Hollywood headed north last week for the annual Toronto International Film Festival—also known as TIFF—and its bevy of premieres, events and parties.
As usual, I've got all the glam you need to see, including Katherine Langford's winged eyes, Priyanka Chopra's smooth blowout and lots more.

Here are the best celebrity beauty looks:
Katherine Langford

Katherine has quickly become one of my favourites for unique eye makeup looks like this one. (Also remember this, this and this!) It's a cross between a smoky eye and a cat eye, and perfect against her healthy, dewy skin.

Priyanka Chopra

Leave it to Priyanka to bring the glamour. Wearing her hair loose and smooth dresses down the strapless gown, while heavy black liner and creamy brick lipstick elevate the makeup. It's all quite matte, but I actually don't mind!
Dakota Johnson

Dakota always manages to look effortless, and here, it's because of her messy bun with loose, face-framing pieces. The makeup is her signature berry lipstick colour with jet-black lashes and bare-looking skin.
Dakota is wearing: Lipstick in Matte Berry
Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett brightened up her complexion with a juicy sheer pink lipstick and matching blush. Then, the light gold highlighter at the inner corners of her eyes ties in with her metallic dress.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw

Gugu is channelling the 1980s in fuschia lipstick with an iridescent finish. Purple eyeliner and a high, curly updo complete the look. So fun!
Gugu is wearing: Eyeshadow in 15 • Eyeliner in 5 • False lashes • Lipstick in Maharajah
Kristen Stewart

Few people could ever pull off this exaggerated graphic eyeliner and shaggy bleached undercut, but somehow it's kinda cute on Kristen. (The Chanel outfit probably has something to do with that!)
Ana de Armas

Ana played up her amazing eye colour with smudgy winged liner and a generous dusting of tawny shadow (which blends into her blush). I'm just not a fan of the bleached eyebrows.
Ana is wearing: Lip gloss in Noce Moscata
Felicity Jones

Felicity kept it simple with side-swept bangs, softly waved hair and a slick of deep magenta lipstick. She's barely wearing any blush, and her eyes are emphasized with just a little liner and au naturel lashes. Love!
Shailene Woodley

Now this is a smoky eye I'd love to copy. Shailene has black liner all the way around her eyes, with chunky lashes and grey shadow up to the brows. I love it with the messy hair and real skin. (Okay, maybe a little too real... she looks like she got a lot of sun this summer!)
Natalie Portman

We've seen this look on her many times before, but Natalie is still gorgeous in an elegant updo and smoky eye makeup. I especially love the extra-thick eyeliner, and the pink blush and lipstick makes it pretty.
Natalie is wearing: Foundation • Eyeshadow in Warm Neutrals • Mascara • Brow mascara • Lipstick in Whisper • Lipstick in Ultra Ambitious
Bryce Dallas Howard

Bryce was born to wear vampy berry lipsticks (remember this look?). Here, it grounds the half-up hairstyle and matte pink eyeshadow with a sense of sophistication. Notice how her upper lashes are jet black and chunky, but she left the lower lash lines bare.
Imogen Poots

Imogen is just so natural and pretty—even with short baby bangs that are next to impossible to pull off! A little eyeliner and defined lower lashes are all she needs to dress up her undone updo.
Keke Palmer
Tumblr media
Keke Palmer at the 2019 Toronto premiere of 'Hustlers.'
Tumblr media

Reverse cat eyes were the focus for Keke's look, with the inner corners dipping down into precise, graphic points. She wisely paired 'em with a slick updo, brown lipstick and false lashes (the latter are a little over-the-top up close, but fine from afar).
Keke is wearing: Foundation • Concealer • Contour in Brown Sugar • Blush in Body Language • Highlighter • Eyeliner in Blacquer 42 • Mascara • Brow pencil • Lip liner in Chestnut
Lili Reinhart

Tumblr media

When your dress has sleeves like this, wearing your hair down is NOT an option. Instead, Lili paired a slicked-back updo with purple smoky eyes and fresh skin. Browns and blacks would have been too heavy (and predictable) with the white dress!
Lili is wearing: Foundation in 2N and 3N • Concealer in Light and Medium • Powder in Light Beige • Eyeshadow in Amber Neutrals • Blush in Hologram • Lipstick in Caress • Lipstick in Flower
Brie Larson
Tumblr media
Brie Larson at the 2019 Toronto premiere of 'Just Mercy.'
Tumblr media
Close-up of Brie Larson at the 2019 Toronto premiere of 'Just Mercy.'
Brie played it safe with her hair and makeup, but only because the back of her dress looked like this! The peachy-pink blush and lipstick are lovely with her skin, accented by that little pop of glow on her cheek. I'm just not in love with the shape of the updo (I prefer flatter on top).
Brie is wearing: Moisturizer • Foundation in 20 and 30 • Blush in Rose Petale • Eyeshadow in Clair-Obscur • Lipstick in Metallic Beige and Légèreté
Madeline Brewer
Tumblr media

