My favourite character just died horribly in the space torture book, finally free, potentially confessing his love for the protagonist, the protagonist having to /mercy kill/ his first and closest friend, the knives, the intimacy, the devotion, the trust in a man capable of being terrible because he is so grimly devoted to trying to be Good, the sheer rage and despair and hope of it all
I think I'm going to. Die. Thanks

DAMN ANON, making me work lmao. I appreciate it tho <3
3. Orientation and Relationship status (single, taken (by who?), crush (on who?))
Luke is a bi disaster! And he’s taken by Frank Woods!
4. Race and Ethnicity
White. British and American.
5. Height and Body type
He’s 5′10″. He’s got a fit body, a product from his assassin training and his parkour skills. But compared to someone like Frank, he’s slightly smaller.
6. Headcanon VA
Same as his face claim, Skeet Ulrich!

27. What’s their family like? Who’s in it? What’s their relationship with them?
His family-life was very complicated throughout his childhood, but slowly got better as he got older. Especially with Frank and the kiddos being added in.
He’s got his mom, Roberta. Leila, a family friend who became his second mom. Alfred, another family friend who became his one true father figure up until his death. Brandon, his childhood best friend who is essentially his brother. Frank, his husband. Alex Mason, a very close family friend to both Luke and Frank. Athena, his eldest child, and Jonathan, his youngest. And last but not least, David Mason, his adoptive son.
28. Are they literate? Did they go to school? How long? What level?
Yep, he’s literate. He completed all 12 years of school: elementary, middle, and high school, eventually graduating. He tried college but saw his duties as an assassin to be more important.
29. What was childhood like?
It was rough to say the least. His mom and him were constantly on the move to avoid the Templars, she didn’t want him involved in anything until he was older. They didn’t settle down in one place until an incident involving 12-year old Luke and a templar made Roberta rethink her strategy. She ended up leaving Luke with Alfred one night, and disappearing. She hated doing that to her son, but she realized that she could divert the Templar’s attention if she left. Needless to say, it didn’t sit well with Luke. He ended up being super rebellious and a wild child until they reunited when Luke was 16. Roberta’s made up for it by time Luke’s a full blown assassin.
30. What was adolescence like?
Like I mentioned above, he was a very rebellious kid at heart. He didn’t hesitate to put anyone in their place, whether they were a classmate, a cop, a teacher, etc. He was a lot more closed off compared to his adult version, but Brandon and Nancy, his high school sweetheart, often got through to him. Speaking of Brandon, the two often got into a lot of trouble: stealing, messing with the rich kids or known bullies, staying out way past curfew, etc. Alfred was surprised the two never got each other killed with some of the shit they pulled.
31. What’s their current main conflict?
Currently, Cold War is always on my brain, so the main conflict would be Perseus and that whole ordeal. Underneath all of the Black Ops storyline, Luke’s main task is to hunt Amelia and her crew down and assassinate them all, considering she’s gotten her fingers all over Nova 6 and now Project Greenlight.
32. What steps have they taken to overcome this conflict?
Helping Mason, Hudson, and Weaver track down the broadcast station to prevent Nova 6 from being set off worldwide is one of the major feats. During the BO1 storyline, Luke managed to off a few of Amelia’s officers in Vietnam, weakening her influence there and among the KGB.
33. How have they changed over time?
He realized one of his major flaws was his anger towards the Templars, often causing him to act recklessly. He’s made more of an effort to be level-headed, even if the mere thought of Amelia pisses him of to no end. While he still tends to be reckless at times, he promised Frank he’d be more careful. Plus he knows what it’s like to grow up without a dad, so he doesn’t want the same to happen to his kids. He’s also come to terms with a lot of the shit that’s happened in his life. It’s out of his control, and some could argue that it helped make him into the man he is currently. No need to stress himself out over it, though it is easier said than done.
35. What are they like as a friend?
Definitely the kind that willing to listen if you need to get shit off of your chest. He’ll either stay silent and let you vent, or try to give the best advice he can offer. The closer you are with him, the more loyal he is. Loyal to the point that he would take a bullet for the person if needed. However, his trust is not easily earned even if it may seem like it. And his trust can be easily broken after one drastic mistake.
