As Ace Week come to a close I put together a lil something something for Techpunk.

The solarpunk aesthetic is an art movement/genre of fiction which aims to give a view of what the world would be like if technology was used with nature kept in mind. While the concept of technology in balance with nature is quite broad, the key ideas revolve around connections to the earth and other people through culture, renewable energy, and restarting civilization. As the Solarpunk Manifesto says “The ‘punk' in Solarpunk is about rebellion, counterculture, post-capitalism, decolonialism and enthusiasm. It is about going in a different direction than the mainstream, which is increasingly going in a scary direction.”

Where does the name solarpunk come from? At first glance, you would assume it comes from renewable energy, mainly solar energy, and you would be half right. Solarpunk gets its name from plants and the way they’re able to use the sun as energy, which inspires us to create technology that does the same. Solarpunk focuses on the ways today’s technology restricts and destroys, highlighting features of human life that are intertwined with technology today but can be separated with time (culture, music, crafts, etc…)

Solarpunk as a movement sparked because of climate change, overpopulation, and the hope those things began to take away. The movement focuses on making our own clothes, tech, food, and anything else you can think of, which makes teamwork very important. Solarpunk offers solutions to today’s problems that could be used to build our world again from the ground up rather than just warning us that the way the world is going is bad with no ideas on how to fix that.

Solarpunk is all about having a sustainable civilization where architecture and daily life does not push out nature, but strives to live with it. Houses, cafes, businesses, skyscrapers would all be built with gardens or some kind of vegetation growing on its walls or roofs. By isolating human cities to small and compact areas, we can both have a productive civilization and let nature reclaim the land we took.

Visuals of the solarpunk aesthetic include some aspects of other techpunk aesthetics such as cyberpunk and steampunk, but solarpunk aims to make the technologies existing in those aesthetics compatible with nature running them on more sustainable energy. Solarpunk is also generally sleeker and more elegant than those other aesthetics due to its architecture and use of whites, browns and greens.

New Story Idea Yall

Okay so got inspired by Ranboo's tumblr account posting about Angel and Demon R800 and now im working on an idea for a story with them both plus R800 themselves in a futuristic late stage capitalistic techpunk neon city which is about to be ground zero for a siege by the Angels and Demons because its a "strategic" foothold on the planet and im just letting yall know that I am officially Going To Write It im just plotting out the characters, settings, world building and plot :P

For no particular reason: An unorganized collection of thoughts and incidents today March 27th from a stoned ADHD person.

Decided to make a Tumblr post while overthinking listening to jazz on Pandora, And ended up deleting the post by accident cause I forgot tags.

Techpunk on Spotify is wild.

Somehow managed to be more productive today while struggling to think straight, than had been in the last three months.

Realized Ive been like this since I caught COVID in January and my doc said things post COVID return to "normal" around 2-3 months.

It's over three months now and I've been feeling better the last few days.

Quality of life things are really worth investing time into. Cook your food instead of microwaving it if you can. On a related note, Country fried steak with country vegetables and gravy, Is stupid easy to make. Even for ADHD. You can literally get distracted during every part of the process and overcorrect every time and it still turns out fine.

How I abused the poor country fried steak meal:

Put too much water in vegetables and forgot to cover them.

Over thought about how I was making the gravy. Added more water than was necessary before it thickened cause I didn't think there would be enough.

Added more gravy mix but not more water.

Steaks had already been finished cooking by the point i was starting the sides.

Cooked the now 4 bags of gravy, with only a little more than what's recommended for 2-3 bags, for around 30 minutes on low.

When I say I overwatered the veggies? I put three times the suggested water to boil with the bag of FROZEN veggies.

Ended up forgetting about everything multiple times because I was also making sweet tea. Vanilla sugar cookie with cinnamon. A desert tea.

Gravy is like. Ultra thick and unseasoned cause, high still one of the best things I've ever tasted.

Update: Things I'm hyper focusing on or overthinking about this week:

Terraria's progression system is underrated. Confusing but underrated. I'm having a lot of fun going through blind in 2024

Cookie clicker.

Loose leaf tea.

Cooking.

Whether or not I have a predisposition to addiction due to a familiar connection.

Whether or not me feeling good and productive today was from finally feeling back to normal after COVID, because I took my ADHD meds, being high, Or some combination of the two.

Terraria has a drunk worldgen seed that Is literally everything I've ever wanted from terraria worldgen wise. All the ores, both corruption and crimson, And a laundry list of other things.