Tumblr media

Madeline went for classic bombshell beauty, and to be honest, I find it a little dated. Maybe that's because I'm expecting looks like this from her! The kitten eyes and peachy makeup are fine, but I think it would be better if her hair was tied back.
Jennifer Lopez
Tumblr media
Jennifer Lopez at the 2019 Toronto premiere of 'Hustlers.'
Tumblr media
Close-up of Jennifer Lopez at the 2019 Toronto premiere of 'Hustlers.'
Quelle surprise, JLo did her usual "ring around the eyes" eyeshadow and goopy, overdrawn lip gloss—this time, in orange tones to go with her yellow dress. I actually don't mind this from afar, it's just that the application is so heavy-handed. Also, her new blonde lob is very chic!
Constance Wu
Tumblr media
Constance Wu at the 2019 Toronto premiere of 'Hustlers.'
Tumblr media
Close-up of Constance Wu at the 2019 Toronto premiere of 'Hustlers.'
Constance is trying to out-glam JLo, don't you think? While I do like this long, straight, shiny hairstyle, and even the glossy skin, the makeup—especially the blush—is way too heavy. She doesn't need this much!
Jessica Biel
Tumblr media
Jessica Biel at the 2019 Toronto premiere of 'Limetown.'
Tumblr media
Close-up of Jessica Biel at the 2019 Toronto premiere of 'Limetown.'
Jessica exudes confidence in one of the most minimal makeup looks at this festival. To go with her menswear-inspired suit, she rocked barely-there eye makeup with a sheer, matte peach lipstick and a neat updo.
Chloe Bennet
Tumblr media
Chloe Bennet at the 2019 Toronto premiere of 'Abominable.'
Tumblr media
Close-up of Chloe Bennet at the 2019 Toronto premiere of 'Abominable.'
I like that Chloe's tawny makeup palette is an unexpected choice with her baby blue dress. However, with her Ombré colour, piecey waves and heavy false lashes, I find this a little dated.
Chloe is wearing: Powder • Lipstick in Ultra Tender
Nicole Kidman
Tumblr media

Tumblr media

Lately, Nicole keeps giving us long blonde hair and red lipstick, when all we want is her red hair back and a little eyeliner! (Like this—her best look in recent memory.) Also, her cheeks are getting so inflated, they're making her eyes recede!
Nicole is wearing: Moisturizer • Face oil • Sunscreen • Eyeshadow in Nude Dip • Mascara • Lipstick in Daring Red • Lipstick in Classic Red

