hmmm before taylor x player get together mayeb taylro gets asked about her in an interview?
Jimmy Fallon and a DM
taylor swift x fem!NHL!reader
note: not that good lol, sorry i loved the idea just got busy and i wanted to put it out sooner than later <3
Tumblr media
Between the break for the USA and International leg of her tour, Taylor was set to appear on Jimmy Fallon. Waiting for her que, getting her hair fixed last second by the stylist, she hears the ‘Please welcome, Dr. Taylor Swift”
The fans in the live audience cheered as Taylor stepped out onto the set, giving Jimmy a quick hug before sitting down. The cheering never stopped, “Thank you so much.” The woman said, addressing the crowd which only causes them to cheer more.
“We are just so happy you’re here! And I announced you as ‘Doctor’ this time. ""Yes. Thank you. But really I’m happy to be here.” “And we’re so excited to talk about the tour, so you’ve finished the USA leg. And you have announced The Eras Tour film, coming out worldwide October 13th! And it really is a record breaking tour!”
The crowd cheering again, an awkward smile on Taylor’s face, even after years it will always be weird to have people tell you all your accomplishments.
“I mean, I've written some things down; the tour is already estimated to earn over $1 billion, your opening night in Glendale was the most-attended concert by a female artist ever in the U.S., and your tour has actually boosted the economy! I mean that’s amazing! That’s amazing.” “Thank you! That is so kind of you to say all that!” “Well it’s true!”
-
“And- y’know speaking of your athleticism in getting ready for the tour, a certain athlete in the NHL for the New Jersey Devils, said you were her celebrity crush. Did you see this?”
Of course Taylor had seen it. The clip was all over ‘SwiftTok’ a place she was very active in, with her secret account. And only her closest friends knew that she had in fact started to reciprocate the feelings. Growing a crush on the girl after watching clip after clip of her doing media, getting mic’d up, and answering the questions; and getting butterflies in her stomach whenever she hears Y/n mention her.
“Um, yes I did. I mean, Y/n L/n, she’s very talented and I really admire her, and how far she’s brought herself; and she is definitely far more athletic than me.”
A low chuckle coming from the crowd, Taylor thankful it was Jimmy interviewing her and not anyone else, who would want to press on the subject.
-
One thing about Y/n is she loves talk shows, reality TV, and award shows. So having a night off, Y/n decided to stay in and do her favourite activity, surfing the channels. And she happens to come across the Jimmy Fallon tonight show, with Taylor Swift in the seat adjacent to the host. And another thing about Y/n is whenever she sees Taylor Swift, she stops.
They were talking about her workout routine to get ready for the tour, which truly to Y/n sounded very impressive. Then they did something that at this time feels like the worst thing ever, yet will turn out to be the best thing to ever happen to her.
Jimmy mentions a ‘certain athlete’. That’s what Y/n believed would end her life, hearing Taylor Swift talk about her confessing her brush on the woman. Hearing that your celebrity crush has heard what you’ve said about them, was probably her worst fear.
Before she could even hear what the woman was going to say, against her own will, Y/n turned off the TV, put on music and finally started to make dinner; something she was putting off before that became her alternative.
-
The early morning light of 5:30 am filtered through the curtains, Y/n getting out of bed and making her way into the bathroom, and getting ready; telling her google home to play her morning music, getting into her workout attire, before making her way into her kitchen and making a smoothie with her pre-workout.
Only going on her phone in the elevator, the woman almost dropped her half-finished smoothie, and honestly she herself almost fell to the floor seeing the DM she had gotten.
Hey, Y/n
I’m sorry if talking about you on The Tonight Show in any way made you uncomfortable, but I really do admire you and I was wondering if you would ever want to go out sometime. It isn’t just you with the celebrity crush.
Lesson number one of how to kill Y/n, be Taylor Swift and ask her out.

Hello author!! This is not a request and you're free to ignore if you don't want to answer but you said your work includes you traveling a lot? I just feel its a bit weird for a 20 year old to travel so much because of work! I don't mean to say youre lying but are you comfortable opening up about your profession?? Sorry if I'm nosy!! Also sorry for my english I'm not native and 15 hahha...
Hey! No worries at all, you’re not being nosy, and your English is great! :) I totally get why it sounds weird that I travel so much for work, especially at my age. Unfortunately, I can’t open up too much about my profession because if I did, it’d be way too easy to Google me or the company I work for. But to give a general idea—I’m an apprentice for a big company, basically shadowing a real secretary and learning the ropes. It’s kind of like studying the profession while actively doing it, so by the time I graduate, I’ll have a guaranteed job and a stable future.
