So canonically my coaster personifications tend to avoid interacting with humans bcs there would be major ramifications to revealing their existence. They are also naturally un-detectable by humans due to their invisibility powers, which are âactiveâ by default. If they wanted to interact with a human, they have to âdeactivateâ it first.
That being saidâŠimagine âNo One Mourns the Wickedâ, but the residents of Munchkinland are nameless/faceless Six Flags Corporate business people and Nitro is Glinda, forced to put on a happy face as they wonât understand (or more accurately, care) why sheâs so upset that the Wicked Witch (Ka) is deadâŠ

âOkay Sandy,â they thought. âWaveâs almost ready to be caughtâ.
Sandy pushed themselves up onto their surfboard, their mind dead-set on a goal. Faintly, they could hear the others give some commentary;
âTheyâre getting ready to stand..â
âThe wave is forming!â
âI believe in you, Sandy!â
Finally standing up on their surfboard, Sandy glared confidently at the wave.
The surging carried them upwardâŠ.for all of two seconds, as it didnât take long for Sandy to lose their balance.
Sandy tried reaching out for their surfboard as it quickly slipped away from their feet, only to be consumed by the waves crashing around them.
Tumbling through the water, Sandyâs feet dragged across the bottom of the pool as they tried to push themselves to the surface. Fortunately, the current was pushing them closer to the shallow end of the pool.
Sandy ducked under the diminishing wave, placing their feet firmly on the ground.
âGo!â
Like a dolphin, Sandy shot out of the water, taking a well-needed gasp of air. They crashed back down to the surface back-first, kicking their feet to propel themselves forward.
âThere they are!â
âIâll get Sandyâs boardâ.
âYeah, theyâre not gonna give up after one failed attempt!â
With the wave-controlling program close to resetting, the water had grown calmâ and so did Sandy, who let it guide them to the entrance.
Slowly but surely, Sandy had come to a stop, lying there as the water receded.
Most people would get up at that point, but Sandy was content to remain there.
The tide is rolling in.
It only reaches up to my feet, at first.
But with every wave, it gets closer.
The water is cold, but not frigid.
ItâsâŠRefreshing.
Slowly, the water begins to surround me.
It gets to the point where my head is just above the water.
The next wave is approaching.
Itâll definitely pull me underwater if I donât get up.
But Iâm still lying there.
Sandy closed their eyes, smiling as water washed over their face.
Bliss.
After a few seconds, Sandy sat up; âWoooo! I mightâve wiped out, but I had a ton of fun with it!â
Slime Streak quickly joined them in the pool, boogie-board in her hand; âYou still were awesome!â
âI know, right?â
Shredder approached them, holding Sandyâs surfboard. âReady for round two?â
âOf course!â
âJust make sure you have your board leash tightened this time, okay?â, Timmy reminded.
âOh yeahâŠprobably makes it easier to recover, heh!â Sandy grabbed the leash, tightening it around their ankle.
Sandy and Slime Streak excitedly dashed into the water, Shellraiser watching from a distance as he relaxed on a chair, âtanningâ in the sunbeam.
âAhâŠâ, he mused. âNothing can spoil this day!â
ââŠShe wishes she could take them out of the water, so she could cuddle and sleep with themâŠâ
Displayed on screen was âSue Nahmeeâ, the main antagonist of âSaving Bikini Bottomâ, the newest SpongeBob film. During this scene, viewers were offered a look into Sueâs childhoodâ except her adult head was slapped onto a childâs body in (probably) the worst chroma-key job in the history of cinema.
Not a single member of the group wasnât completely dumbfounded by what they were witnessing.
âI canât believe this was approved to airâŠâ, Shellraiser muttered.
âI can believe it. You think those execs care about making a quality product! Nah, they just want peopleâs moneyâŠor in this case, their parentâs moneyâ, Timmy countered.
âIâm surprised they left the robot horse behind. YâknowâŠthe cute animal sidekick that they want kids to cling on to and beg their parents to buy the marketable plushie ofâ, Shredder added.
Sandy was furiously typing on her phone, Slime Streak drowning her âsorrowsâ with popcorn.
âI had to pause the movie and walk out of the room when this scene came on. Then I went to ITSUGAR, got myself some candy, and came back to my room. The candy wasnât really necessary, I just needed something good to counteract the badness that was this movieâ, she said in-between handfuls.
âWell, itâs a good thing Iâve completely cut her from my revision of the movieâŠand every other human, honestly. I actually think the Rattlesnake gang from earlier would make for a good antagonistâ though the real conflict will be whether Sandy should stay in Texas or return to Bikini Bottomâ, Sandy stated.
âWoah, that already sounds like a way better story!â
âYep! It makes a world of difference when you have a writer who cares about the thing youâre makingâŠand no execs to bow down to!â
Lights flashed around as a disco ball sparkled above their heads. Located in a nearby town, Shredder and Timmy had decided that their date-slash-âgirlâs night outâ should be at a Karaoke bar.
With a recently-updated machine and complimentary room service at hand, the pair were enjoying a wonderful night out with fellow Jerseyans Nitro, Medusa, Harley Quinn, and Green Lantern.
Of course, their song choiceâ or more accurately, album choice, was obvious.
âȘRed Wine Supernova, fall right into me!âȘ
While some of the albumâs setlist had been sung by the entire group, Timmy and Shredder wanted to keep this track for themselves. The song wasnât a duet pieceâ but that didnât matter to them.
Timmy started the second verse; âȘI like!âȘ
âȘI like!âȘ, Shredder sang in response.
âȘWhat you like!âȘ
âȘWhat you like!âȘ
âȘLong hair,âȘ
âȘThick curls!âȘ, Shredder putting her own spin on the lyrics.
âȘThatâs my type!âȘ
âȘThatâs right!âȘ
âȘYou just told meâŠâȘ
Shredder pulled Timmy in closer.
