(Reblogs seem to be broken again, so... apologies, no idea how to fix them...)
OMG, I remember the Schlomoctober theory, it was from the time when the only piece of information about October was "a book of dreams" from The Calendar Code 😀
Also still this...

(By the way, the wildest theories and headcanons and personal AUs are absolutely valid and great! It's just that the wiki that aims to be an accurate credible source must try to live up to it and mark any unconfirmed assumptions explicitly.)

#2 (forehead kiss) with the king and the manager… they make me insane
There was love here, and it mattered. Even if it didn't save them.

You've answered one for the Manager, so how about a playlist for the King with a Hundred Hearts? :3
In Loving Memory- First and Forever
Long & Lost- Florence + the Machine
Poor Atlas- Dessa
Bad Blood- Sleeping At Last
+ reasons & lyrics
in loving memory: this is actually the first song on my manager and king playlist lol. there’s a lot of it that works for the king, especially the chorus, and I like the line “I always find my way back in the end” because he’s never gotten over anything ever. which is understandable but still.
long & lost: what is home when you are the city where you live? I also like this song as an exploration of the dynamic between the king and the manager if the manager becomes a city.
poor atlas: short and bittersweet song about bodies, gods or lack thereof, and how to exist in a body with no god attached and no architect’s plans.
bad blood: going to cheat and add two lyric screenshots for this one. to me, this song is the clay men’s perspective on the king. I think this song captures both the pain and beauty of their creation really well.

i'm gonna say i don't actually think that The Manager is a direct 1:1 with Gilgamesh, personally. Mostly in part because the stories don't match up one to one in general, but also because, irl, the poem is, well, a story. A very important story and of course very respecting to the people of those times it was first created in, and a telling of the history of man kind and our important of storytelling to our cultures.
But a story, none the less.
more so, there is evidence that there was actually a historical king with the name, so its possible if we're going to go historically wise, that it was instead overlap there? which is why the stories dont match 1:1
That being said, i do still quite enjoy the comparisons so i will keep doing it lol. and i think some of the main points and the themes still carry over

..........Do living cities even have the ability to sleep. Do they get tired? Hungry?
WHO FEEDS THE SCOUNDRIL-CITY AND WHAT DOES HE EAT???? am horrified.
as far as we know, living cities don't need to eat and/or sleep! we're not even sure if they can!
the scoundrel just has a penchant for being delusional.

talked to the King with a Hundred Hearts (FINALLY) so now I gotta get that shard back for him.
i find his and the manager's story very interesting, and very tragic. Like. I just have a lot of feelings about them.
