By the time Hero had found a safe place to stop, Villain had passed out. Initially Hero feared that Villain had succumbed to their wounds, but Villain's soft wheezes became more apparent as time went on.

Villain needed help. Or they wouldn't make it.

"I'm sorry it took me so long to get here." Hero said as they lay Villain down carefully.

Villain's body had been ravaged by Superhero. There wasn't a single part of their body that wasn't wounded or in pain. Hero put a gentle hand on Villain's forehead. "Don't worry. I've got you. I'll take care of you. I'll get you home."

Because Hero had no intention of returning to Base. They had been making progress towards Lair. Towards Villain's home. And towards safety.

Whump of March 2023!

i decided i'm going to experimentally make a post at the end of each month going over my favorite whump that was new & prominent that month. as a general rule i'll mostly only include series that have had at least 2 updates in the month and started fairly recently.

so, here's some AMAZING series to check out! and yes it's mostly vampires because it's my rec list and i love vampires. 🧛

Several new series by @zillastar13, all of which are included at the same link. Personal favorites are Our Man Flint, where a vampyr hunter grapples with being turned into a vampyr himself; Eden, a pet whump story where the whumpee goes stockholm fast; and Blood Sacrifices (18+), about a vampyr who poses as a god and very much abuses that position.

Things End | People Change by @whumpcloud, about a vampire whumper who's been tortured by hunters finally at the mercy of his former victim. (my favorite trope obviously)

An Earthly Cosmological Redshift by @quietly-by-myself, about a vampire mafia underboss and his lover find themselves in a dismal situation.

Poisoned Ivy by @whumpshaped, academia whump! As if whump couldn't get any more harrowing, now it involves being forced to do schoolwork. (Under the Bell Jar, about a tiny whumpee waking up trapped and alone, was also just completed!) This is one of the only two non-vampire entries on this list.

Blood Bag AU by @emmettnet, a fresh vampiric twist with a widely-beloved (now bloodbag) whumpee and his vampiric carewhumper. He's also put out some amazing art this month!

A New Beginning by @a-crumb-of-whump, about a vampire pet whumpee recovering with the now-grown child of his whumpers, isn't really new (though it's also had some great updates this month). But its poll-based spinoff Carlos & Bailey: An Interactive Story is! Now you get 2 vampire pet whumpees.

Magnanimous Moonrise & Savage Sunset (18+) by @not-a-space-alien, about a vampire being experimented on for weapons testing and the hunters who take pity on him, is in a similar boat. It's had some great updates this month along with a brand-new interactive adventure, Savage Sunset CYOA!

Pick Your Poison by @thebluejayswhump, about someone who gets lost in the woods and increasingly strange things occurring while an uncanny sense of dread rises, is another interactive adventure! The second of two non-vampire things on here.

As it turned out, Supervillain did not want Hero to be asleep while they did other things. It didn't have the same impact they had been hoping for when Hero was asleep.

"Oh, sweet Hero," Supervillain whispered as they slid the gag into Hero's mouth, "I simply cannot wait any longer."

Hero's silent slumber began to lift, their brow contorting with pain. "Awaken, my Hero," Supervillain purred, "awaken and know that you are mine."

Hero's eyes shot open, first wide with surprise, then narrowing with anger as they glared up at Supervillain.

"Excellent, now that you are awake, my sweet, I can take my time enjoying you."

Hero growled around the gag and began to struggle, yanking their cuffed wrists away.

"I wouldn't bother with that, Hero, I have you good and trapped." Supervillain traced a finger down Hero's cheek. "And besides, you should be grateful to me. I saved you from Villain. I saved you from death's door. I gave you new life, Hero. And for that you are mine."

Hero glared up at Supervillain as Supervillain trailed their finger lower, hand suddenly tightening at Hero's throat. "Mine to touch. Mine to care for. Mine to do whatever it is that I wish." Hero choked around Supervillain's grip. "And when the time is right, sweet Hero, you are mine to end."

