#the battle of ranskoor av kolos was. a little to messy and focused on what was happening.

i don't think i've ever watched a season of a show that fast.
i really liked season eleven. i think the character arcs were mostly well balanced–i do wish there had been even two more episodes so we could have spent a bit more time on yaz and ryan, because i think the focus was mostly on graham–but for such a big main cast i think it was done pretty well.
i don't think it's my favorite season–that goes to season four, hands down, and then ten–but i think it's really, really good, and they've got a good story and a good cast. i think the character interactions are really excellent and jodie whittaker is a really good doctor, and all the personalities are really vibrant and wonderful.
the plots are a bit messy and complicated, but when aren't they? zombie mud aliens in a witchfinder episode isn't so much less believable than shapeshifting giant wasps and agatha christie. and i like that they're self contained enough that they're all in one episode, because i think with only ten they don't have enough to waste on a double feature.
i think what i'm driving at is that i love doctor who because it's a show that goes into the highest heights and lowest depths of humanity, puts people in crazy situations and tries to see how they'd react, because it talks about family and grief and the hugeness of the universe and kindness and cruelty and it loves every last bit of it, and it doesn't take it too seriously unless it has to.
and i think season eleven does that really well.