Kitchen Colour Ideas And Combinations
Make Your Home Stylish With These 20 Kitchen Colour Ideas And Combinations
The days of kitchens being drab colourless spaces are gone. Nowadays it is one of the most important spaces in a home and hence needs to be spiced up and look as inviting as the food you make. One way to make your kitchen stand out is to choose vibrant and aesthetically pleasing colour combinations that liven the room. You can do this either by choosing solid hues or attractive combinations. If you are confused about what colours to choose to make your kitchen look attractive then you should either consult best interior designers in Mumbai or professional modular kitchen manufacturers and designers. If you wan to give it a try by your own then follow this handy guide. Here are our favourite kitchen colour ideas and kitchen colour combinations that would easily spice up any kitchen.
1.Fifty Shades Of Grey:
If you want an ultra-modern kitchen try a monochromatic colour scheme. A good tip when choosing a monochromatic colour scheme is to vary the tones and hues of the colour itself. For example, in this grey kitchen, there is a variation in the grey aspects of the different kitchen accents including the cabinets, counter-tops etc. This gives the effect if visual depth when combined.
2. Pops Of Colour:
If you want your kitchen to look sleek but still have some colour then try out this colour combination of black and yellow. This is a very restrained colour palette and yet a lot can be done with it. The somberness of the uniform black is balanced with vibrant pops of bright yellow on the accents. The minimalistic use of accessories, the open plan of the kitchen and the sleek ebony light fixture provide further visual relief to this kitchen.
3.
Red And Ebony Kitchen Colour Ideas
:
In this aesthetically balanced kitchen the warm red and the cool black match with each other to create a lively yet cool space. This colour combination is perfect for a modern kitchen because of the contrasts in sheen- the super glossy cabinets and the matte ebony countertop makes a deep visual effect. Combining this intense colour with white floors balances the space out and makes for a great design choice.
4. Coral And White:
This is a brighter and more simple version of the classic red and black combination mentioned above. As shown in the picture, the walls and the countertop of the kitchen are white while the steel appliances provide a textural difference when combined with matte coral cabinets. This also neutralises the background and makes the coral accents the star of the kitchen. These design variations are a key element of the modern style. This is one of the most sought after kitchen colour ideas and combinations.
5. Pastel Pink:
This beautiful pastel pink kitchen looks like something out of a fairytale cottage. The monochrome pink livens up the space while the pastel purple creates a pretty contrast effect and stands out. Even over here, different shade variations of pastel pink are used to offer visual depth and richness of texture.
6. Pastel Kitchen Colour Ideas:
If you want a soft muted yet sophisticated look for your kitchen then opt for this pastel colour scheme. These pale and subtle pastels like blush pink and light teal liven up the room but are also not jarring to the eye. The golden accents on the cabinets provide a variation in texture and draw attention the pretty light teal cabinets. The marble floors also provide a fresh new texture and balance the space out in a pleasing manner.
7. Steel And Coral:
This combination of coral and steel also provides an excellent variation in texture. This colour combination is all about sleek sophistication of the steel accents mixed in with vibrant coral. The black neutralises the background and shine the spotlight on the coral cabinets and countertops. The glossy light fixtures are an excellent design feature giving this kitchen a modern and fresh look.
8. Orange And Ebony:
If you want a kitchen that is peppy but is afraid that too much of bright colour will look gaudy then go for this colour combination of orange and ebony. Almost everything in this kitchen is a bright orange except for the solid black countertop. This neutralises the orange and creates a texture variation against the glossy cabinets. The addition of the beautiful fixtures is a statement piece that will further liven up this room and will for sure ba conversation-starter.
9. Eggplant:
This inky eggplant shade is perfect if you want to achieve a royal and elegant look. It is vibrant enough that it livens up the room and subtle enough that it does not look too gaudy. This is one example where a completely monochrome look with no shade variations still looks striking. The golden fixtures add to the royal look and the grey walls even out the whole look. This is one of the newest kitchen colour ideas and combinations since its very unique.
10. Sky Blue Kitchen Colour Ideas:
For a calming and charming look try out this cool shade of sky blue. The white cabinets combined with this shade of sky blue add cheer to the room while also maintaining a subtle look. The steel refrigerator adds an interesting and fresh texture to the kitchen and the sheen contrasts with the matte colours. The checkered square space on the floor is a great design variation which maintains the fresh and modern look. These different design features pull this kitchen together to create a dazzling yet subtle aesthetic.
11. White And Gold:
If you love all-white kitchen colour ideas but don’t want to follow the convention of an all-white kitchen which is trending nowadays, opt for a white and gold kitchen. Keep the white feel with marble countertops and the cabinets of the kitchen island in a monochrome solid colour. Add metallic gold accents like light fixtures, hardware, and accessories to maintain the ethereal look of the kitchen. These design features combine to create a glamourous looking kitchen without being completely white.
12.
Green And Wood
:
If you love all things natural including your kitchen then bring this vibe to your kitchen. This refreshing green and wood theme kitchen colour combination brings the nature inside. You can use any shade of green that you like the best like olive green, leafy green or a pale celery shade and combine it with simple woodwork in wood tone. This creates a charming rustic effect.
13.
Brown Kitchen
Colour Ideas:
More of an earthy person? Then ground your kitchen with various shades of the sand and earth. Instead of going monochromatic and painting the entire kitchen brown you can mix and match the shades and textures by having dark brown paint on the cabinets, simple woodwork while opting for a lighter brown on the walls. Even though it is a sedate colour, it really captures the elegance of this kitchen.
14. Aqua and Wood:
Reinvent gorgeous beaches with this beautiful aqua and sand colour combination. Different shades of aqua appear on the backsplash and the stools while the cabinets are a light woody shade. The wood provides a nice balance between the peppy and bold colour and creates a striking look. The white of the countertops just adds to the beachy effect (white sand anyone?).
15. Purple And Pink Kitchen Colour Ideas:
If you loved playing with dollhouses as a kid and always wanted to have a pretty kitchen just like the ones in the dollhouse then this dazzling pink and purple combination is perfect.  The pink and purple contrast very well against each other while the steel hardware provides the balancing effect and refreshing texture. the contrast is not too bright and is just perfect to create this dazzling kitchen. Plus perfect symmetry is maintained between the two colours which further balances the aesthetic.
16. Aqua, Vermilion And White:
This beautifully invigorating colour combination isn’t generally associated with kitchens. But the effect is amazingly energetic and friendly and definitely the vibe that you want in your kitchen. The key is to try and restrain the palette so that it doesn’t seem juvenile and the key to do that is to keep it simple and let the colour transition cleanly. Add only a few design accents in the bright more pooing colour i.e vermillion. For example, the orange light fixtures immediately catch the eye.
17. Orange And Blue:
This vibrant colour combination of orange and blue soothes and energises the space at the same time. The orange is a bold, peppy shade which is grounded by the calming blue. This reimagination of fire and water is perfect for a modern kitchen as it livens up the space while also keeping it grounded.
18. Blood Red, Grey And Wood:
The combination of blood-red, grey and wood makes the perfect modern kitchen. There are textural contrasts due to the wood and the matte cabinets and countertops. The red and grey combine to give a sleek and contemporary look and the red is colour blocked within the grey. All these design variations are key elements of a modern kitchen.
19. Black And Gold:
The black and gold combine together to give an attractive and glamourous feel to this kitchen. The different shades of black create visual depth while the metallic golden hardware and fixtures dazzle the entire space.  The room has a perfect balance of sleek and glamour while the woodwork balances the space out and provides textural variations.
20. White And Wood Kitchen Colour Ideas:
Another refreshing take on the trendy all-white kitchen is this combination of white and wood. The white cabinets make the kitchen look ethereal and sophisticated while the natural wooden tones give a refreshing vibe. The minimalist accents and backsplashes make this kitchen effortlessly stylish and perfect symmetry is maintained between the wooden tones and the white colour.
This brings us to the end of the list of 20 gorgeous  Kitchen colour ideas and kitchen colour combinations for a modular kitchen. As you can see the key is to maintain textural and design variations to attain the perfect modern kitchen.  If you love the types of modular kitchens featured in this list then check out Urban Dreams for more gorgeous and creative designs that will transform your house into your dream home. Met Gala 2018
Salma Hayek
Makeup by Matthew Van Leeuwen using Charlotte Tilbury products
COMPLEXION: -Salma’s skin was prepped with Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream applied to her face and neck. -Salma wore Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation in shades 6 and 7 blended with Hollywood Flawless Filter in shade 5. -The Retoucher concealer in shade 3 was applied around the eyes and nose where needed, to mask any minor imperfections. -Charlotte’s Hollywood Contour Wand in Medium/Dark was paired with Filmstar Bronze & Glow in Medium/Dark to contour and add definition to the cheeks, temples, jawline and nose. -To add an ultra-flattering pop of colour, Pretty Youth Glow Filter in Pretty Fresh was applied using Cheek Hug Brush for targeted, sculpting application.
EYES: -To create Salma’s smoldering eye look, Charlotte’s Bigger Brighter Eyes palette in Transform-Eyes was applied. -The soft champagne gold PRIME shade was applied to the eyelid to help prime the eyelids making them look wider, fresher and elongated. A pop was added to the inner corners of the eyes too, to give the appearance of wider, brighter eyes. -The ENLARGE shade, an enhancing copper-gold was used to contour the outer socket. This light-reflecting shade lifts the look of the eye. -Next, the DEFINE shade was applied along Salma’s lash line to add definition, brighten and lift the look of the eye. 5.The look was finished with the deep brick red POP shade. This shade colour-contrasts with most eye coluors, adding vividness to the iris like a filter does. -To add subtle definition to Salma’s brows and structure to her face, her brows were brushed up using Legendary Brows in Clear and softly filled using Brow Lift in Naomi. -Rock ‘N’ Kohl eyeliner pencil in Elizabeth Violet was drawn along the water line while Rock ‘N’ Kohl eyeliner pencil in Barbarella Brown was used to create an elongated feline flick for a subtle cat eye effect. -Salma’s eye makeup look was finished using lashings of Charlotte’s Legendary Lashes Volume 2 on her top and bottom lashes.
LIPS: -Salma’s look was completed using Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pink Venus. Salma’s lips were then filled using Charlotte’s Hot Lips lipstick in Hot Emily, a bright warm coral hue and finished with a coat of the Collagen Lip Bath for a plumper, wider-looking pout. -And finally, before Salma left for the red carpet, a light dusting of Charlotte’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder in shade 2 was applied to perfect the skin to prevent excess shine.

