The Penguins - Can You Hold My Hand?

Arkhamverse Penguin:

"What is it, love? I'm very busy y'know?" 

You walked into his office, you just wanted to at least swing by and say hi. You made your way over to his desk.

"Sorry, I didn't know you were busy, I thought I could swing by and say hi and…maybe ask a quick favor?" You asked nervously, not so sure if this was a smart idea anymore. But maybe just maybe, he may get a chuckle out of it? He'll like you a little more?

"Well, guess I'm not too busy then, what do ya need?" 

You perk up a little at the open door. "O-Okay, um, could you hold something for me?" 

"Uhh." Oz looked around, you didn't bring anything in with you, what was he going to hold? 

"Sure, but love, what exactly…oh!"

He looked down to see your open palm. Your face was flaming red, you knew he was smart, you hope he’d get it. 

After a pause of silence you hear a low chuckle. Then a warm sensation fills the palm of your hand that slowly goes to your wrist. 

You look down and let out a shaky breath you didn’t know you were holding. 

“I didn’t know you were so cheeky, love.” Oz chuckled. 

“W-What? I just thought it was cute.” You smile, holding his calloused hand back. 

“You are pretty adorable, but I got to get back to work. Don’t worry, if you need another lift, I’ll be here.” 

Reevesverse/Farrell Penguin: 

“Hey, Ozzie!” You ran up to him in the VIP area. He knew you and he did like you, and the feeling was mutual so you weren’t too shy about walking up to him no matter where he was. 

“There she is! How’s it going, sweetheart?” You both exchanged kisses on each other’s cheeks. 

“Going great now that I’m finally here! I got a favor to ask you!” You were practically beaming, you saw someone do this to their significant other online, and you were dying to try it out on Oz. 

You two weren’t dating, but god if you weren’t going to try and make it happen. You two flirted with each other like you were, just haven’t vocally said anything exclusive.

“Anything for you, doll! What can Ozzie do for ya?” 

“Could you hold something for me?” You asked with a little grin on your face. 

Oswald gave you a quirked eyebrow, but caught on to what you were doing. He can tell by the playful look in your eye and the bright grin you gave him.

“Of course, doll, but are you sure you wanna trust me with something so precious as your heart?” He hummed. 

You gasp. “Ozzie!” You couldn’t help but laugh softly, he’s the only one who could catch you off guard in your own game. 

“No sir. Not tonight, maybe some other night, but tonight I just want you to hold this…” You laid of your hand, palm out in front of the crime boss. 

Oswald was surprised, but recovered with a smile. His gold tooth glinting in the light. Oz didn’t waste any time and clasped his hand with yours. He brought the back of your hand up to his lips and kissed the individual knuckles. 

If you were made of ice or wax you would’ve instantly started melting at the gesture. Sure, he’s kissed your hand before, but never so…intimately? This was beyond just manners. 

“You don’t gotta ask me, sweetheart. It’s always a pleasure to hold your hand.”

Gotham Penguin:

Oswald had just got through with a meeting with his hench-people. (We love an inclusive king)

He seemed very frustrated and flustered. Just as soon as he acquired his empire, it didn’t take long for various factions to try and take it right back from him. 

You decided to stick around after the fact, to try and maybe lift his spirits if you could. He did always seem to appreciate your company, and you his. 

“Is there anything I can help you with, Y/N?” He asked, noticing you still sitting next to him at the long dining table. 

“Um, actually, Oswald. I was wondering if you could hold something for me,” you giggled nervously. You laid your hand out in front of him on top of the table. 

Oswald’s eyes widened as he looked down at your open palm. 

Um, what the fuck?

Oz’s eyes darted between your hand and face. You gave him a lopsided smile, and shrugged cutely. 

“Y-You want me to hold your hand?” He asked softly. 

“I would like that, yeah…if you don’t mind. Looks like you could use a hand.” You giggled.

“Um..rude..” Butch commented from the other side of the room. 

“Oh..sorry, Butch!” You cringed, but tried your hardest to suppress your laugh. 

Oswald chuckled a little under his breath too, before he finally put his hand in yours, and squeezed it softly. 

“I think I could, thank you, Y/N.” 

Telltale Penguin:

It was another night out. Oswald had just gotten back to Gotham after being away overseas. You two had always been sorta close, not as close as him and Bruce, but close enough to be considered friends. 

Albeit you wished it was more than that. 

“Right, well, we’re we heading to tonight, love?” Oz grinned at you as he came down the front steps to his apartment. 

“I thought we could check out this new club. Just opened yesterday. I’ve heard some good things!” You suggested as the two of you started walking down the sidewalk. 

“Sounds like a plan.” 

You looked down Oz’s side, his hands were tucked firmly in his jacket pockets.

You remember helping him patch up his hands from all his street fighting and boxing tournaments he participated in. Anything to get his agression and frustrations out. They look bony, long, but they packed a mean punch. 

They were also very warm, they maybe rough, but they were comforting and warm whenever you helped him wrap gauze around them. 

“Hey Ozzie, could you do me a favor?” You playfully bump your shoulder with his and he chuckled. 

“Sure, what is it?” 

“Could you help me hold something?” 

Before he had time to ask what something, you flew your hand out of your jacket pocket and held it out next to his pocketed one. 

Oz was taken aback at first, before he gave you a small grin. “Figures, you’d pull a cute little trick like that..”

“It’s not a trick, I just want you to hold my hand, Oz.” You rolled your eyes, hoping your annoyed facade hides your true nerves.

Oz hummed and took his hand out of his pocket and into your hand. “Suppose not, but next time, you can just ask, sweet cheeks.” He winked. “Your hand’s warmer than any pocket anyway.”