âȘâŠâWant me to ride you?ââȘ
An âOoh~!â erupted from the others, catching on to Shredderâs double entendre.
Timmy pulled Shredder in even closer, their foreheads touching.
âȘBaby I will, âcause I really want to!âȘ
They would sing the last of the verse together, continuing their simultaneous duet to the end of the song.
Though their throats would be unquestionably sore the next day, the memories that Timmy and Shredder made that night was worth the pain.
âHALT!â
Lilâ Devil turned around, a plastic crown firmly clamped in-between his teeth.
âAs the thief responsible for stealing the queenâs crown, you must be vanquished! Surrender now, or die by my blade!â, Joust declared.
Lilâ Devil wordlessly looked him up-and-downâŠand began to run right towards him.
Joust prepared himself, pointing his lance at the âdevil-childâ.
âYou wonât get away with this!â
Lilâ Devil suddenly reared left, swiping at Joust with his tail.
âAUGH!â Joust fell to the floor in dramatic fashion. Even if he wasnât actually hurt, he had to sell it like he was.
âKozmo!â
The chipmunk-girl rushed onto the scene, complete with her own story-appropriate costume.
âOh no, youâre wounded!â
âHe got me where I least expected it! Quickly, look into your mage-tome for healing spells!â
Kozmo flipped through the pages of her tomeâ in reality, her wilderness bookâ until she found a page about treating an open wound.
Kozmo showed Joust the page; âHere! Spell of Gauze-ian Wrappedâ.
âPerfect! Now, do your magic!â
Just as Kozmo was about to recite the incantation, her book was suddenly ripped from her fingers!
âNoâ!, she cried out.
Lilâ Devil scampered off, now with two valuable items in tow.
âWithout my mageâs tome, I canât perform any spells!â
ââŠand I am too weak to fight!â, Joust added.
âWHO CAN STOP THAT MENACE?â, the both of them yelled.
Lil Devil looked, back smiling âevillyââŠand was completely unaware of the green puddle that appeared right in front of him. As soon as he stepped in it, Lilâ Devil was stuck in place.
Dropping the book and crown, Lilâ Devil began pulling at his leg, hoping to free himself from the trap. Suddenly, the puddle began to moveâ and a humanoid figure emerged!
âSorry bud, your reign of terror is up!â
Slime Streak threw the book and crown away from Lilâ Devil, who fruitlessly tried to go after it.
âItâs an eternity of chores for you!â.
Lilâ Devil sighed sadly, crossing his arms as he was pulled back to the âcastleââ really, the birthday pavilion.
Kozmo spotted the valuables flying towards her and Joust; âMy book, and the crown!â She reached out as far as she could, catching her âtomeâ in her arms.
The crownâŠwould land right on the concrete, splitting in two.
âI was hoping to catch both of them. W-we can fix it, right?â
The crownâ now covered in sparkly duck tapeâ rested on the head of itâs rightful owner.
âOh Sandy, Queen of the Atoll Kingdom, we have succeeded in retrieving your crown! While I graciously put my health on the line when facing the devil-child, Kozmoâs intellect and magical prowess was the reason why I was able to find him!â
Slime Streak walked over to Joust and Kozmo, standing proudly.
âOf course, we wouldnât have been able to subdue LDC and retrieve our stolen items without Nickyâs help. though I was put off by their slimy green skin, I learned that you shouldnât judge a book by its coverâ.
âOh, what wondrous news; With the evil vanquished, my kingdom is peaceful once more!â
Sandy stood up from their âthroneâ, retrieving a plastic chest they had hidden behind it.
âI must reward you handsomelyâ here!â
They opened the chest, revealing what goods lay within.
âTake as many SpongeBob fruit snacks as you want!â
Within seconds, the chest had been emptied. As the trio began reaping their reward, Lilâ Devil shuffled over, sitting next to Slime Streak with his own stash of SpongeBob fruit snacks.
Sandy sighed happily.
âIâm so glad weâre friendsâ.
Shellraiser bowed upon seeing his sibling in-person for the first time in years.
âI am always honored to be in your presenceâ.
âAnd I am honored to have been given the opportunity to see you standing before meâ, Takabisha responded.
âI understand there was something you wanted to show meâ.
âYes. Though I have many fun events plannedâŠâ
Do-Dodonpaâs loop stood tall, awaiting its final resting place.
ââŠwe must take the time to honor those who have left usâ.
Situated near Eejanaika was a mural of Fuji-Qâs coaster lineup, past and present. In front of Do-Dodonpaâs was the lead car of its blue train.
Shellraiser took a sponge from the bucket, cleaning off the outer shell; it would shine in the sun once he was done.
Takabisha placed a bundle of incense next to the wheel assembly, wafting a strawberry scent into the surrounding area. A bouquet of white chrysanthemums was laid on one of the front seats.
Shellraiser scooped water into his ladle, gently pouring it over the front of the car.
Takabisha and Shellraiser crouched down, holding their hands up in prayer.
âMay Do-Dodonpaâs kindness be honored by those who remember, and may the coaster who settles upon their land carry on their legacyâŠâ
Festive music echoed through the halls of the American Dream Mall, as no time was wasted in transforming it into the holiday shopping destination. Trees were abundant, lights twinkled above every storefront, and Santa was getting ready to open his ears to those who desired to let him know what they wanted under the tree this year.
For the resident Coasterdroids of Nickelodeon Universe, things were no different.
Shredder climbed up the ladder, mistletoe in hand. She had done this every year since the park had openedâ but she now had someone who was willing to honor the tradition that it represented.
Just as she was about to hang the mistletoe upâŠshe felt something brush against her cheek.
Timmy had made her way up the ladder, planting a kiss on Shredderâ who just so happened to be holding the mistletoe above their heads.
They giggled, Shredder returning the favor with a quick kiss on Timmyâs forehead.