Met Gala 2018
Rihanna
Makeup by Priscilla Ono using Fenty Beauty products
How-to: To create the base for Rihanna’s full Fenty Beauty look, Priscilla started with Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer to prevent shine and pave the way for smooth makeup application. Priscilla applied Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in 370 for a soft matte flawless complexion. To define her face, Priscilla used Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Truffle, a few shades deeper than Rihanna’s complexion, to contour and define her face. For the lips, Priscilla applied Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Spanked with extra shimmer on top for a subtle sheen. To finish the look, Priscilla applied Invisimatte Blotting Powder on the t-zone to absorb excess shine and diffuse pores for an instantly filtered appearance.
Hair by Yusef Williams
The inspiration: “John Galliano is the inspiration of all inspiration. For this look, I wanted to go back in time and create this Vatican-homage, but with a single finger wave to make it feel modern and more avant-garde.”
How-to: – Begin with wet hair and blow dry on high heat using the new Dyson Supersonic hair dryer professional edition. – Once dry, use the Phyto Specific Curl Legend Spray to hydrate before pulling the hair into a pony. – Then use the Phyto Professional Workable Holding Spray and Fiber Paste and continue drying hair. You don’t even need a flat iron because the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer professional edition is so good. – From here, create finger waves on either side of face, using the flat iron to create the flat waves. – Then, brush out using a fine tail comb, locking in the shape with the Phyto Professional Workable Holding Spray.

Met Gala 2018
Emily Ratajowski
Makeup by Joyce Bonelli for Marc Jacobs Beauty
How-to: To start, Bonelli created a smooth complexion by prepping the skin with the Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer to hydrate the skin in anticipation of foundation application. She then used the Shameless Youthful-Look 24-Hour Foundation in Y370 and Remedy Concealer Pen in Up All Night for a flawless, even and brightened complexion. She contoured the face using the O!Mega Bronze Coconut Perfect Tan in Tan-Tastic into the hollows of Emily’s cheeks.
For the eyes, Bonelli used the Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Fantascene 790 – a palette full of sensual nudes and shimmering pops – to create a warm, feminine yet sultry eye with a shimmering pop. She traced the shade “Meet Ya” – a warm copper with a metallic finish – in the inner corners of the eyes and on the bottom lashline to set a metallic tone to the look. To crease the eye and create some dimension, Bonelli used the shade “For More” – a reddish brown shade with a matte finish. On the center of the lid, Bonelli used the Eyeconic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Glambition 720 with the shade “Known For” – a rich, dark copper. And to finish the look and make the eyes really defined, she used multiple layers of the Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara to create thick, black lashes.
On the lips, Bonelli outlined them with the (P)outliner Longwear Lip Liner in (Nude)ist several times for a very defined look, followed by a mix of the New Nudes Sheer Lipstick in Dreamgirl and Le Marc Lip Crème in Sonic Truth for a warm nude lip. And to create a glossy finish, Bonelli swiped the Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer in Work It – an opaue light cocoa – to add an ethereal element to the metallic look.
The look was set with mists of the Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist and the Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in Fantasy was applied all over her body for a full head-to-toe shimmer.
Hair by Jennifer Yepez using Kérastase Paris products
How-to:
INSPIRATION: “Emily’s look tonight is really on par with the MET theme. We wanted to create this golden and super glowy look from head to toe… sort of like a statue dripping in liquid gold.”
1. To start the look, Jennifer first towel-dried Emily’s hair. She then applied Mousse Bouffante all over the hair from roots to ends. The mousse helped to give Emily’s hair volume and hold.
2. Next, Jennifer applied Elixir Ultime Original Oil all over Emily’s hair to help give a wet look. She used liberal amounts of product on the mid lengths to ends and a lighter application towards the front of the hair, as she wanted to keep give the front pieces a little curl.
3. Jennifer then parted Emily’s hair in the middle and made three small braids on each side – two in the front and one by the nape of her neck. After braiding, she pulled each braid to make then a little thicker and more natural looking. For the pieces that fell in the front post-braid, Jennifer curled quickly to add some texture.
4. Next, Jennifer took diamond accents and pinned them between Emily’s braids. She then twisted the longer diamond pieces with Emily’s hair and pulled it back. Jennifer pinned the twist to create a natural, effortless bun look.
5. To finish, Jennifer applied Forme Fatale to the loose pieces of hair to create a wet hair look and to hold the pieces in place on her neck.
4/17
Met Gala 2018
Kendall Jenner
Hair by Jen Atkin
How-to: Prep damp hair with OUAI Leave in Conditioner on roots and OUAI Air Dry Foam on ends. – Extensions by Tokyo – Blow dry using new Dyson Supersonic hair dryer professional edition and Diffuser on low heat and low Airflow. – Curl using a Sarah Potempa Beachwaver. – Use OUAI Dry Texture Foam throughout the ends. – Curl using a Sarah Potempa Beachwaver. – Use a black bungee band to secure a low ponytail and wrap with black fabric wrap. – Use Tancho Stick Hair Styling Balm for fly aways.