My family is upper middle class, so we’ve never struggled financially, but I was raised with the mindset that once I graduate, I’m completely on my own. No financial help, no safety net—I have to make it work myself. That’s why I took this opportunity, even though it’s incredibly stressful, busy, and involves a ton of travel. It’s a lot, but it’ll pay off in the long run.
I totally understand why it might sound strange if you’re not familiar with this kind of setup. Honestly, all of this might end up being for nothing because my family is half-planning to move out of the U.S. because of Trump. Nothing’s set in stone yet, and we’re still figuring out where to go since we want somewhere that isn’t too different. My boss has actually been playing around with a business card from a company in one of the countries I’m considering—he has connections there and could recommend me if I decide to go. So, who knows what’ll happen? Everything’s still up in the air! :D
But yeah, I appreciate the curiosity! Hope that makes things a little clearer. <3

Dear CalMatters reader,
Our CalMatters and The Markup investigation uncovered that California has been quietly sharing people’s sensitive health data with LinkedIn — and leaders are demanding answers. Millions of Californians are likely impacted. This kind of accountability journalism is critical, and our donors are what make this work possible. Please join them today.
Our reporting revealed that Covered California, the state’s health care exchange, had been sharing with LinkedIn whether people were pregnant, blind, transgender, or had experienced domestic abuse. The trackers also monitored visitors’ searches for medical providers and how often those visitors used prescription drugs. Millions of people use Covered California to buy their health insurance.
Change is already being called for, just days after publication.
A Republican California Congressman called on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to launch an investigation.
Covered California publicly admitted to our findings and that they also shared the last four numbers of people’s SSNs with LinkedIn.
A proposed class action lawsuit was filed against LinkedIn and Google for receiving confidential data.

Do you have anything to say about my baby, the Honda CR-Z?
Tumblr media
(Please excuse the low resolution, I wanted to introduce it with a pic from my collection and this was the only stock one I had)
Oh, the CR-Z... Pepperidge Farm here remembers obsessively following its debut on Top Gear Magazine! Pepperidge Farm and not many others, it seems, as in present day the CR-Z seems to be as relevant in today's car world as basket weaving. Wait, no, less.
In fact, coming up with an answer to this question was the most I thought about the CR-Z in almost a decade.
But thought I have, so here's your answer:
I don't get it.
I mean, don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like it! I am on record as a serial Honda liker -hell, to those who think it counts I own one- and I see no reason this one should buck the trend (although I've always felt it would look better with something between the headlights to stop it looking so big-snooty, as the bumper below does a good enough job of exemplifying that I won't bother rendering something better).
Tumblr media
It's just that... I don't know what the point of it was. And looking at its sales that seems to be the experience of most vertebrates.
Tumblr media
(To be fair, U.S. sales started in August 2010 and production ended in 2016 with the following years's sales just being stock clearing - but still, pretty bleak picture.)
It's not like we don't know what Honda were going for, they told us plainly: it's a sporty hybrid car, light on the wallet but heavy on the fun. And Honda would know of sporty compacts - what were they producing as the CR-Z rolled out?
Tumblr media
Oh. It's the most hated of all six Civic Type R generations. Hm.
It's a joke, "most hated Civic Type R generation" is a bit like saying "most normal Kia Soul commercial".
If that car looks unfamiliar to you yankees, however, that's because y'all got different looking Civics for a while, such that your sporty Civic was this, the Si - seen here in the bewinged Mugen trim.
Tumblr media
The Si is meant to sit below the Type R, but, since America wasn't getting the Type R, the yankee Si and non-yankee Type R were free to get the same 200hp from the same venerable engine (one day I'll go over all that makes the K20 so great) and the usual great handling, courtesy among plenty things of a limited slip differential. Wait, why is that not a link? Ah, right, I've never explained differentials... well, for now you can just trust that it's a cool type of differential that helps maintain grip when you're giving it the beans. Wait. Is it "giving it the beans" because you're stomping the gas pedal? Surely not. What is it from? Let me google this... Okay, sources seem scarce and shaky but apparently the idea was that if you fed horses beans they wou- wait this post is about the CR-Z. How did we get here? I swear this NEVER happens.
In short, Honda knew, and has always known, how to make proper sporty cars and give them great engines, whatever their size. So can it possibly have been a surprise when this thing came out and, forget motoring journalists, even the more talkative stray cats were meowing that the CR-Z did not have the engine grunt to back up its sporty pitch?