Shellraiser had spent all afternoon setting up and decorating the tree. Though he had a couple of ornaments he liked (and some he wasâŠless fond of, like the mooning Santa that Timmy had purchased as a gag gift two Christmas-es ago), there was one ornament that stood above the restâ literally, as he had left a space just below their tree topper, which was a homemade clay model of Patrick Star.
It was a small frame, containing a group photo and a personalized message;
âOur first Christmas togetherâ.
ââŠa ukulele songbook, a sandwich press, a new purse, a catâor dog, one of those big bubble wands, a conveyor belt sushi place to open at this mallâŠOh! And I want a new coaster here, maybe something small like a Zamperla mini mouse or SBF spinner so Iâm not the âbabyâ anymoreâŠâ
âWoah, slow down!â Sandy advised. âSantaâs gotta give presents to other kids too, you knowâ.
âYeah, youâre right. I still hope we get a new coaster here eventuallyâ.
âIâd welcome it!â
âHey, SandyâŠwhat do you want for Christmas this year?â
Sandy pondered for a moment.
âIâŠactually havenât thought about itâ.
âWoah, really? Youâve always wanted things for Christmas, Sandy! A lot of things!
âYeah, I haveâ mostly Spongebob merch, of course. ButâŠwhen I was stuck in that void, all aloneâŠI wanted nothing more than to be someone elseâ.
âOhâŠthatâs not goodâ.
âIt wasnât, even if I thought it was at the timeâ.
âBut you arenât thinking like that anymore, right?â
Sandy shook their head; âNoâ.
ââCuz I like that youâre Sandy, and so do you!â
Sandy smiles.
âYep. And after all the things Iâve been throughâŠI think I already have everything I wantâ.

Here it isâŠthe grand finale of my SFGAd AU designs (for now)! We have not one, but THREE designs for Nitro. Nitro is prettyâŠnot-themed, but what if this wasnât the case? What if Nitro was themed to the man of steel himself (and later, his evil clone)â Superman (and Bizarro)!
Before Nitro opened, speculation arose that the ride would be named âSuperman: Krypton Coasterâ. This turned out to be the name for SFFTâs B&M Floorless Coaster, but reports say that Nitroâs computer boot-up screen calls it âSuperman Krypton Coasterâ (or at least it did). If Nitro *was* themed to Superman, itâs likely that it would recieve a re-theme to Bizarro in the late 2000s, just like SFNEâs Intamin Megacoaster. Of course, this also means the two coasters would return to their original theme after a few years.
For these designs, I began with whatâs essentially a palette-swap of Nitroâs usual outfit. Itâs the most âtraditionalâ superhero look, minus the hair standing in for a cape. The fun part came when it was time to âbreakâ this look for Bizarroâs era, shifting the dominant color(s). She has grey gloves and hi-tops to mimic Bizarroâs craggy, grey skin. But when the Bizarro theme goes away, the design is âcleaned upââ she wears jeans and a jacket to hide the tears in her suit. The most challenging aspect was fitting all three designs on the page while giving them a pose that best reflected their personalities. Iâm happy how it came out!
Tho speaking of personality, S: KC is the image of a âperfectâ leader and isnât far off from her canon personality. But when her coasterâs rethemed, a combination of factors means that sheâs tired of being âperfectââ Bizarro uses her co-leader status to act out, eventually driving most people away. But returning to her original theme serves as a wake-up callâ after apologizing to her peers, S: TR relinquishes her position until she feels deserving of the role.
As always, If you wanna hear more about my Great Adventure AUs, I have a whole document up on my Toyhouse page that talks about this design in more detail (and many others)!

If the transfer of power was voluntary, Nitro wouldâve been ready to assume her role as park leaderâ but to have been âforcedâ into it because of Kaâs imminent demise (when the park was already having a rough year) makes her feel unworthy. Her first âorderâ as leader is just for herselfâ to see Wicked, a movie Green Lantern (a known âtheater nerdâ) was looking forward to watching. After seeing the movie, she goes over to Green Lanternâs station, sits right in front of ehe Charging Station and recounts the movie out loud. Itâs likely that Green Lantern is gone by this point, but Nitro hopes she can hear her one last time.
Initially, it seemed that Ka was taking the news well; Unhappy about it happening so soon and without a proper send-off from the park, but felt that it would be happening sometime before the end of the decade. However, he finds himself lying awake that night, unable to shake a thought out of his mind. Just before the sun rises (and when everyone else is asleep), he makes his way outside the parkâŠand uses his launch power. Itâs the closest thing that heâll get to feeling his coaster run againâ but it leaves him feeling unusually winded. A Coasterdroid isnât supposed to use their powers after their coasterâs permanent closureâŠand yet, he finds himself doing it again the next morning. Ka knows that this will only make things worse for him physically, yet he canât resist the urge. Ka tries his best to hide this behavior from the others, but itâs only a matter of time before they figure it out.

Toroâs breaths were shaky and heavy, clutching his chest. His mind ran wild with thoughts of imminent dread, wondering if this would be his last day.
All Toro could do was lie on his bed as Toroâs mind held him like a prisoner.
Suddenly, his phone buzzed to life.
Toro didnât pick up.
After a few more intermittent buzzes, a tune emitted from the phoneâs speakersâ someone was trying to call him.
Toro still didnât pick up.
Eventually, whomever was trying to call him was directed to voicemail; it quickly became apparent that the caller took advantage of this.
âHey ToroâŠItâs Nitro. I knew something was wrong the moment I realized you werenât wating outside. I thought about knocking on the hatch to your apartment, but I donât want to pressure you to respond. Thatâs why I was trying to contact you over the phone, to keep it between us; I wonât get the others involved unless you want me to. But I want to know if thereâs anything I can do to helpâ.
Minutes would pass before Toro felt well enough to respond.
âYou can speak to me in-personâ, he texted.
âBut tell the others to leaveâ.
Nitro looked up from her phone.