Met Gala 2018
Katy Perry
Makeup by Michael Anthony using CoverGirl products
“I wanted Katy’s skin to have a matte finish so we could control the highlights on the rest of her face. The new CoverGirl TruBlend Matte Made foundation was perfect for this because it would stay on all night but also be comfortable, while giving her that matte finish we were going for. It really gave the perfect smooth canvas to let her eyes and lips stand out and glow. She looked very heavenly and ethereal – perfect for tonight’s theme! I used the darker shades of the new CoverGirl Peach Punch palette on the hollow of her eyes and went straight across towards the end of her brow, and the effect was that her eyes looked very wide and open. I also used the champagne color on the center of her eyes to make them really pop.”
6/17
Met Gala 2018
Gigi Hadid
Makeup by Patrick Ta using Maybelline New York products
How-to: The inspiration behind Gigi’s look was based off the colour dimensions reflecting from her stained glass inspired gown. Making the eye feminine yet bold was definitely key—and the beautiful blue tones from Maybelline New York’s new Soda Pop Eyeshadow Palette were perfect for that!
FACE Begin by priming the skin with Maybelline New York Master Prime Hydrate + Smooth. Once the face is primed, apply Maybelline New York Fit Me! Dewy + Smooth foundation all over the face with a buffing brush. Then, apply Maybelline New York Fit Me! Concealer in light, under the eye and blend outwards to lighten up the area.
CONTOUR AND CHEEKS Contour the forehead and cheekbones with the dark side of the Maybelline New York Master Contour V Shape Duo in light, then set the contour with Maybelline New York Face Studio Master Contour Palette. Next, use Maybelline New York Fit Me! Blush in Nude on the apples of the cheeks for a beautiful flushed look. For a golden glow, highlight the inner corner, brow bone, nose and cheekbones using Maybelline New York Master Chrome Highlighter in Molten Gold. Lastly, set the entire face with multiple spritz of Maybelline New York Master Fix Setting Spray to ensure it lasts through the red carpet!
EYES Using the brand new Maybelline New York Soda Pop Eyeshadow Palette, apply the shade Grape Pop in the crease, then use the same brush and blend in the shade Blue Raspberry to add even more depth. Mix the shades Cherry on Top and Blue Raspberry on the lid to create a base and blend out into the crease. Next, take a clean brush and press Cherry Cola onto the lid for a pop of coloUr. Finally, use a pencil brush to apply Blue Raspberry on lower lash line and blend out any harsh edges. For the liner, mix Master Precise Ink Liquid Eyeliner in the shades Stellar Sand and Solar Gold and draw a tapering line below the lid, then finish it off with Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Light liner in White Luster in the waterline. Finally, apply everyone’s favorite, Maybelline New York Falsies Volum’Express Mascara on top lashes only.
LIPS Use Maybelline New York Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner in Dusty Rose to fill in the entire lip for lasting color. Then, finalize the lip look by applying Maybelline New York Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nudesin Purely Nude over the center of the lips.
7/17
Met Gala 2018
Jourdan Dunn
Makeup by Renee Garnes using Maybelline New York products
How-to:
Drawing from the theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” Jourdan’s look was dramatic yet soft. From afar, her appearance was striking but it’s in the close up details where you see the simplicity.
FACE AND CHEEKS Face + Cheeks: Renee started Jourdan’s skin with Maybelline New York Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation in a combination of shades 360, 330 and 312. She then applied the new Maybelline New York SuperStay Pro Tool (available summer 2018) in 25 to warmly highlight for extra glow on the high points on the face. She then used the Maybelline New York Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder to set the entire face and keep foundation intact. Following, she used a blend of Maybelline New York Facestudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Master Chrome, Molton Gold above the cupid’s bow, Molton Rose Gold and the Maybelline New York Master Holographic Prismatic Highlighter to create the ultimate layering effect for more definition. To complete the face, the Maybelline New York Facestudio Master Blush Color & Highlight Kit was applied, using shade NewNouveau for a subtle rose tint.
EYES To start the frame of the eyes, Renee used the new Maybelline New York Soda Pop Eyeshadow Palette (available September 2018) to create a delicate smoky eye. For liner, she used MUA cult-favorite Maybelline New York Eyestudio Master Precise Liquid Eye Liner to create that fine line on the lids. Her lashes were coated with plenty of Maybelline New York Total Temptation Washable Mascara in waterproof to ensure voluminous lashes all night long.
LIPS Renee used Maybelline New York Color Sensational Vivid Hot Lacquer Lip Gloss in Charmer for a high-shine finish to balance the rest of the look.

Issa Rae
Makeup by Joanna Simkin using CoverGirl products
How-to:
“We wanted her skin to be ethereal for the theme but matte photos, so I used a big thick fluffy brush from the center of her face and worked my way out. I started from the middle to provide coverage and then blended it to the edges to create a subtle glow. For her eyes, I used a matte brown all over from the CoverGirl Chocoholic palette, then added shimmery all over, and finished by glossing the top to create dimension. This gave her a slick eye look, and gave the appearance that she emerged from heaven.”