Batman the Animated Series:

Oswald had just gotten out of Stonegate and you figured the next day you could treat him to a trip through the Gotham City Zoo. He always liked to check in on the penguins in the exhibit, and you would check up on them weekly when he was gone. You knew he would be so excited to see the new baby emperor penguin.

Oswald will never fully understand your intentions. He knew they were true, but he would never understand how…why…why you want to be with him? He appreciated it, but he never quite understood your friendship. 

“I can’t wait to show you! He looks absolutely adorable!” You squealed. You were excited Oswald was here beside you and plus you too look forward to seeing the chick again.

“Oh, I have no doubt he does. They all look adorable with their fresh down feathers.” Oswald smiled. 

You two kept walking side by side until you finally reached the exhibit. You couldn’t help that your smile widened as you saw Oswald absolutely light up at the sight of his namesakes. 

The baby was still huddled up under his father, but you could tell the little chick was curious and wanted out. The chick slipped out and made eye contact with Oswald. 

He honked out to Oswald, as he tilted his head to the side like a confused dog. 

Oswald laughed at the exchange, absolutely enthralled. The baby tried to waddle closer to you two, but was stopped when he noticed the edge that lead to water. He honked out again, as if calling Oswald to come closer. You saw Oswald’s wedge fingered hands hold onto the railing outside the exhibit. 

“Hey Ozzie…” You started, not sure how to ask for such a small, but intimate request. 

“W-What is it, my dear?” He asked. 

“C-Could you hold onto something for me?”

“Whatever do you mea-oh!” He noticed your hand opened towards him. 

“U-Um, I-I don’t think you’d want me to hold your hand..” He looked down at his oddly shaped hand. All he had was a thumb and two appendages that would make four fingers if they weren’t forged together by skin, like some sort of creature. 

You nudged your hand closer to his, hovering it over top of his. “I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t want too, Oswald.”

He gasped when he felt your hand in his. Your hands were warm, skin soft, and fingers dainty. Oswald immediately returned the gesture be enclosing his hand over yours. 

“Your hands are warmer than I expected after holding that chilly railing.” You giggled. 

“Haha, yes…it would appear so.” Oswald chuckled nervously. 

HONK!

You both were shocked out of the moment by a certain chick. 

“I’m sorry, little one, we were not giving you any attention?” Oswald asked. 

The chick honked and nodded his head. 

You laughed at the connection between Oswald and the chick, but your heart was beating fast at the connection of your hand in his. Especially as he squeezed your hand in excitement at the chick.

What Makes Them Insecure (Batman's Rogues)

Bane: His intelligence. Many men want him for his body but not you. Many men expect him to be this super macho man and around you he doesn't need to be that man. He is a well read man but, there is so much he doesn't know and he hates it when (Y/M/N) explains something to him that he feels he should already know. He always wants to learn but has a fear that you will leave him if he doesn't know something common. You may reassure him but he will genuinely feel stupid if you have to explain to him what pigeons and squirrels are and who Santa is. You ease the wound by being his teacher to some degree and you find that Bane is really into thinga like cartoons and plushies he eventually gets a whole squishmellow collection that.

Deadshot(Floyd Lawton): His job. Being a trained killer is something that he would never tell you. He doesn't want you to know and look at him differently. If it ever did come out he would freeze and would probably have his weakest moment begging for you to stay with him. "Y/M/N I can explain! Please don't go!" But you wouldn't go away something that he will always be greatful for. If you're not married somewhere down the line very soon the question will be popped.

Deathstroke( Slade Wilson): His age. He's getting older and he thinks that he's too old for you. Each wrinkle makes him think that he's too ugly for you and though you would think he wouldn't be vain like that he really is when it comes to you. If you're younger than him it gets under his skin if people ask if he's your father. If you're around his age it helps calm him slightly but then it turns into he's not good looking enough for you.

Joker(John Doe): He is the most insecure about doing something wrong to upset you. He is constantly asking for reassurance and will almost always call and ask Bruce about what he thinks he should do to make you happy because that's his friend. You tell him you love him everyday and that helps ease that voice in his head telling him he's fucking up so much. Just make sure to cuddle him and he'll be fine.

Killer Croc(Waylon Jones): His looks. This man is the definition of insecure about his body and he hates the fact he looks the way he does. He feels bad he can't go out with you without people thinking he's a monster. This will never really go away but you make it easier by pledging to be by his side and saying that you love him.

Mad Hatter(Jervis Tetch): That he's too weird for you. He knows that he's strange but in his mind he's another one who thinks you're too good for him and he puts immense pressure on himself for you. Whenever he gets captured he'll cry when you visit him in Arkham because he feels like he's holding you back. What confirta him is the fact that you're always there and you have no plans on leaving.

Mr. Freeze: You getting sick and dying. Nora is gone and he can't have you go that same way. You can only help his insecurity if you're immortal and can't die or if you're invulnerable other than that he's always worried.

Penguin (Oswald Cobblepot): You leaving him for someone better than him. He feels insecure about his body and was always bullied for his face and body. It took him a while to realize you loved him for who he was and even now he gets territorial over you. He's a dom in the streets and the subbiest sub in the sheets. He will grab your hip and put his arm around you in public especially if someone goodlooking comes by. If you ever go by Bruce Wayne forget it he will sulk the entire night and when you get home you will have to comfort him. mostly through sex fucking his brains out Infront of a mirror will definitely remind him that not only are you just his he's yours..

Ra's Al Ghul: As much as I'd like to say he'd probably be vain in his millennia worth of life he would probably have an insecurity about his performance in bed. He would always want to please you in every way imagineable I think he would be the most inexperienced in bottoming especially for men so not only would he be intimidated but he would also hate not knowing what to do and you having to explain how to do his role in the bedroom. Helping him is easy have more sex until he masters the art of pleasure.

