Tag Team Tournament 2025
Tumblr media
It's everyone's favorite time of year: Tag Team Tournament Hype Season! This year the Tag Team Tournament will take place from Sunday, July 27th - Saturday, August 2nd, so make sure to save the date and get started on your projects early!
Now as always, check out our Event Guide for the full rules and guidelines for submissions. We're not changing anything this year, but a refresher is always a good idea. Well, we're not changing the rules this year. We are making a BIG change to our line up.
After a tragic case of being in dead last place, our Mod Team made the decision to take Spandex Flex out of the running. In their place, we welcome back Pretty Punk, since our sever members declared Konette to be the best Super Fam ship during our super April Fool's Day fun.
This year, our 8 teams are:
Seamless Spin - Cassandra Cain x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
3's Company - Any Poly Ship
Rare Flair - Any Ship Without A Team
Lucky Shot - Roy Harper x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Art Couple - Damian Wayne x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Java Junkies - Tim Drake x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Book Design - Jason Todd x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Pretty Punk - Conner 'Kon-El' Kent x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
We are super excited for this year's Tag Team Tournament, and we hope that you're excited too! To help you get in the creative spirit, and to hopefully inspire you with ideas, @newdog14 assembled playlists for different genres of stories to help inspire you. There are also ship playlists which were made last year, and a Pretty Punk playlist coming next week. The genre playlists will be going up real soon too, as chosen by our server members. If you'd like to join in on that vote, send us an ask for an invite!
Speaking of things our server members voted on, we'll be releasing our prompt list early again this year, so make sure you check the blog each week to see if those have gone up with a playlist.
Many thanks to @newdog14, @nottesilhouette, and @izanae for their hard work in preparing this event. From brainstorming prompts to designing team logos to coding spreadsheets to suffering through the weirdest music videos ever, there's a lot of work that goes into an event this big! And thank you to everyone who has participated in this event, and to those who plan to participate this year. We could never pull this off without you!

Forget Generic Training - Cyberinfomines Prepares You Like an Insider
Tumblr media
Cyberinfomines delivers real-world, project-driven learning experiences designed to equip you with industry-relevant skills from day one.
Let’s be honest. Most training programs feel like they were made in a rush — for everyone and no one at the same time. You log in, watch a few videos, answer some templated questions, and walk away with a certificate. But when it’s time for an interview or your first job, you’re still staring at the screen thinking, “Wait, I don’t know how to actually do this.”
That’s where Cyberinfomines flips the script.
This isn’t some generic, copy-paste training program. This is insider-level prep designed for real-world success — from Day 1. Whether you’re stepping into tech for the first time or switching gears to something more hands-on and future-proof, Cyberinfomines doesn’t just “train” you.
It transforms you.
The Problem With Traditional Training Let’s start with what no one talks about.
The e-learning world is packed. Platforms are everywhere. Courses are everywhere. Certifications? Don’t even get us started.
But here’s the catch — most of them:
Teach in isolation (no real-world project context)
Skip the “why” behind the “how”
Don’t simulate job environments
Forget to teach you how to think like a pro
So you might know Java syntax, but not how it fits into a real application. Or you might understand Search Engine Optimization (SEO) basics but not how to run a successful campaign under budget pressure.
And let’s be brutally honest — companies don’t hire people just because they’ve “learned.” They hire people who can perform.
Welcome to Cyberinfomines: Where Training Meets Reality At Cyberinfomines, the training isn’t about creating course junkies.
It’s about creating industry insiders.
This means every course — from Java and Full Stack Developer to Digital Marketing and UI/UX Design — is built with actual roles, actual teams, and actual results in mind.
1. You Learn Like You’re Already on the Job The moment you join, you’re not treated like a student. You’re treated like a team member in training.
Your projects, your tasks, your goals — all are mapped to real business environments. For example:
In Java, you build microservices like a product team member.
In Digital Marketing, you create and manage live campaigns using Email Marketing, Content Marketing, Social Media Marketing, and Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising.
In UI/UX, you solve user flow problems for real client cases like Mobile Application Designing and Web Application Designing.
No fluff. No filler. Just real, outcome-based work from Day One.
2. Industry Mentors, Not Just Instructors At Cyberinfomines, every instructor is an industry mentor — not a slide reader.
They teach what can’t be Googled:
Real debugging
Handling stakeholders
Live pressure projects
Web Analytics & Data Analytics
Tech interview mindsets
3. Real Projects. Real Pressure. Real Growth. You’ll work on projects like:
Redesigning Existing Website & Mobile Applications
Building a Website Designing portfolio from scratch
Running an Influencer Marketing campaign
Testing Chatbots & Artificial Intelligence (AI) integrations
These are projects worthy of real resumes, not just certificates.

