hot take: maybe im just a hater but i do not find je the slightest bit attractive, i just find him repulsive? and maybe that's his attitude and behavior speaking to me. but even so i can't even say he's objectively attractive, his best qualities are being 6'5 and wearing handbags. no one and i mean no one would look his way if he weren't towering over the nation. i just don't get why his team is pushing him like he's the hottest guy on the planet, like his whole snl stint just seemed conceited? but hey maybe his appeal is not for me to get LOL.

Wow Anon.... The shaaaaade lol....

😅
Idk if this was supposed to be a "confession", but since it didn't specify, I'll assume this is a "normal" ask lol. Anyway, there's nothing wrong with having your opinions Anon. Not everyone is going to find EVERYBODY attractive. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Everyone has their own personal tastes and preferences.
There are even some people who are NOT even objectively handsome, downright ugly even lol, but you STILL find them attractive, or you're still attracted to them. Sometimes, attraction doesn't even make sense lol. 😅
For me personally?? I recognize that JE is objectively handsome imo. Like, if he were to walk into a room, although his chin area is a bit much for me, I think I would definitely find him to be a tall and handsome man? I think people forget that a LOT of these celebrities (yes, even the so-called "average" ones), are actually WAY better-looking in person lol. Let's just say, when you see them up close in person, you realize why they are in front of a camera lol 😂
For me though, what turns me off about JE is his personality. His personality/vibe and how he comes across is just so off-putting to me for some reason. 🥴
I agree w/you about SNL also. The skits got a bit redundant talking about how "handsome" he is. Like, okaaaay...we get it?? They should have actually made him do a skit where he was playing someone ugly or nerdy tbh. THAT would have been way more interesting to me tbh.
But maybe he was leaning into the silly "he's so hot" label and heartthrob status?? LOL
Idk ...All I can say is JE's team works from sun up to sun down girl! One thing they're gonna do is PROMOTE the hayell out of that man lol!! 🤣

Eh I don’t think that bc people are starring in movies they’re movie stars. I think there needs to be intrigue. A level of success should be consistently reached. It’s about the whole package. So no I don’t think the likes of Paul Mescal, Sydney Sweeney or Josh O’Connor are movies stars bc they have yet to move culture with their work. They have yet to cultivate audiences who are look forward to what they put out. There is a very clear difference between names like that and names like Timmy, Tom, Z, and even Daniel Kaluuya. Daniel has achieved both critical and financial success. He draws audiences. He’s appeared in a wide range of projects. And he is consistently good. There is a distinct difference. I think it’s become completely warped bc of film Twitter. They exist in a bubble. The general public has no idea who Paul Mescal is. So whilst film Twitter will attribute Gladiators success to him. The gp will be attending for Denzel and Pedro. For most of them it will be their first introduction to Paul.
Thanks Anon, yea I def see what you're saying. I do think there has to be more than just starring in movies.
Butttt I do think it starts with staring in the RIGHT films.
Look, you can be a "movie star" and not even be the greatest actor rofl 🤣 Like you said, it's about intrigue, and I'd even say likeability on some level.
With that said however, I think that it's too soon for some (like say Paul for example) to just be written off so soon as not being a movie star. Cuz he very well could possibly become an A-lister "movie star" type if he keeps playing his cards right and keeps staring in the right films.
You all think Leo became a "movie star" overnight? No way! 😅 What if people had written him off early on in his career as never amounting to anything or becoming the ever elusive "movie star"? They'd be sorely mistaken lol.
This is what I mean by sometimes, you have to give some of these actors TIME to marinate and become "movie stars". I wouldn't write anyone off just yet tbh. 🤷🏾‍♀️
As we have seen, people's careers can change in the blink of an eye. One minute an actor is a "nobody", and then the next minute, they're the next "hottest thing". Sometimes, the reverse happens. 👀
So I wouldn't go by what we see today. Some people just have star quality even before their star has fully risen.
I'd def WAIT at least until "Gladiator 2" comes out before making any statements about Paul, because that film could very well be pivotal to him and his career. He's already an Oscar-nominee. Just saying! 😃