Riddler( Edward Nygma): His insecurity is that he's getting dull. He likes that you're smart and can solve his riddles but will panic if it feels like he's boring you. Do not look bored with him otherwise he will get flustered and he might potentially cry if he gets that upset.

Summary: Following a violent outburst after the Mayor Debate, Oswald turns to you for support.

You heard his footsteps from the hall. Oswald, while charming, could become extremely loud when he was angry. Tonight was no exception. The door to your apartment slammed open, accompanied by Oswald’s shallow breathing. You lifted your head to give him a glance.

“My god, what happened to you?” You gasped, standing up and taking in the sight. Bloody was splattered on his suit and neck, a few droplets on his cheek. His left eye was rimmed with deep purple and black.

Oz’s lip curled, making the delicate scar on his nose crinkle. “Don’t you watch the news?” He snapped, slamming the door behind him. You jumped, and watched him cautiously as he limped into your living room.

“Oz..” you approached slowly, gently reaching out your hand. You had barely even laid a finger on him before he spun on you, collecting you in his arms and holding tight. You blinked, then hugged him back. Oswald was quiet, then he just squeezed you.

“I thought I was going to die tonight, luv.” He mumbled. You didn’t say anything, just listened. “Was scared, y’know? Didn’t uh…Didn’t wanna leave ya behind, Y/n…”

“What’s so good about me?”

Oswald’s grip tightened and he pulled away. He had a sad look in his gorgeous eyes as his hands gently cupped your face. “You…You smooth me, luv…” Oz leaned forward to kiss your lips. “You make me less violent…”

You smiled gently and pulled him down for another kiss. “I love you, Ozzy.”

Oswald smiled, “I love you too…”

I wanted to share the writings I am currently working on because it really is a personal “triumph” for me of sorts. After having an unpleasant experience with someone in a different fandom, I kind of lost my desire to write 😯. I lost all confidence and motivation, and even though I had ideas I could have written down, I just didn’t feel the joy anymore. 

It was months before I started to slowly get back into writing, although, for a different fandom. Not sure if I will return to writing for the fandom I was sort of left disenchanted with thanks to someone, but I am at least writing something -- anything. And I actually am having a fun time again!

These are the ideas I have that I am working on or hope to work on. Now, I can’t promise if any of these will be done any time soon, nor can I promise if I will complete all of these. Some may be abandoned, some may take a short time to write, some may take a very long time to write. But to celebrate my return to writing, I wanted to make this post.

Now, I am not trying to brag. I’m not a professional writer and I still have lots of things to improve on. So, don’t think I’m trying to act all “high and mighty.” Trust me--I have tons of insecurities about my writing!

Untitled Enigma/Edward Nashton x Lorelei Jones (my o/c) fic 

Summary: What the title suggests. I made Enigma a hot detective girlfriend 😂😂😂 But in all seriousness: She’s still a WIP, but most of her character has been developed. The story is meant to take place while Edward is at the GCPD, right around the time he decides to blackmail the shit out of Gotham’s corrupt elite. However, things go much differently than they do in the “Arkham Origins” game.

Notes:

One major change from the “Origins” game is Edward’s motivation to go through with this blackmail plan (let’s just say he’s doing it out of love, to put it simply. The other major change is that he doesn’t become Riddler. Is it a spoiler? Yes, but not a big one. That’s actually what started this fic and the creation of Lorelei Jones: what if Edward Nashton never became Edward Nigma, the Riddler? What if something transpired that “saved” him from that descent into madness, depression, and obsession? Was if this sassy, sexy nerd actually got a happy ending instead of a tragic one? Will contain a lot of smut because...it just will 🤣 Hey, I want Enigma to have a real good fucking time, ok? (quite literally in this case 😏) Will contains plenty of fluff, though, and a decent amount of angst.

A/N: oooohhhh this will be interesting, a little sad with a couple ozzie's, but that's trauma for you! I was debating adding tnba penguin, but I felt like it would be similar to arkham/farrell penguin so I let the idea rest. I hope you and other Penguin lovers enjoy!

Asking Various "The Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot" Out on a Date Headcanons:

Arkhamverse Penguin:

He’s extremely flattered. 

If he’s not too preoccupied with his business, he’ll indulge you on a night out. 

This is entirely up to you, but if you want to be more than a fling or arm candy, best to make it known now. 

Oz’s intentions first and foremost is for pleasure. The Iceberg Lounge is employed by a few birds that have spent a night or two with him. Whether it was for a better position or he eagerly sought them out and compensated them for is up for debate. 

He will assume you’re just after the same thing and wouldn’t mind cause he’s getting something out of it too

So unless you’re into that, you better lay a couple ground rules

Reevesverse/Farrell Penguin:

Like Arkham, he’ll be pretty flattered. Even a little impressed at your confidence to ask a guy like him out.

He may make a game out of it, giving you a “maybe” or “we’ll see, sweetheart.” 

If you are persistent enough, he’ll chuckle and finally give in, admired by your tenacity.

He’ll see to it that the two of you have a good time.

Whether if its a night at his club or a dinner at a fine dining restaurant, he’s got it covered.

If he finds himself having a better time than he thought, he would be more than happy to go on a second date with you.

Gotham Penguin:

Really?

But no really, what do you want? It’d be easier to just ask him what you want instead of wasting his time like this…

Will definitely scoff at first, he’s fueled on revenge and doesn’t have time for “dating”

You gotta show this Oz that you’re not pulling his leg or wasting his time.

This means you’re gonna have to lay it on thick, how you admire him, find him inspiring and support his cause.

All of which is true, but it’s the only way to get him to take you seriously.

You’ll know you’ve got the date when he grins at you, chuckling. You think he’s gonna turn you away but the slight blush to his cheeks assure you’ve got a date with him. 

