“this box, right now, composes our universe, but … our universes only start from the inside of our head, and go out in all different directions, in any direction to infinity.” — head (1968), dir. bob rafelson.

Love how Stephen Stills auditioned to be a Monkee and they were like “um, your hair line is receding :/“ so he was like “I can send my friend Peter, people say we look alike” and then the world’s first puppy boy was introduced to America

and yknow.. since the monkees vs. beatles brawl poll was fun, im taking it a step further
this is NOT a popularity contest and this is NOT who you like more. look into your heart of hearts and ask yourself who would be the ultimate winner if they're all fighting each other.

Photos by Gene Trindl (?) and Ros O’Gorman.
“The Weavers and the Almanac Singers were [Peter’s] big musical influences, ‘but what really influenced me as a performer were things like Steve Allen’s and Danny Kaye’s comedy insanity.’” - Peter Tork, Oakland Tribune, July 11, 1989 Q: “Is there a comedy that left an indelible impression on you as a youngster?” Peter Tork: “The Court Jester [1956], a musical comedy starring Danny Kaye, was one I loved as a kid. It certainly stands up today. It’s just one of the greatest film comedies. My wife Pam saw that and said, ‘Ah, I see where you get all your stuff’ [laughs]. She thinks all my comedic, goofy characters are all contained in that movie.” - Medium, 2017 “[Peter] has had a great effect on the way I perform. The way he used to move, the way he used his accent, his whole attitude toward the theater, the entire theater, gave him a great basis from which to work. He never looks past the fact that he’s supposed to be up there: to entertain the people. And every time he got up there he would perform and do his whole number, exuding all the personality he could and he did some marvelous comedy routines. It was mostly by watching him that I picked up some of those things.” - Stephen Stills, Tiger Beat, June 1967

head 1968 is so scary like you are in a dark box in a box in a box in a box in a box chained and locked and sinking into the ocean and nobody on shore is doing a thing about it they just watch in assured silence because you will be back you ALWAYS come back the light of the sun can reach hundreds of feet down into the water and it will always shine on you

When you’re asked if there’s anyone who looks similar to you with similar talent for a new show/band they want to create and you immediately think of the one who was your Twin in the Village and seal his fate forever in The Box
