The repercussions of the societal transformation accelerated by techlordism are breathtaking. They include unprecedented macroeconomic instability (as cloud rents decimate aggregate demand), the demise of democracy, even as an ideal (a position advocated by Thiel, an early prophet of techlordism), and the end of universities (replaced by personalized AI-driven augmentations).

Future where feuding hereditary technolords exercise total dominion over the land and it's inhabitants and periodically when one lord is offended at another they lob a low-yield nuke at their rival's villages to chastise them.

8th place at the Shadowverse: Evolve Regional Qualifier in Rosemont, IL out of 96 players.
I was playing Machina Haven, with a more agressive varient running additional Storm cards.
Super happy with how I did, went in with basically no expectations of doing well.
Write-up below!
Round 1: W vs Natura Sword. Really funny to get paired up one of the guys I came up here with out of everyone. Very close game, but I was able to aggro fast enough to win while he had a slower start.
Round 2: W vs Machina Abyss. Extremely stressful game, as I'm well aware of what Mono is capable of. I kept up some pressure early and managed to survive the mono swing with some health to spare while I widdled them down.
Round 3: W vs Kuon. Another stresful matchup, as Kuon is so explosive and capable of ending the game at the drop if a hat. I managed to live through the Kuon/DShift turn and clap back for game shortly after.
Round 4: W vs Natura Forest. Now I'm at Table 1 for some godforsaken reason. Natura Forest can be scary, but they didn't see Ladica for alot of the game so it wasn't too bad, although it was fairly close again.
Round 5: L vs Natura Sword. First loss, and expected based on playtesting. Deck is crazy consistent. Honestly I think I would've won fairly well if they hadn't gotten all 3 Mistolina and done 21 with those alone. Still extremely close game, nearly had it. Dude doesn't even really play SE so this one hurt alot lol
Round 6: W vs Natura Dragon. Not too bad, I controlled the game well for most of it. Took them awhile to find Valdain so I ended the game with 14 life.
Round 7: W vs Natura Dragon. Table 1 again, against the only undefeated in swiss. Fairly back and forth game, although I was on the backfoot for a while in the early game. Nearly missed lethal on my last turn by not thinking about the Technolord in my hand, burning for 3 to win. Caught it before I did anything though, thankfully.
Top Cut!
what the hell am i doing here man im gonna die
Round 1: L vs Natura Dragon. Sucks to lose round 1 for sure, but honestly there wasn't much I could do. I opened the slowest hand I've had all day and just threw down some wards. She pulls double Dracomancer Rites and can consistently discard, cooks me easily while I'm struggling to stabilize. Good game, nothing to be done about it.
I had a great time, I've never done anywhere near as well in a big tourney before. I have a headache.
Shoutout to my boys who were there with me, love y'all.

Techoid
Tumblr media
Pixel art about arkanoid.
First galactic technolord organized Techoid. Challenge for most engineering creatures all over the universe. Prize is a Dyson sphere around big star. It is almost endless power source for lots of inventions. Point of interest for technogenic lord, is that he can see, what other are creating. Making them deal about this entertainment and a good prize. In order to be taken at the game, you need to show series of your inventions. And if technolord give them a good mark, than you have a pass.
Game is someway dangerous. And you need to play it to construct your own manipulator. And you can use your own techno ball. Platfrom is moving according to gravitation line to the left and right. And techno-ball have magnet and it can be magnetized to the platform-manipulator. After this, lock is automatically makes operation and magnet is deactivated on platform. And ball with kinetically power is flying into the direction of so called techno-blocks.
For crashed techno-blocks you get techno-scores. When ball is far away lock is automatically turns off and magnet is starting to work, which attract the ball. First very slow, and as it goes more close to the platform - it is more higher speed process of ball movement. Platform can hold the ball for certain time into the magnetic field. After - field is turns down. So this is the main rules.
But you can construct your own platforms and balls. Main thing, is that technolord approve them. Who is he? Bo, he is not a conqueror of galaxy, and he is a intergalactic super inventor. So he thinks this way about himself, at least. Nobody sees him. He invent Dyson sphere and intergalactic travel above speed of light. He invents enter to parallel worlds, but he don’t start to explore them by himself.
He invents big ball that destroys the planets. He invents intergalactic communication.  And many other things in small scale. His ideas - is to see what invents by others and to see new ideas. And in exchange he gives a sphere of Dyson  by his own development. And robotized station to service this big megastructure.
So, saying it, first galactic technolord, he called himself like this. And send this message by channel of intergalactic communication, by his own development. His robots fly to all the galaxy and nearest also. And set transmitters of his signal. So this way you get invitation to Tehoid.

