i did enjoy jacob elordi's cunty angel wings, and i respect barry for fucking that grave, but saltburn should not be winning awards
#and rosamund pike was v good as well#but i'm just tired of people telling me it's a movie about class#it's a movie about the upper class#sure#and the ascent of a member of the middle to upper class#but it has nothing insightful to say about the british class system at all#and now rich kids are running around on tiktok talking about their 'saltburn' inspired dinner parties#the british aristocracy is alive and thriving still and i hate it#and unfortunately movies like this allow for the upper class to luxuriate in their wealth without feeling any guilt or shame#if anything the movie should be treated like a pretty pulp runaround#and just cos it's got myth and art historical visual references doesn't mean it did anything interesting with them#idk ignore all of this obvs i'm only ranting#just watch brideshead revisted and take some acid#that will be more fun#and gayer