And look, if anyone here will say a car with as little as 120-130hp cannot be worth bothering with, it won't be a diehard of the Mazda Miata, which sold well over half a million units no more powerful than that. But that's a car that focused on open top enjoyment and getting a lot out of a little, just like the 60s European spiders it threw back to. What did the CR-Z throw back to?
Well that'll be the CR-X.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Introduced in 1983, the CR-X was a coupe version of the Civic of the time (hence its 1987 update corresponding with the Civic's). And just like the Civic in question, it is most fondly remembered for its sporty, proper-fun Si guise (pronounced "ass eye", because eye me dat ass) and the even sportier SiR that yankees never got. Which makes perfect sense, considering its main appeal against the Civic was the sportier looks.
Tumblr media
Sure, since the CR-X left us North America got a Civic coupe in its stead, but am I going to pretend this thing looked half as good as the CR-Z that was about to join the lineup?
Tumblr media
Not for free I'm not.
So now, imagine the stellar engine and manual transmission from a Civic Si/Type R, but now with electric assistance for even more power AND fuel efficiency, all in a car hundreds of kilos lighter, significantly shorter -thus more agile- and with the sleek CR-Z looks.
Then keep imagining.
The CR-Z never got an Si or Type R version, it was just left to sit there with its 122hp (later begrudgingly upped to 130) that, forget the contemporary sporty Civics, compared unfavorably to its 30 year old predecessor.
Tumblr media
The CR-X was the sportier Civic. If its successor gets walked not just by the Civic but even by the CR-X itself, what's the point of the resurrection?
However, I concede there's an objection to this argument: this graph.
Tumblr media
These are the US sales figures for the second generation CRX (which I think dropped the dash?), and, if you were to be able to parse it, you'd notice that the sporty Si version made up about a third of the sales - meaning most buyers forewent the sportiness in favor of the lower cost of the standard DX model or the High F-iciency of the even slower HF model. So if those versions sold well, why shouldn't the CR-Z have?
Well, if you ask me: image is more than looks.
This blog -and other affiliated entities- touched on the concept of race wins on Sunday bringing sales on Monday, and the same phenomenon happens with cool sport versions. Today's Corolla is a much cooler car in the eyes of the people who see in it the underlying foundation of its extraordinary GR version, and this phenomenon is most amplified the smaller the gap -or perceived gap, at least- between the version you're admiring and the more modest version you could realistically be interested in. I strongly believe that many people bought the dog slow CRX HF because the CRX Si ingrained within them the idea that they were buying something cool.
And Honda, as we touched on, had the perfect engine to dump into the CR-Z to make a wicked sport version. Hell, they could even have just given its regular engine forced induction - and we know it because the CR-Z Mugen RZ did just that!
Tumblr media
Here at last was a perfectly respectable sport version that, while still underneath the Civic's best power-wise, was more than good enough to make car enthusiasts give a damn about the CR-Z. And what did Honda do with it? They limited the production to 300 units and only sold them in Japan. Take a fucking drink.
I cannot fathom why they would do that. It's not that they couldn't homologate the power additions or whatever, because a. that doesn't justify the limited production run and b. the supercharger (or at least a supercharger, not sure if it's the same) was made available in the US in the form of a dealer-fitted optional extra. Not by selling a supercharged special version altogether, no no, that may cause the public to -gasp- notice and care.
What was the point? Were they deliberately trying to keep the CR-Z's image one of an efficiency-focused... sleek hatch-coupe with minimal backseats?
Tumblr media
Wait what?
Tumblr media
Dear God, yankees, what have you done to Honda to get done so comically dirty?
Is it just that they thought y'all too big to fit back there?
That makes it even crazier!
Why in tarnation would they think people would care about a sleek, three-door, two seat, manual... efficiency-oriented hybrid?
Oh, right. Because they made the first generation Honda Insight. Which I myself love.
Tumblr media
This was even sleeker and more hardcore than the CR-X: it was as light as the lightest ones despite the electric powertrain, it did without backseats entirely, it was the most aerodynamic production car that had ever been built... but all this wasn't about performance at all. It was about milking every drop of your hard-earned fuel for every single fucking inch of forward movement it was worth.
And it sold very well! I mean, look at the yearly sales figures!
Tumblr media
Look how much America loved it! In a year of production that started from December it sold around a third the units the CRX sold in a full year!
So imagine what the production numbers were like for the year 2000!
Tumblr media
huh?
Oh you mean these are the total sales. Like, all the first generation Insights ever sold in its entire six years and change of production. Oh. And it totals to like 17.000. Which is around how many CRX Si they sold in a year in North America alone. Hm.