They suddenly released Hero's neck. Hero sucked in huge breaths through their nose, trying to breathe through their fear. Their pain. And their anguish as Supervillain's fingers traced lazy circles around their nipple.

"Fret not, sweet Hero, the end is a long ways off. I will take my time to enjoy you first." Supervillain's hand trailed lower and lower.

Hero's eyes closed tightly as Supervillain's fingers found what they had been wanting to touch, to feel, to taste, and to hold all the while Hero had been unconscious. At Hero's sharp intake of breath, Supervillain knew they had found the right spot. "That's right, sweet Hero, this is all mine. You're all mine," they whispered in Hero's ear, tongue darting out to lick Hero's earlobe. As Supervillain worked Hero in one hand, they suckled on Hero's ear. They traced lazy circles on Hero's nipple with their free hand. Hero's quiet moans around the gag told Supervillain exactly how Hero was feeling. And they were pleased.

Hero was theirs. Theirs to hurt. Theirs to hold. Theirs to touch. And eventually, theirs to end.

Hero stopped just short of Lair, Villain hanging limply in their arms. They had to get Villain in there. But they knew that they wouldn't receive a warm welcome.

And they probably didn't deserve a warm welcome. They hadn't rescued Villain before Superhero ordered them to be tortured. Whatever punishment Supervillain had planned for them, Hero felt was probably appropriate.

"Hold on, just a bit longer," they murmured to Villain. Villain shifted bonelessly in their arms as they ran forward.

"HELP!" Hero roared as they raced towards Lair's entrance. They thought it better to announce their presence than take a chance on being attacked from behind. "I NEED HELP!"

Supervillain appeared out of nowhere. "What do you, oh God! Villain!" Supervillain hurried forward arms outstretched. "What did you you do?"

Before Hero could warn them not to grab Villain from their arms, Supervillain was pulling Villain away. Villain's stifled scream had both Supervillain and Hero jumping. "I need you to help them." Hero said as Villain fell silent once more in their arms.

"What did you do to them?" Supervillain asked as they started towards the door. "Come along," they grumbled.

"I don't know what Superhero ordered to be done. I just know that Superhero hurt them. Hurt them badly."

Supervillain glared at Hero. "Badly doesn't even cover it."

Before Supervillain could interrogate Hero further, Villain moaned with pain. Hero rubbed soothing circles with their thumb on Villain's cheek. Villain fell silent once more.

Supervillain sighed. "Bring them to the med bay with me. We've got work to do."

To Hurt and To End V

Supervillain was very satisfied with Hero. Hero was everything Supervillain had dreamed of. Their soft moans around the gag. The hatred in their eyes as Supervillain touched them. And the quiet rage that kept them from responding to Supervillain. 

“Oh, my sweet, it will be lovely, you just have to let yourself enjoy it. I am a kind, and generous lover,” Supervillain cooed as they continued to work Hero in one hand and caress Hero’s chest with their other. 

Hero glared up at Supervillain, unable to move away due to the cuffs and unable to speak due to the gag. All they could do was glare. And wait. Eventually Supervillain would stop and they could make their move. 

Hero was wrong. 

As Supervillain took their time with Hero over the next few days, Hero realized that Supervillain simply willed them to sleep each time they finished. It was only after Supervillain began to speak about the passage of time that Hero realized it. 

“We’ve had such a good few days, Hero. I’ve been enjoying my time with you. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted. But I’m ready to commence the next phase of our relationship.”

“MMMMphrrr,” Hero growled around the gag as Supervillain pulled out a long, sharp knife. Hero tried to pull away as Supervillain climbed on top of them. 

“Hero, you are mine to hold,” Supervillain cupped Hero’s cheek. “Mine to do as I wish with,” their fingers tranced down Hero’s jaw and to their nipple. Supervillain gave a quick squeeze before speaking again. “Mine to hurt,” they slashed along Hero’s collar bone. 

Hero screamed around the gag as they felt their skin split and hot blood leak from the shallow cut. Supervillain made two more slashes. Hero’s heart was thudding in their chest as they felt the blood begin to coat their skin. This was not good. 