36. What are they like as a partner?
Luke’s alright with PDA, and will be the initiator if his partner is also okay with it. Frank’s prefers to keep major acts of affection when it’s just the two of them, which Luke is alright with. He may hold his hand, or rub his back while around others, but keeps it between them for the most part. One of his key things is that he never wants Frank to doubt their love or their relationship. Whether directly or indirectly, he’ll do what it takes to get it through Frank’s thick head that he loves him no matter what, that’s he’s here to stay. This especially comes into play after Frank ends up in a wheelchair.
38. Did/do they go anywhere special for vacations?
Luke loves and misses the beach from time to time, so I imagine Frank likes to take him down whether on a date or some bonding time with the kids. I’m stealing one of Gabby’s ideas because I like the idea of them going up to Alaska to visit Alex, especially during holidays like Forth of July where the load commotion is just too much for them. I also imagine that Frank likes to camp, and loves to take Luke and kids out, or sometimes just Luke, just to get away from civilization for a while.
41. What’s their morning routine like?
He tends to get up pretty early. Usually walks to the kitchen, still in his pjs, and starts making some coffee for Frank if he’s not up yet. Sometimes, if Johnny is awake, Luke will carry him to the kitchen to give him his breakfast early. If Frank wakes up before Luke, Frank tends to take care of Johnny, so Luke will get a head start on breakfast.

49. What are some themes tied to your character’s story?
Coming of Age, betrayal, forgiveness, family, heroism, revenge, good vs. evil (thought its not black and white), love and sacrifice, dealing with a legacy.
52. How are you and your character the same? How are you different?
Considering I see him as a self-insert, there’s a lot we have in common. We’re both trans masc bi guys. Both love the same marine LMAO. Similar fashion styles, or at least how I want my wardrobe to look at some point. Neither of us are very open about any mental health issues we have and we both speak fluent sarcasm.
Difference include body shapes. He’s on T and has top surgery, and I don’t (yet). He’s definitely more athletic, and probably braver.  Definitely more confident in himself and his abilities.
53. Expectations vs Reality: what did you expect and what did you get with this character?
Honestly, he’s what I expected overall. He’s gone through years of changes, like him and Leila used to be one character lmao. But now I can confidently say that he’s where I want him to be for the most part.
54. What does your character want, and what do they need?
Luke’s always just wanted a family. He wanted to meet his dad, he wanted his mom to come home, he wanted to believe that he would find love, and he got two of those things. In terms of needs; some closure, and a break lmao.
55. What’s your character’s core trait? What’s their best trait? What’s their worst trait? When happens when these all interact with each other?
His core trait would probably be that’s he devoted. He’s devoted to his family, the brotherhood, the people he tries to protect. But he’s also devoted to get rid of Amelia and all of the Black Ops antagonists. One of his best is that he’s loyal; it goes hand in hand with being devoted. Worst? He tends to be impulsive, especially on the field.
The best example of the three coming together is when Luke decided to go back to Vietnam to look for Frank. His loyalty and devotion to Frank are key reason why he doesn’t believe Frank isn’t just straight up dead, and his impulsiveness led him to throw out any possibility of the mission going to shit. He just wanted to find Frank.
56. What’s your overall goal with this character? Will they get a happy ending or will they succumb to their faults?
I’m a gay yearning motherfucker, so my goal was to have someone bang Woods for me since I can’t lmao. I live vicariously through him to live out my gay ass dreams. And I want him to have a happy ending because my son deserves it.

Another week!
Destiny #020
1)  You say “imagine how happy they’d be!” But knowing you I’m pretty sure that’s not that direction you’re going in T_T Anyways, a stray thought came across my mind while reading this chapter. I’m around these some of these kids age right? With some definitely younger than me yet, if I were in their position, I would most likely have died on the first day... They’re truly the best of their world, huh? Imagine being that powerful. Beyond even their experiences, because even when they all first started their journey they were surely inexperienced and still faced many hardships without losing hope (or dying lmao). But they are after all, protagonists, and people don’t write stories about others who can’t survive something dangerous in the first place. One of these dangerous things being sacrifices! I swear to god, no one can every say chivalry is dead with these people. Constantly making sacrifices. I don’t consider myself all that selfish, but all they’re selflessness makes me think otherwise. What with Diamond putting himself in harm’s way for Platinum (although him, I can understand, he does love her and it *is* sort of his duty?) and Blue sacrificing her somewhat artificial happiness in the last chapter, and just so much more. Let me tell you, if I had seen zombies, I would have said fuck this and high tailed my way outta there. You’re on your own lady, I’m not turning into a cannibal by eating brains even when there’s legendaries band in order to escape someone would need to hold them back. Although what could one person do anyhow. The odds are just too high against them. Going back to stray thoughts, when you mentioned the ice shard near the end of the chapter the only thing that came across my mind was, “that fucking weavile again”. And lo behold! That fucking weavile again. For a guy having over 200 Pokémon with many different kinds of attacks, he sure does love using that one ice shard attack to ambush people. (Might I dare say that he’s... a simpleton at heart?!). Peter can go suck it tbh.