Yeah, it suddenly makes a lot more sense how the second generation Insight was a Prius wannabe.
Tumblr media
In fact, now that I look at it... that back looks familiar, doesn't it?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wait...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wait!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, now suddenly the car makes a lot more sense. And actually, come think of it, let me check the sales figures for the Mk2 Insight...
Tumblr media
Considering, again, the CR-Z's US debut happened in August 2010, they match up pretty well, and it would be a pretty reasonable sales split if we were to consider them the 5 and 3 door versions of the same car.
Now, this may make it seem like it wasn't such a failure after all, and it did well in the segment it was actually intended to compete in. But let's give some context on how good those Insight sales figures are.
Tumblr media
Yeah. Yeah no. The second Insight just wasn't a hit either.
But at least, now I can say I get the car. The Insight was pretty big and... uncool, so the CR-Z was a good way to offer that same hybrid efficiency to people who wanted a more compact, sleeker package - though perhaps not as extreme as the first gen Insight. Unless you're a yankee, I assume.
The name still doesn't make sense.
I mean, it would if I could see Honda seeing CR-X as just... a body style, and its resurrection of it akin to resurrecting, say, the Civic Shuttle.
Tumblr media
(It was the only side picture I had saved.)
And Honda's press material made another point to this end, that I wasn't aware of.
Tumblr media
So sure. Point taken. The CR-X was shaped by the quest for efficiency, so it follows that its successor would be efficiency focused as well.
But that's not how the CR-X is remembered. In everyone's minds, the CR-X is cemented as the sporty version (that Honda sold, mind - this is not like with the Supra, whose reputation was defined by modders). And the weirdest thing is, they don't just know that, they bring it up.
Tumblr media
And indeed, they call the CR-Z's role "quite different from the original Insight coupe's" - they want this car to "change the current perception of hybrids" by blending hybrid efficiency and sportiness. They rightly sell its looks as sporty, take great pride in the manual transmission and explicitly state it's for driver engagement, over and over talk about 'enthusiastic' owners and 'enthusiastic' driving and 'enthusiastic' engine note etc etc. They brag about how much of a difference their Sport mode makes. They call attention to the valves per cylinder. They constantly remind of how (unlike the Insight) it has the legendary V-TEC. (If this is the first you hear of it, ask about it in the tags).
This is the press release for a sports hatch.
But when time came to give it a sports hatch's power? Japan got 300 units, North America got a dealer-fitted kit with a numbered plaque two years before the car's nixing, and we had to hope to never have a flat tire because Europe didn't get jack.
Was it to avoid stepping on the toes of the sporty Civics, because if the sporty CR-Z's potential buyers will otherwise just get a sporty Civic then why make two models to get the same amount of buyers? If so, I'll tell you why: because that was the only chance of moving regular CR-Zs, which surely must have been a worthwhile pursuit if you made the damn thing.
Was it the fear of a power-focused engine resulting in fuel economy so underwhelming it would undermine the model's eco premise? If so, heyo, you have electric assistance, which means you can either get more speed out of the same engine marking a win for the hotboys or get the same speed out of a more efficient package - and in both cases you're showing a hybrid powertrain bringing something to the table, which is how you actually "change the perception of hybrids" in the minds of people who consider them synonymous with boring.
I'm not saying my counters are bulletproof or that there is no argument against a hot CR-Z. I'm just saying that if there is, it's an argument against the regular CR-Z also. Because if the CR-Z was never to be something worth considering over anything that could be called sporty, then they should never have bothered to begin with - at least, if they were going to aim it so squarely at "the enthusiastic drivers".
In short,
Honda sought to make a sportscar - be it to sell the car itself or to sell a concept like "we're committed to preserving driving enjoyment even into electrification" or "hybrids are cool, so buy a hybrid, and please don't whine if we ever need to make a hybrid Type R or whatever thanks". And I'm always down for Honda building a sportscar. It was Honda that wasn't, for whatever reason. And so there the CR-Z stood, waiting until its passing for a sportier engine that would show the world how cool it was. But it never came. And it bugs me. Because I find it a shame. Because I remember reading of the Mugen prototype and waiting with bated breath for the production version that we ultimately never got. Because I still would love to see them about more than I do. Because I wish the second generation that apparently was in the works got to see the light of day.
Because, even after all these days of thinking about Honda's strategy and learning all we went over, and perhaps because of it,
I still don't get it.