âYou guys have to leave, for now. Iâll give the all-clear when heâs readyâ.
The crowd of Coasterdroids dissipated from the area, leaving Nitro to wait inside Toroâs station.
âHave they left?â
âYeah. I made sure of itâ.
After a few seconds, Nitro heard the sound of a door unlocking.
As Nitro entered Toroâs apartment, she could tell immediately that he was tense.
âSomethingâs not right. We both know that. But I want to know what that isâ, she said with empathy.
âYou can tell me anything. You know that, right?â
Toro looked at Nitro with mild scorn, though the look was not directly because of her.
âI just want to helpâ.
Toro turned away from Nitro, pulling his cape over his shoulder.
Nitro waited.
ââŠI thought this is what I wanted. What I was waiting for ever since I realized the park was givng my coaster a second chance. Once my coaster began testing, I knew it was only a matter of time. Just yesterday, I was delighted to hear that an official re-opening date had been decided. It meant that everything would go back to normal; my coaster would be operating consistently again, the humans would love me again, and I would feel like myself againâ.
âButâŠâ
âI watched as employees began preparing my coaster for re-opening. They werenât encountering any issues, and the weather is nice today. Nothing was wrongâ.
âYet I felt that there wasâ or more accurately, that something would be wrong in my immediate future. Something that the humans would notice. Something that the humans would tell their friends, or their audience in the case of those enthusiasts. Something that would make the humans doubtâ.
âSomething that would confirm that my coasterâs glory days are over. That the park shouldnât have made the effort to repair it, or more alarminglyâŠthat their repairs were insufficientâ.
âIt was then that I felt a pain building in my chest. I tried powering through it at first. Thatâs what I always do. But it becameâŠtoo much. It all became âtoo muchââŠâ.
Toroâs voice trailed off. He hung his head down in shame.
âI ran awayâ.
Toro felt that he had said enough. Although he and Nitro had been friends for seventeen years, he couldnât help but to expect her disappointment.
âYouâre not a coward for feeling this way, Toroâ.
Toro picked his head up.
ââŠwhat?â
âItâs normal to be scared. Weâre surrounded by humans who are scared every dayâ.
âThatâs differentâ.
âIs it?â
âYes, because they donât have to worry about ruining their reputation for rest of time and wasting their last shot at life. All because something thatâs not even their fault!â
Toro turned around, his frustration clear.
âIâve dealt with the negative comments thrown at me all my life just fine! I always have!â
Toroâs hair ignited.
âTHIS KIND OF FEAR IS BENEATH ME! A BULL NEVER RUNS AWAY AND HIDES!â
âToro, pleaseââ
âIâM BETTER THAN THATâ!
âNo, you arenâtâ NOBODY IS!â
Toro was shocked to hear Nitro yell back at him.
âNobodyâs fearless, Toro. Itâs impossibleâ and more importantly, itâs unhealthy to hold yourself up to that standardâ.
Toro let out a snort.
âI know you promised to take care of yourself, Toro. Donât do this. If not for usâŠfor youâ.
Toro remembered why he made that promise.
His hair extinguished.
Toro let out a sigh.
âIâŠthoughtâŠI was better than thatâŠ.â
âBut you shouldnât have to feel that wayâ.
âI justâŠIâve never reacted like that. I thought that level of dread was something Iâd never reach. Then again⊠I never thought the last two seasons would play out like they didâ.
Toro sat down. Nitro followed shortly after.
âNitro, I want to admit something. Promise you wonât tell?â
âI promiseâ.
Toro hesitated to speak.
âIâŠâ
His throat became dry.
âIâm notâŠIâm not the person I thought I was anymore. Neither is my coasterâ.
ââŠandâŠâ, Toroâs voice wavered.
ââŠI donât like what Iâve becomeâ.
Toro didnât want to break down in front of Nitro, steadying his breathing.
âBut you want to be better, right?â
Toro looked at her.
âI doâ.
âIs that not a good thing?â
ââŠItâs better than someone who uses themselves as an excuse to be horrible to othersâ.
âExactlyâ.
Toro looked down at his leg. Although it was covered, he could picture that scar in great detail.
âNothing will ever be the same going forward, will it?â
âIt wonâtâ.
Toro looked back at Nitro.
âI woke up today knowing that my coaster was ready to operate. As I wait for that first train to run, I hopefor the bestâŠ.or at least I was hoping for the bestâ.
âWe all are, Toroâ.
âBut the truth isâŠ.Iâm scared. Iâm terrifed. This might be my coasterâs last day of operationâ.
âIt might not beâ.
âBut how do I know for sure? How will I know? How will I know my coaster will be safe?â
âYou wonâtâ.
Toro fell silent.
âI wonât. Nobody willâ.
Toro turned his body away from Nitro.
âThe future isnât set in stoneâ if you think too much about it, about whatâll happen in the long-term, youâll drive yourself crazyâ.
âSo what should I do?â
âTake it one day at a timeâ.
Toro looked back at her.
âItâs better to celebrate little accomplishments then to worry about reaching a single big oneâ.
ââŠlike my coaster being ready to re-openâ.
âYeahâ.
Toro turned back around.
âIâve been working on myself ever since April. Iâm not satisfied with myself just yet, but thatâs okay. Iâll get there one day, even if wonât know untill itâs that day. Untill then, Iâm going to enjoy my lifeâ no matter what obstacles are thrown my way, Iâll overcome them eventually. If I canât do it on my own, thatâs okay. I have friends and family who will help me, and I will always be greatful for their supportâ.
Nitro smiles.
âIâm not invincibleâŠ.but I donât need to beâ.
Toro breathes a sigh of relief.
âYou know, itâs almost time for the humans to send the first train of the season. I donât think you want to miss that, right?â
Toro thinks about it.
âWellâŠIâm still a bit worriedâ.
Toro stands up.
ââŠ.but thatâs okayâ.