Batman The Animated Series:

He will roll his eyes and actively ignore you.

He doesn’t need to be the butt of another joke for Gotham’s elite to laugh at. 

You’re not part of high society? So, it doesn’t matter, it’s all a joke anyway.

This Oz has been particularly hurt by these kinds of relationships backfiring on him. 

While the others can grin at you and don’t mind entertaining the notion (except for Gotham), this Oswald will be downright cold with you and will turn you down instantly.

He’ll probably hurt your feelings, but that’s because he’s been hurt and burned before.

You’ll have to be patient more than persistent. You’ll have to prove that you do want to be with him, and not for clout or a quick joke. 

It will take time and he will be extremely standoff-ish, but give him time. He’ll smile at you, holding out his hand, and he’ll ask, “so…uh…about that date?” 

And it’ll all be worth it.

Honestly, wouldn’t put it past him to be the one who got it for you, but he wasn’t sure you’d have the guts to actually put it on.

He would insist you wear it when it’s a busy night at the Iceberg Lounge

Oz would want you walking around, strutting. 

They can look if they want, get distracted and have their money get swiped. 

If they even try to touch you, they’re dead.

Reevesverse/ Farrell Penguin:

Once you walk in wearing the dress, you immediately have him speechless. 

He puts his hand to his heart, making sure it’s still beating. That he hasn’t just up and died in his sleep.

“Bellissima…” He puts down his cigar and is automatically waving you to come closer. 

“I need to make sure you’re real, sweetheart.” 

He makes you blush more than you expected to make him blush. 

Oz is full of praises as he stands up, holding your hand, and twirls you around so he can see all of you.

He contemplates whether or not he wants to see you out in his club like this. 

Sure he wants to show you off, but he’s possessive and if you were to go out there, you’d have to stick to his side 24/7 (which you do anyway)

“You look gorgeous in anything you put on. But right now, this one is my favorite, just second behind you wearing nothing.”

He snickers as you playfully  his shoulder, but you both know it’s true. 

Expect Ozzie to go searching for more variety of this type of dress and gifting ALL of them to you. 

Gotham Penguin:

He’s literally flabbergasted. 

There’s no way this was your idea, surely some set up with Tabitha or Barbara. 

Whether that’s true or not, he’s brain is still short-circuiting. 

His mouth is constantly opening and closing like a fish out of water. 

His eyebrows furrow in confusion for some minutes. How does a dress like that even work? 

You’re gonna have to get closer to him and snap him out of it.

But you gotta be quick, once he’s conscious you gotta make sure he doesn’t get lost again.

You offer some conversation, “d-do you like it Oswald?” 

It takes him a minute to come back to lucidity, but he finally starts making sentences…somewhat.

“I-I uh, um, i-it’s stunning y-you look stunning! W-where did you get that?” 

“I found it out while shopping with Tabby.” 

Oz rolls his eyes he figured as much. 

He won’t allow anyone to see you in the dress, this view is for his eyes only. 

If anyone even caught you putting on socks, he’d kill them. Just imagine if they even caught a sliver of a glance of you in this dress. 

Something feral and possessive comes over him at the thought. 

The dress teases just enough to show all his favorite areas to kiss and nibble on you. 

He does love the dress but he needs it off of you – like now.

Batman the Animated Series Penguin:

Also another one stunned into speechlessness. 

You’re lucky if you get anything like a squawk out of him. 

Even his birds got silent when they saw you.

“M-M-My goodness…” such a soft boy, takes off his hat and is literally trying to wipe away the sweat with a handkerchief. 

“Do you like it?” You gave him a 360 spin so he could take it all in. 

I don’t know why but I can see him getting a nosebleed? His face is fire engine red and his blinking rapidly as if trying to make sure his eye balls don’t stretch out like a Tex Avery cartoon. 

“I-I-...I’m speechless, darling. You look absolutely alluring like a siren…” He breathes out breathlessly. 

You can’t help but giggle at his gentle and polite nature. He was just too damn sweet for his own good sometimes. 

This Ozzie will also be strongly opposed to anyone seeing you in the dress. He’s definitely one of the more possessive Oswalds (I genuinely think they all are pretty possessive and greedy)

He's honestly just so gobsmacked that you're with him and that you love him. The fact you love him enough to do things like this to surprise him and bless him with your beauty.

The New Batman Adventures: 

(I honestly wasn’t sure whether to add this one or not, the design is different and it's considered like both a revamped season of BTAS but also it's own thing since it takes place two years after events in BTAS, and the DVD collection just calls TNBA season 4?? so idk but he does have some difference to BTAS so there's that)

He's taken aback. You could hear his audible gasp.

Oz's mouth hangs for a second in just awe. 

"My, my, my…my gorgeous dove…you look absolutely ravishing."  

He may be speechless and stunned but at least he's more capable of functioning speech. 

Oz walks over to you, his eyes admiring you up and down as he circles around you. 

He removes his gloves and reaches out to hold you. He's surprised just how sheer and thin the material is. It's almost like he's just touching your skin. 

He is absolutely beaming with pride and adoration. 

He definitely doesn't mind either or if you wore it out to the Iceberg Lounge. 

He wouldn't mind showing off to everyone in Gotham that your gorgeous being was his. 

But he'd also be pleased to keep it as a naughty secret between the two of you

Also much like Farrell Oz, expect him to probably give you more dresses in a similar fashion for you to try on.

He's immediately up and on his feet to take a closer look. 

When you tell him it was just something you found and thought he may enjoy, he snickers.

Feeling just how little the fabric is. He could easily tear it off you in a heartbeat but he decides against it.

A part of me sees him both wanting to show you off smugly to his colleagues but also doesn't want to give them the satisfaction of seeing most of you like this. 

If you want to wear it out with him, he won't argue, but you can guarantee if anyone disrespects you in any way, he won't hesitate to knock their lights out. 