Tag Team Tournament 2024
Tumblr media
We're back for another year of good old fashioned fandom fun! This year the Tag Team Tournament will take place from Sunday, July 28th - Saturday, August 3rd, so make sure to save the date and get started on your projects early!
We've got some fun things planned this year, but we're also making some changes to how we're running the event this year! For the full rules and guidelines, check out our Event Guide Document, now newly revised for 2024! The short version is that we've changed some of our scoring to remove certain exploitable flaws that were exposed last year, clarified submission guidelines, added new ways to earn bonus points, and changed our team lineup!
Now, last year we had a very popular Shipping Bracket to determine who our eighth team would be, but this year we decided that we wanted out lead up event to better help you all prepare for this year's event. Also, @nottesilhouette asked really, really nicely for last year's runner up ship to get a chance in the Tournament, and how could we tell them no?
This year, our teams are:
Seamless Spin - Cassandra Cain x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
3's Company - Any Poly Ship
Rare Flair - Any Ship Without A Team
Lucky Shot - Roy Harper x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Spandex Flex - Dick Grayson x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Art Couple - Damian Wayne x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Java Junkies - Tim Drake x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Book Design - Jason Todd x Marinette Dupain-Cheng
We are super excited for this year's Tag Team Tournament, and we hope that you're excited too! To help you get in the creative spirit, and to hopefully inspire you with ideas, @newdog14 assembled playlists for each of our teams, which will be published one by one over the next few months. She got the idea for this after assisting with this year's Jasonette July Calendar Playlist, organized by @mochegato & @izanae, which we also encourage you to participate in.
Oh, and one more thing. We have heard that for some folks, particularly those who are responsible for small humans, the summertime is apparently not filled with an abundance for free time. So we thought we'd go ahead and give you all a little more to go on for your prep work this year, and as such we'll be publishing all of our prompts early this year, so be sure to keep an eye on our blog on Sundays going forward.
Many thanks to @newdog14, @nottesilhouette, and @izanae for their hard work in preparing this event. From brainstorming prompts to designing team logos to coding spreadsheets to tolerating certain people's tyrannical playlist standards, there's a lot of work that goes into an event this big! And thank you to everyone who has participated in this event, and to those who plan to participate this year. We could never pull this off without you!

"THE FUTURE KICK YOUR ASS"
Christmas is finally here, and like many others, I’ve been busy celebrating the holidays with friends and folks I consider family, hence why this update is being filed later than usual I’m afraid.
Which means by the time most of you have read this, it’ll be too late to head on over to the latest King of Games’s holiday pop-up shop. Though considering how Hedgehog Books & Gallery is a bit out of reach for most folk, thankfully miki800 snapped took some pics…
Tumblr media
The featured item this year was their new sweatshirt, inspired by the original Super Famicom packaging…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though if given the chance, I probably would have picked up the pin set…
Tumblr media
Actually, what I really wish I could get my hands on is this all-purpose King of Games shirt…
Tumblr media
As well as a bag of their coffee (I’ve quite the java junkie)…
Tumblr media
Right now, some folk are doing some last-minute holiday shopping, and miki800 is definitely the place to get idea, despite the fact that at this point, it’s more or less impossible to obtain the following attire.
Then again, the following Sega candy cab shirt is making its debut at Comiket at the end of the month, so you have just enough time before Christmas to book those flights and hotel rooms…
Tumblr media
Hardcore Chocolate is doing shirts based on SNK! I picked up a few of their 80s American wrestling themed tees when I was in Japan ten years ago and have been dying to get something new from them. Like…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, given that it’s also winter, perhaps t-shirts might may cut it. So for those wanting something warmer, we’ve got a new batch of PaRappa sweatshirts and hoodies…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry, but I’m so over gaudy Christmas sweaters. Though that being said, I really dig this one that’s Space Invaders themed. Maybe because it’s actually super stylish?
Tumblr media
Yet what I really want is this Space Invaders jacket that was recently posted on Twitter…
Tumblr media
Though the next time I’m in Japan, which is hopefully soon, my priority is to track down this Gamest jacket (via peazy86)
Tumblr media
Perhaps a full on track suit is something I should explore? This illustration certainly has given me some ideas (via thewonderjar)…
Tumblr media
And speaking of illustrations of a woman from behind who clearly enjoys a good game, here’s a really nice piece from amidstsilence…
Tumblr media
Back to belated holiday gift ideas, something that’s finally coming out is 8 BIT MUSIC POWER FINAL; it’s publication date is on the 25th and most importers are shipping it in early January…
Tumblr media
Speaking of music, remember that analog synth take on The Link To The Past’s soundtrack that I haven’t been too keen on? Well, for those did enjoy it, originalsoundversion reports that one can nab a physical version on cassette!