Well, I think that’s common in most anime/manga, right? The protagonists tend to survive things that they have no chance in surviving. And because of that, I try to ignore some of the realistic damages that would be done to them. If I try to keep things too realistic, everyone would die very quickly. Hehe.
Haha. Everyone for themselves in a zombie attack? Well, maybe if you had someone you’re devoted to, that might change. I think I would do what Diamond did, personally.
Ah, yes. The freaking Weavile. The Mega Hunter is based on a real life friend who may or may not still be in Pokemon Special Discord, so the Pokemon he uses in Destiny are pretty much what he has in his game files, using combos that he uses in the games. Like that Eruption all-in. Motherf*cking Eruption all-in... Anyways. The Weavile is his anti-sweep guy. It’s his contingency Pokemon in case his opponent used Dragon Dance or Quiver Dance one too many times and is in danger of sweeping the entire team. Fake Out for free damage. Then Ice Punch or Knock Off on the turn it takes a hit and survives with Focus Sash, and if that’s not enough, Ice Shard afterwards. And usually the Ice Shard does enough, especially if the boosted Pokemon is not resistant to Ice. And because of that, if he’s not using a dedicated all-in team, the Weavile is ALWAYS THERE. So... freaking Weavile, indeed.

Destiny #021
1)  I mean, damn. I can hardly blame her for her decision, it’s actually a little genius. Betraying trust for either side would be awful for Blue (even though Peter was *technically* the one to kill Silver, but FINE Blue whatever) and so... why not just give up the chance of both? Until she comes to the realization that stepping out would actually be betraying both sides, which would probably make her feel worse. I wonder what it will be that makes Blue join the Dexholder’s side? It’s gotta be in just a little while. I can’t see her changing her mind too quickly, but at at least in the next 15 chapters, I think? That’s a large gap. And maybe it’ll be Green who finds her and finally manages to convince her to fight. Well, we’ll just have to see. But regarding Silver... I had no idea he would die. It makes a bit of sense now, since he did not have a lot of screen time (? Fic time? Or maybe just focus..). And this actually kind of surprises me because I would have imagined that you’d take the opportunity to hit it where it hurts (no judgement it’s a writer thing to do), which then makes me realize you probably will... but who? My bets are on Diamond. That would hurt admittedly. And you said three deaths, right? Then either Black or White (not just because they’re from a different generation, but because one of them would die right after finding each other again). But then I also remember you seeing “no more than”, so it might just be two. No joke tho, when Platinum stepped into the graveyard I’d been ready to bet 500 in cold hard cash that Diamond was brainwashed. Had there been anyone to bet with me I could have boughten a PlayStation 4 for myself.
Ah, poor Blue. Declaring neutrality after losing all hope in life... but she’s not truly allowed to be neutral... ... 15 chapters? Heh. That’s FAR too long. If she’s left to herself and so she has to rely on her mood steadily improving, then yes, it would probably take 15 chapters or something. But if she was to be... shocked out of her state...
And if memory serves... this was the chapter I wrote while I was in the hospital after getting stabbed. And I had to type with one hand because I couldn’t move my left after that incident. That was... almost 5 years ago. Damn.
Hehe. Silver used up his screen time to increase someone else’s screen time. Hitting where it hurts? ... Well, I do that at times. But I also hit where it doesn’t hurt at times. In short, I just hit. ... Sounds awful in and out of context. Hmm... Three deaths, huh? Well, I remember saying that in early Destiny. But I also remember saying that I retract that statement later on, upping the max death count from 3 to unspecified. “It might just be two”. Ohohoho!