And introducing a new Penguin to the roster…One Bad Day Penguin (cause he can fucking get it, but no worries, no spoilers but if you’ve read it you’re in for a treat, and if you haven't yet, I genuinely can't recommend it enough) 

One Bad Day Penguin: 

Damn, just when he thought you couldn't be anymore attractive. 

You've already got him wrapped around your finger, and now he's wrapped up that much tighter. 

You were drop dead gorgeous. The exotic dancers at his club never could hold a candle to you.

And you in this dress further confirms that statement. 

You saunter your way over closer to him. Giving him a 360° turn. 

"What do you think, Ozzie?"

"I think I'm the luckiest man on the planet.." he replies with no hesitation. 

When you're close enough, his arms are immediately wrapped around you. 

"Damn, it's like you're not wearing anything at all…" He mutters as his hands roam across your skin. His finger tracing along the sheer patterns of the dress. 

His breathing is hitched and his touch to your skin was electrifying. 

It's a miracle he's keeping it together as well as he does. 

He usually adores showing you off but this dress may have to be just between you two. 

Oz can't guarantee he won't rip off anyone and everyone's head that lingered their eyes a little too long on you. 

In moments like this, so intimate and tense from arousal. 

He can definitely feel the little animal in him ready to pounce on you, immediately.

Kissing the Penguins Under the Mistletoe

Arkhamverse Penguin:

First off, kudos to you for being determined enough to try and seek him out for so long. Your Ozzie never seemed to take a night off, however you stayed fast and true. Thankfully, you two already had dinner plans and you planned to strike then. 

After the first course was over, you two were waiting on desert when you held the iconic plant above your heads. Oswald noticed your arm was up, and followed it to the mistletoe in your hands. 

Oswald chuckled heartily. “Well, isn’t that a cheeky trick?” 

“Not a trick, just a surprise. A sweet on at that.” You smiled slowly leaning in. 

“You got that right, love.” Oz hummed, extremely pleased. 

You two met in the middle and shared a sweet kiss in honor of the holidays and your love for one another. 

Reevesverse/Farrell Penguin:

You were all smiles and laughs, you were positively glowing, and Oswald was absolutely enraptured by you. You looked gorgeous tonight, for the Iceberg Lounge Christmas Party. He didn’t want you to leave his side, not ever really, but especially not tonight when you looked this amazing. 

“C’mere, I gotta surprise for you, sweetheart.”

“Ozzie! Christmas isn’t for another couple days!” 

“It’s okay, honey. These gifts…are the gifts that keep on givin’.” He smiled. He had his hand behind his back as he walked back over to you. 

There was a moment of silence. 

“Well, close your eyes, sweetheart.” 

You scoff but oblige him anyway. You feel something cut through the air beside you. 

“Okay, open.” 

You look and see his arm is above your head, and you look to see a mistletoe. 

You giggled as you wrapped your arms around Oswald. “You’re right, these gifts do keep on giving.” You turn your head to the side and kiss him, sweetly. 

Gotham Penguin:

Oswald never cared too much about the holidays. Just another obstacle, another element to consider in his plans…until he met you anyway. 

He’s never been big on the holiday season, but if it brings you joy, he’ll tolerate it…to a certain extent. 

The mistletoe being one of the few elements that he takes pleasure in. 

You came up behind him while he was reading the newspaper in the study. “Hey, Ozzie…” you giggled. 

“What’re you up to, Y/N?” He asked looking over his shoulder at you. 

Your eyes glanced up to your hand that held the mistletoe. “I caught you under the mistletoe…y’know what that means?” 

You leaned your head over onto his shoulder. Oswald stifles a laugh, but smiles up at you. 

“Indeed I do, but you didn’t have to go such lengths to ask for a kiss…”

You shushed him, smiling, and leaned into kiss him. 

BTAS Penguin:

For once, Oswald can actually enjoy these holidays with someone. He loathed those around him that had friends, family, and partners to share the season with. 

Now that he has you, he doesn’t have to wither in loathing anymore. If anything he understands why those young couples can’t keep their hands off each other. Why they don’t care if the world sees them. It’s how he felt in regards to you. 

“Hey, Ozzie! I need your help with something!” You called from the living room of his apartment. 

“Coming, my dove!” 

He never really cared for the decorating portion of the holidays, but it made you happy to put somethings up so he obliged. 

He stopped in front of you. “What do you need help with, darling?” He asked, looking for the problem. 

“Umm…your birds seem to want something, but I can’t figure out what.” You pointed to the doves flying just above your heads. 

When Oswald looked up, you had to stifle the laugh when you heard him gasp. One dove was holding the mistletoe by his beak and the other flew around it’s partner. 

Oswald looked down with a lovestruck look on his face and you had to let your giggles out. 

“Surprise!” You giggled as you walked closer to him, putting your hands on his shoulders. 

Oswald chuckled. “Surprise indeed, very clever indeed, my dear.” 

“Only the best for you, Ozzie.” You leaned down, turned your head to the side and planted a kiss on his lips. 

TNBA Penguin:

Oswald was looking for you. The party was in full swing, much thanks to your diligent planning and immaculate problem solving. Now he just wants to enjoy it all with you. 

He asked several of the partygoers, he didn’t get many helpful answers. Thankfully, one of the waiters tapped him on the shoulder and informed him you were out on the balcony. 

Oswald, was confused but was just grateful to have a location. 

“Darling dove, what’re you doing out here?” He asked while standing along the threshold separating the inside from the outside. 

You turned around from looking out into the city and smiled. “Just getting some fresh air, I was going to come back in soon, dear.” 

You walked over to him and held your hands out for him to hold in his. 

“Let me know, next time, dearest. I was running around looking for you.” He kissed the back of your hand. 