Hi! Before I ask my question, I just want to say that your art is awesome! I especially love the common windmill butterfly OC you came up with. They're so cool! Did you ever decide on a name for them? I just realized that's also a question woops lol that wasn't the main question I wanted to ask. I was curious if you've ever seen the 1999 film Ravenous, and if so, what are your thoughts on it? It's a film that not so subtly almost blatantly denounces the u.s, colonization, and european christianity by comparing it to cannibalism. However, they also incorporate something that I don't think I should spell out cuz I've heard it would be disrespectful of me as a white person to mention the word so I'll just say that it starts with a "W" when written out in english. I wanted to know if, even in a context in which colonization is outright reprimanded, if it's still unintentionally engaging in oppression by adding that specific cultural element into the movie at all. I've been trying to find any indigenous film critics's thoughts on the subject but google and tumblr's search functions are total garbage and I've also been making a point not to write the W word into any search engines cuz as I said earlier I've been told that that's not a good thing to do. But obviously, you don't have to answer any of my questions if you don't want to. I just know you sometimes do art analysis, so I figured you might be interested in giving your thoughts on the subject. Anywho, I hope you're doing well! 🧡
For the first part of your question, tysm, and I'm so glad you like my art!! <33 I actually never named any of the fancy shawl dancers, they're less like fully fledged OC's and more like just a human representation of what a fancy shawl regalia might look like inspired by the moth and butterfly species given. many dancers might have a regalia that represents something or have common motifs/themes surrounding that thing, sometimes very personal, and sometimes just because they like that thing or think it's pretty, and seeing butterflies on fancy shawl regalia is very common, which is partially what inspired me to do the series. I'd love to see if any other people had come up with names for them though!
and as for you main question, no I have never watched that movie, and I don't think I will specifically because it includes that. I also don't know how much Native involvement there was in it. The idea of the ice cannibal representing greed comes from traditional beliefs (which may vary depending on tribe, but there's quite a bit of overlap) of multiple Algonquian Nations, so that's why it pops up in media surrounding it, I don't really think it's particularly groundbreaking or anything because that was OUR beliefs. However, I know most depictions of the ice cannibal, because most are done by Moniyaws, are inaccurate. Generally most beliefs regarding the ice cannibal tend to agree that one shouldn't show it at all, except under specific circumstances and by certain people. You might get differing opinions on whether White depictions on the ice cannibal is contributing DIRECTLY to Native oppression specifically, but in the very least it's disrespectful and maybe a microagression (depends on the content, though). I wish people would STOP doing it, but for the moment I don't know that much can be done about the already released media regarding it.
But even with Native led depictions, let me give you a couple of examples: There was like this live play of a Native retelling take of Macbeth put together by a small group of people that featured the ice cannibal, and they went around various reserves showing this play, and they came to my reserve. My sister was there, and she said whenever it (the ice cannibal) came onto stage, multiple people, which included most of those in the audience, screamed and ran out of the room, only returning when the character was off stage. So that should give you an idea of how many Cree people feel about even fictional depictions of the monster lol.
As another example, there's this Native artist who's work you might have seen at some point, named Norval Morrisseau (he's almost like the Native American Michelangelo of Woodland Art, and he's described as "the Picasso of the North", that's how legendary he is), and while he's still very very famous, of course he's most well known by Native people. He did a painting of the Ice Cannibal, and it was very controversial among Natives when it was done and displayed. Many people believed he shouldn't have painted it at all. So even though the monster and his art was a bit more obscure at the time he painted it, this was still highly controversial.
So even when it's coming from a Native perspective, any representation of the ice cannibal will be controversial and subject to differing opinions, which might vary depending on their specific beliefs. If it's THIS controversial when NATIVES do it, imagine how much worse it is if it's a White depiction with bastardization (not that we necessarily want an accurate depiction, either). I can't offer a review on the film since I've never watched it and likely won't, but if another Algonquian has, feel free to share your thoughts!

My donor and I have agreed that, since I already was considering it as a brtween-class college career, we might try phlebotomy for doning purposes to get more blood at once and have it ready on-demand. However, I had a few questions that I would go to Google for, but I'm unsure on how to phrase them. If you don't know, that's okay, I just thought you might know of a resource that might have more information.
- Where would I get phlebotomy tools, such as needles, bags, disinfectant, etc, without being an actual medical corporation?
- What type of fridge/how cool would the inside of the fridge have to be to keep it from (for lack of a better word) 'expiring'? How long would it be good for?
- Is it okay to heat it up in, say, a microwave? I think I'd pefer it warm if I was drinking a cup of it because it would feel more fresh.
