Today was just like any other day to everyone, even you, but it also marked the day that you turned one year older. Nobody knew of course, unless they were looking at your file for some reason, and you didn’t tell anyone. Those in the First Order rarely did. Birthdays were usually recognized just in circles of family and close friends, and then celebrated either low-key or off base. 

You had no family, and only one person you’d consider a close friend. He was, however, too busy for you to bother with something as silly as a birthday. General Hux, Armitage, was hardly the sentimental type too.  In fact, if someone on the outside were to observe your relationship, they’d hardly say it counted as a friendship. But it was. It was just...subtle. 

So when you walked into your room and found a box tied in a silk ribbon of your favorite color sitting on your bed you were confused. It was clearly a birthday present, but there was no card, nor tag.

Inside the box was your favorite dessert. And that was your only clue. Who else could know three details-your birth date, favorite color and favorite dessert-that were so personal? Sure your birth date could easily be found in your personnel file, but the other two details? It had to be Hux. 

You checked the time, he’d be on the bridge right now, not due for a break for some hours yet. Ah, well, you’d just have to set an alarm. 

General Hux sighed as he sat down at his desk. Today was such a stressful day. Ren had been a handful, as always, and the new intern was so incompetent! He glanced at the time and wondered if the only person he actually cared about was awake. Doubtfully. 

He wanted nothing more than to talk to you and get all his frustrations off his chest! Well, there was one thing he wanted more than that, but he was hardly in a position to demand that of all things. That would be completely inappropriate and would ruin the relationship, friendship, that had taken so long to develop. Still, he hoped your day had been easier than his. He hated that your schedule had shifted so that he barely saw you in weeks.

A pinging at the door drew him from his thoughts, he cleared his throat, sat up straight and hit the button that would open the blast doors. “Enter.”

He relaxed, and couldn’t help the tug at his lips as he saw you enter. You had both hands behind your back, very proper, and saluted him with your right hand. “General Hux, sir.” 

The blast doors closed and you dropped your salute. 

He greeted you and motioned for you to sit down. “Shouldn’t you be resting now? I don’t need personnel falling asleep on their jobs.” 

“Yes sir.” Part of him was alarmed with the formality of your tone. Perhaps this wasn’t a social call as he initially thought. 

“But I found an unmarked package in my room a few hours ago.” 

A sudden wave of anxiety washed over him, his stomach dropped and he felt his heart rate increase. But mostly, he was trying to stop the warming sensation that threatened to color his face. “Oh?”

You nodded and set a box on his desk. Of course he knew what you were talking about. He had spent an inordinate amount of time looking for a discreet way to deliver this present to you. Not to mention the time he spent looking for the perfect shade of the ribbon tied on the box. Oh how foolish he felt now!

He nervously cleared his throat, “What is this?” 

As you unwrapped the ribbon he noticed a few indents in the silky material that gave tale to the fact that you had already opened it once. You removed the carefully packaged dessert, then you looked up at him and, if he were to look back at this later, he sucked in a sharp gasp at the pure brilliance of your smile. In that moment, shallow breath and quickened heart rate and all, he decided that he was going to give you the galaxy. 

You weren’t nearly as careful removing the transparent plastoid sealing in the food. “I can’t believe you remembered!” 

Hux suddenly remembered himself, he was a general of the First Order High Command, not a love-struck fool! He cleared his throat, “I don’t-”

The look you gave him cut his words short. “Oh, don’t try to deny it, sir.” Maker, he loved the way your voice made that little word sound. “No one else could possibly know this much about me.” 

“Your date of birth is listed in your personnel file.” He attempted to deny one more time.

“My favorite food and color is also in my file?” 

He cleared his throat again and looked down, seeing that you had evenly divided the small treat.

You hummed dramatically, “Welll, if it wasn’t you...I know I haven’t told anyone else my favorite foods or color…sooo, maybe they read my mind? There’s only one person on the Finalizer that can do that.” You stood up and turned to the door, “Who knew Commander Ren was so sweet?” 

Logically he knew, knew, that you would never consider Kylo Ren a friend, much less a romantic partner, but just hearing his rival’s name leave your mouth made him panic. 

“Alright! It was me!” He shouted as he quickly stood up and slammed his hands down on his desk. 

You looked at him again and laughed quietly, “I know it was you. What I don’t know is why you even tried to hide it.” 

Realizing how ridiculous he must have looked, he sighed and sat down, inviting you to do the same. If he were honest, he’d admit that his feelings towards you were more than a little intense. Instead, he gave what sounded like a legitimate excuse. “It would seem inappropriate should anyone find out.” 

“We’re friends, Armitage. It’s not even a crazy gift.” 