“I didn’t mean to make you worry, Ozzie. I’ll let you know next time.”

As Oswald was looking up at you, something caught his eye that hung between the both of you. 

“Oh my, I wonder who put that up there…” He commented under his breath. 

You followed his line of sight to the lone mistletoe hanging on the top of the threshold. 

You smiled, looking back down to Oz. “Well, rules are rules…”

Oswald chuckled. “Indeed so…” He tucked your chin in between his thumb and index finger as he dragged your head down to his level. Both of you turned your heads the opposite direction and leaned into a kiss. Your hands slowly coming up to cup his head, holding it sternly, as if to make the kiss last longer. 

Telltale Penguin: 

Oz was begrudgingly helping you decorate. Since he lost his family and moved away, he never really gave the holidays a second thought. Any sort of joy he could get out of the holiday was void…well until you came along. 

You two were able to settle on a small tree which you were decorating now. However, you didn’t notice that there was another little decoration that Oz slipped past you. 

Oz came up behind you while you were focused on the tree. 

He tapped you on your shoulder, when you turned around he quickly held up a tiny mistletoe in between his fingers. 

You saw his hand shot up, and followed it to the plant in his hand. 

You giggled while you slowly shook your head. “Smooth…very smooth Cobblepot..” You commented, wrapping your arms around his neck. 

Oz keeps one arm up and the other goes to wrap around your waist. “You know I can never resist you, love.” 

You brought your lips to Oz’s and he let his arm come down to join his other in a warm and loving embrace.  

One Bad Day Penguin:

“Y/N, what’re you doing?” 

“Oh, nothing, just helping Lili pick up.” 

The party just wrapped up for the evening. Everyone had a blast, as they usually did. The one holiday they had to celebrate at the Iceberg Lounge with Umbrella Man…was really only a one-man party. 

“Sweetness, you nor Lili should worry about that. That’s why we have a maintenance crew.” 

As if on cue, one of the members of the wait staff grabbed the trash you had gathered in your hands. 

“Point taken.” 

“Where is Lili, anyway? Wanted to tell her good night before we turn in.” 

“Right here, love birds!” She hollered. 

Oswald and you looked up to the second level, she was hanging over the upper floor railing. A familiar plant hung pinched between her index finger and thumb. 

You could hear her mischievous chuckle from the upper level. Meanwhile, as you were trying to get over being duped by Lili. Oswald slowly made his way closer to you. 

“Well, you know me, I’m a traditional man.” Oz grinned. 

“Oh, hardy har har..” You roll your eyes while simultaneously cupping his face in between your hands. 

As you leaned down to meet your lips with his, the two of you couldn’t help but chuckle into the kiss as you heard Lili celebrating from upstairs. 

The Batman (2004) Penguin:

I have no doubt beyond a shadow of a doubt that this Ozzie has a mistletoe on a long stick at the ready. From December 1st to the 31st.  He’s extremely stingy and selfish for any of your affections. Kisses, hugs, you carrying him around bridal style, combing your hand through his hair…he wants it all.

You’re aware of this tactic to steal every kiss from you every chance he gets with the mistletoe, so you try and tease him back. December 1st, you kiss his head. December 11th, you kiss his cheek. Ozzie gets mushy, but once he realizes he’s kind of been cheated out of an actual kiss he gets huffy. 

Once, December 25th rolls around however, you come up with the mistletoe on your own and plant a big ol’ unsuspecting kiss on him. For all the trouble he went through and for you teasing him through most of the month. 

Batman Unlimited Penguin: 

The holidays were always a rough time for Oswald. 

Reminders of all the things he didn’t have. Family, friends, a lover, someone to celebrate the festivities with. It was hard enough living day by day, with people constantly enjoying their time with loved ones. Almost like they were mocking him, now because of the holidays, that’s amplified tenfold. 

Fortunately though, he wasn’t alone this year. 

“Aww…Ozzie! You look terrific! I knew that red sweater would look magnificent on you!” 

Speak of the Devil, there you were, however you were more like an angel. 

“Oh, uh..yes…and it is quite comfortable.” Oz added. 

“I’m so glad to hear it. It definitely suits you, darling.” You smiled. 

Oswald’s heart felt fuller by the minute. The heart he could have sworn was broken in two by humanity’s cruel hand a long, long time ago. Yet, you’ve managed to sew it back together. 

“Oh, I got another surprise for you!” You beamed. 

“My dear, if you keep coming up with surprises, there won’t be any left for the holiday.” Oswald chuckled. 

“Oh, it’s fine! You deserve them all! Besides, this one I know both you and I will enjoy.” You winked. 

Oz’s cheeks began dusting a faint pink. “Oh, very well, what is it?”

Your eyes shot a glance up to the low ceiling of your shared apartment. His eyes followed yours to see a mistletoe dangling from the roof. 

Oswald’s eyes widened and the faint pink turned to a bright red. 

“Oh..I-I…hehe..” He smiles back at you sheepishly. 

You giggle as you cup his cheek, turning his head up to face you. “I told you we’d both enjoy it.” 

“T-t-that you did, darling.” 

You both leaned in for a sweet and gentle kiss.

- Nightwing apparently ruined their trip to the docks to retrieve a shipment of weapons. 

- Veins along Oswald’s neck and hands were popping. 

- "Hey Ozzie wozzie! I was just wanting– oh! So sorry I didn't know you were having a meeting! 

- Oz's face instantly went white as a sheet as all the blood and heat from his anger was drained. 

- He looked over his shoulder, a slight shaky smile on his face. "Uhh yeah..its all right, love. I'll be with you in a minute, yeah?" 

- You nodded beaming happily as you closed the door. 

- Some hushed snickers could be heard from his men

- Only for them to be silenced by a slamming fist to the table.

