thinking about that time I made a gnome farm in terraria...
cant give exact numbers, but it was a hell of a lot more efficient than any other ones i'd seen online
#I amassed over 1000 garden gnomes#terraria#terraria farm#gnome#gnome farm#there can only be like 15 gnomes spawned at one time#and for each gnome spawned the spawn chance for additional gnomes decreases#so making an insane spawn optimized build would just be wasted#gnomes sell for a couple gold each so its nice for early game money

i officially have like 27 hours of lunacid gaming within at least 2 weeks and yeah. the game is very very fun !!!! im pretty much at the end game but I've been grinding for some achievements before i do the final boss JSJWKSKSKKSKS

you know, originally, I was going to use the Terraformer to purify this world (trying for the And Good Riddance! achievement), but I went through the trouble of getting this DCU, so why not just destroy the parts of this world that are corrupt/hallow and aren't too close to housing, with the Terraformer as a fine-toothed comb?
#terraria#I'm never walking to the snow biome anyways. I've got the pylon network and by god I'm going to use it#so that part of the world can be completely destroyed#same for the part behind the dungeon. I'm never going there when there's a beach on the other side of the world with a pylon set up#the hallow will be harder to get rid of. it's got very little on the surface because of how it generated#and a good chunk of that surface space is used for housing because almost all of my housing is hollow side for some reason#which also happens to be close (but not close enough for crowding) to my jungle housing#it's a shame to force the wizard and party girl to live in the forest but that's unfortunately the outcome every time#but because of the proximity I can't use the DCU there#so the terraformer will have to do#I probably want to keep some pearlstone to create an artificial underground hallow between spawn and the snow biome#so that I can farm for the rod of discord#but I'll do that before I finish removing the hallow completely

i've determined i will probs never play minecraft again bc the sheer amount of content, while amazing, also is overwhelming to the highest degree but gameplay videos are highly enjoyable. also since finding creativerse it just hits better and terraria is like my happy (moddable) medium.
#plus since they introduced columns npcs block rotation AND painting i have been OBSESSED#like don't get me wrong Minecraft is a lot of fun but there's just SO MUCH#Terraria can be a bit overwhelming at times too especially bc i like it modded but even then i feel like there's less to it#maybe just a bit more emphasis on mob farming#ngl the devs hope to bring mods to creativerse but idk how plausible that is but is2g if they make it a reality i'll lose my shit#it's basically all that i feel is missing#the style/textures are wonderful and the variety of blocks/decor you can craft is unreal#plus being able to tame 99% of mobs is just???? chef's kiss#don't get me started on how they have wiring instead of redstone which means you don't need an acre to set up machines and TELEPORTERS#also similarly to Terraria you can transfer resources from one world to another??? you just have to unlock and craft the chest#there's also the fact that once you get the right npcs almost everything is renewable without having to terraform#one of them even multiplies the drops you get from tamed creatures#i would like to see more customization for the base character model but dressing my character like a witchy green chicken has been hilarious#in short all of them are amazing but creativerse just appeals to me most#oh! going back to the modding thing if they did introduce it i think with the right people the game could become a 3d terraria#which is a DREAM to me#though Terraria was on a whole other level with the bosses/random events#like the mechanical bosses stressed me the fuck out and wof when i was beginning#i don't think i even ever made it to plantera on my last long run roflmao or any of them tbh#blood moon and goblin invasion was always fun and good for money#hadn't quite figured out the stairs situation though so npcs could traverse up AND down but it's fine#Falling Apart And Coming Together

fellow terraria players/completionists. has anyone managed to obtain the painting “Remnants of Devotion”? googling it comes up with exactly 3 results, all of which are just lists of every item in the game and give no information on how to actually get it.
#ghost town... 2!#terraria#i have tried:#generating several worlds and checking the dungeon#fishing in the dungeon#it looks too special to just randomly generate in ordinary underground cabins#it isn't in any of the cultists' drop pools#and i'm assuming someone would have said something about it by now if it was a travelling merchant item but that seems the most likely still#so i think either it's an extremely rare traveling merchant thing OR it's just unobtainable#which would be weird since this is the ''last update''#i'm gonna farm the TM for a while more once i have the energy for it but i wanna check if anyone else has any info