Tumblr media
Though I can’t help mention the Luminist yet again, whose analog synth take on Super Metroid continues to progress quite nicely, but he doesn’t just do video game covers! The guy does original pieces as well, like…
youtube
Back to game music on tape, I wouldn’t mind finding out what else is on this (via charliecoffin)…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you may have heard, there’s a brand new game cartridge being assembled for the Sega Genesis (provided it makes its Kickstarter goal and if everything else falls into place)…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
hibachicandy recently shared some beauty shots of fight sticks that they’ve put together…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And speaking of shmups, here we see a configuration for Radiant Silvergun that you don’t see very often (via aaronkraten)…
Tumblr media
And sticking with shmups the Tumblr, as well as RS, I’d love to get my hands on this superplay VHS tape…
Tumblr media
Plus this DoDoDonPachi DaiOuJou superplay DVD disc…
Tumblr media
Here’s a Gradius illustration that’s totally new to me (and I’d like that I’ve seen every last bit of officially imagery, provided that’s what it is), so perhaps it’s new to you as well?
Tumblr media
No R-Type Final, thank YOU…
Tumblr media
I also wouldn’t mind getting my hands on this R-Type model…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since I’m fantasy shopping, please include this Panzer Dragoon model as well please (via galaxynextdoor)…
Tumblr media
Please enjoy this classic commercial for the Famicom version of Xevious starring a member of Yellow Magical Orchestra…
youtube
Which animated gif starring the Mega Drive do you prefer? This one (via nctryzob)…
Tumblr media
Or this one (via contac)…
Tumblr media
And speaking of Mega Drives that can transform (via techturd)…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
videogamesdensetsu recently posted some imagery associated with the game Last Bronx that I easily recognized, along the name of the artist, one that I’m very unfamiliar with! Apparently it’s Yoshitsugu Satō and “Little is known about him. It seems that he worked as a graphic and character designer at Sega AM3 then left the company sometimes around 1999”...
Tumblr media
I also wonder who’s responsible for the artwork on the box for this Legend of Zelda board game (via mondo80s90spictorama)…
Tumblr media
Thankfully I know who did this neat Metroid illustration; it’s droolingdemon…
Tumblr media
tinsil explains: “when you’re a super hot super famous intergalactic bounty hunter with an image to maintain but also you were raised in isolation by birds and so you don’t know how to talk to girls”...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, here we have the ladies of Street Fighter doing what ladies do, which is train for the next big fight (via grrlmusic)…
Tumblr media
Whereas the the boys of just like to bro-out (via hichamkiy)…
Tumblr media
Though the absolute best cover to Club Capcom is obviously this one…
Tumblr media
Which other couple do you prefer; Mario & Pauline, from the commercial for Donkey Kong cereal (via suppermariobroth)…
Tumblr media
Or Sonic & Madonna, or at least a woman that resembles the pop singer, who was supposed to be a love interest once upon a time (via sonicthehedgeblog)…
Tumblr media
Hey it’s Sonic as a mech, being controlled by Sonic (via sufami64)…
Tumblr media
And it’s Sonic as a human being (via sonicthehedgeblog once again)…
Tumblr media
Naturally, Sonic the Human has fan art; in this case, courtesy of drawloverlala…
Tumblr media
As does Alex Kid (via segamastersystem)…
Tumblr media
Moving from line art to pixel; here’s a wonderful piece by eto2d…
Tumblr media
And here’s the Fresh Prince on the move (via it8bit)…
Tumblr media
Longtime friend of Attract Mode, Kyle Fewell did this piece entirely on his Note 8!
Tumblr media
Yup, that’s Moebius alright, who did the box art for the Matra & Hachette Alice personal computer, which was a French TRS-80 clone (via tvgame)…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No idea who did the following cover, but it’s a safe bet that whomever was behind the iron curtain at the time (via c86)…
Tumblr media
Kinda/sorta speaking of the iron curtain, here we have Tetris being played at some mall in Japan, where they know how to celebrate Christmas proper...
youtube
Whereas I celebrate every Xmas with a few rounds of Christmas NiGHTS...
