Sheri: A Powerpoint Intro

It is here! A tiny bit of background: Sheri is sort of a companion to Triad, in the sense that it shows some of what happened to the other ex-heir to the Navaren throne, but it takes place after it (by at least 3 months). Also maybe someday I'll come up with a better title for it.

'seducing Gannet' is shorthand for 'Sheri got on fantasy grindr found Gannet and explained they had no more classes together'#'and Gannet accepted this as a fuckportunity'#I also decided on the name Gannet because you will take Negleeglo from my cold dead hands but it's unwieldy #however now I have a basic process for how their language forms nicknames which is awesome #and Gannet is a cool name #and yes. sheri asks kirnus personal questions. this is truly what the 'mega hate' section is for: bad things that are gonna happen #this was what was funniest: sheri panicking about never having hooked up with a trans guy because he wants to Be Good At It #as though asking your sister's trans partner is a way to Know How To Do This #anyway. He's named after the doormouse from Alice in Wonderland - I firmly believe that in order to raise a humble cat, you have to give them a ridiculous name, and naming a cat after a mouse felt appropriate. He's also a really little guy - only like 8lbs!

I am not a speaker, just Russian-curious I guess haha. I am part Russian from both sides of my family and have taken a keen interest in the culture/language in recent years, so I've done some dabbling.

My husband (then boyfriend) wanted a pet name for me, and I suggested koshechka (кошечка, "kitten") because he frequently jokes that I behave like a cat. I call him pryanik (пряник, "gingerbread") because he's my sweet redhead.

#we also have talked about using Russian diminutive structure to form nicknames for our future kids #i did try learning the language in college but it was an accelerated course and i was only auditing so i didn't absorb much #i find it fascinating and would like to get back into it one day #i'm Russian/slavic through my mom's dad and Ashkenazi Jewish Russian through my dad's mom