Janelle Monae
Makeup by Jessica Smalls using Marc Jacobs Beauty products
How-to:
Inspiration: “Tonight’s Met Gala’s theme in ‘Heavenly Bodies,’ and I intend to make Janelle Monae’s makeup look absolutely DIVINE!” – Celebrity Makeup Artist Jessica Smalls.
Smalls started with Janelle’s eyes, using the Marc Jacobs Beauty Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Eye Primer in 32 Invisible to ensure Janelle had a “bullet-proof” lid that wouldn’t crease. She then applied the Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Scandalust, using the shade That’s Why in Janelle’s crease, Little Miss on her lid, and a dab of At the Office in the center of the lid to give a gold glitter pop. Jessica then layered on Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer in Work It 342 over the entire lid, creating a sultry bronze glitter-glossy eye. To add definition, Jessica used the Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in Blacquer on Janelle’s waterline, and finished her eyes with one coat of Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in Noir on the top lashes and two coats of Marc Jacobs Beauty Feather Noir Ultra-Skinny Lash Discovering Mascara in Noir on the bottom lashes.
After moisturizing Janelle’s skin, Jessica gave her a divine glow by massaging a nickel-sized amount of the new, limited-edition Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in Fantasy. Next, using the Marc Jacobs Beauty The Seamless Liquid Foundation Brush No. 4, she blended Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Youthful-Look 24-H Foundation SPF 25 in Y500 from Janelle’s nose and blended it outwards. To bring out Janelle’s striking bone structure, Jessica added a touch of Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Bronze Perfect Tan, then applied Marc Jacobs Beauty Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in Night Fever & Hot Stuff 508 to the apples of her cheeks. She then dabbed a bit of the leftover Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in Fantasy on top for that divine glow.
For the final touch, Jessica filled in Janelle’s lips with (P)outliner Longwear Lip Pencil in Oh, Cocoa 310 before applying Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick in Amazing 204, a candy apple red. She finished by dusting the new Marc Jacobs Beauty Finish Line Perfecting Coconut Setting Powder on top to create a matte lip.

Gisele Bundchen
Makeup by Hung Vanngo for Marc Jacobs Beauty
How-to: To prep the skin, Vanngo applied the Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Primer before creating a flawless complexion with the Shameless Youthful-Look 24-Hour Foundation SPF 25 in Y370 all over the face. For areas that needed extra coverage, Vanngo used the Re(marc)able Full Cover Concealer in Glow 4. To add radiance to the skin, Vanngo tapped the NEW! Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in Fantasy on the top of the cheekbones to catch the light. And to add some dimension, Vanngo used a combination of the Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in Lines & Last Night and the O!Mega Bronze Perfect Tan in Tan-Tastic to create a warm wash of color. Lastly, he dusted the Finish Line Perfect Coconut Setting Powder all over the face to set the complexion.
To create the eye, Vanngo applied a wash of the gold shade from the Eye-Conic Multifinish Eyeshadow Palette in Edgitorial all over the lid, including up to the brow bone and under the lashes, with a subtle wash of the green shade along the lash line for an unexpected pop of color.
To elongate the eyes, Vanngo gradually built up the color and pulled the shadow in the outer corner of the eye. And to add intensity, he used the SNEAK PEEK! Highliner Glam Glitter Gel Eye Crayon in “Glitterbug” and “All That Glitters” along the upper lash line and soft smudged. To finish the eyes, he used a combination of the Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara on the top lashes with the Feather Noir Ultra-Skinny Mascara on the lower lashes for punctuation.
For the brows, he filled in the hairs with short strokes of Brow Wow Defining Longwear Pencil in Taupe and Ash Brown, and brushed them into place with the Brow Tamer Grooming Gel for a defined look.
On the lips, Vanngo outlined them with (P)outliner Longwear Lip Pencil in Oh! Cocoa and then applied a coat of Le Marc Lip Crème in Shakedown 288 – a warm peachy nude. And last but not least, Vanngo spritzed the Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist all over to make the makeup last all evening.
For the body, Vanngo swiped the Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator in Spotlight all over her arms and décolleté and legs for an all-over sexy sheen.