Toro and Nitro exit the station, returing to the group of Coasterdroids eagerly awaiting Toroâs returnâ now joined by a cluster of humans.
âYou are all clear and out of here!â
The first train rolls out of the station, carrying a crowd of humans happily cheering at the ride experince to come.
Toro cheers with them, alongside his fellow Coasterdroids.
The train returns to itâs station, ready to accommodate another set of guests.
âGive it up for the first cycle!â
Nitro and the rest of Toroâs peers cheer for him. Toro bows, then looks up.
âWhat, no roses?â
They laugh with Toro.
âYâknow, thereâs something I didnât tell you back at the apartmentâŠâ
Toro spots something off in the distanceâ heâs beaming.
âTheyâre hereâŠ!â
Toro runs off towards the entrance to an alternate path to Frontier Adventures.
âTOROâ!
âPRIMOS!â
Toro is pulled into a group hug by Colossos, Balder, and T-Express.
âYou didnât think weâd miss the re-opening?!â
âNitro sent the news over yesterdayâ I jumped on the soonest flight I could!â
âIâm so happy to see you again!â
âIâm happy tooâ itâs been too long!â
Toro rarely got to see his cousins in-person, much less so all three at onceâ but an occasion like this was the perfect time for a Prefab reunion.
Toro called out to Nitro; âThank you!â
âYouâre welcomeâ, she called back.
While the rest of the day didnât go perfectly operations-wise, things were an overall sucess. The Coasterdroids of Great Adventure would celebrate with a grand feastâ not only for the re-opening, but for Toroâs birthday.
It was perhaps the best birthday celebration heâs ever had.
As the ride ops sent out one last train for the day, Toro couldnât help but watchâ not out of worry to what could happen, but just to appreciate what had been done.
âDespite everything, today was a triumphâ.

Coastermaynia 2023 Day 27- Nitro (Formal) @coastermaynia
The first of two submissions I have for this yearâs Coastermayniaâ todayâs prompt features Great Adventureâs B&M Hypercoaster, Nitro. Though Nitro has had a blue/yellow/magenta color scheme for over two decades, the park is evidently preparing for a repaintâ Nitroâs 3 existing trains (and a newly-purchased foruth train) spot a light blue/dark blue/grey/black color scheme. Given this change (but wanting to wait for the coaster itself to be repainted before attempting a redesign), I wanted to depict Nitro in an outfit with this new color scheme. Although she has always loved the old colors, Nitro looks forward to the coasterâs visual refresh.
Nitro is an optimistic âsocial butterflyâ, beloved by Coasterdroids in and outside her park. Acting as Great Adventureâs âco-leaderâ, Nitro is devoted to those she cares about and allows them to voice their viewpoints. Despite her responsibilities, Nitro doesnât let them consume her; she loves being the life of a party.

Toro was met with perhaps the most visceral-sounding sobbing heâd ever heard in his life.
âIâm here, Tee. Iâll wait until you're ready to speakâ.
T-Express, aka âTeeâ, usually let Toro know when they wanted to call, as the differing time zones ensured that there would only be a few hours where both parties were awake.
But as much as T-Expressâ cries warned Toro of its catalyst, he had no idea what to expect. Toro knew that their coaster was being actively worked on, so it was unlikelyâ yet not impossibleâ that he was going to learn of T-Expressâ permanent closure. There was nothing (as far as he knew) to suggest that Everland as a whole was struggling financially; they wouldnât have initiated T-Expressâ refurbishment if they couldnât afford to.
Coughs emitted from Toroâs phone speaker, followed by the sound of Rolling X-Trainâs voice.
âAniyoâŠâ
âYou can call me back later. Itâs okayâ.
Teeâs voice became more distant as they conversed with Rolling X-Train, leaving Toro to resume speculating.
âTeeâs been close to RXT since the day they openedâ and it seems like with every passing year, we have less and less Arrows aroundâ, he thought.
Toro had initially received the call as he was conversing with some of his neighbors, wisely deciding that the privacy of his bedroom was a better place to be.
âDonât know how ride closures are handled over there, but the people in charge over here arenât always the best about itâŠâ
Just by the tone of their voice, Toro knew that Rolling X-Train was trying to soothe T-Express.
âMaybe this is aboutâŠNo. Wouldnât make sense for Tee to be so distraught. UnlessâŠâ
Toro mulled over the possibilities, as it was the only way he could keep himself from getting swept up in the emotions of it all.
âKeep it together, Toro. The last thing Tee needs is to feel like theyâre burdening someoneâŠâ
Just as the ten-minute mark had passed, Toro heard T-Express pick their phone up.
âTee?â
Shaky breaths emitted from his phoneâs speaker.
âWhatâs wrong?â
ââŠRMC is hereâ.
Toro flung his phone onto his bed, sparing his phone from potentially being crushed beyond repair.
The one possibility he didnât consider.
The one possibility he didnât want to consider.
Toro frantically switched on âspeaker modeâ, feeling an ever-so-familiar tingle in his scalp.
âHere for what?â
âForâŠ.forâŠ.m-mâŠ.meâ.
The last part of Teeâs response sounded muffled, like someone had covered their mouth.
Toro sank to the floor, hands clutching at his head.
âWhat are they doing?â
âWhatâŠ?â
âWhat. are. they. DOING. TO. YOU?â
Everlandâs initial notice only mentioned a âsuspensionâ of T-Expressâ operations, not that it would be closing permanently. âIt canât be I-Boxâ, Toro thought. âThey wouldnâtâ.
âThey are putting new track on.â
âAnd itâs steel?â
ââŠy-yesâ.
âWhat does it look like?
âIt isâŠit is steel. It looks like steelâŠ!â
âYou need to be more specificâ.
âIt isâŠbare. Unpolished. Dull. They didnât paint itâ.
It clicked in Toroâs head.
âThatâs 208 RetraKâ.
