Green Lantern waiting for the rain to pass by; Weather delays are just as unwelcomed by Coasterdroids as they are by park guests!
Though Coasterdroids can act independent of their coaster’s operational staus, a Coasterdroid cannot exist without their coaster. While a “rain out” usually only lasts a day or two, long-term downtime (especially if the reason is unspecified) can prove detrimental to a Coasterdroid’s well-being.

Green Lantern booked a flight to Louisville as soon as she heard the news. Normally, the yearly visit to old home park was something she looked forward to— but not this time.
The announcement was quiet, perhaps deliberately so; a mere footnote in an email sent to season passholders. Their page on the website deleted, their spot on the map replaced with grass. What was claimed to be a “difficult goodbye” felt effortless on Kentucky Kingdom’s part.
Green Lantern had a feeling T3 didn’t have much time left, especially after Herschend bought the park. A prototype of a now-outdated model, it gained infamy for rough and painful ride experience. Even when the park ordered a new set of trains, it didn’t do much to boost the ride’s reputation. T3 knew they weren’t well liked, but they didn’t care (or at least appeared not to).
Green Lantern found T3 sitting on a bench, staring up at the sky.
“Guess they finally got tired of me”.
As Green Lantern got closer, she could hear their haggard breaths. “You didn’t sound like this over the phone”. “Well, I had only found about my impending death that day. Took a few days, but my body’s starting to give up. I don’t think I can get off this bench on my own, even”. “I’ll handle that”. Green Lantern sat down next to T3, helping them adjust so that they could look at her.
“This isn’t the first time this has happened”. “What?” “I had a cousin down in Australia. Arkham Asylum. KumbaK made them new trains too. One could say that the shutdowns did ‘em in, but I know it was those trains. I can feel it”. T3 winces as pain shoots up their leg. “Because the same things’ happened to me. The fatigue. The pains. The constant technical issues. It’s all because of those damn trains”.
“So they were tearing your coaster apart”. “Afraid so”.
Green Latern felt defeated. As a Coasterdroid, you had to put trust in your park to keep your coaster running as well as it can— but trust is all you get. She began reflecting on her own situation; her was a once-moved, outdated model at a park full of B&Ms.
“I know I’ve made peace with being at Great Adventure and all, but…my coaster is your coaster for that park. Only a matter of time before they get tired of it too”.
“Hey, I’m just glad I was able to cheat death once— not a lot of Coasterdroids can say they watched their park get abandoned, rot away, and come back”.
“I guess you can look at it that way”.
“Yeah, and wherever I end up, I’ll be raising hell either way! Not sure how “bad” it is to be an unpopular coaster, but whoever’s with me is gonna know what real terror is like!”
Green Lantern lets out a small laugh; “Don’t tell Thunder Run, or they’ll be lecturing you as they’re reading their eulogy”.
T3 laughs; “Oh, they totally would!”
Green Lantern spends a few more days with her old park mates, but she has to return to Great Adventure eventually. “Don’t worry about us”, Thunder Run tells her. “We’ll make sure T3’s last days are something they’ll never forget”.
Green Latern isn’t normally the one for hugs, but she pulls T3 in for one knowng that this might be the last time she’ll speak to them. “I’ll always be greatful that I got to call you my friend. Take it easy, okay?” T3 smiles. “You know I won’t”. “I know, I know”.
“But I’m glad to have had a friend like you too”.
The morning after she returned Great Adventure, Green Lantern gazed upon her coaster. With the park relatively limited on space, there were only a few places where a major ride could be placed without any ride removals. Green Lantern knew of her coaster’s reputation, and with Medusa in the same park, there was no chance of a floorless conversion.
Still, Green Lantern knew there was time for her to enjoy what life she had left.