☕️ as the livery watch reporter...2014 liveries (which ones are ur fave, which ones don't do it for you, etc)
Deliberately waited until we'd had dinner so I could devote the appropriate amount of time to this (yelling about liveries my beloved!!)
Under a read more bc I'm about to get so chatty (please note: we are not including the rather hideous car noses we were cursed to endure in 2014, just the paint!)
Caterham
Tumblr media
Fun fact about British Racing Green: there isn't an exact hue for it, which is why the green Caterham used is much more brighter and more yellow leaning than the emerald green Aston Martin currently use.
Anyway, this is so pretty. It's glossy, the green looks utterly stunning and the splashes of white are really sleek and give it a slightly more modern feel than if it was all over green.
8/10
Ferrari
Tumblr media
Ferrari's just look better in glossy paint. Please end the deluge of matte liveries I beg.
The shade of red is literally perfect and I don't really mind the black section at the back, the thin white lines bordering it definitely help make it look less jarring.
Si ragazzi, 9/10
Force India
Tumblr media
Pre-BWT sponsorship, Force India liveries always leaned heavily into the colours of the Indian flag, though 2014 was the first year they incorporated a lot of black into the livery.
Which honestly? It slaps. The orange being on the sidepods still keeps the livery looking really bright despite all the black on the engine cover. I am torn on the block of white on the nose cone, but I think without it the car would feel a bit too dark, so for that it's fine.
7/10
Lotus
Tumblr media
Oh, if this didn't have the splashes of red and used a proper metallic gold instead of the flat beige colour, it would be the best livery on the grid. Alas, it loses points for those two reasons. BUT the glossy finish is still stunning to thank goodness we have that.
7/10
Marussia
Tumblr media
Much like the 2023 and 2024 Haas liveries, the red, white and black combination does look really good. Maybe not ground breaking, but it's far from being offensive on the eyes. I like the use of the warmer orangey red just to add a bit of brightness (and to make it look different from the Ferrari). It's a very solid effort.
7/10
McLaren
Tumblr media
Every day I thank the racing gods that McLaren went back to their roots with the papaya orange livery bc their one for 2014 was very meh.
This year was McLaren's last year with Mercedes engines, hence why they kept the silver chrome, but their sponsorship deal with Vodafone had ended at the end of the 2013 season, which is why it doesn't look as iconic. The black sidepods are quite jarring and make the car look really dark and dull.
Definitely not their best, 4/10
Mercedes
Tumblr media
As a friend said to me some time ago, Mercedes are all the better for making the switch to having mostly black on their car. The metallic finish Mercedes used on their cars from 2010-2019 and 2022 was really odd in that it didn't look properly metallic despite very obviously looking silver (contrary to my above spiel on McLaren, all over chrome silver with the Petronas teal accents would look so, so good.)
And speaking of the Petronas teal, there's not enough of it here even though I love how the shading on the sidepods was done (as much as I think the accents on the wheel rims are incredibly fun). The blob of black on the engine cover also feels like an after thought, especially with the gradient at the front and sharp line at the back.
6.5/10
Red Bull
Tumblr media
Now this is the superior RBR livery. It's glossy, we have the really nice dark metallic blue instead of the navy créme, and the purple Infiniti accents are so very pretty (I'm not so sure on the stripes on the side however).
I deliberately chose a night race picture to show off the metallic sheen and glossy finish. I am on my knees begging RBR to go back to using this livery.
8/10
Sauber
Tumblr media
This is... sadly very corporate. Like Mercedes, the metallic finish on the Sauber just looks off (though, it's better than if it were a flat grey) and I wish there was more white on this to brighten it up. The shade of grey used almost blends into the tarmac, which isn't great.
3/10
Toro Rosso
Tumblr media
As much as I hold a special place in my heart for the Toro Rosso drinks can livery circa 2017-2019, I still have such vivid memories of the gorgeously detailed Red Bull on the engine cover. Even though the Toro Rosso liveries were just a darker version of the main RBR livery (navy, dark red and gold in place of the more primary blue, red and yellow) I actually prefer the STR version.
Unlike the Lotus livery, the gold is metallic instead of créme, and the navy is also a gorgeous metallic (which ensures that it doesn't look flat, which is my main beef with the post-2016 RBR livery).
I just want to make sure that everyone looks at the bull on the engine cover again, IT'S SO DETAILLED!!!
9/10
Williams
Tumblr media
No notes. One of the F1 liveries of all time. I genuinely almost bought a Williams shirt that year bc the team kit looked stunning too with the Martini stripes (and honestly I have been debating whether or not I should try to find one on ebay). The Williams Martini livery is proof that it is possible to make a predominantly white car sexy as hell (and it's also glossy!!!)
If James Vowles ever manages to bring this livery back he can have my hand in marriage no questions asked.
10/10
send me a ☕️ and a topic and i’ll talk about how i feel about it