Toro slowly climbed onto his bed; he had narrowly managed to avoid flying into a state of (literal) burning rage.
âIâm not getting I-Box?â
âNo.â
âButâŠwhy? Isnât that what RMC makes?â
âThey only use I-Box for full conversionsâ.
âAh. So Iâm not becoming an RMCâ.
Toro bit his tongue, trying to think of a statement that wasâŠless harsh than what he was actually feeling.
âYourâŠyour coasterâs layout is not changingâ.
âI will just have new track on my first drop and two hills following. But it will feel the same!â
âNOâ, Toro blurted out.
There was a pause.
ââŠWhat do you mean? If I am not getting I-Box, nothing will change, like you just saidâ.
âSteel track doesnât run like Prefab track, Teeâ.
âI figured so. But if it runs the same course, with the same movementsâŠit doesnât erase what came beforeâ.
Toro was lucky that they couldnât see his face.
âIn that regard, my status remains as an Intamin Prefabricated Wooden Coasterâ.
ââŠâ
ââŠIâm still a Prefab, right?â
ââŠâ
ââŠToro?â
ââŠâ
T-Express began to cry once more; âYouâre rightâŠhow can I call myself a Prefab now? I am a disgraceâŠ!â After a few seconds of sobbing, the call ended.
Toro laid upon his bed, emotionally paralyzed.
âThis was never supposed to happenâ, he thought. âWe were doing âsteel coasterâ things way before RMC decided to take the easy way out. Prefabs donât need to become âbetterâ, and the only reason why weâre having issues is because of human lazinessâ.
âTee was running just fine with Prefab track, and if there really were any issues, Intamin wouldâve fixed their coaster like they did with Colossos and Balderâ.
âIf Intamin wasnât interested in making any more prefabs, then why are we still listed on their website?â
âRegardless of where we were built, we became a favorite among park guestsâŠeven as the years went onâ.
âAfter all, Iâm still the best coaster at this parkâ.
Toro was interrupted by a rapid burst of knocking; he turned away from the sound.
âToro, this is Ka. I am concerned about your absence. Have you finished conversing with T-Express?â
ââŠâ
âGoing by your silence, I will assume so. If you arenât going to permit my entrance inside, can you let me know what has happenedâ?
âT-Express is getting RMCâs 208 RetraKâ, Toro answered bitterly.
ââŠI seeâ.
There was a pause.
âI may not know them well, but I believe that T-Express wanted Intamin to retrack their coaster as much as you wanted it to happen. Unfortunately, these kinds of decisions are simply out of our handsâ.
âSo Iâm just supposed to be complacent with whatever shitty deal Iâm given?â
âIâm not saying you have to agree with what Everland is doing, but-â
âWhat happens when Great Adventure decides to do the same for my coaster? You know theyâre just itchinâ to save some cashâŠâ
âYou say this as if itâs an inevitabilityâ.
âBecause it isâ.
âYou donât know that. Yes, there is a possibility that Great Adventure will elect to apply 208 RetraK on your coaster. But this is the only park that engineers its own Intamin Prefab trackâ they may not see a reason to look for outside helpâ.
âTheyâre only doing it because they thought they had no choice, Ka. Now that itâs been proven that 208 RetraK works on Prefabs, they can just slap some steel on me and call it a dayâ.
âIsnât this preferable to T-Express undergoing a full I-Box conversion? From what I understand, a majority of the ride will remain woodenâ and 208 RetraK was designed to retain the same ride experienceâ.
Toro swung open the door, with only the sounds of his hooves allowing Ka to back away.
âBecause this is how it STARTS. At first, itâs only on a âhigh-stress areaâ, but then people start liking how smooth it is, and then the execs think about how âbetterâ the coaster would be if it were all-steel. Just like that, we now have another RMC Hybrid. It happened to Rattler, it happened to Riverside Cyclone, it happened to Georgia Cyclone, it even happened to Lighting Rod! Hell, Boulder Dash and Predator are getting more Titan Track with each passing seasonâ.
âIf Everland was truly interested in converting T-Express, donât you think they wouldâve made that decision already?â.
âWell maybe they should have, instead of pussyfooting around the fact that they donât value T-Express and just want to chase the newest trends. Itâs not like Iâd feel any worse than I do nowâŠâ
âI think youâre still valuable, Toro. We all doâ.
Toro looked away from Ka, sighing deeply.
âYou know, out of all the Coasterdroids hereâ I thought youâd be the most understandingâ.
âWhat do you mean?â
âDonât play dumb, Ka. You know Zamperlaâs gonna show themselves here sooner than laterâ.
With just the name of a company, Toro had dealt a blow to Kaâs confidence.
âWhen they tear out your hydraulics, construct a spike of facsimile track and slap their fancy new âlightingâ trains on, will you even be able to consider yourself an Intamin Accelerator?â
ââŠâ
âThatâs what I thought. Stop trying to act all high-and-mighty with me; youâre due for a âreimaginingâ sooner than later. But at least your track will remain all-steelâŠâ
âWould you rather have your coaster demolished, Toro?â
Ka had captured Toroâs full attention, eyes locked on each other.
âAnswer me. Would you prefer to die?â
ââŠWhat do you think?â
Silence filled the air.
Ka took a deep breath.
âI know you arenât completely against RMC, Toroâ.
âOh, arenât I? Itâs not like I want to kick the shit out of every human who says Iâm âtoo roughâ now, because only someone who merely dislikes RMC wouldââ
âYou wouldnât have wished for Rolling Thunder to be convertedâ.
Toroâs eyes widened.
âI couldnât forget about thatâ.
âIâŠI was too overwhelmed with grief. I never wanted RMC to fix his coaster when Thunder was aliveâ.
âBut you still thought about it. You still said itâ.
ââŠâ
Toro broke his eye contact.
