no but like on a serious note, i know fandom believes claire left without a second thought but if you think about the fact that leon had to do the big voice to make her leave because she didn't want to go. and there's guilt in her mind because chris has been her whole everything since forever, sacrificed anything for her but she's sitting on an uncomfortable motel chair watching sherry sleep and something tugs at her heart.

because claire is 19 and under no obligation to become this child's parent figure but she holds sherry's hand everywhere they go and lets her twirl a strand of her hair while falling asleep as a way to calm down and feel safe. and she can't lie, but she's starting to understand how fucking hard it must have been for chris to raise her - at least sherry doesn't make her life difficult by being unnecessarily defiant.

no, sherry always sits quietly and asks questions only when claire explains the plans for their next moves. and claire knows it's not the way a child should act but also it's not like she and leon have any other choices, they don't know what they're doing either. and they probably argue in whispers while claire cleans the wound on his shoulder, they talk about food and finding a car, that even motels are getting expensive for their little budget.

they talk about chris and how it's november and claire is still pretending not to know what her brother's note actually means. and there's an heaviness and the sense of something bad happening as soon as she's out the door - promised sherry that she would come back and kissed leon goodbye just to come back to everything absolutely destroyed.

do not ask her if it was worth. ( she did find chris in the end and steve was dear to her, but the resentment and guilt are always there even now )

you know i think it readily becomes apparent where the creators of re movies’ loyalties lie where you realize that really the only organization that our heroes work for that gets routinely criticized…is the human rights organization

like in degeneration, they pin the blame for the terrorist attack and lack of resources to put it out on terrasave acting on the knowledge they had at the time to try and stop big evil pharma, and although they end up being right, the blame falls entirely on claire/terrasave and claire spends a good amount of time believing it, even saying “it’s all our fault” and when leon comforts her, he says what she does is noble but the creators also have to slip in “well leon and chris, they’re fighters, they’re cool guys. but uh feel bad for claire i guess” then in infinite darkness we barely even see her doing terrasave work, just at the beginning, then she researches the mad dogs and finds the suicide, then she gets kidnapped, then the climax. like claire really has NO bearing on the actual PLOT going on except for exposition, meanwhile all the stuff we WANNA watch goes to cool government agent man. then in fucking death island, the one time i thought the movie was GOING to actually criticize the institutions these guys work for, who’s organization gets shit on the most by other characters and even called terrorists between the government, a private military, and a human rights ngo? go ahead. guess.

its actually kinda crazy you sent this because i was just thinking about it while i rewatched death island.

like, i literally was thinking about how messed up it is that an organization that works completely independently from a government, that gets its funding through things like donations, grants, and membership dues, that has to meet legal requirements to get registers to administer aid, that has hundreds, maybe even thousands of employees across the globe, is so heavily criticized in a series where the government literally nuked a city and covered it up to save a huge corporation's ass

and like idk, how realistic is it for terrasave to even get away with all this stuff? i'm not saying it can't happen, but so far terrasave has been called out for so much, like starting outbreaks, members secretly working with terrorist orgs, and other vague bad stuff the series won't go into detail on. i feel like if an anti-terrorist ngo was always in trouble for doing terrorism, they wouldn't be able to work. especially since governments will sometimes try to limit their power and diminish the aid they can give out.

and consider this: the BSAA works with the united nations. you know who else works with the united nations? ngos. granted, they're different since terrasave is a humanitarian group and the bsaa is a paramilitary agency, but considering the point is to combat bioterrorism, the difference between how they're treated in the games is ridiculous. i know now the bsaa is corrupt as of re village (i think), terrasave has been called corrupt since the moment it was shown.

i feel like if they wanted to go through with the "corrupt ngo" route they could do something more along the lines of terrasave destabilizing the communities it works in or maybe the people within it take bribes or don't use the money for its intended purpose. but yeah the way capcom goes "look at how UNRELIABLE these humanitarian groups are! the only ones who can save them are the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and SOLDIERS and COOL PEOPLE" like gtfo

Survived six months on an island alone and still was sassy towards a Wesker, I love her. Gave Moira a design! Before giving characters from re7 and re8 a design, I wanted to give characters from Revelations 2 a design. I just really wanted to draw Barry’s family and Alex Wesker lol. So I started with Moira and plan to give Natalia a ref. sheet next!

Design fact: She’s a mix of her mom and dad! She shares a lot of her markings with Barry but looks more like her mom Kathy physically, who I haven’t given a ref. sheet to but will soon. Also her skull necklace is worn at all times!

the same old leaks for re9 couldn't be more fake but the fact that there are people out there praying on claire's downfall makes me want to fight them in a wendy's parking lot at 3am

No because Krauser faked his death because he believed the viruses’ power should be used by the US government/military and not be destroyed, and it led him to his real death.

All of that for the BSAA and the us government to start using BOW against evil BOW.

And don’t let me talk about Simmons or Neil or the plot of rev1 or the one of Infinite Darkness.

The fights are getting worse, the tempers hotter, and Moira just dropped the equivalent to a nuclear bomb on Barry when she announced to him she’d be joining TerraSave and working alongside Claire.

Did she do it just to piss him off? Did she do it because she actually believes in its cause? Well, it’s a little bit of both. Moira should have waited until dinner was over before she broke the news to her father. Probably. But the food was tasting a little too boring in her mouth and it just needed that extra pinch of salt to bring out the spices.

Needless to say, her plate was left unfinished as she stormed out of the dining room and straight upstairs to her bedroom. Barry, of course, followed her all the way up to argue with her. And after what felt like a whole hour of arguing, he finally got tired of running in circles and decided to leave her alone.

It only took seconds before Moira fell to her bed, crying. And it took even less for her mom to show up. She would try to wipe away the tears but… why? There’s no point. Her mom already knows how she feels. It’s not the first time she caught her crying after a fight with her dad.

But her mom does it for her—she sits with her and wipes away her tears, and Moira slowly rests her head on her mother’s lap, sniffling. “I just don’t understand. Why can’t he be okay with my choices for fricking once? Why does it always have to be his way or no other way?”

In theory, Moira knows the answer to that, because it’s not the first time she asked these questions. It’s because he wants to protect them, keep them safe, because he loves them, and doesn't want their lives to be in danger. But the only takeaway from that is that her dad is one giant barrel of hypocricy.

“If he really thought this life was so bad, why did he go back to it? Or does only Barry get to do whatever the hell he wants?”

She remembers when Chris and Jill asked him to join them at the B.S.A.A., and how at first he refused. Moira could tell he didn’t refuse because he didn’t want to go back, he refused because he didn’t want to go back on his own words, and because he didn’t want to drag their family back to the same things that had them running away from Raccoon City and moving all the way to Canada in the first place. In the end, though, he went back. He went back because… he couldn’t stay away.

“I still haven’t forgotten…” Her breath hitches. Moira lifts her head up to look into her mom’s eyes. The memory is vivid as she tells it. “That day when… when those men came into our home. When they held their guns at you, me and Polly.” Wesker’s voice as he threatened her dad, and as her dad… in tears, surrendered to that fate. “How does he expect me to stay away from it all, when it’s all I’ve ever known?”