Hehe. Oh, you are right before the chapter that has the critical scene which helped create Destiny in the first place. And I eagerly await your reaction. Huhuhu...

okay im deleting and reposting this because i put a swear word in the tags and it wasnt even showing up in searches for my personal, and i don’t trust the mobile editor to fix my problems but its time 4 me to make a post
Here's what I’ve got for a Thunderbirds D&D AU! I'm not gonna get into numbers and stats and levels because I do that enough when I play normal d&d and I'm gay and tired. Also, there’s probably gonna be a touch of rule bending not only to reconcile d&d with the Thunderbirds canon but just to boost the fun factor a bit. It’s not like we’re setting up a playable campaign so it doesn’t really matter as long as we’re not making it unrecognisable as part of the d&dverse. At that point, you might as well just call it a fantasy AU (still lit tho lmao). This is mostly TOS based but I’ll add some notes on TAG stuff now and then in italics because I’m here to provide. It’s hefty, so everything's under the cut. Hopefully comprehensible.
IR (presumably going by some other name but we’ll just stick with that for sake of ease) is still a rescue organisation - it operates on a somewhat smaller scale but access to magic means it’s got a pretty big reach for typical d&d technology. It’s centred around an ancient deity that few people have heard of and even fewer worship. There’s only one known temple dedicated to said deity and it had been abandoned for a long time before they found it, so it’s currently being restored - if rather agonizingly slowly. Anyway, IR is deity-based because nothing screams “fight for a cause” like paladins! They’re paladins, mostly, is what I’m saying.
Jeff is likely an ex-adventurer, probably a paladin but I’m seriously considering cleric just for interest’s sake so sue me, I love clerics. His party did some pretty cool stuff back in the day, and adventuring pays well as long as you don’t die, so he’s pretty well off. He left the party and settled down in one place when Scott was born, and the rest of them presumably disbanded and went about their own lives eventually. Or maybe they’re still out there causing a ruckus. Who knows. Pretty easy to just say “and he’s not there anymore” for TAG, rationalise his disappearance as you please. Either way, at some point he decided to start an organisation that would make saving lives a bit more structured than the usual “Let's hope a squad of adventurers stumbles on our predicament” that people have been relying on.
Scott is a Battle Master archetype fighter who multiclassed into paladin. Battle Master provides the most appropriate mechanics for a field leader, and also seems like the sort of thing Scott would have been doing previous to IR. He’s the least proficient spellcaster of the group if only by virtue of his class, but access to paladin magic gives his fighting an extra kick which, along with the Battle Master maneuvers, makes him pretty damn dangerous with a sword. It also means he can cast Find Steed, and because said steed’s form can go beyond normal when permitted by the DM and we’re making the rules here I’m giving him a pegasus, which is about the fastest flying mount you could get as far as the monster manual goes. A roc would just be too much. Very VERY cool. But too much.
Virgil is a College of Lore bard into paladin. When it comes to support classes, nothing beats a College of Lore bard for versatility. He’s got the range, darling. Slap an arsenal of magic items on that and you’re well on your way to the d&d equivalent of Thunderbird 2. He has some good offensive spells and weapon training but mostly works to keep others from getting hurt. With a high constitution, the Tough feat, good armour and a shield he pretty much becomes a mobile wall to be put between danger and anyone who can’t take too many hits. Find Steed again lets me give him something interesting to ride, and what better than an owlbear. A big one. Not quite as appropriate stat-wise as the pegasus for Scott but when it comes to aesthetics I’m yet to find something as good as a bear-shaped and -sized owl.
John is predominantly a Divination wizard, with a low paladin level - two maximum - giving him access to a lot of powerful magic but leaving him, how do you say, squishy. Divination is gameplay-wise pretty underwhelming, with not many spells to its name, but for someone whose job is centred around keeping an eye on things, the ability to see very far away and receive premonitions is gonna be useful. The system by which distress calls are sent is giving me some concept trouble but when it comes to receiving it’s as easy as a focus with some capability to project images and sound, gear already necessary to cast Scrying. So, as in canon, rather than going out on missions (at least for the most part), it’s John’s job to keep tabs on incoming signals and active operations. This is all based in the previously mentioned temple - out of the way enough to let me call it a T5 equivalent. He also has the secondary job of making sure nothing else tries to take up residence in the decrepit building. They had to clear it of goblins the first time. As far as Eos goes I don’t have room for all my thoughts (so many) but let’s call her a sentient magic item. Additionally, TAG John probs gets a level or two in cleric.