âTT2 may not be an Intamin Accelerator, but I still care about themâ theyâre my sibling, first and foremost. I think you should do the same for T-Expressâ.
ââŠâ
Toro turned around, throwing himself onto his bed.
âI understand if you wish to sleep on this, but I trust that you will make the right decisionâ.
âDonât expect me to show up at breakfast tomorrowâ.
âWhy not?â
JD leapt onto the table, slamming his phone on the surface.
âTHATâS 208 RETRAK, BABY! I WIN, I WIN!â
He threw his head back, cackling.
âTHIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!â
JD stomped around, hooting and hollering with glee.
âIf you have to celebrate, I advise that you do so elsewhereâ, Ka insinuated. âI would prefer not to have hoofprints in my breakfast â.
âYeah, I couldâŠexcept you didnât consider the fact that INTAMIN PREFABS ARE RMC-ABLE!â
Ka groaned in frustrationâ a sentiment that was echoed by most of those seated with him.
Toro laid on his back, staring up at the ceiling; music from a Spanish radio station played faintly in his ears.
Suddenly, the music was cut off by a familiar ringtone. Toro decided to let the call go through.
âYou there?â
âHavenât leftâ.
âIs it ok if I come in? Didnât feel right to show up unannouncedâ.
ââŠSureâ.
Nitro was greeted with half-lidded eyes.
âI know whatâs happening to T-Expressâ.
âLet me guessâŠJD told everyone?â
âYeahâ.
Toro balled his left hand into a fist, pressing it up against his forehead.
âTrust me, we were all annoyed with himâ.
âYeah, I knowâŠbut to even think about how he reacted gives me a headacheâ.
âWell, that might be from the lack of sleepâ.
Toro blinked slowly, serving to reinforce Nitroâs point.
âIâm not going to judge you for feeling this way, Toro. I donât think Iâll ever fully understand how RMC has affected wooden coasters like youâ.
ââŠThanksâ.
âIs there anything you want to talk about?â
âNo, NoâŠI already had my talk with Kaâ.
âOkayâ.
Toro looked down at the floor.
âWhatâs in the bag?â
âOh! Well, itâs not going to magically solve this problem, but I think youâll feel a bit better after you seeâŠâ Nitro reveals the gift sheâs brought. âThis!â
Toro examines the plush, taking it from Nitro. Itâs a light-brown brown bull with cream-colored horns and brown hooves, wearing a navy blue bandanna adorned with the NJ Transit logo.
ââŠIs this Ricardo?â
âYep!â
Toro gave the plush a light squeeze; âItâsâŠcute, I guessâ.
âThought it would be funny, yâknowâŠbecause heâs a bull from New Jersey, and youâre a bull from New Jerseyâ.
âPretty sure Ricardoâs not the only bull living in this state, but sure. Consider me amusedâ.
âThatâs what I was hoping for!â
âSo what else is inside?â
âWellâŠâ
Nitro fully unzipped the bag.
âI wasnât the only one who bought you a Ricardo plushâ.
Toro looked down at the cluster of plushies, then at her.
âI had no idea until I saw all the boxes from NJ Transit, honestly!â
âMaybe I can keep an extra one for display purposes, butâŠwhat do you expect me to do with all of these?â
âThereâs always eBayâ.
âYou think theyâll be enough people out there who want one?â
âI can think of someone whoâd appreciate a gift from their cousinâŠâ
Toro turned his gaze back at the plush.
âT-Express At Everlandâ Updated P.O.V 2024â
Toro highlighted the videoâs URL, pasting it into the text-message box. For him, It was the morning of April 5th.
âSaw this being shared by enthusiasts. I wanted to view it so I can better judge what the 208 is doingâ.
A speech bubble containing an ellipsis pulsed as Toro awaited Teeâs response.
âWhat do you think of it?â
âActuallyâ.
âDonât answer here. I will call youâ.
Toro left his phone on the nightstand, switching to âspeakerâ mode just before he answered.
âHello, Teeâ.
âHiâ.
There was a pause.
âI never thanked you for the plush, soâŠthanks! He lives on my desk now.â
âYouâre welcomeâ.
âI wish I could say more, but there is the matter at hand. ToroâŠWhat do you think of my coaster?â
âWellâŠItâs good to see that theyâve kept the original rolling stock. RMC has made 208 Retrakâs universality a selling pointâ.
âI did wonder if Iâd have to say goodbye to my trainsâŠit is good to be wrongâ.
âI can still hear the airtime going over the first two hillsâ.
âItâs a different tune now, like a thunderstorm surrounding the areaâ.
âSo if itâs doing that, it should feel like intense ejectorâ.
âOh yes, it does! I gave it a test ride today. No changes on that front. ButâŠyou were right about it no longer feeling like a Prefabâ.
Toro picked up his phone from the nightstand.
âWith only a bit having steel track, I could easily compare the difference. As smooth as RMCâs 208 is, I like the âedgeâ of wooden prefabricated track. Everything afterwards is just as it was before the closure. Itâs nice. It feels like me. Like how it shouldââ
âIâm sorryâ.
âWhat?â.
âYou donât have to downplay your feelings about the retrack, Tee. I was wrong to push my bias on to youâ.
ââŠI was just so worriedâŠâ
âDonât be. Thereâs not much value Iâd get out of being angry at youâ.
âSo I can say with confidence that I like the track?
âOf courseâ.
âThenâŠI like 208 Retrak! I like RMC as a whole! I am very happy that they are giving Gyeongju World a new coaster; Humans will adore them as much as we will! I am a fan of RMC and Intamin!â
Toro smiled.
âBut⊠I must ask. Do you see me as an Intamin Prefab?â
Toro gave it some thought, wracking his brain to come up with the best response.
âWellâŠwhat do you think?â
âHm?â
âI want to know if you think youâre an Intamin Prefabâ.
Toro heard T-Express take a deep breath.
âYes. I am an Intamin Prefabâ.