- Is there any law against keeping home-doned blood in your house for any reason, like for a biohazard type of thing? Of course I keep everything about this really private, I'd just like to know. For reference, I'm currently residing in California and will for at least two more years while I get my transfer degree at a community college, and there's a good chance I will stay in-state for university. Otherwise, knowing if any states in the U.S. have a law like this would be good to know. I know Louisiana has a 'no blood drinking' law from the voodoo/hoodoo days when slaves were emancipated, but I doubt anyone would enforce it nowadays.
- I know the environment has to be sterile for safety reasons, and I may just Google this one, but in this instance, what all needs to be disinfected/'sterile'? My partner/donor is autoimmune compromised (still okay for me to feed/for him to give blood) so I want to limit risk of infection as much as possible. Should I get one of those blood-draw specific chairs that have an almost plastic-type material spray its easier to keep clean and so there's the arm to use as the table for the insertion, do you think?
I believe, a long time ago, I read on one of the older sanguinarian websites (may be theredcellar, if I'm remembering properly; it was the one with the old feed directory where you could connect with a vampire/donor, I think, and they had a library section) which had some resources on using medical phlebotomy for this reason, but I never got through all of it at the time. If this type of website rings a bell for you, I may be able to find the PDF of the study someone submitted on it, as I remember it had risks involved and other information, which would be very, very helpful. If you think of any other information you may have or advice to follow, please do leave it. Thank you and have a wonderful day/night!
This is going to be a long one, so here we go.
Sadly, I don't have any actual experience in phlebotomy yet, so I'll keep any phlebotomy-specific parts brief to keep myself from making assumptions. To start with, a decent portion of your questions might already have some answers in articles on theredcellar.com. For anything more deeply sanguinarian, they are one of the best resources you can find. They have multiple articles on phlebotomy that have very in-depth information, and I believe they should have some info on blood-storage so that you can get a feel for how long you can safely store and consume blood you draw. As for the other thing you mentioned you had read, if I'm guessing right, it might be on theblackbooks.net. In the library tab, under miscellaneous, there is a .pdf called Phlebotomy for Sanguinarians.
If you look up 'phlebotomy supplies' on Google, there is a slew of medical suppliers that you can go to. I used to buy supplies from a dental supplier when I was working on fangs, and they can work a little differently from regular online marketplaces, but with some patience, you can find what you need. (Also be sure to become knowledgeable with what different anticoagulants the vacutainers or blood bags you're using come with, there is an article with a bunch of that info on The Red Cellar). If you keep having trouble finding supplies, I'd assume that bloodplay circles have plenty of information on where to find needles at least, and where you can find medical-grade needles, I assume you should be able to find the rest.
You can do your own trials with the microwave, but I don't think that would be the best way to heat blood. You would want to be very gentle while heating blood, and because of the way microwaves work, I'd assume you would be very likely to ruin blood by microwaving it. The one way I've heard that might be best for heating blood without lysing all of the cells and potentially cooking it, is sous vide. Others may have other ideas for this though, when in doubt, check old forums.
As far as legality, I would check for your own state. Generally, the legal issues come in the moment of feeding. Of course taking blood without consent would be illegal. I don't believe storing blood is illegal, but it is also seen as extreme by most people. In my opinion, keeping stored blood hidden isn't a safety precaution against the law, it's a safety precaution against people who are much more likely to be in your house from seeing something they might not be ready to see.
Keeping things sterile is extremely important, and whatever safety precautions you have kept up with whatever type of feeding should be held with just as much respect when taking blood intravenously. Definitely look for legitimate medical sources to brush up on what extra care you should take when dealing with phlebotomy equipment, and think about disposal as well. I can't imagine that you would have to go as far as buying a chair specifically for drawing blood, but keep your space clean, and be aware of how certain materials pick up dust and other things in the air, as well as whatever has touched them in the past. And absolutely everything needs to be sterile. The needles and equipment you end up buying will most likely come in sealed, sterile packaging, but anything that doesn't needs to be sterilized, especially since your partner is autoimmune compromised.
I hope this was helpful, and if there is anything I want to convey throughout all of this, it is to make sure to double and triple check, not only through sanguinarian sources, but also medical sources. Phlebotomy is a fantastic skill to learn as a sanguinarian (and luckily for me, I'm finally in a living situation that could allow me to learn), but donor safety is the absolute most important thing when talking about phlebotomy. Take things slow, and gauge both your and your donor's comfort levels as you go.