Tumblr media
Though here we have Sonic Team’s more famous creation, also high above the ground (via sonicthehedgeblog, once more)…
Tumblr media
But this time next year, I might have another Christmas themed game for my Saturn, which I had no idea existed until I saw @kingmonkey25’s tweet about it…
Tumblr media
As for other recent Santa sightings in games, tvgame is back with the observation: “Plotting mischief in Street Fighter III”
Tumblr media
Finally, here’s a video that explores all the different takes on Christmas music in video game music…
youtube
And that’s not all! Cuz it’s the holiday, and I finally have some down time, will be passing a second massive round-up of game culture nonsense tomorrow! Until then…
Don’t forget: Attract Mode is now on Medium! There you can subscribe to keep up to date, as well as enjoy some “best of” content you might have missed the first time around, plus be spared of the technical issues that’s starting to overtake Tumblr.

Kings trade Bishop to Dallas? Um, what? How did Bishop even end up in LA? When did he leave Tampa? I thought he was like their star goalie or something.
Goes to show you how little I’ve been following hockey this past year (I blame it on the junky NHL website that seems like some intern decided it was better to use a lot of Java or Flash whatever instead of making the site useful and accessible like it used to be. I’ll never get over that.) But at least I finally got the app so I can receive sometimes useful news like this, and lots of annoying daily “Who is the greatnest NHL team” and vote for “Kraft Hockeyville” or whatever notifications.

Well, I don't think the ideal ending (whether you are Rogan, Literati, Java Junkie, or are obsessed with Miss Pattie or something) for any fans of the show is what we got in AYITL. I think the ending was meant to sway in Jess's favor, but from what I've seen Lit fans were the most pissed off of all. Most of them said that they thought it was cruel that Jess would be in the position of having to raise Rory's child with Logan.
The big question mark left at the end of AYITL is whether Logan is too devoted to his fiance and his way of life to leave them behind for Rory and his offspring, and whether Rory would want him to. AYITL was too focused on showing this glamorous, doomed romance to actually do the reasonable thing and have Logan and Rory discuss their situation (and any alternatives to it) whatsoever. BECAUSE EVERYONE IS RESIGNED TO THEIR FATE NO MATTER WHAT.
Zzzzzz. Fatalism is so boring.
In the same vein, I don't think Jess is spending every waking hour thinking about Rory. He still cares about her and she is a family member, so he went to check up on her. He may still have some lingering feelings and may be interested in working with her professionally, but if Rory doesn't return those feelings I'm sure he will be fine and they can remain friends.
For me, the ideal end to this situation is that Rory picks a team romantically and remains friends with the other person. I think that's possible and they're all capable of that.
Some fans ideal ending to Gilmore Girls is for Logan to be barely or not at all in his child’s life. Even though Rory would like for him to be there more. It’s not to have Rory pick Jess even with Logan in the picture. They want the child to not know her/his dad so they will call Jess Dad.😔
That’s not the dynamic Rory and Logan have. It’s the dynamic Lorelai, Chris and Rory have. Luke wasn’t even in the picture until Rory was 10 or 11 and that was as diner owner/townie. Rory and Jess have an even less dynamic. Jess comes, tells Rory how he sees things and leaves.
Maybe I should be petty and have my ideal ending as Jess comes to visit and sees Rory, Logan and their child running around laughing and enjoying their time together. That is their dynamic and it will translate to co-parenting the child together. Even if they aren’t a couple. And of course, Jess will look in wistfully and leave. Or he will ask Rory about her relationship with Logan. And you know what Rory will say? They are happy in their everyday. It’s only when they have to deal with nosy tell it like it is family members that they have issues…😊 She’ll, of course, be talking about Logan’s family but it will be a wink to Jess’s fans.

Professionals dealing with a great deal of data every day might discover it difficult to carry huge amounts of information around and may loose a lot of valuable data while doing so. Movie enthusiasts might find that the quality of a basic DVD is not good enough. A great deal of issues and inadequacies take place even in today's digital world.

When you are cruising you have a destination. Maybe we shall call it a short-term objective. It may be a navigational mark you go to before you set course to the next mark. For all the GPS junkies out there we would call it a method point. My point being here, is that you have to get to that position before you can head on the next leg of the journey. There are actions you have to take in order for you to accomplish that goal.

6 Foods That Can Make You Happier
By Cynthia Sass, MPH, RD
I’m a happiness research junkie. I love reading about simple things we can do to elevate mood and boost contentment. Mindfulness meditation, adequate sleep, laughing, volunteering, and spending time with pets (as well as with happy people) all help. And believe it or not, science shows you can also eat your way happier!
If you’re in need of a little more glee, here are six research-backed “better mood foods” to build into your eating repertoire.