Text
(NOTE: This story follows-up on some events from âRed-Taggedâ. I suggest you head over to my Toyhouse & read that first, as it provides more context).
ââŠyour coaster has a mechanical issue and suddenly everyone assumes itâs headed for the scrapyard! My goodness, these humans are so overreactiveâŠâ
For nearly a month, Kaâs coaster had been down. While his coaster was infamous for its unreliability, the issue at hand was more than the usual âtechnical difficultiesâ. Fortunately, the park had spares on site for what needed to be fixed; Ka was ready to open in time for the 4th of July weekend, typically a crowd-heavy time for Great Adventure.
Ka decided to hibernate in his charging station during this timeâ a common practice for Coasterdroids whose coaster is undergoing mechanical repairs or enhancements. In the interm, Nitro served as the parkâs sole leader, though her status as co-leader meant that she was used to the responsibilities.
âThey sure are reactiveâ but that just makes it fun to watch them get launched up that top hat, right?â
âIt is quite amusingâ.
The familiar âwhistleâ of Kaâs launch sounded off, accompanied by the collective shout of a train full of riders.
âWell, itâs great to have you back, Kaâ you and your coasterâ.
âIâm grateful as well. I assume your leadership skills were sufficient in keeping everyone well, right?â
âOh no, it devolved into chaos without youâ.
Ka gave Nitro a concerned look.
âNah, just messing with ya! Though Toro and JD still hate each other, but I donât think anyone can get those two to get alongâ.
âHah, I wouldnât even assign that task to myself!â
Ka spent some time catching up on what had happened at the parkâ most notably, the fact that El Toroâs coaster had re-opened.
âGood to see your coaster back in operation, Toro. How long has it been?â
âAlmost two weeksâ.
âHow are you feeling?â
âBetter. Things havenât been perfect, but it beats being SBNO. Iâm working towards a version of me that I can be proud of, despite how things have changedâ.
âIâm similarly relived to find my coaster operating again, though perhaps I can follow your lead on a journey towards self-acceptanceâŠâ
As for matters outside of the park, Ka recieved some long-awaited good news; âHey, check this outâ! Nitro turned her phone towards Kaâ on screen was an article regarding Knottâs Berry Farm, a park with itâs own Intamin Accelerator. Within a few seconds of glancing at the article, Ka was beaming.
âXcelerator, set to reopen this summer! This is wonderful! Iâll be sure to arrange a visit to Knotts once I know the dayâ.
âTook that park long enough to say something, am I right?â
âThe humans werenât the only ones wondering about Xcel, thatâs for sureâŠ.â
Once the park had closed for the day, Ka decided to retreat to his apartment. In hearing the news about Xcelerator, he decided to converse with another one of his cousinsâ Storm Runner.
âI saw the post today about your coaster re-opening, how was it?â
âFashionably late, apparentlyâ.
âHah, thatâs being an Intamin for ya!â
âBut Iâm not the only one re-openingâŠXcelerator is scheduled to re-open sometime in the next few months!â
âOh my godâŠFinally! Iâve missed them so much. I thoughtââ
There was a pause. Storm Runnerâs voice cracked.
âI thought Iâd never get to see them alive againâŠâ
Another pause.
âI really needed to hear that, Ka. Things have beenâŠtoughâŠaround hereâ.
Ka knew what Storm Runner was referring to, even without them saying a word.
âHow have they been?â
âWell, they still donât know about their pastâŠor more accurately, that their past life was Wildcatâs. They have wondered why their memories are so fuzzyâŠbut we just go along with it. Fill in the blanks for them. Smile and nod when they talk about a false memoryâ.
ââŠYou know theyâre going to figure it out eventually, Storm Runnerâ.
âYeah, butâŠwe donât want to burden Wildcatâs Revenge with that. At least, not now. Theyâre pretty happy and sure of themselves, even if they donât understand things like why Wild Mouse wonât look them in the eyeâ.
âIâm just worried that this âfacade-keepingâ will backfire. I highly sugest you tell them the truth sooner than laterâ.
âWe will, Ka. We will. Eventuallyâ.
Ka isnât entirely convinced, but decides not to press further.
âYou know, I have something to tell you, Kaâ.
âHm?â
âBut itâs about Dragsterâ.
Ka felt his throat tighten.
âTell meâ.
âA few days ago, a shipment arrived at Cedar Point. A shipment of roller coaster track. Of course, Dragsterâs parkmates wanted to investigate. Didnât take long for them to locate a box with a label on itâ.
Thereâs a pause.
âItâs Zamperlaâ.
Ka let out a sigh, partially out of relief that he had an answer.
âI had a feeling that would be the caseâ.
âLike, I get it. Cedar Fair doesnât like working with Intamin. But to hand our cousin off to a manufacturer who doesnât have the best reputation, or even that much experience in the world of coastersâŠ.â
âIâll admitâŠitâs not an ideal scenario. ButâŠâ
âBut what?â
âIntamin wasnât always known for building large-scale coastersâ and not all of their coasters are looked upon favorably. To discredit Zamperla for a similar reason would be short-sightedâ.
âYeah, butâŠit just feels wrong, you know?â
âI understandâ.
Thereâs a pause.
âBut even if Intamin was responsible for the refurbishmentâŠIâd still be worriedâ.
Storm Runner listens quietly.
âI justâŠI wonder if this was the right decision. Was it not possible to keep Dragster as is? Will they remember who I am? Who they were? â
Kaâs breathing becomes shaky.
âIs this actually going to help them?â
He tries to steady his breaths.
âKa? You still there?â
Moments pass.
âKa?â
âIâm still hereâ.
Thereâs a pause.
âI can only hope that Iâll get my sibling backâ.
âIâm hoping with ya, Kaâ.
Even after the call ends (and Storm Runner reassures Ka that theyâll support him through everything), Ka fears that heâs already lost Dragster to the sands of time.