A funny but accurate analysis of why the Crowdstrike failure hit certain sectors particulally hard:
To facilitate your institution’s conversation with the examiner who drew the short straw, you will conduct a risk analysis. Well, more likely, you’ll pay a consulting firm to conduct a risk analysis. In the production function that is scaled consultancies, this means that a junior employee will open U.S. Financial Institution IT Security Risk Analysis v3-edited-final-final.docx and add important client-specific context like a) their name and b) their logo. ...
Your consultants are going to, when they conduct the mandatory risk analysis, give you a shopping list. Endpoint monitoring is one item on that shopping list. Why? Ask your consultant and they’ll bill you for the answer, but you can get my opinion for free and it is worth twice what you paid for it: II.C.12 Malware Mitigation. ...
Your consultants will tell you that you want a very responsive answer to II.C.12 in this report and that, since you probably do not have Google’s ability to fill floors of people doing industry-leading security research, you should just buy something which says Yeah We Do That. CrowdStrike’s sales reps will happily tell you Yeah We Do That. ...
As a matter of fact, if you want to give CrowdStrike your email address and job title, they will even send you a document which is not titled Exact Wording To Put In Your Risk Assessment Including Which Five Objectives And Seventeen Controls Purchasing This Product Will Solve For.
Worth reading the entire piece!

New Google alert will tell you when you appear in search, help remove personal information
Want to know if your information is popping up on Google? It will alert you.
Tumblr media
The company is rolling out a new dashboard to alerts users when their personal information appears online, or when a new search result appears, giving users the chance to remove personal information immediately.
The dashboard, which Google said will launch in a few days, is an improvement on the "Results about you" tool the company rolled out last year to help users stay on top of their information and remove results containing their personal email address, home address, phone number, directly from the search results page.
Removing a Google result will not wipe it from the internet and the tool is only available in the U.S. in English only for now.
How do I remove personal information from Google?
In the Google search results, if your personal information like email address, home address, or phone number appear in a link, click the three vertical dots next to the result, and select "Remove result."
You can also remove results that show incorrect contact information or are likely copyright infringement, by answering questions on a detailed removal request form.
Users can monitor the removal request status in the Google app, the browser, or in the "Results about you" page that shows whether the request is in progress, approved, denied or undone.
Google users can also initiate a removal request of personal identifiable information that could lead to doxxing, such as a Social Security number, bank account numbers, images of identification documents, medical records, images of handwritten signatures, and confidential login credentials.
Users can ask to remove explicit imagery
Google's newest policy allows users to ask that their personal, explicit images no longer show up in the Google search results. Users can also request the search removal if it’s being published on a different website without approval. The policy doesn't apply to content the user is already commercializing.
Earlier this year, the company announced the SafeSearch setting which operates by default for users under 18, and blurs explicit imagery, such as adult or graphic violent content when it appears in the Google search results. It will roll out globally this month, and can be turned off at any time, unless the setting is locked by a guardian or school network administrator.

So sad when you have a research question and you don't even know how to begin to research it. Even worse when you know that in order to fully grasp the complete extent of what you need, you'd have to spend years becoming an expert on the subject.
How do you google (in a productive way that will actually give you answers) "How advanced would a society/continent realistically be, 4,000 years after a near-apocolyptic war, but also they have much milder seasons so "growing season" is like all the time in like three countries, but also they have zero access to the other continents, and they're the size of the U.S.'s east coast so there's not a lot of resources on their own except for what they grow"
Like, I feel the only way to be able to "realistically" build this would be to become an expert on history - a topic I notably hate learning (it's fascinating, I just cannot keep it in my head) - and civilzations, and like- natural resource deposits and stuff like that.
How am I meant to write a narrative that doesn't ever mention any of these things without knowing all of them

It is important to note that this happened during my first year in college.
The setup:
It was an orientation class. The kind all freshman needed to take. It was the second one (because this was spring semester) and worth 1 credit. The teacher leading it was one of the academic counselors, and he had a masters in Some Subject.
We were split into teams to play the "categories" game. He would give us a category and a letter and we had to come up with a list of things in that category beginning with that letter. Very simple.
The first category was "toy" and letter was "M".
I consider a plush/stuffed animal a toy. So my list began:
Moose plush
Mickey mouse plush
And so on (there were some non-plush objects in there, but that is not the focus of this).
We get to my group, and I begin reading our answers. As soon as I say "Mickey mouse plush" following the moose plush, there is an uproar. People are Very Upset.
"You can't just say an object and put 'plush' after it!" Someone yelled.
"You're exactly right!" I said brightly, in a tone not unlike congratulating a grade schooler for solving a hard problem.
"That's cheating!"
Etc., etc.