Supervillain gave a wicked grin. “Yes, sweet Hero. Remember, you are mine to hurt.” They slashed once more. “And eventually, you’ll be mine to end.” And they stabbed the knife to the hilt through Hero’s hand.

Supervillain did not like how long it took Hero to heal. It took too many days. Too many days of waiting to wake Hero. Too many days of waiting to begin the end of Hero. Too many days of imagining doing other things to Hero.

It was simply too many days.

Supervillain lay next to Hero on the bed, fingering the cuffs that would keep Hero in the bed once they woke. They caressed Hero's cheek. "Please hurry, I grow tired of waiting for you. There are so many things I cannot wait to do to you."

Supervillain's hand slid down along Hero's jaw as Hero's eyelids began to flutter, their breath quickening. "Soon. Soon you will know exactly who you belong to."

Supervillain let their hand rest at the base of Hero's throat, fingers digging in slightly. Hero's face pinched with pain, gasping breaths returning once more. "But not just yet. You're not quite healed enough yet. Rest still, my Hero. Rest and be well."

Hero's face relaxed, their breathing returning once more to the slow and even rhythm. Supervillain's hand continued to caress down Hero's body. "But perhaps I'll get started with some other things while I wait for you."

Supervillain carefully lay Hero down in the bed. "What did Villain do to you?"

Hero's face was bloodied and bruises, their breaths coming in short wheezes. Supervillain was very displeased with their apprentice. Didn't they know that Hero was theirs and theirs alone to hurt. To end. And, as Supervillain stared down at the unconscious Hero, they realized to do other things to.

"Don't worry," Supervillain said as they gently cuffed Hero to the bed, "I will take my time. I'll be gentle. And," they caressed Hero's swollen cheek softly, "I'll wait until you're awake with me."

Hero's face was pinched with pain even in their unconsciousness. Supervillain cupped their cheek and stroked their hair. Hero moaned with pain, their eyelids fluttering. "Shhhhh, sleep, my sweet Hero. Sleep and be well." Supervillain put their power into their words. Put their will. They needed Hero to be better for them to begin. Needed Hero to wake. And then they could begin.

Hero's brow uncreased, their breaths regular, though wheezing. As Hero relaxed in their arms, Supervillain smiled. Soon, soon Hero would be ready to begin the end.

To Hurt and To End VI

“Oh sweet Hero,” Supervillain cooed as they ran their fingertips up from the knife still embedded in Hero’s hand. “I think this is a beautiful look for you. Perhaps it’s not quite time to end you.”

Hero sobbed around their gag. Their whole body was inflamed with pain. They could feel their blood cooling on their skin, drying in a tacky sticky mess. And they could feel Supervillain’s hands on their body. 

“You are so lovely,” Supervillain cooed as they leaned down and kissed Hero’s neck. “So soft. So lovely. So mine.” 

Hero screwed their eyes shut as Supervillain began to tease them, to touch them, and to violate them. They fought against the tears that threatened to slip free of their eyes. 

“Mine to touch,” Supervillain said as they kissed Hero, their fingers finding the spot that had Hero moaning only hours ago. Hero’s body responded against their will. 

“Mine to hurt,” Supervillain twisted the knife in Hero’s hand and Hero’s moan of pleasure turned to a moan of pain. 

Supervillain slid their fingers around Hero’s throat as they mounted Hero. “And eventually, you’ll be mine to end. But not yet, sweet Hero. Not yet.” 

As Supervillain sought their pleasure from Hero, Hero began to sob. “Pllllll—“ they said through the gag. If only Supervillain would will them back to sleep. Anything. Anything but this. 

“Soon, sweet Hero, soon,” Supervillain said as they found a rhythm. 

“Pllll,” they tried through the gag once more. 

“You really are impatient, my sweet. But if you insist.” 

Suddenly the knife from Hero’s hand was removed. Hero screamed around the gag as blood poured from the wound. Supervillain never stopped rocking their hips, never stopped chasing their release as they raised the knife over their head. “You are mine to touch, mine to hurt,” they plunged the knife into Hero’s chest. 

