Spoilers for Tekkaman Blade (analysis under the read more)
I think something really interesting in Tekkaman Blade about Shinya and Takaya's relationship that goes unnoticed for most of the anime is the contrast between the 2 brother's view of themselves in relation to their family. How Takaya percieves his family as ultimately good and well-functioning. Obviously he's aware his mother died but he seems to believe everyone has been able to heal and move on from that, assumes shinya's "rivalry" with him has no deeper meaning. Shinya on the other hand, knows his family is broken. Knows that from the moment his mother told Takaya "boys don't cry", the moment she shut Shinya in the burning clock so that he would survive, from the moment his father treated him differently from Takaya, from the look in his eyes when he blamed Shinya for his wife's death, however hidden and subconscious it was. And even though the Radam possessed Shinya into doing their will, I think they also exxagerated what was within, which was his desire to fight, to justify, to finally be enough- to himself and to others. Because deep down he's felt responsible for what happened his entire life, for being not good enough, strong enough. And while Takaya thinks this desire to duel to the death, the visceral anger, was just another aspect of what the Radam had done, I think Shinya knew, in his dying breaths, what was under the surface was never going to go away. In their battles he repeats "I need to fight you, I'm glad I have the opportunity to do it like this" (instead of back home, where he would have to direct all of this at himself) - and Takaya would never see the layer of truth in that. In the end Shinya's standards for himself were never going to be met, because they were based on an inherent state of undeservingness that he felt he needed to prove himself out of. He was never going to match up to Takaya, to find that true victory because he could still never go back and undo all that happened when they were kids. As he bleeds out he finally reaches that understanding. Without the Radam's interference he can fully see that he would never be able to win because was fighting against his own hurt, that life is a circle and Takaya would feel the guilt that he felt tenfold. That there was nothing he could do about it now, and there was never anything he could do about his issues to begin with. It seems fitting I guess.

*sighs* The heroine of Tekkaman Blade suffers from Orihime Syndrome - meaning: men who create the story cannot write women for shit and most of the time make them repeat the protagonist name. If they though say something relevant it is never the thing which they should say as heroines. Soothing the guy like Blade doesn’t really work and Noal gets most of the lines which should be spoken by the heroine in order to make the connection between them. That’s why a lot of anime has gay subtext, because mangakas make male relationships more relevant to the protagonist than relationships he has with female charas.
Not that I am complaining about gay subtext. I am just fed up with female characters being written by a friggin amateurs who cannot give them justice they deserve. It is infuriating. But still Aki is interesting character whenever she doesn’t repeat protagonist name due to being worried about him. She says better things then, and I tend to generally agree with what she says and her approach to other people, especially Blade, but it is sadly not working on him. He is mostly being soothed by Noal and Milly in the end. You know “rough friendship” and “i am cute like your little sister” works on him much better.

Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS Episode 67 Sub Release

--------------
Please make sure to read the FAQ if you have any questions.
Below are extended translation notes, so spoilers ahead.
--------------
Jushin Tiger & this episode’s theme
This SEVENS episode is actually a whole bunch of parodies and references to really old mecha/superhero/magical girl anime & tokusatsu shows. I can’t catch all of them, unfortunately, as I don’t have a huge grasp on the genre (especially for some of these references being for super-old 70s or 80s shows), but I can try my best to point some of them out.
The most obvious being that Jushin Tiger is a reference to a series named Jushin Liger, which aired in the 90s. Then there’s Romin, who’s a reference to Saint Tail, and Mimi, who is a reference to Miss America.
I’m told the opening narration of “this is a tale of...” may be a reference to Brave Exkaiser (or any of the other Brave series) which started their episodes this way.
There are other things in the episode, like references to Astroboy, Tekkaman Blade, Gridman, Metal Hero, and Devilman. Again, I can’t catch all of them, unfortunately, but hopefully someone else will and can compile a much more comprehensive list.
Original YGO Duel Monsters reference
Now this is something I can catch.
The sequence where Sevens Road Paladin attacks and destroys Umbrlancer F and Dragiastar F are a reference to episode 134 of the original Duel Monsters series, where Atem defeats Kaiba in the Battle City semi-finals at the last minute with Dark Paladin, using “Diffusion Wave-Motion”!
Yuuga here uses “Diffusion Solitary-Motion”, but the obvious Paladin naming should already give it away. Sevens Paladin and Dark Paladin also both had 3900 starting ATK for the sequence (before going higher), and Atem shouts the same attack name as Yuuga does, minus one different kanji.
Atem:  超魔導烈波斬 -> “Beyond Magic! Fierce Slashing Wave!” Yuuga: 七魔導烈波斬 -> “Sevens Magic! Fierce Slashing Wave!”
--------------
Thank you everyone for such a great, amazing season again!
I am fully planning on continuing with the next arc and with SEVENS for as long as is possible, and the past year+ has been so fun. The fandom is tiny, but I’m happy to do my part.
--------------
Regarding Official Releases of SEVENS
I actually want to address something while I still have time, considering how Rush Duels are ramping up in the West, and we are expected to see a dub announcement sometime soon, possibly in the next two months.
If there is an official dub announced for the West, I will still be subbing this series. However.
If there is a simulcast of SEVENS announced (as in, official subs from Konami Cross Media via Crunchyroll that get updated weekly, just like what happened with VRAINS), I will stop subbing the series. At that point, there is a much more accessible sub that is official and made by people who are paid to do so. This team is but a group of volunteers at the end of the day and we cannot compete.
Unless the subs are really bad for some strange reason, that will be the end of entameSubs, and it was a very, very fun ride while it lasted! I expected to hit this roadblock someday, and it seems we’re finally coming up to it. (And yes, in the event of us shutting down because of an official simulcast, I will 100% be redirecting my efforts to the BD instead.)
Of course, this is all just hypothetical for now, as there has been no official simulcast or subs announced, so we just have to wait and see.
But I want to say this now just in case I don’t get the chance to later.
Thank you for sticking with entameSubs! As of now, we’re still committed to SEVENS, so see you next week!

Thoughts on Tekkaman Blade (huge spoilers ahead)
I've never advocated for a character to die before, but Takaya shouldve just blown up with the mothership. I know it's poetic falling to earth and actually losing his memory like he said he did in the beginning but its too painful. It wouldve let all of the Tekkaman and Radam conflict go full circle within itself and been easier and healthier mentally for rest of the space knights to deal with the loss if he was truly gone.
That being said I am very happy Noal survived, but at what cost yk? The entire plot of this anime is just that gif of thanos that goes "I won but at what cost"
As far as Aki I feel like she let her love for Takaya bleed into her judgement. This is blunt but I personally think it was selfish of her to hope he lived even if it was in absolute misery, or worse losing his entire (except genetic but that doesn't really count) personality. I know she cared for him a lot but I think the fact that he became more closed off to her to shield himself from that pain combined with the fact that she stopped being able to help him really got to her. Especially the last scene with Noal where Freeman tells him he needs to "face the pain and can't just forget", it was pretty tone-deaf to assume that everyone else had Aki's weird mindset of not caring who Takaya was as long as he was alive, it's clearly ok to mourn people's past selves and not talk to them. Noal does have issues with repressing emotions but that scene was again showcasing how the space knights can get very selfish and posessive of Takaya, not think of considering what he would've wanted.
Like jesus christ he literally asked Noal to kill him in cold blood if he hurt Aki or his Tek-Set malfunctioned past the time limit do you think he'd be happy with a version of himself where one of the worst things he thought could ever happen, forgetting her, happened and he's literally a shell of a person? No. He would kill himself. But he fucking can't because he would have no reason to as ye remembers nothing.
He can't visit Shinya's or Miyuki's graves meaningfully because he has no true idea of who they were, that time capsule tape that he cried (the only time Takaya ever visibly cried in the show, his mother would be proud) and fucking broke over would just be a nice sappy message he could smile at hearing. Forget Miyuki's favorite flower, forget the concept of being "saved" from all the suffering of those memories, I stand by the fact that this fate is worse. All he would remember is being accused of killing his entire family by Omega and having no way to verify it except sad looks and maybe an awkward explanation from Aki that does nothing to help him understand how much those people meant to him. Sorry but I'm never going to stop being mad about this.
Might add to this but it depends.

i forget that tekkaman is an adult rated anime until they brutally kill off the youngest pilot in his squadron right after they win the battle while he's literally on the comms with his best friend. Like the absolute horror of celebrating with your best friend just for them to be fucking obliterated seconds later. Jesus christ.

Once again two male characters, protagonist and his rival/friend in an anime have more chemistry than heroine and the main character. Noal’s and Blade’s relationship is literally a friggin mutual pinning with an initial Aki induced drama.