Things mildly settle down, and everyone turns to Mr. Teacher Guy to be final arbiter. I argue my case. A plush is a toy that people play with.
"Yes, but...the moose is an adjective."
A brief moment of silence. I am stunned. I do in fact ask this man, "Do you know what an adjective is?" (I can't imagine he was pleased about this. I do not regret it.)
He makes the decision that he will count One plush, and no more. I am indignant, and frustrated, but I let it go.
The next category is "cities in the U.S." and the letter is "W".
"Now, if the city sounds fake, I'm going to look it up," Mr. Teacher warned.
He has just given me full permission to bullshit. It is a foundational part of the human condition: we are horrible at naming things. Evidence being all of the river Avon's in the UK, the Soviet Union, the Sahara Desert, etc.
So I begin my list:
Wichita
Waterloo
Wales
Wyoming
Wisconsin
Washington
Wooster
Time is up, we put down our pens. It is my team's turn to read our list. Everyone nods to Wichita and Waterloo. Upon reading "Wales" there is another uproar.
"Wales is a country!" This is the same person who said I can't just put 'plush' after an object. This statement is delivered in the tone of "You idiot" as if he cannot believe I don't know this.
I grin and continue reading. The uproar continues after I read Wyoming, Wisconsin, and Washington, all with the accusations that those are states, delivered by people who surely think I am a Moron.
After reading my list, I say, "I've traveled a lot, and we are Really Bad At Naming Things. Did you know there's a Dublin, Ohio? I guarantee every name I've given is a city."
Everyone turns to Mr. Teacher to make a ruling. I argue my case. He said he would look it up if it sounded fake. It is his duty to look it up.
"No, they don't count if you're just guessing," he tried to say.
"You didn't say that, though. You said you would look them up if they sounded fake. Besides, I'm not guessing. I know these places exist."
"But you don't know where they are."
This was not a previously outlined limitation for responses. I tell him as much. He says that if I can name where these places are, I get the points. I had quickly googled them while responding, so I was able to name where most of them were.
This man still didn't count all of our points. I maintain to this day that as it is a college course, he should have been prepared for this. Also, I'm still (four years later) baffled by the declaration that "Moose is the adjective".
(As he justified: the 'plush' is the noun, and the moose is describing it. I still hold that it is a moose plush, because a plush by itself is much too ambiguous to be a noun by itself, and also because Moose Is Not A Fucking Adjective.)
when i was a kid i got a 90% on my kindergarten "what are your favorite things?" test because for the question "what is your favorite animal?" i wrote down "puma" and it got marked wrong because my teacher said a puma isnt even an animal its a kind of shoe

Why Every Modern Marketer Needs a Quora Strategy Now
If you're still sleeping on Quora in 2025, you're missing one of the most underused (and overperforming) platforms in digital marketing. Quora isn't just a place to answer questions — it's where modern marketers build trust, authority, and organic traffic. And with the right approach, you can scale visibility faster than ever.
Buy a Quora Account and Hit the Ground Running
Brand-new Quora accounts come with a lot of limitations — low visibility, zero followers, and limited trust. That’s why smart marketers Buy Quora Account to get ahead. With an aged, active profile, your answers are more likely to get traction, rank in Google, and attract high-intent traffic right away.
Accelerate Engagement with Quora Upvotes
Even a brilliant answer won’t matter if no one sees it. Buying Quora Upvotes gives your content the social proof it needs to rise in both Quora and Google’s results. More upvotes = more exposure = more authority. Simple, effective, and perfectly aligned with a long-term content strategy.
Buy USA Quora Accounts for Local Trust and Reach
If you're targeting the U.S. market, localization is non-negotiable. Buy USA Quora Accounts to post from credible, American-based profiles. This gives your brand added authenticity and trust when reaching U.S. audiences — which can be the difference between a scroll-past and a click-through.
Quora Isn’t Optional — It’s Essential
Modern marketing is all about showing up where your audience is searching for answers. And on Quora, they’re asking questions you already know how to answer. With the right strategy — and the right tools — you’re not just part of the conversation. You’re leading it.

Buy Quora Upvotes to Spark the Algorithm
Want your answer to reach thousands? Upvotes are your catalyst. Buy Quora Upvotes to lift your content to the top of high-traffic threads, signal authority to both Quora and Google, and watch your visibility snowball organically.
Buy USA Quora Accounts to Target High-Intent Audiences
If your goal is to go viral in the U.S. market, you need authenticity. Buy USA Quora Accounts help you post from profiles that connect with American audiences, boosting both trust and conversion potential. Local presence = real results.