Hero screamed as their world whited out with pain. They knew nothing but pain. Though they could feel Supervillain’s hips rocking against their own, it was a mere echo along their skin as Supervillain carved into their chest. Hero felt faint as black spots encroached on the edge of their vision. They weren’t going to survive this. There was no way. Even if someone walked in right now, they wouldn’t survive. Could not survive the pain. Supervillain gave a moan of pleasure as they chased their release in Hero’s body. Hero blinked against the darkness encroaching their vision. Blinked as they watched Supervillain paint themself with Hero’s blood. And they blinked as they struggled to fight oblivion.

“And,” Supervillain leaned down to whisper in Hero’s ear, “sweet Hero, you’re mine to end.” And they ripped Hero’s still beating heart out of their chest.

Hero had left Lair as soon as it was clear that Villain would recover, but they would likely be unconscious for a while. They didn't want to intrude on Supervillain's time with Villain. Didn't want to see Villain's accusatory glare when they awoke.

And so they made their way slowly back to Base. They'd deal with the fallout with Superhero later. Right now they wanted nothing more than to be alone with their thoughts. And their guilt.

Villain had been captured and tortured entirely because of them. They hadn't saved Villain in time. Hadn't stood up to Superhero. and for that, Hero felt they deserved to be alone.

But they weren't alone long. The alarms sounded as someone had breached the outer gate. Fearing that Superhero had hunted them down, Hero checked the cameras. Their mouth went dry at what they saw.

Villain, pale as a ghost, stumbled through the gate, clutching tightly to Supervillain. "HERO!" They called. "COME OUT!"

Hero swallowed. It was only fair they answered Villain's call. They deserved whatever rage Villain directed at them. They opened the door. "Villain, I--"

Hero's words were cut off as Villain threw themself into their arms. "I woke up and you weren't there. Why did you leave? I wanted....wanted to thank you," they said weakly as their knees gave out.

Hero held Villain tightly. Supervillain nodded to Hero briefly. "I...I...I didn't think you would want to see me after....after everything."

Villain wrapped their arms around Hero. "Of course I did. You....you....saved me. Th-Th-Thank you."

Supervillain stepped forward. "Come on, love, let's get you back to bed." They lifted Villain into their arms before Villain could protest.

"You'll....You'll come visit me, right?" Villain's words were so quiet that Hero wasn't entirely sure Villain had said anything until Villain lifted their head from Supervillain's shoulder. "Right?"

Hero nodded, some of the burden of their guilt easing from their shoulders. Villain didn't hate them. "Of course."

Prisoners V

Hero stared down at Villain’s now peaceful face. The moment Hero had been able to lay Villain down on a bed in the med bay, Supervillain had injected them with something. “It will take away their pain. And let them sleep while we work.”

Hero and Supervillain had worked for hours. Hours and hours of cataloguing wounds, applying first aid, and hoping that it would be enough. By the end of it, Hero was exhausted, but feeling a little more confident that Villain would make it. 

Supervillain stared down at Villain as well. They put their hand on Villain’s forehead. “Thank you,” they croaked at last.

“It’s nothing. Anyone would have--”

“Thank you for saving them. For bringing them back to me.” Supervillain’s eyes were haunted as they looked up at Hero. “I....I was beside myself when I realized they had been taken.”

Hero looked away at that. They had been responsible for part of Villain’s abduction. Responsible for what would eventually happen to them. “It was the least I could do.”

Supervillain nodded. “Well, nonetheless, I am grateful you brought them back home.” 

“Will....will they make it?” Hero braced themself to hear that they were too late. That it had all be in vain. 

Supervillain nodded. “Villain is made of tougher stuff. If Superhero had done this to me, I would have died a long time ago. But yes, they will make it. Thanks to you.”

Hero sighed with relief. “I wasn’t too late.”

“No, Hero,” Supervillain gave a wan smile, “you were just in time.”