“Well, I suppose you’re right.” Because what else was he supposed to say? That he was afraid that you’d somehow reject him? 

He shook his head when he saw you push half the sweet to him, “I bought that for you.”

“And I want to share it with you.” 

If you ever found out that he couldn’t say no to you! 

Split between two people, it wasn’t much more than two or three bites, but you still somehow ended up with crumbs on your face. “You’ve got a little something.” He motioned to the side of your face.

“Hmm?” You wiped your hand across the wrong side of your face.

He chuckled quietly and moved around his desk. “No, here.” 

His eyes caught yours as he gently cradled your chin in his hand while his thumb wiped away a bit of crumb. He couldn’t bring himself to look away, or to move his hand from the warmth of your skin. 

It was you to break first, turning your head out of his grasp shyly and muttering a meek thank you. Emboldened by your sudden change in mood, believing it to be the same emotions that thrummed in his chest, he nudged your chin gently so you would face him again. 

“Look at me.” Though his voice was gentle, quiet even, there was a certain sternness in it that made your heart skip a beat, or simply beat faster, or possibly both at the same time. 

You stared into his eyes for only a moment before your eyes slid closed as his lips pressed against yours, softly at first but it wasn’t long before his hand moved from the side of your face to grip the back of your head, your hands clutching at the front of his uniform, his tongue entwined with yours. 

Rather hastily you found yourself shoved onto his desk, thighs wrapped around his hips. He pulled away just enough to look at you with a suggestive smirk, “Happy birthday.” And then his lips descended upon your again.

The box that once contained your sweet treat fell to the floor, forgotten in a much more interesting birthday gift.

Today I built this house in the Sims

It was inspired by the idea of a lonely house on a mountainous island... uh I went overboard making the mountain though x'D It's sooo high and the camera controls can't handle it at all mwahahaha

well i had fun so im rambling about it under the cut huhu

Pics 1 &2: I made it for my Moomintroll and Snufkin sims to have a refuge away from the rest of the family >____> lol but I didn't know Granite Falls got snow. Soooo all my pics are in a friggin blizzard hahaha.

3. Kitchen area, still working on it. The connecting room is pretty much a woodshed so I'm thinking of extending the kitchen so I can have a stove too. Trying to think what else to put though. Maybe another card table.

4. The living room area is my fav. Didn't come out exactly how I wanted bc the walls and curtains refused to work, but the point was to make at least a couple instagram-worthy rooms and I think this is one~

5. Bedroom! I've seen some builders on Youtube somehow merge beds with platforms to give them a futon-like look, but I couldn't figure it out, possibly they're using mods which I can't use. Platform still looks nice tho.

6. Still decorating the shelving but I looove the hanging vines in the new plant pack

7. Vanity with a wash basin (its actually that weird decorative cereal bowl) also in the bedroom. There's an en suite bathroom that is too small and normal-looking for a pic.

8. This balcony! It's pretty much the reason I decided to make this build today. I've been wanting to for a while, but today I saw a lovely vid on tumblr of someone walking out onto a snowy balcony with a delicious breakfast on the table. We don't have create food/kitchen clutter in the Sims, but at least the table looks nice with the candles and snow.

9. ok I didn't build this, this is just Granite Falls. BUT IT LOOKS SO PRETTY IN THE WINTER! I so wish we could ice skate!! come on sims time pleeease! the water is useless in winter otherwise T_T I'd say let us go ice fishing but I bet they'd use the same animations as normal fishing in which case who cares

10. last just a pic of the boys enjoying their time together <3 even though Snufkin's Loner and Loves the Outdoors traits made him run out INTO THE BLIZZARD to play violin lickety-split lmao. But first I made him crochet (not my choice, I only intended for Moominmamma to do any crocheting, but Snufkin befriended this birds WHO ONLY EVER GIFT HIM CROCHET PATTERNS. I swear. They have not ONCE given him anything else. He has so many patterns so I decided whatever might as well appease the birds, they can be violent). Meanwhile Moomintroll practices his painting by doing a portrait of his favorite subject ;) yeah I know I need an actual hobby...