- "I better not hear a peep out of any of you about that…or else you're all gonna be lunch to the Croc! Now…back to business."

Reevesverse/Farrell Penguin:

- I am not entirely sure why, but I can imagine this Oz likes beating you to the punch?

- He knows how you normally greet him, especially when you usually assume he’s alone. 

- So as a countermeasure if he’s in a meeting or is talking to security, he beats you to the pet names. 

- “Yes, sweetheart?” “What’s going on, sugar?” 

- However, that doesn’t always stop you from throwing in a “pengy baby”, “my handsome penguin”, and of course a personal favorite; “daddy”.

- Oz may scratch the back of his neck nervously, but chuckle all the same. 

- It can be somewhat embarrassing but he adores you too much for it to get to him. 

- Nobody better ridicule you or himself when you do it, or there will be hell to pay. 

- He also doesn’t care if his men get annoyed, they just better keep it to themselves. 

Gotham Penguin:

- Okay, but no seriously…could you not? 

- It’s hard enough as it is to appear intimidating and go by “The Penguin”. 

- He knows you mean well, you don't really think twice about his reputation…

- You just see your sweet, endearing, and loving Oswald. 

- Oswald would be having a meeting with his people at the long dining table. With Butch standing at his side. 

- You come in cheerfully to see Oz, without even noticing he's in company.

- Silence fills the room, a pin could be heard.

- Oswald tried to remedy it by patting your hand and telling you he won't be long…

- You nod and lean in to kiss his cheek before running off.

- He shoots daggers to Butch who continues to chortle under his breath.

- He’s stuck between lovestruckness and slight embarrassment. 

- Oswald doesn’t want you to stop, but knows he probably needs you too.

- He does have somewhat of a reputation to uphold in the criminal underworld. 

- Oswald adores that you are so comfortable and adore him enough to bless him with a pet name. 

- He won't be harsh or short with you, even if he's griping to his henchmen. 

- It will literally be night and day the way he interacts with you and his henchmen.

- "You fools! If your absolute incompetence continues to hinder my schemes, I will-!" 

- "Oswald? Where are you my handsome pengy?" 

- The slightest snicker comes from one of his men and Oswald is quick to silence them with a terrifying stare. 

- If they mention this incident to anyone, they will be bird food.

TNBA Penguin:

- Not that he doesn’t appreciate the sentiments…

- He just can’t exactly reciprocate them at the moment when he’s trying to take charge. 

- There are moments he won't mind, like if he's entertaining guests at the Lounge.

- Oz would lavish in the adoration you're giving him, and it shows a different side to him. 

- He's likely to tell you beforehand if he's discussing things with more…dangerous individuals. 

- It's more or less to protect you, but also to ensure you don't let any pet names slip up. 

- Whenever it does happen, he still keeps his cool meanwhile he's trying to hide his blush and not stammer his words.

Telltale Penguin:

- Why? You know how embarrassing this is for him!

- “Hey Ozzie wozzie, I was just wondering-”

- “No..no..don’t say another word.” 

- You honestly revel in his exasperated head shakes and exhausted sighs. 

- He won't ever admit it, but he does actually like it deep down. 

- He likes the fact you're comfortable enough around him to tease and mess with him. 

- The fact that you love him so much and in such a way that warrants you to give him stupid cute nicknames. 

- Sometimes he's agitated whenever you do it in front of his crew.

- But his crew knows better not to mention it ever again after an incident.

One Bad Day Penguin:

- Oh boy…

- God it’s a good thing you’re cute, it makes you get away with…well everything. 

- He’s wiping his face and pinching the bridge of his nose. 

- It’s not like he can stop you. 

- Oz does find it incredibly adorable. 

- He can't help that his face may flush just slightly. 

- Kinda like Farrell Penguin, he's also likely to dish it back to you with cutesy pet names.

- The only people allowed to tease him or mess with him about it are Lili and Freida.

The Batman (2004) Penguin:

- Ozzie groans as a cringey chill went down his spine. 

- Really? "Ozzie wozzy??"

- And in front of his criminal peers in jail? 

- You do realize he's got a reputation to protect, right? 

- He's gone toe to toe with Batman, Joker, Riddler, and even had a rag-tag team of villains of his own! 

- Oh but that…that doesn't stop you from doing it…

- It gets to a point that he doesn't even debate you or show his disdain for nicknames at least in public.

- He just becomes defensive whenever people tease him about your nicknames for him. 

- "What're you laughing at? You're just jealous!"

Batman Unlimited Penguin:

- This Oswald takes a minute to respond. 

- He’s still getting used to the foundations of a relationship…

- He completely disregarded the usage of pet names and when and where they’re appropriate to use. 

- It takes awhile for Oswald to get used to your nicknames…but they make him feel absolutely elated.

- He may be embarrassed if you do it in front of others...

- But only for a moment...because embarrassment is quickly replaced with adoration.

- If anyone mocks him or you for your endearments he's swift to silence them. 

- He's gone far too long with affection, far too long he's yearned to be addressed lovingly. 

- Oswald would be damned if he let some random henchperson or passerby get in the way of that.

The Penguins Reacting To Reader Squishing Their Faces

Arkhamverse Penguin:

Don’t get him wrong, he absolutely loves the adoration. Any touch of yours is a blessing to him. After being handed the cold, judgmental, harsh hand of reality for so long for someone the likes of him, he welcomes your touches and all they entail. Caresses, squishes, pats, massages, loves them all. 

Maybe, just maybe, do it when he’s not having a meeting with his crew. He doesn’t care what anyone says, but it’s hard to take him seriously when you’re sitting next to him squishing his cheeks. 

“Love, please…as much as I love it when you touch me…I’ve got business to tend do.”