F1 Re-Watch 2013: Round 17 - Abu Dhabi
"Back in my day Abu Dhabi wasn't the final race of the F1 season" "Okay Grandma let's get you back to bed"
The way AD has been the season finale race for 10 years and I'm still not used to it dfvhdfjv. Anyway, This is another "no thoughts, head empty, Seb won" race for me - I'm 90% sure I only saw the BBC highlights programme of this race.
The only other memory I have apart from Seb winning is Kimi Raikkonen going over a bump that was so bad he ended up having back surgery that meant he missed the last two races of the season.
So this might be boring, but let's jump in:
If I'm to be brutally honest Abu Dhabi's only redeeming feature is that it looks very pretty at sunset.
(2010 and 2012 will forever be the best AD races though)
Lewis had broken suspension on his car after quali???? yikes
with that mildly cursed fact in mind, starting grid over view!: a Martian 1-2, Brocedes second row, Alonso P10 (???), Jenson P12 and JEV P13 (pain 😭)
Helmet watch: Lewis helmet has a gold sheen on it, it's very pretty. As is Seb's black and gold helmet. (GOATs always have the prettiest helmets)
Tyre compounds for this race are the Softs and mediums
[Formation Lap]: I'm still not over the fact that Lewis' suspension broke after quali. This is not the Mercedes AMG Petronas I know and love.
Apart from Seb I cannot remember who the other two podium finishers were so that'll potentially be fun seeing that unfold.
That shot of Alain Prost standing in the RBR garage feels very fake
Shoutout to Bernie Collins at McLaren though!!
[Start/Lap 1]: oh the Mercs were FAST off the line
It was almost a Merc-RBR sandwich
and there's Kimi on the side of the track out his car
Nooooooo Jenson has a damaged front wing
[Lap 2]: And Seb already has a 1.9 second lead because of course
(that's my goat!!!)
Top 5 is: Seb, Rosberg, Webber, Grosjean and Lewis
[Lap 3]: and after that first lap absolutely nothing has happened.
well apart from Jenson being called into the pits
[Lap 4]: And already we have a Seb fastest lap
he's also 3.2 seconds ahead of Rosberg 🏃‍♂️💨
"Good news, it [Jenson's stop to change his front wing] only took them 9 and a half seconds which is pretty quick!" The way Ted said that still made it sound sarcastic despite that legit being a good stop for a front wing change (the joys of Southern English accents)
[Lap 5]: Anyway Jenson's running in last so the grid is now a Séanagh's favourite drivers sandwich
[Lap 6]: Webber is already reporting KERS problems, who hexed him?
oh another Seb fastest lap!
[Lap 7]: Perez makes his first stop for the mediums.
Grosjean has caught up to the back of Webber! The gap between them is about half a second
[Lap 8]: Lewis makes his first stop! Also softs for mediums, and he comes out in 12th
And we're starting to get golden hour lighting on the track 👌🌇
[Lap 9]: Webber and Grosjean both pit! Both softs for mediums and their order remains unchanged (and they just came out ahead of Lewis)
[Lap 10]: Jesus Seb is 8.8 seconds ahead of Rosberg 😳
[Lap 11]: and Nico adds himself to the "first stop softs to mediums" crowd.
meanwhile Lewis' tyres aren't doing so great.
I mean I know that seeing Seb on the podium will be worth it but like... I'm almost a quarter of the way through the race and I'm rather whelmed
anyway we persevere
[Lap 12]: So because Seb hasn't stopped yet he has enough of a gap to the cars behind to pit and still be in the lead.
to quote Taylor Swift, that's my man
also the floodlights on the track are once again reminding me how much I miss the grid having glossy liveries. Matte F1 cars my beloathed.
"He's [Seb] lapping faster on old soft compound tyres than the rest of the field on new tyres" THAT'S! MY! BOY!!!
[Lap 13]: Meanwhile Lewis is still stuck behind Gutierrez who hasn't stopped yet
(and I think it's lap 13 bc the timing and position graphics have disappeared from the screen so I have no idea what lap I'm actually on. If it helps anyone I'm at 32mins39 seconds on the replay)
Seb finally pits! And he's also gone from softs to the mediums
And there's Kimi leaving the track dvhfduvhdfu
#JustKimiRaikkonenThings
[Lap 15]: yay the graphics are back
still a few cars to make their first stops so I'll wait until then to do a top 5 overview
[Lap 16]: Lewis is still behind Gutierrez
[Lap 17]: meanwhile Alonso makes his first stop for, you guessed it, mediums
[Lap 19]: Lewis got past Gutierrez everybody clap!! 👏
and he somehow managed to stay ahead of Massa
[Lap 20]: Bono immediately telling Lewis to cool the car 😭
Webber gets past Rosberg for provisional P2!!! (di Resta ahead has yet to stop)
[Lap 21]: Okay so with almost all the first stops completed, the top 5 is: Seb, Webber, Rosberg, Grosjean and Sutil (yet to stop, started on the mediums)
Seb leads by just over 27 seconds which is quite frankly insane but again, that's my goat!!
[Lap 23]: gosh the RBR livery under the floodlights, we used to be a proper country
(begging the powers that be at Red Bull to bring it back, it's so superior to the matte navy blue)
[Lap 25]: Sutil in P5 and yet to stop, Team Silverstone be Team Silverstoning
Make that P6, Lewis just got past him.
...oh not Lewis losing two places in one corner thanks to DRS.
ouch
[Lap 26]: Not Hulkenberg getting past Alonso.
Oh, my beloved midfield spice, welcome back to the party
so after all that the top 10 is now: Seb, Webber, Rosberg, Grosjean, Massa, Sutil, Lewis, Fernando, Hulkenberg and Perez
That was a rather eventful lap and a half
And Lewis is back into P6!
He got a better exit so wasn't as vulnerable on the second DRS straight and was able to stay ahead of Sutil
[Lap 28]: oof not a potential unsafe release by Sauber, Perez had to stamp on the brakes to avoid going into Hulkenberg
and at long last:
🚨HALF-DISTANCE KLAXON🚨
[Lap 29]: Jenson's still down in 17th 😭
[Lap 30]: And there's the unsafe release investigation notification for Hulkenberg
And Lewis makes his second stop! He's onto another set of medium tyres
[Lap 32]: aaaaaand another Seb fastest lap 🥰
and a Seb sighting!!!!!!
the TV feed has barely shown him all race
probably because he's 30 seconds ahead of Mark 😅
(when Seb and Lewis do this it's sexy, when anyone else leads by 30 seconds it's boring, fwiw)
[Lap 34]: drive through pen for Hulkenberg for the unsafe release
meanwhile Webber and Rosberg make their second stops
my eye twitched upon seeing the track limits investigation for Sutil and Maldonado. Curse you Austria 2023.
[Lap 37]: You wait all race for another Seb sighting and you get two in five laps.
(sorry pals there really isn't much happening)
Oh wait a minute, a lesser spotted Rosberg fastest lap.
[Lap 38]: And Seb makes his second and I assume final stop, again he's staying on the medium tyres
and Grosjean stopped immediately after, also for another set of mediums, he comes out just ahead of both Ferraris
[Lap 41]: Jenson's up to P14!!! this is genuinely a very good improvement!!
also hi Force India mechanic who waved at the camera!! 👋
[Lap 45]: Lewis overtakes Jev to move into 7th!
and Fernando bails out of the one-stop and pits for a set of softs, he comes out in P8 but almost took out Jev in the process
[Lap 46]: Somehow, Di Resta is in P5. I have not been paying attention to him so I've zero idea how that happened.
[Lap 49]: Meanwhile Jev is dropping down the field and is in 11th, the one-stop strategy clearly wasn't the bets call
[Lap 50]: Also also Fernando is catching Lewis who's catching Di Resta 🍿
ah Di Resta stopped on lap 20 and is also on a one-stop
[Lap 51]: 5 laps remaining!
And Fernando overtakes Lewis for 6th
[Lap 52]: And he gets past Di Resta for 5th
[Lap 54]: oh, Niki sighting 🥺
quickly followed by another Seb on-board
[Lap 55]: FINAL LAP!
Lewis please be serious and get past Di Resta
aaaand SEB WINS!!!!!!!!! 🥳🍾
Rest of the Top 10: Webber P2, Rosberg P3, Grosjean P4, Alonso P5, Di Resta P6, Hamilton P7, Massa P8, Perez P9 and Sutil P10.
Well, it wasn't exactly a blockbuster, but hey ho. Seb was very iconic and I will always support him winning by a stupidly large margin. Next race, USA!
