BEHOLD!!!!! ITS THE MOTHAFUCKIN BOYYYY!!!!

took me a while to build up the motivation, (and get my freakin hands to cooperate) but i finally made a design!!!! fairly simple but its ma son finally in the flesh!!!

here is the silly moff as requested by @browzerhistory!

its. a lil janky but it dont matter shes perfect and i love her (i was trying to do more detailed anatomy but my brain was scrambly so it had the opposite effect lmao)

ive gotten a pretty solid idea of how Shei's shapeshifting affects their presentation and just subtle feature or traits, its based on his mental state and how that affects him maintaining his appearance.

in a neutral but more conscious state, such as talking to a stranger or going somewhere, hes maintaining his form and is effectively identical to a human.

but in a more relaxed state such at at home, they loosen up a bit, dont focus on keeping appearances as much. so he can appear more uncanny or creature-y.

note the visible fangs, hair twitching like an animal ear in response to sound, since its really just a sort of living filament, and of course the neck stretching and twisting unnaturally.

i could do more examples of different mental states, but uhhh later.

Honestly I don't think I'm gonna keep shei's whole thing with shapeshifting being inherently painful and like the painkiller addiction n stuff. I'd imagine it's still painful if he has to do it a lot or something especially taxing, just to represent exhaustion/overworking. But like I think they can do it casually and it's even comforting.

Instead I think it's gonna be maintaining human form that's going to be difficult for them. Imagine it's been a long day for him, tired as fuck. Overstimulated as fuck. At the edge of his rope, trying to make it home so he can decompress without causing a scene. Hoping nobody notices that he's given up trying to make a realistic face entirely and the audible bone snapping as his body reflexively tries to force its way out of his disguise. He finally gets home and practically explodes out of his skin. An hour later Vidri gets off of work and sees Shei sorta growing/crawling halfway up the wall with just an arm and head formed sipping a juice box and watching future-ytps and is just like

"dam. Long day huh?"

"Blrghbrghlr"

Hey what if in Singularity there just. Wasn't any outside. Like the megacities grew so large they consumed everything like cancer. Everything is just claustrophobic halls and rooms and a little bit of open space in markets or streets. Obviously there's still an ecosystem, creatures slink through abandoned sections, plants expand cracks in the ceilings, a thick layer of moss lines the tops of the cities, and marine life struggles in what is left of the oceans.