Reevesverse/Farrell Penguin:

Okay, but good luck trying to squish his face, cause nine times out of ten he’s probably squishing yours. He loves to grab your face with his index finger and thumb pressing against your cheeks and drag you into a kiss. You face is so squished your lips are already puckered up and ready to be kissed upon.

Whenever you do manage to squish his face in between your hands, he’s beaming with happiness and adoration for you. He likes it when you run your thumbs just below his eyes, no doubt massaging some bags there that have developed. Just another sweet way you have of taking a little bit of the load off his shoulders. 

You smiled down sweetly at him as you continue to rub your thumbs along his cheeks. Occasionally squeezing them. 

“I swear sweetheart. I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve a touch as sweet as yours…” He grabs one of your hands and kisses the palm of it. 

Gotham Penguin:

Wait, what? W-What…oh you’re, you’re squeezing his face now. Um why? Poor boy is mad confused, it is going to take sometime for him to warm up to the prospect. He just feels silly about it, like you’re treating him like a child. 

However, he can’t deny he enjoys the way your eyes light up at the close proximity of your faces and how your hands ultimately warm his usually cooler face. It takes some time for him to get used to it, but once he does, every time you do it it makes his day infinitely better. 

“I-I think I’m beginning to understand the appeal..” He muttered one morning, when you give him his daily cuteness aggression squishes. He will actively try and do it in return, and you’re over the moon when he does. 

BTAS Penguin:

“Oh, oh, yes, dove?” 

At first, he thinks you’re just trying to get his attention. When you tell him you just wanted to squish his face cause he was just too cute, he’s instantly blushing. He’s chuckling gleefully, as he holds your hands to his face so they can stay there longer. 

He will never grow weary of how you show him your affections, it’s unlike anything he’s ever experienced before and you always manage to surprise him in the best ways. I can also see him coming up to you and grabbing your wrists and bringing your hands to his face. Instant stress relief your touch brings him. 

“Mind if I borrow your touch, it’ll just be for a minute, my dove.” How could you not squish his face after that, once you do his small smile grows into a proud grin. 

TNBA Penguin: 

He chuckles, “well, what’s the cause of all this?” He puts one hand up to hold on of your hands cupping his cheeks. 

“I can’t help it, Ozzie. You’re just so darn cute!” You squeal softly, squishing his cute face.

This Oswald is very keen on keeping a sophisticated…cool, calm, and collected image. However, he can’t even help absolutely melting at your admission for your sentimental gesture. He absolutely revels in your touch. Beaming proudly and hopelessly in love. 

Another pengy that appreciates the devotion and affection but also…not while he’s busy. If he’s running around tending to his club or having another interrogation with Batman, may not be the best time. But best believe, he’d love nothing more than for your hands to be all over him later though.  He’d also be glad to return the favor tenfold. 

Telltale Penguin:

“Ugh, love, Y/N…really?” 

This pengy is the epitome of “stop it, it’s annoying. I don't like it,” but he actually loves it and you know him well enough to know this. His eyebrows aren’t furrowed, he doesn’t have his usual annoyed scowl on his face (which you find kind of hot, but you don’t dare let him know, he wouldn’t let you live it down). He will roll his eyes and try to form a frown, but you notice the miniscule smirk. 

He appreciates it even more when he comes back and you give him the same amount of attention when his face isn’t all that pretty. Running and fighting in underground boxing tournaments means he comes home with shiners and bruises to his face. 

Just maybe don’t squeeze too hard. 

“Ah-Ah, love, I-I appreciate the gesture, I do, but maybe wait until I’m healed up, yeah?” 

One Bad Day Penguin: 

Oswald’s chuckling, extremely pleased. “What’re you up to, sweetness?” 

You giggled back, wrapping his face in your hands, adoringly. You started kissing his head, cheeks, nose, anywhere you could reach. Oz chuckled some more. 

“What? Can’t I show my man how much I love ‘im?” You leaned your forehead against his. Your hands still periodically squeezing his skin. 

Oswald lives for these moments. He never imagined in his lifetime he’d get the chance to be loved unconditionally. You still manage to surprise him with your gestures, words, and actions. Even after going through the thick and thin of it all, you were still there beside him. You were still his. 

“Yeah, you can show him,” he softly chuckled. “You never seize to amaze me, doll.”

The Batman (2004):

Listen, listen…if it’d been ANYONE else…he would have their head. 

When it’s you though… 

You cup your hands around his cheeks, squish the cute cheek skin there. When you get so enthralled in your touches and kisses, you accidentally lift him up to your level. You’ve literally lifted him up from his feet. And he’s absolute putty in your hands. The redness of his face rivals the orange in his hair.  He adores this, being absolutely suffocated in your love. 

He isn’t ashamed to plop his head in your hands any chance they’re open and free, and you’re more than willing to give him what he wants. All the squishes, kisses, rubs, and everything in between. 

Oz closes his eyes to fully envelope in your hold. “Mm…a guy can get used to this.” 

Batman Unlimited:

He’s sort of confused. Taken aback. Not to sure how to react to your gesture. 

You come up behind him and instantly frame his face with your hands. Not being able to resist the temptation to squeeze the adorable cheeks underneath your thumbs. 

“Uh…w-what’s this about, darling?” 

“Oh nothing, Ozzie. You just looked so cute, I couldn’t help it.” You giggled. 

C-cute? You found him cute? 

You two have been together for awhile, but it still surprises Oswald just how much you genuinely love him. You never ceased to amaze him, he knows who he is…what he looks like. He knows he’s not the easiest man in the world to love, but yet here you were. Squishing his face, kissing his head, telling him he was cute. 

He took one of his hands and covered it over yours, as he leans into your touch. Oswald reaches out and cups one of your cheeks with his other hand. 

“And you, my darling, are absolutely precious.”