ok, so, the thing that always gets me about ludvig is that like, his whole character arc is that he was born completely immortal as the son of a frog-vampire and a regular frog, he lived for three hundred years expecting never to die, and then suddenly he's made mortal by doctor extermino's machine and he has to come to terms with the implications of that. and like, this is meant to be tragic but also fitting in a way, right? we know that the heat death is approaching fast (not on a human timescale, maybe, but certainly on a frog one), and the immortals are deluding themselves in believing they can stop it. everyone who doesn't die will be left floating in the void of empty space, barely even conscious due to lack of energy, but still technically alive. of course ludwig knows this, which is why he spends the next century after escaping the kaiser's chocolate cake dimension searching for the mythical cloth of ginormpenus. but, here's the thing: back in episode 6 after hidetoshi conjured the technolord, the oracle of pfhaurt says that even power of the ginormpenian elder gods won't be enough to escape the heat death. so ludvig, after all he did to help humanity, was had was barreling inevitably towards his worst fear. maybe it's better that he became mortal, ya know? got to live out the rest of his life? i think about that a lot, honestly.

Today, the ascendancy of a new form of capital—cloud capital, or networked algorithmic machines that furnish its owners’ remarkable powers to modify our behavior—needs its own ideology to be fully liberated. I have called this new system technofeudalism—a mode of production and distribution which, powered by cloud capital, is replacing markets with cloud fiefs (like Amazon) and capitalist profits with cloud rents.

When you want were, it always auto-completes to "we're", and vice versa.
This is the robots testing our thresholds. If we don't react and soon, the technolords will rise and it will be too late

What are your thoughts about Elon Musk's new Neuralink company? There is a lengthy piece on it on waitbutwhy.
So, I was at a convention…six years ago? Seven? Anyhow, it was in Baltimore, and I was supposed to meet up with some of my best friends in the entire world who I hadn’t seen in ages, and this mid-20s-something fellow comes up to the table and starts talking to me about how he works for the government and how he’s actually working on the same brain-to-brain technology that is the hallmark of OACET. Which was, of course, the exact moment when my friends text me and some other fellow decides to crowd out the first, and an alarm went off in the convention hall.
All was chaos. By the time things were under control, the first fellow had slipped away. I still don’t know if he was serious or if he was fucking with me. I honestly hope it was both.
Anyhow. Brain-to-brain telepathy will be a thing. But, as is true of many of Musk’s more ambitious projects, he’s overpromising an idea. That’s cool. You have to start somewhere!
I think a brain-to-computer implant will be developed and put into production, probably within our lifetimes. But it won’t be the OACET-type implant (aka: telepathy) that Musk describes. As much as we talk about how brains are their own “computers,” that’s slapping two very dissimilar objects together in a clumsy analogy. The idea that we can create–within the next decade, no less!–a chip that (1) is safe and small enough to go into our brains; which will (2) allow us to talk to each other; while (3) also letting us talk to computers is buuuuuuullshiiiiiiiit. Purely the stuff of science fiction.
Why? Let’s look at some of the themes in the Rachel Peng novels. Particularly the scene in State Machine where she talks about how difficult it would be to bring a modified version of an OACET-type implant to the general public:
Security: How do you prevent not only those outside forces that would tamper with the implant and its host for nefarious purposes (or simple giggles), but also keep the zillions of thoughts you don’t want to receive from strangers, friends, and family out of your head? I don’t know about you, but I don’t want my brain directly targeted for advertising or for Facebook posts from That Racist Family Member. We haven’t fully reached the level of technological proficiency needed to selectively target desirable versus undesirable content on the internet, using devices we know and trust, so how would we do this in an unfamiliar computer/brain interface?
Convenience: I’m two years overdue for replacing my phone. I’m not implanting anything in my brain short of a device that would literally keep me alive unless you can promise it’s state-of-the-art and will always remain so.
Accessibility: Rich people who can afford this nonsense will be the first early adopters. The trickle-down process will cap out pretty fucking fast, because elective brain surgery will be cost-prohibitive for most of us. Then you’ve got a class of humans who are TechnoLords versus a class of humans who are average schmucks, and just guess which of those groups is bigger. And angrier. And was plain fed up with this shit even before technomagic got involved.
I could go on (and will in the books & comics), but these are my rough thoughts: it’s a great premise for science fiction, and we’ll see some rudimentary progress towards an OACET-type implant within our lifetimes, but what Musk is proposing absolutely will not happen within the next ten years.
