODNESS! what a spiffy little guy! Thanks for sending in this ask, it’s been far too long since I babbled about clowns :)
Based on his predominantly black and white color scheme I’d say he’s got some Pierrot ancestry, although because of his colorful facial markings and more circus-clown clothing style I would guess he’s still mostly party clown. (Or perhaps a mix of other traditional circus breeds.)
I don’t think he’s part mime, even though Pierrot and mime DNA can be expressed similarly, because mimes are notoriously difficult to crossbreed. On top of that, feral mimes and mime mixes are known for being generally antisocial and distrustful of humans. Feral mimes are hard to catch and even harder to befriend. (cross breeding mimes tends to lead to clowns with poor health, disagreeable attitudes, and shorter lifespans, even more reasons mime crosses are rarely bred.) From the way you speak about this lovely boy, I doubt you’ve had any of these issues with him, so again, that’s why I say he’s probably part Pierrot and not part mime.
If he vocalizes or plays a bit less than your other sillies, it would be a safe bet to assume that’s just him expressing his Pierrot nature and not a sign of anything bad. His diet should be pretty much the same as your other teacups, perhaps a tad more meat because of his Pierrot dna, but still mostly standard. Overall he looks to be a very healthy boy, nothing concerning or abnormal.
Good job taking him to the vet, I’m sure he’ll settle in with the others in no time! Teacups love teacups as you know, much love and happy clowning to Timothee!! :o)
