Bill would absolutely tell Frank they’re not going to adopt a dog only for Frank to bring one home and Bill immediately forms the closest bond and attachment to it

Please keep in mind that the show was set in 2003 when the apocalypse began. Gay marriage was not legalised yet. Bill and Frank getting married was not a feasible future to them, at that time. Frank suggesting they get married was probably this insane and bizarre idea he had, that it was something he couldn't have imagined doing outside the apocalypse.
Absolute gut punch of an episode. Very beautifully done.

I still cannot believe that in a span of an hour we were given the most beautiful and domestic tale of a gay couple during an apocalypse where everything around them is going to shit.
The direction of the show compared to the game is obviously more heartbreaking. In the game we were left to interpret the relationship between Bill and Frank, but in the show it was made clear as to what their relationship was, AND IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL.
Bill was only surviving up until this stranger walked into his life (well more accurately trap.) But then over the years we get to see this shift where we can see that Bill is no longer surviving but is living. He has a reason to live and when that reason no longer wants to live, neither does he.
It was so refreshing to see these opposites of the need to survive and the need of normalcy in this new world.
But those are just my thoughts and I'm getting really tired.. BYE HAVE A GOOD NIGHT

Black sails walked (in terms of straightbaiting), so that HBO's The last of us could run (in terms of straightbaiting)