07-16-2017 Rudy Birthday 2017 (part 1) Out of the 365 days we have to choose from this one has become one of my very favorites. This was the fourth year I would be taking Rudy out for her birthday and I have to admit planning things are getting harder and harder 😅 I was thinking of a few different ideas but ended up going with the zoo. We went there before but it was rainy so I wanted to go on a nice sunny day, hoping to see more animals. We meet up and caught septa there, while on the train I decided to give her the first gift of the day. I bought her a card, something I don't think I've done before. I also wrote in it but everything I wanted to say wasn't able to fit so I let her ready it from my phone. I wonder what she thought about what I wrote? The card had cool magnets on it, I wonder if she put those up? I meant every word I wrote to her and I feel extremely lucky to have her in my life. She's the best. After the sub we had to catch a bus so while on that I gave her the second gift of the day, the last of the small gifts, it was a DVD she really wanted about a kids parents being killed. She's so odd, but that's what I love about her. She said she really enjoyed the movie and her reaction when she opened it was so cute. I like doing stuff like this. This one dude on the bus checked Rudy out so hard when she walked by, to the point I wanted to say something. I'm not the dude who really cares about that, but relax. We got to the zoo and we walked right on by that long line because your boy thought ahead! Why am I so good at planning this stuff but always forgetting everything else for the other 364 days? Anyway, we immediately started our tour and it was so much fun. Our Snapchat was the bomb that day lol. So many cool animals, like my favorite red panda. But the hit of the day was again the petting zoo. We love those goats and sheep. I was jealous because some adorable goat dude kept pushing up on Kayla. Was following that girl everywhere trying to play it off. She is spoken for goat! After the zoo we went to go ride in the hot air balloon but the line was sooo long. Like an hour wait long. The balloon was one of the main reasons I wanted to go, but we had a bunch of stuff we still had to do. Stuff like visit Kayla cousin, Shalonda. She was fronting on us that day though. We also saw coldilocks and that peacock who was messing with the 🐻. We saw almost all the animals and had to leave because we were both starving at this point. We went downtown because Kayla has been wanting to go to Marathon Grill for such a long time. I have also wanted to go so it was about time. This place did not disappoint. The waitress was nice, even though Rudy was rude to her. I know it wasn't on purpose though. She asked us if we wanted drinks and I didn't want one...but Kayla did. But since I didn't want one she didn't want to order one...so bratty. I got tired of going back and forth with her so I just ordered her a drink. It was a pomegranate margarita that was really strong. I think she liked it though. I had a grapefruit Collins. A twist on my favorite drink and it was so good. If I saw that in the beginning I would have def ordered it. Want to go back for it actually. 😋 Okay so there weren't a lot of options to choose from but what they lack in quantity they make up for in quality! I had the Marathon burger which was a cheeseburger with bacon and some sauce. It was delicious. The only thing Kayla could eat was the salmon burger and that looked incredible too. They both came with fries which was great because they were tasty and I don't think I would want to share them lol. We didn't get dessert because we walked by a Rita's and made plans to get water ice after for dessert. We have to go back and get dessert next time. I really liked that place and our table. So our plans for Rita's hit a snag because we both forgot where it was lol 😅. But luck for us Insomnia Cookie's is right across the street! We walked there and got ice cream sandwiches. Well she did and I got a Brownie with ice cream. It was sooo bomb. Kayla got cookie dough with sugar cookies? Her mind is one of a kind. The girl who made the sandwich for her had to be confused. We stood there and ate while we took more pics for Snapchat and IG. But again, I had more in store for us. We went to lush to get Rudy (and me) some cool stuff. Rudy got a bubble bar and a bath bomb that I'm still anxious to see. I got two bathbombs and a sample of beard wash. It's really nice. My bath bombs were so amazing. Unfortunately I used them both. My favorite was definitely intergalactic, I have to buy that again. After lush Rudy and I went to Blick. I told her we were going to the bowling alley. Trick her! We got there just as it was closing, which was my fear, but we managed to grab some paint and some paint things. She still had no idea about her finally 3 gifts. Well two of them, she knew about the one. So we got the paint stuff and I used my Blick card which I think surprised Kayla that I had. We came back to my house and I made her go directly to my room after she spoke to everyone. I had to set up her big bday gifts! It was hot as hell downstairs so I worked up a sweat putting this big gift together lol. Luckily I had practiced putting it together a few weeks before so I would understand how it worked. I put it together and called her downstairs. I made her come down the steps with her eyes closed lol. So dangerous. So after I set her up on the couch I let her open her eyes to see her gifts. I got her a super cool painting easel. A bunch of canvases and a giant hello Kitty in a bunny outfit. She was totally shocked by this easel and it made me so happy to see her reaction. She isn't great or even good with emotions and even worse with words but I know this woman pretty well so I knew how much she loved it. I think this topped the record player. I believe in this woman so much and I need her to paint more. She's too special and talented to not take this more serious. After I gave her those we came up to my room and hung out. I absolutely love hanging and growing and laughing with her. No one is more special. Don't think anyone ever will be. Even though I had to force her to call her dad for a ride. She's so stubborn it kills me. I wish I had a pic of the easel to post here, but... Anyway, this was just the Saturday before her bday. Her actual bday post will be posted soon..