Gordon is a paladin into druid, Circle of the Land (Coast). He and Alan didn't have any previous class levels before becoming paladins. Neither of his classes give any bonuses for it beyond proficiency for paladins but nobody can stop me from making his primary weapon a longbow, plus the Sharpshooter feat is helpful. Coast druid is the only subclass of any d&d class that has a specific focus on water and what could go wrong if we let him turn into animals? It also has some good circle spells, when he gets to that point. He’d probably have a lot of fun with Mirror Image. There was probably an incident that catalysed his becoming a druid, I'd like to think it's the equivalent of the boat crash just placed on a different point in the timeline. Might get into it at a later date.
Alan is just pure paladin, it's all he's really had time to do with his life so far beyond being a kid and growing up, y'know? I’ll get a little into the subclass here, all of IR’s 3rd level or higher paladins take Oath of Devotion. From the PHB: “These paladins meet the ideal of the knight in shining armor, acting with honor in pursuit of justice and the greater good.” Devotion’s core tenets are honesty, courage, compassion, honor, and duty. Also their Channel Divinity: Sacred Weapon is just really cool. Who doesn’t like glowing stuff, man. Alan's got some more powerful paladin abilities than any of his brothers but probably has the lowest total level regardless. Giving him the Athlete feat, which lets him jump and climb a lot easier, feels appropriate. He snuck a griffon home when it was a baby, and is trying to train it. It's not very well behaved and causes a ruckus when it gets bored but he adores it. One day it’ll make a phenomenal companion. For now, it will continue to attempt to eat his fingers.
Brains is an artificer! Love that class. Artificers, rather than casting spells (though they can do that), make magic items. The artificer class is from Unearthed Arcana and a lot of the mechanics can be hit or miss, it’s been revised many times by lots of different people. But when it comes to the basic idea, it’s the obvious choice for Brains. The less common a magic item, the longer it takes and harder it is to make. The higher level an artificer the more, and more powerful, their creations are. Pretty simple. Also pretty much every version of artificer you come across has some sort of option for a mechanical companion so there’s MAX for you.
Tin-Tin is also an artificer, with a few levels in paladin for good measure. Her time is split between making and repairing gear and going out on missions, and when on call is incredibly useful for lightning fixes and is incredibly creative when it comes to the ways magic items (and nonmagic items) can be used to get out of predicaments. This is the character who constantly has Inspiration. Kayo is an Assassin archetype rogue into paladin. Assassins do… a lot of damage. If you know much about d&d rules (I don’t expect you to), the only thing scarier than a bard, stat wise, is a rogue. +10 to stealth is pretty easy to get by 5th level, combine that with Sneak Attack and Assassinate and you can deal up to 26 damage in one hit with a dagger alone. I said I wouldn’t do any maths but I lied.
Penny doesn’t necessarily have any class levels, though rogue would be appropriate. She falls more under the NPC umbrella, somewhere between Noble and Spy, perhaps? NPCs have a lot less restrictions when it comes to what they can and can’t do laterally, but it’s harder to make them powerful without assigning a class. I also think it’d be really neat to use the fantasy setting to make her nonhuman. High elf would be fitting and cool, but she’d also make a fantastic tiefling. Though, like, call me biased, everyone would make a fantastic tiefling.
I think that’s all I’ve got to say on the matter right now. I have a lot more specific details that I’ll get to eventually but this post is more of a jumping off point listing some options for anyone else who might want to mess around with a d&d AU but doesn’t know where to start. Pick out things you like, ditch things you don’t, add whatever sounds cool, and honestly? Congratulations on getting through this whole thing. This post is kind of in shambles. And thanks! I love taking any excuse to pore over these books.
Shoot me an ask or something if anything’s too incomprehensible or there’s something up with the formatting. Later, skaters.