Probiotic-rich foods
In a recent Dutch study, 20 healthy volunteers received either a probiotic supplement or a placebo for four weeks. Those who received the real deal showed a significantly reduced reactivity to sad mood, which was largely due to a reduction in aggressive thoughts and rumination (you know, when you over-think or obsess on the negative). The conclusion: the type and amount of bacteria in your digestive tract impacts your mood. Scientists even have a name for it: the gut-brain axis, or the communication highway between the GI tract and the brain, and it’s fascinating.
In an animal a study conducted at McMaster University in Ontario, gut bacteria from mice with different personalities were swapped. Fearless mice became timid after receiving gut bacteria from anxious counterparts, and the reverse was also true — fearful rodents became more expressive and less apprehensive. The researchers also found that aggressive mice became calm when scientists changed their gut microbes by health-ing up their diets. All of this means that, for all intents and purposes, your gut bacteria can literally be mind-altering. To reap the benefits, stock up on probiotic-rich fermented foods, including kimchi, sauerkraut and kefir, or consider popping a probiotic supplement.
Fruits and veggies
In a study published in the British Journal of Health Psychology, nearly 300 young adults kept daily food journals for three consecutive weeks, in addition to completing psychological and mood-related ratings. Researchers found that a higher intake of produce resulted in more energy, calm and a greater sense of happiness. They also noted that the effects were seen not only on the days more veggies and fruits were consumed, but also throughout the following day. Another study, published in the journal Social Indicators Research, which tracked 80,000 adults, found that consuming a higher amount of produce boosted mental well-being, with the magic number for happiness being seven daily servings. To use produce to elevate your mood, choose fruits and veggies first and build each meal around them. For tips on how, check out my previous posts 5 Veggies That Make Perfect Pasta Alternatives and 5 Reasons to Eat More Fruit.
Coffee
Coffee drinkers can be thought of as curmudgeons, but research has actually linked regular java consumption to positivity. In one study, researchers found that coffee consumed in the morning was linked to energy, kindness and pleasure. Coffee enjoyed socially was tied to affection, friendship, satisfaction, and good nature; and when sipped leisurely, cups of Joe induced calm, happiness and tranquility. Another study, published in the JAMA Internal Medicine, found that women who drank two to three cups of coffee a day were 15 percent less likely to develop depression over a 10-year span, compared to those who consumed one cup or less each day. Now that doesn’t mean a pot a day is a recipe for bliss, but if you enjoy coffee there are other health benefits to making it a daily habit. Check out my previous posts 6 Reasons to Keep Loving Coffee and 5 Reasons to Drink Coffee Before a Workout.
Dark chocolate
Even thinking about dark chocolate brings a smile to my face, but research backs its happiness benefits. The antioxidants in dark chocolate can trigger the walls of your blood vessels to relax, lowering blood pressure and improving circulation. That may be why one study found that eating about an ounce and a half of dark chocolate daily for two weeks reduced levels of stress hormones in people who rated themselves as highly stressed. Dark chocolate also contains magnesium, a mineral that has been shown to help alleviate PMS symptoms, including fatigue, depression and irritability. Finally, dark chocolate’s unique natural substances trigger a sense of euphoria that’s similar in to the feeling of being in love! For more check out my 5 Healthy Ways to Eat More Chocolate.
Mushrooms
I adore mushrooms. In a previous post I wrote about five surprising benefits of this underrated superfood, and due to their unique nutrients, mood regulation may be a sixth. Shrooms are rich in selenium and research has linked a deficiency of this mineral (which doubles as an antioxidant) to a higher risk of depression, anxiety and fatigue. Mushrooms are also the only plant source of natural vitamin D, a key nutrient of us aren’t getting enough of. In a study of people with seasonal affective disorder, which affects 11 million Americans, scientists found that those who upped their vitamin D intake experienced an enhanced mood. To bolster your intake, incorporate mushrooms into omelets or quiche at breakfast, salads at lunch and sauté, grill, or oven roast them at dinner.
Green tea
A Japanese study, conducted with more than 40,000 people, found that levels of psychological stress were 20 percent lower in people who drank five or more cups of green tea per day compared to those who drank less than one. The results held true even after other factors were accounted for, including age, sex, medical history, body mass index, alcohol consumption, cigarette smoking and diet. Reach for green tea as a beverage, or incorporate loose tea leaves or brewed green tea into cooking. It’s fantastic in smoothies, marinades, soups and sauces. For info about a currently trendy form of green tea, check out my previous post 7 Things You Should Know About Matcha.