03/PERSONALITY TRAITS/TYPES
Positive Traits: Empathetic, loyal, passionate, hard working, optimistic, kind Negative Traits: Obsessive, lost, easily manipulated, self aggrandizement, bitter Hobbies/Interests: Exy, exy, and more exy. Running and working out, generally pushing themself to the limits. They’re in the process of working on not just being all about Exy, but that hasn’t exactly taken full effect yet, and they don’t quite know who they are when they’re not focusing on the sport. Interests include taking naps, and early morning runs. Insecurities: What isn’t an insecurity at this point? They’re constantly worried that they’ll never really have a home again, that because of everything they’ve done their family is finished with trying with them––it’s been so long since they’ve felt like a real part of the family, after all. That they’re nothing without Exy, and that if they’re not as good as they used to be, they won’t have any future in the sport, and in turn have no real future at all. That how they played on the Buckeyes was their peak and that there’s no way they’ll ever be as good again, no matter how hard they try. All in all, it’s the feeling of pressure that they put on themself, the fear that they’ll keep letting people down if they’re not good enough, and that there’s nothing they can do to change that. Quirks/Eccentricities: Loud obnoxious laugh, blaring music from their earbuds even when they’re not wearing them in their ears, eating cereal in the shower to save time in the morning, taking naps anywhere and everywhere, including inappropriate places even when not tired.  MBTI Type: ESFJ “The Caregiver”; strong practical skills, strong sense of duty, very loyal, sensitive, warm, good at connecting with others, worrier, inflexible, too selfless, often too needy, vulnerable to criticism Enneagram Type: Type 1 “The Reformer”; perfectionists, responsible, fixated on improvement Moral Alignment: Neutral Good Temperament: Melancholic, formally choleric
04/FAMILY & HOME
Immediate Family: Their mother, Michelle Hendrix. A sister only a two years their younger, Mallory. Two half sisters, Candace, four years younger, and Morgan, five years younger, both with different fathers, although they didn’t know this until Casey and Mallory’s dad had left. And then twins a whooping nine years younger than them, Nikki and Ryan. Despite everything, they all have their mother’s last name. How do they feel about their family?: They’re not exactly sure at this point. Even before everything that had happened at Ohio State, things had gone south. As a child, they had been incredibly close with their mom and their younger siblings, practically raising their younger siblings with their mom. When they went to boarding school, things changed, and they spent less and less time with them, almost embarrassed in a way of where they came from. And it was clear when they did go home that everyone else had moved on without them as well. The past year spent at home was awkward, to say the least, not feeling quite like they should’ve been there, but nowhere else to go, and still family, being blamed for fucking things up for themself so thoroughly when they were the one who had the chance to be something bigger than where they were stuck. They want nothing more than to be that close to their family again, but it feels a lot like the damage has already been done. How does their family feel about them?: Distant, to say the least. Their younger siblings who were once so close to them, looking up to them as exactly what they all wanted to be, someone to make it out of Oklahoma and have a life out in the world, now have no idea how to act around them knowing even hints of what happened. While they used to be extremely close, their relationship with their mother now ranges from hostile to apathetic, depending on both of their moods. She put so much into their future, and in a way it feels like they threw it all away. There’s still a loyalty their, they both know what it’s like to be abandoned, after all, what it’s like to be left behind, she would never abandon them, no matter how much they disappointed her. Underneath it all, there’s still support, but it’ll take a long time to build the trust and confidence back up. Pets: Their old family dog, Jade, a big German Shepard who started sleeping on their back porch only a few days after their father left, as if to say I’m here to protect you now. They all silently agreed on keeping her, and she’s been a constant ever since. Being back at home when it no longer felt like home, Jade was truly Casey’s best friend, and the one who got them through it without breaking down completely. What’s better than a big, old, fluffy dog to make you feel less hopeless? Jade is always Casey’s phone background. Where do they live?: Stillwater, Oklahoma for the past year, Fox Tower during the school year. Description of their home: Small and cramped, everyone shares a bedroom with at least one other member of the family, but it’s still bigger than the trailer they lived in when they were a child. They do have a spacious backyard, though, and a wonderful back porch, which Casey spent the majority of their time in while living back at home for a year. Description of their bedroom: Their section of the room in Fox Tower is fairly plain, since they flew in from Oklahoma and couldn’t bring much, and didn’t have a lot of money devoted to buying decorations once here. Their room back at home isn’t their room, and hasn’t been for years; they shared a room with two of their sisters for the year they were home, and it was pretty much them just living in their sisters’ space for a year. It sucked.
